What is your skin care routine?
disclaimer what works for me may not work for everyone else and i rlly recommend watching someone like dr dray on youtube who is a licensed dermatologist and discusses how products interact / what’s harmful / how to use certain things ect, i have combo skin and used to have cystic acne breakouts btw -> post with pictures of what i use
for mornings i use a gentle cleanser from cerave, followed by my la roche moisturizer and then sunscreen (wait til ur moisturizer has dried down or become tacky before applying sunscreen) if ur using sunscreen (u should be sun damage is serious) anything below 50 on your face is not enough, i liked “black girl sun screen” but didnt like how oily it was / how it was only 45 spf so i switched to sun bum which is more of a cream consistency / lightweight feeling if u wear makeup often like i do
for nights depending on if i wore makeup i’ll do double cleansing (if not i’ll skip the oil cleanse) i use naturism creamy oil cleanser on dry skin and use it for about 1-3 minutes to rlly get rid of a lot of dirt / dead skin build up and then rinse with cold water, after that i use my la roche blue bottle face wash (theirs two kinds i have the blue one) and rinse, pat face dry apply differin gel (pea size amount) followed by my la roche moisturizer
i only use my differin (retinoid) twice a week rn bc i’ve been off of it for so long and any retinoid / retinol must be used slowly to build up tolerance bc it irritates the skin during its process of getting rid of acne, this means on the nights i use this i don’t use any peels, face mask, any alcohols or serums that would result in “burning” this includes my vitamin c serum i only use on days i don’t use differin, i prefer to apply this at night
i also use panoxyl but only on nights im not using differin, typically only when i’m breaking out bad, and again i avoid any serums or other drying products bc panoxyl is very drying, occasionally i use vanicream instead of my la roche moisturizer if i feel like my skins extra dry aaand thas it
#✉️#i used to use snail mycin which worked very well but would randomly break me out so i took it out of my routine

I have stumbled upon my old skin and hair care routine. I see a dermatologist now so my skin and hair are better now so let’s see what’s changed!
Skin ✨
I’m still on Yaz (birth control) which does help a lot
Morning
I wash using the Differin cleaner (the daily deep)
I treat my skin with clindamycin
Then sunscreen which is still la roche posay 100 spf.
I don’t wear much makeup anymore so I just reapply sunscreen every 2 hrs. If I do have makeup I still use the Derma e sunscreen powder.
I don’t use moisturizer in the morning because I learned from the youtuber and dermatologist Dr. Dray you don’t need to use both moisturizer AND sunscreen at the same time.
Night
Remove waterproof sunscreen and/or makeup with Albolene cleansing balm.
Wash with a basic Cerave cleanser
La Roche Posay lipikar moisturizer (my derm said it’s the best for acne prone skin.)
Tretinoin (prescription retinol)
And MAYBE Cerave healing ointment as a sleep mask on my period since my skin gets dry now for some reason?
That’s it!
Hair
My hair is fine, dense, wavy, with highlights. My main problem is frizz.
I shampoo with redken all soft shampoo.
Condition with frizz dismiss conditioner
Once a week I use a protein hair mask that I have no idea what it is. I bought it from my salon when my stylist suggested it.
When my hair is wet I use the Redkin leave in conditioner, the acidic bonding one.
I then spray the quick blow out spray also by Redken 😅. It’s a heat protectant and it helps your hair dry faster which I need because I have way too much hair.
Then I blow dry using a round brush hair dryer.
I just bought jumbo rollers to set my hair in but I haven’t used them yet.
Once dry I apply oil to the ends. I’m still searching for my holy grail oil so no suggestions.
For dry shampoo I use a 1930’s hair powder which I will link in the end. It’s for blondes and is AMAZING. It takes more work but it’s worth it. Basically apply to the hair at the scalp and massage in. Leave it in over night and brush it out with a boar bristle brush the next morning.
There it is! My current routine!
skincare routine ?
hair routine ?
💞
I have a detailed skin care routine somewhere on my blog but I can’t find it so I’ll redo it!
I take birth control for my endocrinological disorder and it helps with acne. The best brith control for acne is Yaz.
Morning ☀️
Wash face with Neogen a clear foaming cleanser
Exfoliate 2 times a week with Rachel’s best soaps exfoliating peel.
Tone with AHA BHA PHA 30 day miracle toner
Apply medicine of Clindamycin and let dry
Apply vitamin C serum and use my red light wand if I have time in the morning. I have seen wonders with my acne scars from the red light therapy!
Moisturize with Cerave because it’s cheap and has ceramides.
Apply sunscreen which is la roche posay 100 melt in milk sunscreen.
On the go use derma e sun screen powder
Night 🌙
Cleanse off makeup with either clean it zero oil cleanser or micellar water. The oil works better but it’s is more labor intensive so if I’m tired after work I use the water.
Wash with Neogen.
Tone with same toner
Use Clindamycin
Use peach and lily glass skin serum and red light wand.
Apply retinol. I use inky list for face and the peace out retinol eye stick for the eyes. However I do want to get prescription strength soon.
Moisturize with Cerave
Then apply an oil. Like grape seed which helps acne or bio oil.
Face masks
I recommend the ordinary salicylic acid mask for breakouts. For sheet masks I love sincere Laura sake lees masks , Tony moly’s I’m rice masks, and Petitfee gold snail hydro masks.
Hair 💇♀️
I clarify once a week with nature lab clarifying scalp scrub.
Shampoo with Redken color extend blondage so that my highlights don’t go brassy.
Condition with Himawari gloss and repair. I really recommend Japanese conditioner for ladies with fine hair.
After shower I spray living proof restore perfecting spray.
And if air drying I also use glasglow sea salt spray
Boar brushes are amazing to use too!

Will you drop a skincare tutorial, some of us are breaking OUT! And you seem to know what you're doing, so....
Well I'm not gonna drop a full routine because I'm not a dermatologist, nor am I an esthetician, and as such I'm not comfy saying the advice I'm giving is iron clad
However I do feel comfortable giving a few general pointers I've picked up from watching other derms and estheticians on YouTube:
Sunscreen is a necessity. Yes even on cloudy days or when you're indoors. UV (ultraviolet) rays are the biggest factor in skin damage are the biggest cause for skin cancer. A mineral sunscreen uses naturally derived mineral filters to shield you from UV rays, whereas a chemical sunscreen will use synthesized chemical filters to do so. Both have their merits and work for different people
With that in mind, I'll be honest; shopping for a good sunscreen is hard. Especially if you have a dark skin tone. But honestly, if you decide to break the bank for anything in your routine, let it be your sunscreen.
LaRoche Posay is a brand that makes quite a few tinted mineral sunscreens (the tint is so a you're less likely to be on the receiving end of a whitecast) that I've read very good reviews from.
If chemical sunscreens are more up your alley and you're able to, I recommend looking into South Korean sunscreens
The most basic routine you can get is just a cleanser and sunscreen
Introducing an extra humectant to your skin can help a great deal with hydration! Humectants being ingredients that help preserve or attract moisture to the skin. A great one to look for both as a separate serums or as a component in moisturizers is hyaluronic acid!
Finding out your skin type is a good start to finding out which products might work for you. This guide from CeraVe is a great and easy start to that!
If you're acne prone and have tried a multitude of things to try and get rid of it (I myself had horrible acne growing up and even with antibiotics I took for it I never felt like I had it under control until the last couple years) then products containing salicylic acid are something I recommend. Ben
If you can I advise staying away from products containing artificial fragrance. Often times, those fragrances are achieved with essential oils which are normally formulated high amounts of alcohol which can be incredibly drying or irritating to the skin. If you turn the container around and look under the Ingridients label and you see "Fragrance" or "Parfume" or either "Limonene" or "Linolool" that's your tip off
That being said often times even if you have oilier skin, your skin CAN be needing some naturally derived or cold pressed oil to help balance things out! A brand called The Ordinary has a 1 oz bottle of rosehip seed oil that I use every night, just two drops combined with my moisturizer is enough
Above all else: everyone's skin is different and what works for my skin is not necessarily going to work for you
I also highly recommend checking out the following people as they're who I watch constantly when I'm looking for products as well as info:
Dr. Dray - Board certified dermatologist on YouTube and immensely knowledgeable
Dr. Alexis Stephens - Another board certified dermatologist on YouTube who is also very knowledgeable but places a focus on skincare for black people and other darker skintones
Cassandra Bankson - Medical esthetician who is open about her struggles with acne and has a lot of videos relating to such
Michelle Wong/Lab Muffin Beauty Science - Chemistry PhD and self described skincare nerd who has a lot of videos relating to why certain ingredients react with our skin the way they do as well as just the science behind cosmetics in general
#venswers#Anonymous#i realize i went past my initial disclaimer here but like...i have learned some things#tbh anon if you have any more questions or anyone else does please feel free to send them my way#just know that again my advice is no substitute for consultation with a dermatologist and i recommend seeing one if you have the means!

look your best: lips
Lips. My lips tend to get dry in the colder weather and as it has gotten chilly where I live, I pay extra attention to my lips. I don’t have one holy grail product for lip moisturization, but I look for lip balms with SPF. I’m currently using Aquaphor Lip Protectant. Look for products with hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, glycerin and shea butter. Some lip balms will contain menthol, camphor or phenol to make your lips feel cool and tingly, but I would avoid using those products, because they are potentially irritating and drying. I used to use sugar scrubs on my lips, but they were too harsh for me and left me with small tears on my lips. Now I just take a warm wash cloth and gently go over them. You can also use soft bristles toothbrush. Every night before bed I either apply LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask or a lip balm followed by a layer of Vaseline. If I’m wearing lipstick which I rarely do now cause, you know, masks and all, I prefer to use oil based cleansers to take it off. Oat Cleansing Balm by The Inkey List works really well for me.
Avoid picking your lips! This is a hard one to quit if you are doing it, but pulling of the dry skin can lead to bigger tears and bleeding.
Harsh scrubs can lead to the same result. Be careful with coffee or sugar based scrubs, they can be too much for your lips.
The skin on your lips is very thin compared to the rest of your face. Your regular exfoliating products for your face are too concentrated for your lips, however you can use your hydrating skincare on your lips.
Another bad, habit a lot of people have is licking your lips. It’s a big no-no, because saliva dries out the moisture lips have. Try to break this habit by replacing licking your lips with applying lip balm.
Keep yourself hydrated throughout the day. Add fruit, berries, cucumber and mint to your water to mix it up.

since some people have trouble with skincare here is skincare 101 aka the most longest ask you’ve probably ever had. disclaimer: i have combination skin and acne prone skin.
when you’re beginning your skincare routine start with a cleanser, a moisturizer, and an spf. after you’ve got that down then you can add treatments and actives. adding too much at once or using too many actives can freak your skin out. always wash your hands throughly before you wash your face. i use the fab pore purifying foam cleanser by soap and glory in the morning and the acne defense cleanser by pacifica at night. they’re 12 and 10 dollars on ulta.com. drug store brand like neutrogena, clearasil, and cerave are also good options. for high end brands i like peter thomas roth and paula’s choice. i use the moisture rescues refreshing gel cream by garnier as my moisturizer. it’s about $6 on amazon. the green is for normal to combo skin and the pink for dry skin. contrary to popular belief even if you have oily skin you need a moisturizer. and eye cream is overrated. usually they’re just expensive moisturizers and you get less product in the container, but if you think eye creams help you then go for it.
sunscreen is your best friend! whatever other skincare products and treatments you use will not matter if you don’t protect your skin. i use the neutrogena ultra sheer dry touch spf 100+ since i have super pale skin. i got it off amazon for like $8. i use this everyday. in the summer, winter, rainy days, when i’m not going outside. i don’t want to be looking like a leather couch at 35. you can use spf 50, 70, 45 as long as you’re using spf that’s what matters. skin cancer is a real thing. if i’m not wearing makeup i will reapply the neutrogena sunscreen, but if i am wearing makeup i will use the ulta wannabe active spf 50 setting spray. just remember to close your eyes and hold your breath when you apply.
for treatments i love the brands the inkey list and the ordinary. both are very affordable brands. i recommend the ordinary’s aha/bag peeling solution. it’s a chemical exfoliater that you put on your skin for no more than 10 minutes once a week. it gets rid of dead skin cells and helps with texture. physical exfoliaters like scrubs are ok but it depends on the brand. st ives apricot scrub is a big no no since the beads are uneven and jagged which can cause micro tears in the skin and hurt your skin in the long run. i also recommend the inkey list retinol. retinol is a derivative of vitamin A and helps reduce signs of early aging and acne scars as well as brighten your skin so it doesn’t look dull and sickly.
sheet masks are also a good skincare item to have. i like the ones by tonymoly and miss spa. there are so many types for so many skin concerns. clay masks are really good for oily skin. i recommend the aztec indian healing clay mask which is also good for acne.
unfortunately makeup wipes can do more harm then good. they don’t actually get all of the makeup off and can cause premature wrinkles since you’re tugging and rubbing at the skin with them. removing makeup with micellar water, the original makeup remover cloth, or a second cleaner is a better option. i know it’s hard for many people, myself included, but stop picking at your skin. those blackhead and pimples look so poppable, but realistically your just going to give yourself acne scars. plus, you could spread bacteria from on area of the skin to the other. spot treatments like pimple patches and drying lotions are better options if you don’t want to invest in extraction tools and use them properly.
skincare is really important and we all have to learn sometime. even though i’m only 21 i care a lot about anti aging because looking like a leather couch at 35 is not what i want for my life. i think it’s better to prevent skincare problems than to treat them. youtubers i really like who make videos about this stuff are dr dray, doctorly, and mixed makeup. when you look good, you feel good. when you feel good, you look good. 💞💖
You're incredible 😘😘😘 thanks

Oily skin anon here...Yeah, effaclar is great and not too stripping like a lot of acne products can be. I've tried the cleansers and the salicylic & glycolic acid serum. Unfortunately, the moisturizer is nothing special. Honestly, I've never had much luck finding a decent moisturizer. I'm currently using one of the toleriane line, which at least doesn't have fragrance. As for sensitive, red skin anon, I know they have a cream for rosacea and my mother uses one called kerium for red and flaky skin. She seems happy with it!
hi again anon! love talking acne and oily skin, and I don’t do it enough smdh. so lets talk moisturizers because they are important as fuck and often misunderstood by like everyone, especially people with oily skin. this is something that imo can exacerbate skin concerns and make oily skin oilier/dry skin drier/etc. so I’m gonna talk a bit about WHY they are important and then I will get into what different skins might need, and what you might consider trying.
the main purpose of a moisturizer is to lock in moisture (lol) and prevent transepidermal water loss (water evaporating through your skin’s top layers, aka your epidermis). without getting too technical, your skin has this handy thing called a moisture barrier/acid mantle that is integral to maintaining healthy skin. our skin’s barrier is naturally acidic due to sebum production (so oil) and sweat, around a 5 pH, to protect our bodies from viruses and bacteria.
so when we talk about stripping our skin of its natural oils, you know that squeaky clean feeling? that’s bad. it’s actually damaging your moisture barrier, making your skin more alkaline and leaving your skin vulnerable to germs and irritation. this is very common in dry skin, but people with oily, acne-prone skin have been sold so much nonsense for ages - the charcoal masks, baking soda cleansers and exfoliants, pore strips etc all spring to mind - and so often they will strip their skin’s natural oils and then send their sebum production into overdrive to compensate. this is why many people with oily skin actually find introducing certain kinds of oils into their skincare helps control oil production - sort of like tricking your skin into thinking it already made enough oil.
and to be clear, all skins need a good balance of water and oil - in fact this is what decides your skin type.
when skin is dry it lacks oil. normal skin has a equal balance of water and oil. oily skin has too much oil. combination skins have some areas that are one type and others that are another type. sensitive skin is also a skin type and it tends to be dry. your skin type doesn’t really change, although as we age our skin does produce less sebum over time. this is why people with oilier skin tend to look younger.
all skins can be sensitized and dehydrated - think moisture = oil and hydration = water. these are conditions, not skin types, because they can go away with treatment. my skin is always going to be somewhat dry even if it needs less oil during the summer and through good skin care. thanks genetics XD
if I don’t drink enough water, my skin will look crepe-y and older because I am dehydrated. thanks to environmental factors like pollution, stuff I put into my body, my stress levels, allergens, the amount of sun I get, etc - my skin can get more sensitized and irritated. when we deal with that stuff, the condition goes away (until the next time).
so all of that out of the way, what do the skin types need in moisturizers? so all of this is variable and depends on what other products are being used.
dry skin needs an oil-based moisturizer, non-negotiable. dry skin NEEDS to feed that acid mantle to prevent irritation, infection, etc. a thicker ointment is a great option for dry skin (like the cerave healing ointment I stan, it’s very lightweight and doesn’t have lanolin so it really is great for all skins). normal skin needs a good balanced moisturizer, often a light cream as opposed to an ointment or a lotion.
oily skin needs LESS oil in a moisturizer than dry skin does. that doesn’t mean NO oil, and again I do think that some topical oils are beneficial to oily skin, but generally speaking a lighter, water-based lotion is going to be better.
some moisturizers that I recommend for oily skin (besides the cerave healing ointment):
neutrogena hydro boost
dermalogica active moist - I am certified in dermalogica and while I don’t love all of their moisturizers I think this one is great. oily skinned folks lucked out.
glow recipe pink juice moisturizer - I actually have a mini bottle I use during the day under my SPF because my facial skin is pretty balanced at the moment. this does have fragrance but I am not opposed to fragrance by default (does the fragrance have other purposes - ie preservative, does it irritate my asthma, obviously do I have issues with that particular brand, etc. I want to talk about why fragrance (and other ingredients tbh cough parabens) isn’t inherently evil at some point because it’s all a matter of labeling practices, and clinique - a fragrance-free brand I worked for which works so well for so many people, is a NO NO for me)
I have also heard really good things about the cerave hydrating hyaluronic acid serum as a moisturizer for oily skin but I haven’t used it myself YET. if it is at all similar to my beloved b-hydra serum by (blegh) drunk elephant (eurghhh) then it’s a go.
belif aqua bomb is a good one, too
clinique’s dramatically different hydrating jelly is probably my favorite product from when I worked for the brand
on rosacea, I want to be clear that because rosacea is a medical condition it is important that if someone thinks they might have it they go to a medical professional to get it diagnosed and treated clinically. same thing with cystic acne (lol not to be a total hypocrite).
here are some really good videos from two actual dermatologists online who I really respect:
dr dray (so a lot of her videos have sponsorships but like who cares, she is clear about it and a dermatologist) - best oily skincare (sponsored by walmart i know guys but like it’s a good video), 10 best products from lrp, best sunscreens for oily skin
dr vanita rattan (specialized in skin of color) - oily skin moisturizers, cleansers for oily skin, best sunscreens for oily skin, all of her videos omfg
anyway wow hope this helped!

My 10% Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser is burning
I[23] had severe acne since teenage, have zits, pimples, whiteheads, blackheads, all of it. My acne was gone when my aunt sent me a neutrogena clear pore cleanser/mask when I was on 3rd year HS. I stopped using it after it ran out since it is not available on my country and we are poor. I never know anything about skincare back then. I just realised this month that it is the benzoyl peroxide that works for me because I've literally used anything and I remembered I had a good skin back on 3rd year. I think benzoyl peroxide is not much offered here on the drugstores shelf here in my country so I have not really remembered it much.
I recently purchased panoxyl 10% benzoyl peroxide cleanser, differin, and CeraVe moisturizer. I use on AM: 10% BP, CeraVe PM, on PM: 10% BP, CeraVe PM then Differin. I use the way Dr. Dray apply moisturiser, on damp skin.
I've been using this since December 5 and I dont feel drying or burning back then. Just this December 18, around 3 days ago, it starts burning and drying so much. I chose wash so that it has short contact. It is now on the point that it dries even my eyelids. I don't apply the cleanser on my eyelids even differin, but maybe when I rinse it, it contacts.
I know I should've bought with lower percentage, but I just based my decision on the research about cleanser vs the leave on, and my deduction from that is if im gonna use cleanser, I should go with the higher percentage, and if Im gonna use leave on, I'm just gonna use lower percentage.
I don't really care on the burning or drying of my skin if this is normal but I'm kinda bothered with my eyelids and my whole face is kinda raw. I'm gonna go change to nighttime only for benzoyl peroxide. Someone let me know if you think it is normal since I am on 3rd-ish week. Any advice is welcome too. Any tips for protection and/or to hydrate my eyelids again. I think it works because I purged last week and now I dont have any active acne at all, it's just that my face is kinda raw and my eyelids, around mouth and near ears are dry. I want to utilise the 10% BP since money doesn't grow from trees and I paid imported price for it. Sorry for the structure of my post and thanks in advance!

Changelog
07/02/18 - I put extra Primera Soothing Cream on my neck last night (usually use leftovers on my finger) and noticed a new big pimple on my neck today. I did notice this cream giving me pimples when I used to use it twice a day (AM & PM) and now thinking of trying a different moisturizer as I prefer a cream that doesn't make me break out. - I also wanted to note that the Etude house soon jung cleanser is good (doesn't make me break out) in comparison to the Innisfree Blueberry cleanser, which I suspect was the culprit of the cystic acne (they have stopped since replacing cleansers). I think i'll use the Innisfree to clean my makeup brushes and sponges. -I've been stressed the last week and not sleeping well so that may also be contributing to the new pimples today (nose, right cheek cc - this one keeps reoccuring ever since I started BHA, above right eyebrow).
08/02/18 I want to see if butylene glycol is the cause of all my CCs and pimples so will cut down on products that contain it in the top of the ingredients list. The COSRX Sunscreen and Dr Jart cream have it but mid to low on the ingredient list. I also want to introduce only one product at a time so I'll be starting with moisturiser. Fingers crossed! 🤞 AM: replaced Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% with Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream. PM, PM - AHA, AM - Vit C: replaced Primera Soothing Cream with Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream.
16/02/18 PM: added La Roche-Posay Anti-dark spot concentrate serum.
22/02/18 It's been 2 weeks since I stopped products containing butylene glycol (listed early in ingredients list). There has been a massive improvement: less number of pimples (and with the odd few they are small, disappear quick and aren't cystic) and no new CCs. I've got one last, old CC on my jawline that is on it's way to disappearing. I can tell because it's becoming hard and the others became hard and dropped off. It's a shame, I quite liked the Primera Soothing Sensitive Cream but butylene gylcol is listed second on the ingredients. 😥 I'll use it on my arms and legs, although it wasn't cheap I rather not get anymore closed comedones -shudder- so glad they're going away. I'm going to go through my wishlist and remove any products I added impulsively, and any that contain butylene glycol in the top 5 of the ingredients list. Avoiding butylene gylcol will greatly reduce what Korean skincare products I can use as a lot of Korean companies use butylene gylcol. I also have noticed my face has become a lot brighter and I think its the combined use of the Dr Jart Ceramidin (licorice root) and vitamin C. ✌️ AM: replaced The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% & HA 2% with Derma E AHA Overnight Peel. I'll use TO Lactic Acid on my arms and legs.
23/02/18 Just wanted to note that I have not touched the 2 Sol Duna Tiger Repairing Ampoule since dropping high butylene glycol products (8/2/18) because it also contains it. It's listed 7th on the ingredients list but I've been too scared to use the ampoule, which is a shame because I like the benefits of Centella Asiatica. I've noticed my neck has been getting wrinkles 😱 I feel like I have excess skin there so it looks saggy..I've decided to use TO Matrixyl on my neck and use the Derma E eyecream I got during Priceline's 40% off skincare sale. PM: added Derma E Hydrating Eye Creme. PM: removed 2 Sol Duna Tiger Repairing Ampoule
26/02/18 After watching this video on 'How to read skincare ingredients by Dr Dray' I've decided to stop using the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop & TIAM Signature C due to their ingredients. I had also read more than once, about these products on blogs, about their ingredients. I've used both for about 1 month now and haven't really noticed any benefits from using them (only noticed brightening in my face from starting Dr Jarts Ceramidin cream). I'm not sure where i'll use these products, maybe on my arms and legs if im bothered. I'm considering trying my Rohto Melano CC next (spotted only on hyperpigmentation) however am a little scared as it contains butylene glycol. I think I might try it next week. AM - C: removed vit C routine.
02/03/18 I have a large hyperpigmentation mark left by the cyst I had on my right cheek (was it last month? It started after I tried the Innisfree Blueberry Cleanser). Since I'm dropping my old vit C routine I want to test out my Rohto Melano CC Concentration Measures Essence. I'll be taking weekly photos and if this works, it'll be in my mini review for it 😊. AM: added Rohto Melano CC Concentration Measures Essence. PM: replaced La Roche-Posay Anti-dark spot concentrate serum with Rohto Melano CC Concentration Measures Essence.
04/03/18 I've decided to move my PM BHA routine (for my nose) to a separate post since I don't do it often or change it often.

More skin care talk
Okay, so after talking with one of my cousins, who happens to be a board certified, practicing dermatologist (as well as watching Dr. Dray’s videos on YouTube), I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to simplify my skin care routine. Apparently, less is more when it comes to skin care, and you really don’t need all those fancy products that are marketed towards “the skin care you NEED!” I should have known, because the makeup industry is the same way. Of course, if you wanna use a lot of products, that’s fine, too! It’s your skin and everyone should do what works best for them!
My problem is that I never know where to start in regards of a skincare routine, and when I go to Ulta or Walmart/CVS/Walgreens, I become very overwhelmed by all the products. On top of that, I have very sensitive skin. It’s also dry, but oily, if that makes sense. So finding the right products for my skin care needs can be a bit tricky. I’m still tweaking my routine, and thank God that I can get affordable, good quality products at the drugstore, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to do this. There’s no way in hell I’m paying $50 for a facial cleanser when I can get one that is just as good, if not better, for half the price. Expensive does not always equal better (and I’m quoting my cousin on this).
If i discussed my daily skin care routine, would it bother/annoy you guys? I don’t want to get on anyone’s nerves. It’s just something I think is fun.
