Every now and then, I come across posts about how blonde mmc's should be banned because, apparantly, nobody wants that. We're in an era of dark-haired shadow daddies mmcs.

And I'm just like .... can we leave those guys in contemporary romance books, please. The basic bitchification of male characters in Fantasy, or more specifically, the Romantasy genre, is appalling.

We can have the most ethereal or whimsical descriptions of characters, but instead, the vast majority of people seem to want guys you can find at the mall!

The way this negativity around blondes have sky rocketed in recent times, I fear we might be facing a situation where authors are afraid to write such characters. This makes me so sad because my type kinda looks like this:

- Thranduil

- Lucius

- Geralt

- Lestat

- Thor

- Prince Nuada

- Alucard (my newest love)

... yeah, you see a pattern there! And I'm not saying no to dark-haired mmcs, but give me the Aragorn types! Or let's go wild and have green hair or blue or pink. Literally anything!
