Huh, I thought I'd posted Bowser art here already, but apparently I didn't? That's a waste of an 8/4 for me. Oh well.

I have a headcanon about Bowser being an artist and/or by extension the Koopas having some sort of inclination to art, what with the warped paintings in SM64, Bowser Jr. taking up the paintbrush (possibly out of inspiration?), and even the fact that the Koopa Kingdom's major export being hanafuda cards (according to the brochure in Super Mario Odyssey (i really love those brochures i can't believe mario did a pause-for-lore thing)).

Also there's these two busts.

if you'll allow me to be sappy on here for a moment, i want to say how happy it's made me to see more art of people/characters with cleft lips that aren't demonized or gross the past few years

i'd only begun drawing characters with cleft lips a few years ago and ever since then, drawing that and seeing others draw characters with it has helped my self image immensely, and i encourage anyone who has anything similar to draw their features more on ocs or faves and seeking out others who do similar 🧡🧡

In the meantime, I see there don't appear to have been any new stories regarding Halloween this year (please point me in their direction if I am wrong) so I am shamelessly including a link to a (now slightly revised) story I wrote last year at this time, when I had only been in the Garcy fandom for about six months and you might not have read before. It's not a Halloween story as such but does feature something associated with Halloween. If nothing else it might be some amusing fluff for your coffee break in these ghastly times.

Summary: AU. Gossamer-like fluff. Happy Garcy. Revised slightly October 2024. Something little causes drama in the bunker. Flynn shows his stuff (his knowledge!), Lucy undertakes an unusual mission. Wyatt behaves....well, as he usually does!

I am a cleftie myself and I’m always super happy to see actors with visible clefts/cleft scars. If you tell me that a show contains a character with a cleft who isn’t meant to be a freak or a monster, then you have essentially guaranteed that I will watch it.

What if u drew in a lil chin dimple in place of the clefty cleft. More subtle maybe? If that's ur taste

The dimple though could make some appearances when Mike is smiling

if you suddenly acquired a doodle puppy, what would you name it? this is totally random I definitely don't have an unplanned (newborn cleftie) doodle puppy that needs a name

I would not acquire a doodle puppy for long enough to name it on the basis that I absolutely despise grooming and doodles are a high grooming needs mix. That dog would mat in 3 seconds and I would hand it off to someone else and never think about it again.

While I think hybrids and dwarfs look cool (especially tigons, my beloved!) It seems like actually owning one is so stressful- people treat it like an investment and that just doesn't seem fun to me

Heck, I randomly had a cleftie born and trying to find a jellyfish was a major pain in the ass and super stressful

I joined a student union at my school recently with the ulterior motive of attempting to get them to celebrate cleft and craniofacial awareness mounth

Statistically there’s somewhere between 0-3 other clefties (or people with any craniofacial conditions) at my school and since most people don’t know what it is I was scared no one would care

But I was wrong!!!

I typed out a long ass message of why it would be important and why awareness can make peoples lives easier and a really cool year 12 that everyone kind of knows responded, and wanted to group up with me to do it! And suggested other campaigns related to disability

And I’m sooooo happy!

And I asked for help on another campaign that I had already started and people jumped on it and it was great

oh my gods. this tutorial is rly good!!!!! (bilateral cleftie here :) )

tutorial for drawing characters with cleft lip! sorry that it's mostly unilateral-centric but it makes up the vast majority of resources and photos. still tried to get tips for drawing bilateral clefts in though.

please keep in mind that this is an introductory drawing tutorial and has some generalizations in it, so not every “X is Z” statement will be true for Actual People : )
