I know this is my fault for a) moving to a town popular with mountain sports types who tend to be fairly transient and move around a lot and b) operating in circles of those transient people but I am TIREDDDDD of my friends moving away all the time. It’s like: meet people -> hit it off and hang out -> we get to know each other and slowly slowly slowly I make moves towards letting myself be known & unmask -> they move -> I get sad and feel myself closing off again and miss them -> I get lonely -> meet new people -> they MOVE aughhhhhhhhhhhhh ok well I guess I have to find myself some fucking extracurriculars soon

I also think I'm done obsessing over this "bands using AI art" topic. A few weeks back an artist I followed used it for the second time - I had written him a very polite comment with a link to an article the first time, which he had of course ignored - and I didn't even get angry. I just rolled my eyes, unfollowed him everywhere and thanked my laziness for the fact that I hadn't actually bought his CD yet. This was a very small artist whose CD for some reason only shipped to France (as I had seen when I had tried to buy it) and I hadn't gotten around to messaging him to ask if I could buy it from abroad. His previous single releases, mostly without videos, had been very interesting to me, but what's the point of good music if it always has a bitter aftertaste..?

The truth is that most of these metal guys (and they are mostly guys) are just not really interested in any art forms except for their own (I know because I talk to guys like that a lot), and even there usually only in a very narrowly defined few genres of music. They may consume other art, but they just see it as a product. Trying to get them to see visual artists as their peers with whom they have common interests is in vain. Fuck it, if they screw people like me over then I'll just torrent their music or stop listening to them completely. And that's my last post on the topic...
