"That’s that" / ただ、それだけのこと Hagoromo Okamoto November 11 - 26 2022, 12:00-18:00(Closed on Monday,) CLEAR GALLERY TOKYO Kishida Bldg. 2F 7-18-8 Roppongi Minato-ku, Tokyo When I am walking in the city, I sometimes hear someone's words as I pass by. I feel their words fall into me like a tiny fish unexpectedly entering a huge, empty aquarium. The fragmented lines spoken by a stranger are neither a premonition that something is about to happen, nor do they signify the end of the story. It is a dirty word, a clerical conversation, a painful story, a gentle voice, a miserable soliloquy. Each of these insignificant little words are circulating in my body. I repeat their words over and over, and when I get home, I try to apply them to my paintings. My persistent handprints on the picture are continually generated in the picture, and after a while, a calm comes over the picture. By then, the fish of someone else's words has already escaped from me and is swimming firmly in the painting. I leave the freshly titled painting and sit in my chair for a while, watching the situation happening there. After a long time of gazing like this, suddenly someone whispers behind me. It was very calm. "That’s that" / ただ、それだけのこと Hagoromo Okamoto November 11 - 26 2022, 12:00-18:00(Closed on Monday) CLEAR GALLERY TOKYO Kishida Bldg. 2F 7-18-8 Roppongi Minato-ku, Tokyo 街を歩いていると、時折通りすがりに聞こえてくる誰かの言葉。
何もない巨大な水槽に、不意にちいさな魚が入り込んだみたいに、僕の中で彼らの言葉が自分の中に落ちていくのを感じる。
見知らぬ誰かが話す断片的なその台詞は、何かが起こり始める予感のようなものでもなく、物語の終わりを意味するものでもない。
汚ならしい言葉、事務的な会話、痛々しい話、やさしい声、惨めな独り言。そんなとるにたらない小さな言葉のひとつひとつが、僕の体内で循環している。
僕は彼らの言葉を繰り返し口ずさみ、家に帰ってその言葉を自分の描いた絵にあてがってみる。
絵に残された僕のしつこい手痕は、その画面の中で絶えず生成し続け、ざわめき、やがて静けさが訪れる。
その時には、もう誰かの言葉の魚が、僕のところから抜け出して絵の中でしっかり泳いでいる。
僕はタイトルがついたばかりの絵から離れて、しばらくそこで起きている状況を椅子に座りながら、眺めていた。
そうやって長い時間、眺めていると、突然、僕の後ろで誰かがささやく。とても落ち着いた感じで。

Hagoromo Okamoto That’s that / ただ、それだけのこと 11 - 26 November 2022 Performance: Sunday 13 November, 3-4 pm この度CLEAR GALLERY TOKYOでは、岡本羽衣による 「That’s that / ただ、それだけのこと」展を開催致します。 本展は、10月15日から当ギャラリーのビューイングルームで開催している岡本の「Daily Works - 突き落とされる日々」展と連動した展示として、新作の油彩画を発表いたします。 また、絵画制作と並びに岡本にとっ���重要な表現である、自身の身体つかったパフォーマンスを、11月13日（日）に開催いたします。 CLEAR GALLERY TOKYO is pleased to present "That's that " by Hagoromo Okamoto. This exhibition will be held in conjunction with Okamoto's "Daily Works" exhibition, which has been on view in the gallery's viewing room since October 15, and will feature new oil paintings.
