Not a weird question at all and I’d never ignore you, Riley! I don’t, sadly. Judging by Marko’s shirt it’s from the Clearview tour between 2016-2017 but that doesn’t narrow it down much 😅 It’s tough tracking down the sources of some of these old gifs.

Renee Powell (born May 4, 1946) is a professional golfer who played on the US-based LPGA Tour and is head professional at her family’s Clearview Golf Club in East Canton, Ohio. She was the second African-American woman ever to play on the LPGA Tour.

She was born in East Canton, Ohio, where she was raised Catholic. She began playing golf at the age of three. Her father, Bill Powell, is the first African American to create and build his golf course in the US. He made miniature golf clubs for her to use as a child and was her golf teacher. She played several different sports as a young person, including archery, ballet, and basketball. She helped maintain the Clearview golf course, driving a tractor.

She entered her first amateur tournament at the age of 12 and won her division. She had 30 youth tournament trophies. By 1961, she had 50 trophies and was playing golf daily on her father’s golf course. She had won the Great Lakes Bantam Golf Tournament, the Columbiana County Open, Clearview Golf Club junior, Sixth City Ladies (three times), Tiretown Open Ladies (twice), Vehicle City tourney, and the Midwest District Junior in three consecutive years. In 1962, she was the first African American to enter the US Girls’ Junior. She caused an upset by winning the first round. In the summer of 1964, she won a “sudden death” match in the Lyle Chevrolet women’s golf tournament. She was considered a favorite in the 1964 United Golf Association National Open and went on to take the amateur title that year.

She went on to attend Ohio University and then transferred to Ohio State University. At OU she was majoring in Speech and Hearing Therapy but changed her major to Sociology when she transferred to OSU. She captained the women’s golf team at both universities and at OSU, her role as the captain made her the first African American to lead a major university golf team. It hit me last night, and how the hell could I have forgotten? (I’ve been a bit pre-occupied with work stuff recently) In just under 2 months, I’m off to Manchester to see Poets of the Fall. For those of you who don’t know me too well, Poets are my favourite band (next to Two Steps From Hell - it says this in my header) and I’ve loved then for about 15 years, following their music constantly. Finally, back in January 2017, I got to see them live for the first time when they began touring the UK. It was the most magical experience ever. To hear the music I’d listened to over and over again, during times of need and times of happiness, hearing it live and seeing the men who had been responsible for that, right in front of me. 

And in December, it will be my fourth time. :) I’ve seen them in Birmingham, Glasgow (I was offered a ticket - and got to MEET them as well!), Nottingham, and now, Manchester. Sadly, they don’t seem to perform in Birmingham now, so I just go to my closest city after Birmingham and stay over for the night. :) Doing this has also helped with my anxiety of travelling and the unknown as well. A lot of people tell me that they couldn’t travel to unknown cities on their own, but I’ve come to enjoy it. 

I’ve booked my Manchester hotel (Jury’s Inn again, like always) and now need to book my train tickets. I’m not driving up there! Ha!!

After releasing the track a few weeks back, Dashboard Confessional shared a video for their new track “Here's to Moving On.” The track appears on the band's new album All the Truth That I Can Tell, which will be dropping on February 25.

Ex-Yellowcard’s William Ryan Key announced that he is going to be releasing a new EP at the start of next year. Everything Except Desire will be dropping on February 11 via Equal Vision/Rude Records.

Six Impala remixed Bring Me the Horizon’s recent single “DiE4u” into a hyperpop rendition. The original version of the song premiered back in September.

Mod Sun released a new music video for his song “Down.” The singer released his previous music video for the song “Amnesia” back in May, off the deluxe version of the record Internet Killed the Rockstar.

Evanescence released a cover of The Beatles’ “Across the Universe,” taken from the Fab Four's final record. The cover was originally part of the band’s Synthesis setlist, which was then released on the bonus CD A Live Session from Rock Falcon Studio.

NOAHFINNCE and Sophie Powers collaborated on a new track titled “Clearview.” The two will be touring together around the United Kingdom early next year on the Anatomy of a Rat Tour.

Thursday 27th

Another hot day. Very comfy night and nice healthy breakfast which was just as well given all the food that was to come....

We started our wine tour at Clearview, a pretty tiny vineyard next to the sea. We had coffee outside, served by a charming French girl who was working her way round NZ with an equally charming French man who we met inside. Then on to taste six wines. I rather like this. Some wines nicer than others. Most around the $30 mark. They had FOUR different chardonnays! Nick bought five bottles.

Next stop was Craggy Range where lunch was booked. It was really to celebrate Alex's 40th birthday - a day early as they were booked for a corporate function the next day. What a stunning place. It was obvious why it was so named - surrounded by craggy hills including one where they have dug a windy road all the way to the top. Not used - nowhere to drive to and there were lots of complaints and it certainly has blotted the landscape

We had a glass of perfect rosé outside whilst contemplating the menu then decided to go for the full Monty for lunch. Despite my fears of there being too much it was a perfect size and one of the best meals I've had in my life. A stunning glass of Chardonnay (Nick had a Riesling and it was interesting that they were in different shaped glasses and served at different temperatures), followed by a delicious Syrah. Quite unbelievable. Thanks Alex!

Staggered home afterwards via the local deli to get something for supper (!!) then just lounged around drinking water and holding our stomachs. Didn't need supper! What a gorgeous day. Early night but Nick stayed up and watched a whole parade of satellites.

Friday brought much of the same (hooray!). Coffee in Havelock North first, then on to two different wineries, this time further inland. The first was amazing - Trinity Hill - where we had another six or so tastings. It's a very sophisticated operation. They even have cushions and rugs so you can lie outside and recover before trying another six!! I wasn't crazy about any of the wines but Nick bought a couple. There was a nice bottle on display which would be good filled with Macon Village

it's a Salamander. Holds 12 bottles! How on earth do you pick it up let alone delicately pour it!

We then went to Ash Ridge for another tasting - lovely wines, especially a port. I bought a T-shirt and some port for Dot and we shared a gorgeous but more modest lunch in the garden

A bit of a rest in the afternoon - I tried to sunbathe but it was too hot. We had a nice dinner in the evening at a local bistro with Pauline and Mike. She used to work with Nick in Wellington. Lovely couple, lovely pork ribs. A former captain of the All Blacks was there, Taine Randall.

Boeing B-17Es from Tampa, FL March 1942 LIFE by Batman_60 Via Flickr: Boeing B-17E Fortress 41-2540 which, though not a combat veteran, was on a war bonds tour when it caught fire and bellied in to a pasture near Clearview Airport, Texas, on April 29, 1943, the 22 on board not being seriously injured. The wrecked airframe was transported to Love Field, where it was broken down for spare parts, finally being officially struck off charge on May 8, 1943. The plane on the right is probably Boeing B-17E Fortress 41-2575, which was delivered to McDill Airfield on February 14, 1942. It crash landed on April 20, 1942, but was reportedly salvaged. And the B-17E on the left is possibly 41-2546 which, when assigned to the 339th BS, 96th BG, experienced engine troubles near Randolph, UT on November 29, 1942. The crew bailed out.
