LMAO ANYWAYS! I’ve been reading a lot of fics lately (small ones, one shots basically) and it’s been getting me into that creative headspace I’ve been missing. I’m finally almost done with one of my many requests (I’m so sorry ya’ll 😭) and I hope to have it up SOON!

I’m not rushing this, I’m letting my brain control how much and what I’m able to write and that’s it. I don’t wanna push and then be in a slump again, ya’ll deserve better than that.

It blows my mind it’s been over a year since I’ve uploaded a fic. Saying it out loud makes me cringe because I used to be decently consistent on getting works out. The life of a full time employee I guess ???

I have been thinking a lot about this idea as I prepare for my spring and summer show season. It’s amazing to me that no matter how long I have been working as an artist, I still find myself fearing the idea of putting my creative work out there. Being brave is the hardest part of my personal creative process. I have to make a conscious effort to overcome my fear every time before I push the post button, send my application in, or write something here. One of the things that has helped me manage this fear is getting really clear on my core beliefs surrounding my work. Even though it's uncomfortable and I'm afraid of putting my work out there, deep down I really do believe in the importance of documenting my creative work. Not only as is it an iterative daily practice, but it is a way to connect with others and add to the creative community. I really believe that sharing our work helps fuel new ideas and that not only helps ourselves, but can help others. I see creativity as a flow between the inputs we receive and the interpretation we output.
