Fast fashion drives me insane.

I Google a clothing item I want to find, shein and temu and Amazon are the first results, and seeing stuff there for so cheap makes me so much more annoyed because as much as those sites suck at least they don't pretend to be high quality by costing a fortune for something that will degrade within a year.

Something that costs 40 quid is as good as something that costs 12 right now.

This is why I buy clothes second hand, at least I know that shit can last, but man I want to be able buy clothes i like that don't fucking rip or have hems come loose within a couple wears.

My clothing style changes in like, one year increments

example:

In 2021-ish, I was pretty normal looking, I would say. This was when I still used she/her or she/they and thought I was a girl/demigirl. I wore pink and white sweaters, sweatpants, T-shirts, and shorts in lots of colors.

2022-2023ish, I had an athlete sort of look. I wore a black Adidas zip-up sweater and wore lots of black/gray. I stopped wearing white during this phase.

2023-present day! Black. Everything is black. The one exception is my red flannel. I look very gay and not at all athletic (although I am athletic, don't let my looks deceive you). I have fun earrings and my glasses are round now, which is new. Sweatpants are still in, but now it's also cargo pants and stuff.

Wonder what next year's look will be.

This isn’t my usual kind of post but you know what?

Mixing aesthetics is FUN!

My mom is an “undercover goth”/“lazy goth”(which is wearing “normie” clothing but in a very distinctly goth way. Cardigans instead of trench coats, chunky sneakers instead of chunky boots, ect.)

I’m a “what if punk goth was 1930’s” (button downs with suspenders and an undershirt but with the chunky buckle boots and chains. The bold makeup when I have time/energy and I typically have bright purple hair.)and starting to lean into “gothic steampunk”(basically just whatever Rabbit SPG has had going on for the longest time)with how I dress.

It’s just so much fun! No unnecessary stress over a piece of clothing that you like and know you will wear not fitting into the singular aesthetic you’ve convinced yourself you have to stick to.

Match your button down and suspenders with chain, knee high boots with buckles all along and neon hair.

Wear your goth band shirt with a comfortable cardigan.

Dress pastel on days you want to and in dark colours the days you don’t want to be pastel.

Hell! Wear your pastel outfits with dark accessories and vice versa!

(This also goes for dress like a vampire, werewolf, robot, gargoyle or whatever! Wear those elf ears with any outfits! Wear those vampire fangs and bat earrings while you prance around in that fairy princess dress! Wear that crown, find a reason to wear that outfit you got for a fancy event and still have in your closet!)
