Thinkin about how Clive would hold you like he's afraid to lose you. He lost everything once; his home, his people, his family. He refuses to go through that trauma again.

On Gait - Clive HC

Clive was raised a noble, and as such his original gait is that of a noble man. Self assured steps and often times it carries with it a sense of regality that a lot of people work a lifetime to emulate. Even if he should be beaten to a pulp or covered in bruises, he would still walk like this through the castle courtyard and very few people would be able to mistake him for anyone other than the young heir to the Rosfield throne ( at least until Joshua came along ).

This wouldn't change even while he switched from his normal studies to studying the sword. It was often something he was teased for when he was in the training yard, being a little lordling playing at soldier to make his mother love him more.

It was only once he became an Imperial branded that he would lose that noble gait. For his own protection, he made sure he walked, talked, and acted like other soldiers. Head down, careful footing like he might step on a mine should he not watch. From this point on, it is natural for him. Unless you recognize him, it's unlikely that you would notice he was a noble based on his mannerisms, let alone how he walks.

Once free, one might be able to see his original gait. If Clive is overly tired or badly injured, he will not be putting effort into adjusting how he walks. Instead he is far more focused on keeping himself going until he is in a safe place to pass out or tend to what wounds he's accrued.

The less he is in combat, say when there is peace and things are on the uptick, the more he will walk like a noble again.

I love how in Final Fantasy 16, even the various characters acknowledge how attractive Clive is in game and I can't stop laughing.

On a more serious note, I'm 90 percent sure Clive himself doesn't see it that way. He's more like 'it's just a face'. Totally not into the whole only into looks type of thing.

Not surprising, if there was a chance for Clive to play games, his favorite franchise would be Fire Emblem. Give him a phone, he would even play Fire Emblem Heroes and ask people for their friend codes. lol. Sorry not sorry, he's a massive Fire Emblem nerd. Loves even the spinoffs like the Warrior games. I don't make the rules.

Clive also likes the Tales of games and Zelda ( more so the old school ones. Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom aren't his cup of ale ). But his main stay will always be Fire Emblem. Was going to put Final Fantasy but for reasons like existential dread, this probably won't even exist. lol.

Maybe you're just in with a bad crowd, but you can't leave them, no matter how unsavory their intentions, because they're your only ticket to your ultimate goals. No matter what, your goals are noble, and you take no joy in wreaking havoc or hurting those in your way, but the evils you partake in are necessary. If you need to play the bad guy to ensure a better future, then you are willing to play that part.
