Dr. Gradepocolypse vs Mr. Sack o'Potatoes

It was 11:50 PM. The class project was due in nine minutes, but it was hard for me to focus while working next to the beautiful girl. Her project was also almost finished, but a voice rang over the intercom.

“Good evening,” Dr. Gradepocolypse croaked. “To punish procrastinators, I will be cutting power to Metroville City! At midnight, my freeze ray with freeze your grades! If one student submits their work, I’ll consider myself defeated. Good luck!”

And then, the power was cut. The girl’s computer died. Panic ensued.

I pulled my bag of infinite potatoes closer. I wasn’t going to sit idly by like a couch potato – I was a member of the Super Hero Organization, and I was going to help.

Postmodernist-Artmaking

Postmodernism is a broad movement that developed in the mid- to late 20th century. It is the idea clarifying concepts that overlap, and sometimes explained by contrasting it to modernism, however, modernism and postmodernism co-exist today and influence one another. The concepts being used can also be useful for making art according to Barrett. For example; Simulate is to imitate or to copy. The simulacrum copies of things that no longer have an original concept. This concept was developed by Jean Baudrillard, a French theorist of postmodernism, is a prominent theme explored by postmodernist. Cartoon figures such as Edna Mode from the movie Incredibles is just one example of simulacra. Edna is based off of a costume designer, Edith Head. Edith Head herself has worked hard and crafted many unique designs that lead her to earning 8 academy awards between 1949-1973. Postmodernism art-making is a movement contradicts the aspects of others, it can be shown through more than just Simulate. It can also be seen in intermediate, multimedia art, photography, conceptual art, and etc.

Week 2! October 13-19

Bare with me guys! I’m still getting in the habit of blogging every week. Hopefully soon, I can do this every day.

School is getting more and more stressful every day. Time is running out, I don’t have that much time left and I’m not really sure what I really want to do. I have had an exam every single week since the last week of September.. HOW ANNOYING! I haven’t had any real time to myself and relax. 

So back to my week. I had a stats exam. That was extremely difficult... My boyfriend stuck it out with me and helped me study for about 4-5 hours just learning math. I guess in reality I probably shouldn’t have waited the day before to study.. LESSON LEARNED! He is tutoring me in stats and we agreed that we should probably start studying earlier so I have more time to understand the material. So I guess the best part to come out of this is that I still continue to have the best support system and despite the frustration and stress I have, he is still right beside me pushing me the best that I can be. 

On top of all this school work, track is getting a harder and harder everyday. Coach sometimes puts a little too much on us and there are days when I just wanna quit and fall, but another part of me also wants to push myself pass my limits and just get through it. Not sure how well thats going to work out but I guess we’ll find out for the weeks to come. 

I guess overall in my week although I had a lot of lows, there were a lot of highs. Even though school is kicking my ass, track is kicking my ass... I ended my week by going to one of my friends wedding, and my boyfriend as my date topped it all off. I couldn’t ask a better way to end a hard week of school. But despite all this bs throughout the week, he never failed to put a smile on my face or did a little quick pick me up to turn my day around. 

So thats it for my week 2! I hope from here on out it only gets better from here and we have ore highs than the lows!
