Anon: He was both a Jedi and a Mandalorian warrior. This means he had at least some knowledge of politics and how people work, and was a badass fighter. Both are important for leading a culture with a heavy focus on combat. He could also get advice from the Force, even if it was just a vague sense of whether or not something's a bad idea. (Also he was the one who created the darksaber, which isn't important on its own, but since it's his saber being used as a symbol of leadership, that implies he was at the very least a decent leader.)

@spacetime1969: Managed to keep an entire group of mando's from killing each other while living in close quarters in a sewer. That takes skill.

@taffylaffy: The Armourer has experience with leading people(as she was in charge of the covert(I think that’s what those are called) she has a powerful vibe that commands respect, AND she’s an amourer which is an important position of cultural knowledge/guidance for Mandolorians, so she’d have a lot of that. She’s also a good fighter so she has that in her corner, too.

Mando Waxer and Boil

I mean they are already mandolorian [counts on fingers] adopts kids -

One thing that I love aesthetically about Mandalore in the Clone Wars is that, even though no one in Sundari wears armour, the most iconic part of the armour - the beskar'ta diamond emblem - is everywhere. It's on the walls in the tunnel from the docks into the city, it's in the architecture of the prison and other buildings. It's on the kids' school uniforms and every citizen's clothes. It's built into the very design of Satine's throne room and woven into the fabric of one of her dresses.

Even though they aren't wearing the armour, the symbol is everywhere they look, pervading every aspect of their lives. They may have left their warrior past behind, but the sense of identity associated with their armour hasn't been abandoned, it just manifests itself in a different way, and I think visually speaking that makes for a really cool design choice.
