Oh, this. She supposes should’ve been expected this. It’s so jarring, hearing a voice she’d grown so endeared to, one she’s gotten used to hearing only as cordial at worst and exciting at best, suddenly turn it’s fangs upon her... if only figuratively.

She doesn’t feel hurt by it, of course- understanding why she’d turn so cold in the heat of something like this all too well, fierce & protective as they both are. It’s a natural reaction, and she wouldn’t hold it against her... but, neither would she waver in the warrior royal’s presence. Respectful, but unafraid.

Ah yes, another royal to make friends with, another Vanderbilt to meet. Work was going to be thrilled with Milo, but it was Miranda’s older sister, how could they not? Besides, this was all about making connections; Miranda and Milo were friends, thus it was only fair to extend the same pleasantries to Bellanda.

Even if their first real conversation seemed to be about old trials and the terrible fates within them.

I heard that a lot back in Hell...” She answered after a moment of reexamining herself; she knew it wasn’t an unfounded sentiment, as she never really thought about such things in the midst of a fight, having not been trained to. She knew how to properly handle a weapon’s weight and keep her footing steadied, of course, but anything more than that was hardly considered, either by her or the society she came from. They’d never learned to.

Even in their time fighting in the ownership of high demons, they were never properly trained- former keepers having put full faith into their physical dominance and ferocity. Not that that’s where their battle prowess truly comes from, of course; if they were the undisciplined brutes that the royals of hell painted them as, they wouldn’t have conquered half of hell so handily.

Centuries worth of being bred for war, reshaping not only their species but their very essence, has made their natural instincts for battle honed enough to make up for any formal disadvantage they might face. Hence why she’d never heeded any such criticism before, as it always came from some haughty general or petty king who she’d make a show of utterly dismantling in single combat.

... Bell wasn’t any such pompous fool, though. Dahlia knew that. So, she gladly turned to face her with an excited grin, all too willing & eager to learn.

      Still. It is a little concerning. They should probably go check on her. Whatever it was, there was definitely bad blood there, and maybe a little TLC was in order. Plus, she did enjoy using them as a chewtoy, so that might help!
