do you think abigail would ever ask claudia for the dark gift?

GREAT QUESTION i have thought about this a lot actually loll

from my standpoint, the two biggest aspects of abigail's character are that:

a) she is a survivor. this is why she helped her father and why she did what hannibal told her to for so long. this is also why she is such an effective manipulator as alana notes early in season 1- she says and what she needs to in order to get what she needs, whether that be information or safety or something else. it's an automatic survival mechanism more than anything else.

b) she craves normalcy. this is shown throughout the show- one of her first concerns when she comes out of her coma is that she won't be able to go to college and lose any shot at a normal life that she may have had previously. she also is incredibly willing to accept hannibal as a parental figure, and even hallucinates that he and alana are her parents when she takes the drugs hannibal gives her. she wants a normal life, a normal family, a normal home, etc.

I am choosing to pick up her story at the breaking point of mizumono. she has faked her death already, and now there is just about no chance of actually having a normal life. she also now understands just how vulnerable she is. basically this means that she would probably see the dark gift as not only an opportunity for a fresh start, but also as a powerful survival tool. so long story short, yes, she probably would ask claudia for the gift.

however, claudia is highly unlikely to want to give it to her because of what happened to madeleine (please help. i think i may have reverse engineered twilight.)
