she's terrified in the first pic. the most vulnerable we've ever seen her. even after her beating from Vi in the bar fight she's alone and able to pick herself up. but in the scene of Jinx's breakdown she's completely at the mercy of someone else. injured, on her knees, weaponless, knowing that the last time Jinx had a breakdown like this she shot someone without hesitation, knowing that for all her loyalty to the cause this could ultimately be the end of her- shot dead by the kid who is also the figurehead of the revolution without anyone to remember her. but in the very NEXT FUCKING SCENE she's back on her feet helping Jinx break Isha and the Zaunites out of prison and willing to defend them both with a single arm. ohh Riot when i catch you

you may have heard of guard dog coded ghost.

but have you considered... puppy coded reader?

reader who simon pursued by following around initially. wooing them by his strength of personality and charisma alone (likely with a lot of help from soap tbh). so when they're finally a couple that adores each other, the reader ends up following him around as well. much to the surprise of the 141 who likely joked that simon is freaking the poor reader out prior.

if they're both military, it becomes a bit of a joke within the 141 where it's like watching two puppies chase each other's tails. if reader is a civvie, it's with the inclusion of the reader's friends getting worried and thinking that the reader is being harassed and stalked by a man they never saw before (they didn't know that the reader and simon are a thing now).

GuardDog!Simon Riley who acts like a well trained dog for you. you tell Simon to come, he’ll be by your side in an instant. if you tell Simon to bite? he’ll maul. he listens to his pretty little thing like he’s back on base - he’s always been good about following orders. he’s well trained in public too! he’ll fetch items he thinks you’ll like, buys you pretty little toys and accessories. he’ll sit and stay, arms wrapped around your waist as he pulls you to sit on his lap. the only command he struggles with is ‘off’, it’s just so hard to let go of you, puppy, it’s his job to make sure you’re safe!

GuardDog!Simon Riley who’s presence surrounds you constantly - from draping his jacket over you, making you use his shampoo and body wash, dangling his dog tags around your neck, biting and nipping at your neck to mark you up. his chest rumbles when you wear his clothes, too big on you. Simon treats you like his personal chew toy, a possessive gleam in his eyes when nips at your skin, red marks blooming when he pulls away. if you ever start to wander away from him he’ll gently loop his fingers under the chain of his dog tags, lightly tugging to bring your attention back to him. he’s not mad, puppies get distracted sometimes
