CloneX Height Conundrum

Okay, so I initially ruled out Tech as being CloneX because he is clearly the same height as Wolffe. According to my Clone Wars encyclopedia, Tech is 6'4" (1.93 meters).

However, the Starwars.com databank has now updated his height to be 5'11" (1.82m).

Now, I've always thought that Tech looked shorter than Crosshair. But he does have massive feet compared to the other shorter clones, and he slouches a lot. Also, the animators aren't very consistent with how they draw height, so I took the original encyclopedia as fact, despite what my eyes were telling me.

However, if his height has been recanonized as just a wee bit taller than Hunter, the top image still tracks. The fact that his accent is noticeably different from the other clones also lends itself to the Tech theory.

On the other hand, it would surprise me if Crosshair didn't know that Tech went through the program, since he was there too. Also, I'm not sure Tech would beat Crosshair quite so handily...but Cody would have made short work of him. But then there was THAT LINE (you could have been one of us, you chose the wrong side), which could go either way, but it be so poetic if it was Tech.

A few thoughts on TBB S3E6&7 spoilers spoilers spoilers

They called the CloneX's "Shadows". I think they broadly illustrate what happens when the clones make the dark and unehtical choices. A shaddow version of the clones. I believe that the last CloneX we saw was not Tech, but a shadow version of Tech. Not his body in that suit, but some other reg. They are just kind of lurking all over the place.

I think we didn't see this CloneX's face because in that instance he represented Tec and Crosshair's dark sides at different times. While fighting in the river CloneX said to Crosshair "You had your chance to be one of us…You chose the wrong side." This feels like what Crosshair said to Hunter at the end of S1 and what he clung to until he chose his brothers over the Empire.

The drowning was very symbollic too - Star Wars Explained likened it to baptism and I can't believe I didn't see it in the moment. His old self died and he was reborn. I felt his old self/shadow self nearly killed him, but Crosshair was saved by his family when Howzer stunned CloneX.

Yes, I saw parallels between Tech's experiences and CloneX - having his leg (and everything else) crushed, going through the water and down a waterfall, being shot at by Crosshair when he is climbing (like while in the ion engine in S1), falling…I saw it, but I felt it was more along the lines of comparing their choices. It illustrated parallels between their experiences and the outcomes.

Tech made sacrifices for his family, and was (except for his last sacrifice) taken care of by his family. Loved and missed. Nobody is missing these CloneX guys. The Batch is all greiving for Tech. This CloneX guy went through all the same things with dark solitary motivations and no one was there for him at the end. No one. His communicator did not even work. Even Wolffe just took off with his squad without a thought about him.

I considered a Winter Tech, and I half like the idea, but there are so many other things happening, so many messages they are trying to impart I feel like a Winter Tech would be one of the less interesting and obvious options. The lighting, the music, the nuanced story telling? They make choices that feel so authentic and genuine to life that I can't see them pulling a Marvel comic book trick like that...unless they have a wild and wonderful twist on it. But I'm not counting on it.

Theory: The Clone X was not Cody like some people think or even Fives (I know he's been dead for a very long time but so was Boba Fett and look where we are. Plus, Echo was supposed to be certainly dead too; making him Winter Soldier-esque storyline wouldn't be that surprising) or not even Slick.

((Also, now that we've seen his face devoid of any tattoos or scars I think first two takes are definitely not applicable anymore; they wouldn't put that much effort to make him unrecognizable))

Back to the point: In my opinion, The Clone X was none other than...

Fox.

Now let me explain.

Who else, other than X, was loyal to the law and justice dictated by it over any moral or ethic code?

Fox.

Who else was portrayed with such single-minded focus on hunting down traitors of the government he served, regardless of what it was?

Fox.

Who else could know not only Coruscant so well but also identify Rex like they knew each other?

He already was a remarkably successful tracker of traitors, why not make him more efficient by pointing them out for him?

Good soldiers follow orders, after all.

I'd like to take a moment to appreciate how incredible Echo is

When Wrecker had to go to the far end of the compound and turn on the breakers (Jurassic Park feels, anyone? He even had to PRIME the handle), that left Hunter, Crosshair, and Echo to deal with the wyrm, while Omega was ready to flip the switch for the perimeter fence. Now, normally, Crosshair would be their eyes in the sky, taking the tower and covering them from up high; but he can't because of his twitchy hand. Without missing a beat or embarassing Crosshair, Echo immediately volunteered to take the high vantage point to call out directions - good thing, too, because Cross can barely hit the broadside of a barn as he is right now.

As a strategist and a leader, Echo has come so far. The way he mediates conflict, encourages the team, guides Omega, and keeps them focused on the mission "here and now" is remarkable. He has all the best qualities of Rex and Obi-Wan. I'm just so proud of him.

The Bad Batch (Clone Force 99) faced a mysterious Imperial Clone Operatives hunting them. But who is that Clone. We have seen these CX Operatives before and they never have a CT number, their identities have been scrubbed. Is it Tech? Is it Cody? Is it someone else?

Hunter seems to be wiping his eyes in this shot. Hating himself for what he must do, but knowing it must be done.

Preparing to render the killing blow, sick with self-loathing and despair. Probably some Imperials (Hemlock?) watching it all with glee.

Bad batch s3 ep10&11 spoilers

First of all, These episodes were just dark.

Emerie is nice. She sees what they are doing is wrong.

Hunter will be so mad. He and Crosshair might fight in the next episode(hope not).

Crosshair will feel terrible even now he feels terrible. He couldn't place the tracker.

Omega made her choice and sacrificed herself.

Probably Emerie will help her this time(hopefully)

And cloneX didnt make more damage. And he kept his promise. He might still be Tech i belive it i want it but at the same time i don't want him to be like that if there is no return. There is just 4 episodes left and i dont know how can they bring him and reunite him with bad batch end give them a happy ending.

I think we probably wont get an happy ending (i hope i am wrong) but if we don't get a happy ending at least let it be a less painful ending.

(People behind this show just want to break us. There is no other explanation. And they are doing a good job.)
