The Voltaire-Rousseau Beef aka V v. JJ part III.
Tumblr media
for @stars-in-the-night , @headsinsand and other great (and amazingly patient) readers
part 1 ; part 2 ; part 3 ; part 4
7. THE ORPHANAGE (to be read in Eliza Hamilton's voice)
The one thing from his personal life that Rousseau is probably best remembered for is the fact that he gave up all five children he had with his long-term partner, Thérèse, to a Parisian orphanage. One after the other, in what could be called a rapid succession, a simple case of salut and adieu.
The reasons he gave for his behaviour differ from ‘I have fallen with a bad crowd in Paris and this is just what people around me did’ and ‘I basically had no other option anyway’ (not true, he could have married Thérèse and try to make it work. Sure, money was tight, and someone could make a few snarky remarks about the first baby looking surprisingly big for a six-month old or whatever, but these things happened quite regularly. Also, Diderot married his working-class mistress despite his father’s stern disapproval. Just saying) to – now this comes up somewhat later in the Confessions and is significantly darker – ‘I really hated Thérèse’s family and thought it would be better to let my kids be raised by the state than be around them’.
If this was him trying to break a cycle of generational trauma though – perhaps one of the side of his own family as well –  I’d argue there were far better ways of going about it. There’s also potentially one even darker, quasi-psychoanalytical reason for this now infamous choice, but it’s probably best to steer clear of Freud. Nothing good usually comes out of it.
Tumblr media
Of course, doing something like this would make anyone seem like a douchebag, but a guy famous for writing a treatise on how to best raise children?* Guy who repeatedly argued that the single purpose of a woman’s life is to be a mother? Now that’s a hypocrisy so deliciously juicy that one simply cannot resist sharing it with the world!
*interestingly enough, he insists in the Confessions that he wanted to reveal this information in his On Education (aka Emile), and that in one of the book's passages, he alluded to this episode in such a way that he ‘basically confessed to it already’. I haven’t found that part yet, and I remain somewhat sceptical about whether this is truly the case.
8. SECOND INTERMEZZO: VOLTAIRE THE AVID HATE-READER
V on Julie, or the New Heloise: „silly, middle-class, dirty-minded and boring“
V on Profession of Faith of a Savoyard Vicar: „I read his On Education. These are reasonings of a stupid nurse in four volumes, of which forty pages directed against Christianity. They are among the most daring that have ever been written, [but] by virtue of inconsistency worthy of this head without a brain and this Diogenes* with no heart, he uttered as much abuse against the philosophers, as against Jesus Christ.“ (letter to Damilaville, 1762)
Tumblr media
*calling JJ ‘Diogenes’ was definitely a trend in the 1700s, and what seems like V’s go-to insult for him. Calling him a ‘lackey of Diogenes’ does potentially get a bit kink-shame-y though...
9. A MOUNTAIN AND AN AVALENCHE
The last post featured an earthquake in Portugal, now get ready for a distinctly Swiss natural disaster!
To be perfectly fair to Voltaire, although he was certainly not a person who was above spreading gossip, he did have a good reason to publish what he knew about Rousseau and let all hell break loose, since...
in Rousseau’s Letters Written from the Mountain published in 1763, JJ had exposed Voltaire as the author of the infamous Sermon of the Fifty, an anti-christian work that had the potential to get its author into serious trouble. Voltaire could not and would not let this slide – especially when he had the perfect weapon on his hands. Payback time!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Voltaire therefore went on to publish a short anonymous pamphlet titled Sentiments des Citoyens (aka How Citizens Feel – since JJ proudly called himself ‘citizen of Geneva’ in his works and he championed sentiments over reason – see, it’s all very clever!) in which he exposed details from Rousseau’s personal life. This of course included the most shocking, most hypocritical, and most memorable detail of all: Rousseau, Mr. Family First, Mr. Let’s-raise-precious-children-in-a-way-that-won’t-corrupt-their-natural-godness had dumped all of his offspring into a Parisian orphanage! Not so virtuous now, is it?
Interestingly, Rousseau never put two and two together and realised Voltaire was the real author of the fateful pamphlet. It would be interesting to see how he would react had he known.
That said, much like d’Alembert’s article on Geneva a couple of years earlier, the Sentiments des Citoyens led JJ to pick up a pen once again to do what he did best: to defend the poorest and most oppressed souls against the cruel and unjust world. Which usually just happened to be himself.
And thus, as Roger Pearson, an author of one of Voltaire's many biographies concludes:
“we have Voltaire to thank for (…) being the catalyst of Rousseau’s Confessions” which he calls “one of the world’s great autobiographies”
(no, not like that @chaotic-history. Though now I cannot unsee it every time I read the quote)
->
Tune in next time for the (mis)adventure in Britain which will feature:
another philosopher - David Hume - dragged into the mess
a fake letter from Frederick the Great (that was actually penned by the most messy gossip of a person in the 18th century)
a genuinely funny statue story with an appearance from d'Alembert

Socialism: Utopian and Scientific - Part 28
[ First | Prev | Table of Contents | Next ]
III - Historical Materialism
The materialist conception of history starts from the proposition that the production of the means to support human life and, next to production, the exchange of things produced, is the basis of all social structure; that in every society that has appeared in history, the manner in which wealth is distributed and society divided into classes or orders is dependent upon what is produced, how it is produced, and how the products are exchanged. From this point of view, the final causes of all social changes and political revolutions are to be sought, not in men's brains, not in men's better insights into eternal truth and justice, but in changes in the modes of production and exchange. They are to be sought, not in the philosophy, but in the economics of each particular epoch. The growing perception that existing social institutions are unreasonable and unjust, that reason has become unreason, and right wrong [1], is only proof that in the modes of production and exchange changes have silently taken place with which the social order, adapted to earlier economic conditions, is no longer in keeping. From this it also follows that the means of getting rid of the incongruities that have been brought to light must also be present, in a more or less developed condition, within the changed modes of production themselves. These means are not to be invented by deduction from fundamental principles, but are to be discovered in the stubborn facts of the existing system of production.
What is, then, the position of modern Socialism in this connection?
The present situation of society — this is now pretty generally conceded — is the creation of the ruling class of today, of the bourgeoisie. The mode of production peculiar to the bourgeoisie, known, since Marx, as the capitalist mode of production, was incompatible with the feudal system, with the privileges it conferred upon individuals, entire social ranks and local corporations, as well as with the hereditary ties of subordination which constituted the framework of its social organization. The bourgeoisie broke up the feudal system and built upon its ruins the capitalist order of society, the kingdom of free competition, of personal liberty, of the equality, before the law, of all commodity owners, of all the rest of the capitalist blessings. Thenceforward, the capitalist mode of production could develop in freedom. Since steam, machinery, and the making of machines by machinery transformed the older manufacture into modern industry, the productive forces, evolved under the guidance of the bourgeoisie, developed with a rapidity and in a degree unheard of before. But just as the older manufacture, in its time, and handicraft, becoming more developed under its influence, had come into collision with the feudal trammels of the guilds, so now modern industry, in its complete development, comes into collision with the bounds within which the capitalist mode of production holds it confined. The new productive forces have already outgrown the capitalistic mode of using them. And this conflict between productive forces and modes of production is not a conflict engendered in the mind of man, like that between original sin and divine justice. It exists, in fact, objectively, outside us, independently of the will and actions even of the men that have brought it on. Modern Socialism is nothing but the reflex, in thought, of this conflict in fact; its ideal reflection in the minds, first, of the class directly suffering under it, the working class.

LAB REPORT #312 — 'Tracker Jacker Venom': Composition and Application
Date of Submission: [REDACTED] Clearance Level: Tier-4 (Military/Medical) Secondary Review: Dr. Anton Frell, Dr. Saline Virtus Author's Note: This study reflects data extracted under controlled aggression protocols; all venom extracted from stabilized hives D12-114 through D12-117.
1. TAXONOMIC CLASSIFICATION
Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Arthropoda Class: Insecta Order: Hymenoptera Family: Vespidae Genus & Species: Vespa mortem Capitol Designation: Tracker Jacker
2. VENOM COMPOSITION
Primary Components:
Neurotoxin A5 ("Mortexin"): A synapse-destabilizing compound that induces hallucinatory cycles via serotonin receptor flooding. Histamine-accelerant Protein (HAP-3): Induces severe inflammation and increased capillary permeability, leading to rapid swelling and dermal pain. Retroactive Memory Trigger (RMT-7): Disrupts hippocampal stability, activating emotionally charged memories with distorted framing. Stabilizer Enzyme: Preserves venom integrity outside of biological containment up to 13 hours.
3. PATHWAY OF EFFECT
Upon injection (via sting), the venom enters the bloodstream within 4 seconds. The neurotoxin crosses the blood-brain barrier rapidly, localizing in the amygdala, hippocampus, and frontal cortex. Observable effects occur within 15–23 seconds.
Phase I – Neurological Overload: Tremors, confusion, pupil dilation, auditory hallucinations. Phase II – Hallucinogenic Response: Visual overlays of emotionally-charged hallucinations. Phase III – Emotional Collapse: Identity disruption, self-destructive ideation, paranoia.
In 82% of test subjects, the hallucinations persist beyond venom metabolization, suggesting long-term neural rewiring.
4. CASE STUDY: Subject T-098 (Peeta Mellark)
Dosage: 0.3 mL refined venom Method: Intravenous, controlled drip Response: Severe perceptual distortion within 12 seconds Verbal fixations on familiar anchors Long-term paranoia and identity inversion successfully induced Subject maintains affective inversion post-venom clearance
5. SYNTHETIC REPLICATION TRIALS
Version V6.2 : Successful in 3/5 trials; unstable in elevated temperature environments. Version V6.8 : Improved memory disruption, reduced inflammatory response; currently under ethical review. Further trials ongoing for oral and aerosolized delivery mechanisms.
6. CONCLUSION
Continued research is recommended into targeted fragmentation and programmed reformation using venom-adjacent compounds.

Tango is famous especially for the creations of various games made to entertain the various hermits(sometimes in hilarious ways) and various iron farms that support the local economy. Appreciated and used by all, once you enter the circle of friends of Tango it is certain that he will protect you fiercely like a male alpha lion defends his pride. It was one day like the others and Tango was supervising his creation called Decked out to see if all the mechanical parts were in working order. He was about to finish when he noticed an area that wasn’t there before. “When- when did i make this? Did i make this?” He peeked inside to find a strange hallway with many dioramas displaying different miniature buildings that he made in the past and a very large iron door at the end. “I didn't make this. Grian? Is this yours? Are you trolling me?” As he was looking around someone spoke to him: “I tried your game, very inspiring. Do you want to try mine?” Tango looked around but saw no one, he was alone. “Where are you? Did you build this? You are not Grian, aren’t you?” The voice smirked “No, but he accepted my challenge, as well as the others… ALL OF THEM.” Tango suddenly became worried: “What did you do?!” His yelling was filled with frustration. “Why don’t you find out? Come in.” The large iron door opened, slightly. Tango approached cautiously but when he placed his hand on the handle the world around him shifted and found himself in another room full of traps with new equipments on him: spikes from the ceiling, buzzsaws, wall flamethrowers and so on. “The rules are simple: to whoever finds me first i will realize that person most deep wish. Ready? Set… GO!” Tango, still bamboozled took a deep breath: “It’s READY… SET… NINER! You…!” Realizing that the voice wasn’t there anymore, he just clenched his teeth and pushed forward.

Hiranandani Unveils Tierra III – 5 Lakh Sq. Ft. of Managed Villa Plots in Chennai
Tumblr media
The demand for meticulously managed plots in Oragadam and across the country continues to rise as modern real estate investors seek not only premium plots but also superior services, investment security, and top-tier social and civic infrastructure. Recognizing this evolving need, the Hiranandani Group, with its legacy of over 40 years, has consistently set new benchmarks in real estate. Iconic developments such as Hiranandani Gardens in Mumbai and Hiranandani Estate in Thane have become synonymous with world-class township living, showcasing the Group’s commitment to excellence.
Following the success of two previous phases of plotted development at Hiranandani Chennai, the Group has now introduced Tierra III, catering to the growing demand for high-quality villa plots within an integrated township. Hiranandani Parks, spanning 360 acres in Oragadam, is a thoughtfully planned township that offers a fine blend of high-rise residences, neo-classical villas, and managed villa plots, all designed to create a vibrant community.
Tierra III, the newest phase of development, covers 25 acres and offers plot sizes ranging from 600 sq. ft. to 4,000 sq. ft. Staying true to the ‘managed plots’ concept, the development ensures a 100% clear title with immediate patta transfer, well-defined plot boundaries, and plug-and-play civic infrastructure for hassle-free development. To maintain the architectural harmony of the township, the project also provides villa design and build assistance, enabling homebuyers to craft residences that seamlessly blend with the township’s aesthetic appeal.
Recognizing Chennai’s real estate potential early on, Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani was among the first national developers to introduce villa-plotted developments with robust infrastructure in an integrated township. Commenting on the latest launch, Dr. Hiranandani stated, "Real estate, when approached with prudence and strategic management, remains one of the most secure investments globally. The launch of Tierra III at Hiranandani Parks brings nearly 5,00,000 sq. ft. of plotted development to this thriving township."
Adding to this, N. Shridhar, Director - Group Strategy, Hiranandani Group, highlighted Oragadam’s rapid economic transformation, stating, "Over the past five years, Oragadam has emerged as a key industrial and IT hub, expanding beyond its established automotive sector to include wind technology, IT/ITeS, and mobile phone manufacturing. This economic growth has fueled demand for high-quality housing, and Hiranandani Chennai has already delivered remarkable returns for early investors. Our future roadmap for the township includes new residential segments, further enhancing the vibrancy of the community."
Hiranandani Parks isn’t just a residential development—it is a holistic living environment offering world-class infrastructure and amenities. The township features The Indian Public School (TIPS), providing premium education, and Rela Hospital, a 200-bed advanced healthcare facility. Residents enjoy the convenience of Nilgiris Supermarket and multi-cuisine restaurants, alongside leisure facilities such as a 55-acre golf course, a grand clubhouse, and seven themed gardens. With these amenities, Hiranandani Chennai has emerged as a hub for fine living, blending luxury with functionality. For more information on Tierra III’s villa-plotted development and managed plots at Hiranandani Parks, visit www.hiranandaniparks.com.

Mrs. Bea Juice’s Journal #17
The revolution in France was decades in the making and tensions among the poorest class, the Third Estate, had been boiling over even before the violence started. Finally, with the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, the 10-year battle for liberty and reform officially began. We were grateful that the Americans, with their democracy in infancy, had already set an example of how to rebuke a monarchy with ideals of equality and the anger to enforce meaningful change.
In 1793, we watched from the gallows alongside many other curious ghosts as the guillotine’s blade came rushing down, cleanly separating the king's head from his body with a squelching chop. Louis XVI’s guide came for him immediately. The disgraced king, disoriented by the ground-level perspective of his newly detached head, repeatedly fumbled trying to retrieve it before departing for the Neitherworld. Little did he know his wife, the former queen Marie Antoinette, would struggle with decapitation the same way nine months later.
The revolution’s wrath reached beyond just the aristocracy, as its fervour sometimes devolved into a grab for power or personal retribution, and it was far from bloodless. Tens of thousands of lives were lost during the “Reign of Terror” alone with a series of massacres, public executions, and quiet deaths of neglected prisoners. Betelgeuse again volunteered to help with the sudden crush of new ghosts, guiding them to the waiting room, answering their questions, and processing their paperwork. He and Juno were nearly overwhelmed for months until the public execution of Maximilien Robespierre and his allies, once more by guillotine, promptly ended the Reign’s senseless violence in 1794. After being buried in the work Robespierre unknowingly created, Betel was particularly delighted to watch him meet his end in a pillory with the fall of a sharp, wide blade. Yet the revolution continued.
That is, until Napoleon Bonaparte seized power in a coup d’etat and established the Consulate in 1799. Incidentally, it's a historic myth that he was short. He was nearly 5 ‘7” which was average height for a man in the 1700’s. The best we can figure is that his soldiers' affectionate nickname for him, Le Petit Caporal or little corporal, spawned the misconception about his height that persisted for centuries. By the time Napoleon became “Emperor of the French” in 1804, the other European powers were already wary of him and the war machine he created to fuel his rapid rise to prominence.
Similarly, Betel's notoriety was also on the rise, and he was beginning to get summoned all over the continent. This forced him to stay up to date on other languages, like English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and even get more comfortable in German. He certainly didn’t mind that being a cunning linguist gave him opportunities to expand his international reputation as a scoundrel to dead women.
After Napoleon’s disastrous defeat in the Battle of Waterloo and his second exile, this time to Saint Helena in 1815, the Bourbon Restoration began with Louis XVIII taking the throne. Betel and I could only roll our eyes as the pendulum of history swung the opposite direction, from Consuls back to Kings. Luckily, now that the people had a taste of democracy, we knew a monarchy would be unsustainable, and we were proven right only a few decades later. Charles-Louis Napoléon Bonaparte, nephew to the former Petit Caporal, became President of France in 1848. But a lust for power must have run in the Bonaparte family. He later established the Second Empire and proclaimed himself "Emperor of the French" as Napoleon III in 1852. He would be the first president, second emperor, and last monarch of France.
This journal dovetails into a fanfiction epic that I'm posting chapter by chapter every week here:

Chapter 11, "The confession", is now up.

Atrumentuphytum Sp. “Glass Green” (The Inkpot Plant)
I have had the great fortune of coming across these plants in the weeks following my crash landing on the surface of Amadeus III. I was most disheartened to find my data gathering tools—personal recording device included— were destroyed upon landing, thankfully the sap of these succulent xenoflora function with great similarity to ink. For obvious reasons I have decided to name these plants Inkpot plants. It only seems fair they be the first species recorded on this planet given they are the sole reason for my current ability to document the life of Amadeus. Below you will find some observations on these plants:
The primary habitat of the Inkpot plant appears to be the silica rich fog deserts in which I landed. Indeed it seems that the seeds and outer shell of these plants are formed from this silica. From my observations the ink-like sap of these plants superheats under unknown conditions(most likely chemical, fueled by sunlight?) allowing additional material to expand the shell and grow the plant. The leading edge of the growth is sharp and gives these plants part of their inkwell shape. Growth appears to occur during the winter when the fog is more prevalent and the sun less intense. I also observed these plants shedding their stems, quills, and trichomes in the weeks leading up to the growing season.
The sap of these plants is highly viscous and carries a scent quite reminiscent of burning tar. Additionally I have witnessed the consumption of this plant by crumblejaw lead to the death of said via rapid dehydration. The tissues of this plant rapid and continuous vomiting leading to extreme dehydration and, being in a desert, death.
— Algernon Wimblethorp, Xenobotanist 1st class
Hi all!! This is the first of a series of pieces based on the plants I doodled in class. As you can see I’ve turned this into a what will (hopefully) be a long term spec bio project centered on Algernon Wimblethorp and their documentation of the various flora(and possibly fauna) of Amadeus III. There is additional lore for Ink plants that I’ll probably either add here at a later date or simply make another post about.

Hii its me again! I can't get enough of your writing ❤️
🧁:
I very proudly speak 4 languages (Danish, English, German and Spanish). I am ultra sarcastic, but i zone out all the time. I ride horses, and love rabbits.
Im 5,4, have semi long brown hair, that i dye semi permanent hair colors all the time. I love like 70 music, and have quite a big collection of records. My style is downtown. I play the drums and piano. And im a hopeless romantic
Ok thats its! Dont feel pressured to do this, since you've already done requests for me ❤️❤️
thank you for sending in this request, darling! and don’t feel bad that i’ve already done requests for you, i’m aiming to complete as much of these as possible so it isn’t a problem at all!
from your description, i ship you with, Sirius Black!
i. your sarcasm in class is what draws sirius to you. he doesn’t know if you mean it but some of your sarcastic remarks have him clutching at his stomach in pain from how much it sends him into boisterous, uncontrollable laughter. you notice him a lot too since he can’t stop laughing at the things you say and only intend to utter under your breath, but you swear he has the ears of an elephant; he can hear you no matter how quiet you are.
ii. it isn’t long before you and sirius become close friends and he’s walking around with his arm strewn across your shoulders and grinning ear to ear as he converses with you. sometimes, the two of you would get into little bickering fights that aren’t too important and are rather mundane but since he can speak french (which you don’t understand) and you can speak danish, german and spanish, you simply take your pick of whichever language to argue at him with since he wouldn’t understand you while he would argue in rapid french. it sounds like a serious fight but the two of you always ultimately end up giggling with each other.
iii. sirius loves when you try a new semi-permanent hair colour, he thinks each one looks good on you and begs for you to dye his hair a semi-permanent colour too. the only problem was that he had really dark hair so it wasn’t as effective in showing. this lead to you spending multiple nights using your potions knowledge to somehow create a semi-permanent hair dye that he can use on his dark hair. this eventually leads to one of the marauders' greatest pranks of all time. seeing so many of the nasty slytherin students walking around with semi-permanent neon green hair, all for their ‘slytherin pride’ was so much fun to see.
iv. obviously, sirius adores your clothing choice as well. It looks so good on you and matches his style well. whenever you could wear casual clothing around the castle, sirius would seek you out to see what you had worn for the day and so that he could show you what he was wearing for the day as well. many people thought you were cute together and asked if you were in a relationship when sirius had you sitting in between his legs, reading a book in the common room and nuzzling his face into your neck from behind. “yeah, we’re together,” sirius answers for both of you as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. you may have missed something somewhere and turned to sirius for an explanation but his answering kiss was explanation enough.
vi. you being able to play piano is a classic but being able to play drums is impressive to sirius and he swears that he could listen to you all day drumming up beats while doing tricks with your drumsticks. you even teach him a thing or two on it, he’s not as good as you but he feels proud every time he completes a short beat and you praise him endlessly. he’s beaming brighter than the sun by the end of it all.
vii. sirius isn’t a hopeless romantic but by god do you make it easy for him to want to be one. being a ladies man, he knew how to get girls but was never committed. and since you were a hopeless romantic, you could see through his earlier disingenuous acts. you assured him that he didn’t have to push himself for you and he gave in….for a few days only. after that short time, he was determined to win you over with all the actions he used to deem as cheesy before you happened to him. now he quite enjoys picking flowers to make a small, handpicked bouquet for you or sending little origami notes to you with cute romantic sayings he thought of for you or spending his saved up money on matching jewellery for you two to wear together. he was especially enthusiastic about it when you littered kisses all over his face and held him close after every small romantic act.
viii. no honourable mention here, sorry my lovely, i quite like you with sirius black ;)

Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge - DLC Aircraft Ideas
I know some people are gonna look at this and say "WTF man, Crimson Skies came out in 2003... it's not getting any new content!"
True. But there's always a possibility- however small- that the game could be re-released on modern consoles, or (God willing) get a full-blown remake. In which case, the devs could always add new planes.
The original PC game had 17 playable aircraft, most of which did not make it into the Xbox game. Only 2 planes, the Devastator and the Brigand, would ship with the game. 4 others would be added as DLC for online multiplayer only.
I picked out 7 aircraft from the original PC game that I would like to see added if Crimson Skies gets a remake, and outlined what class I think they should be, and what weapons they could have.
It'll probably never happen, but hey... I can dream. And remember, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge was one of the top 5 game on the OG Xbox Live, right alongside Halo 2 and Star Wars: Battlefront II. So I'd say it has a better chance of getting a remake than most.

Raven
Class: Interceptor
Primary Weapon: Six Machine Guns
Secondary Weapon: RF-Guided "Beeperless" Seeker Rockets
Secondary Ammunition: 20 Rockets
A fast and agile fighter with six machine guns and highly accurate radio-guided Seeker Rockets that track targets aggressively. Seeker Rockets function like the Halo 2 Rocket Launcher; hold down the trigger to lock on to enemies, and release to fire.
The name of the Seeker Rocket is a reference to the "Beeper-Seeker" rocket from Crimson Skies lore. Whereas the Beeper-Seeker uses a two-stage system, firing a high-velocity "Beeper" rocket that emits a radio signal, followed up with a high-explosive "Seeker" rocket that homes in on that signal, these new rockets are able to track their targets without the need for a beeper unit; hence, "Beeperless".

Class: Dogfighter
Primary Weapon: Eight Machine Guns
Secondary Weapon: "Detonator III" Incendiary Rockets
Secondary Ammunition: 15 Rockets
Armed with more machine guns than any other plane in the game, along with a secondary rocket that sets enemy planes on fire for damage over time. So you get the best of the Devastator and the Bandito all in one plane.

Class: Zep-Killer
Primary Weapon: Four "Scorpion" Cannons
Secondary Weapon: Dual Triggers
Based on Paladin Blake's customized Warhawk from the tie-in novel, this modified Warhawk is outfitted with four standard cannons that fire in pairs, just like the Dauphin and the Bulldog. However, when the Left Trigger is held, all four cannons will fire simultaneously at an increased rate of fire for massive damage.

Bloodhawk
Class: Interceptor
Primary Weapon: Four Machine Guns
Secondary Weapon: XL-1 "Lancer" Laser Cannon
Secondary Ammunition: 100 Battery Charge
The standout feature of the Bloodhawk is it's secondary laser, which is extremely accurate and has unlimited ammo, but has to recharge it's battery after firing for long periods of time. Ammo starts and 100 and counts down to 0 as you fire. The longer you fire, the longer it takes to fully recharge.

Kestrel
Class: Zep-Killer
Primary Weapon: Five Cannons
Secondary Weapon: Aerial Torpedoes
Secondary Ammunition: 15 Torpedoes
Turret: Twin Cannons
As pure a Zep-Killer as can be, the Kestrel boasts five rapid-fire cannons, as well as two more cannons in a rear turret a la the Brigand. It's secondary weapon is a rocket-propelled Aerial Torpedo that deals tremendous damage to zeppelins, but has no magnetic lock-on, making it all but useless against enemy planes.
However... if you do somehow manage to score a hit on an enemy plane with the Aerial Torpedo (whether by skill, or dumb luck) it's a 1-hit kill no matter how high your opponents armor rating.
Bell Mk. II
Tumblr media
Valiant
Class: Zep-Killer
Primary Weapons: Six Cannons
Secondary Weapon: Grenade Launcher
Secondary Ammunition: 30 Grenades
An exceptional Zep-Killer with six cannons right out of the box, and a secondary grenade launcher. Grenades deal massive damage to zeppelins and ground targets, but are less useful against enemy planes than other Zep-Killer weapons.
Marquette PR-1
Tumblr media
Defender
Class: Interceptor
Primary Weapons: Six Machine Guns
Secondary Weapon: "Flyswatter" Flak Rockets
Secondary Ammunition: 20 Rockets
A capable fighter in the right hands, the Defender is armed with six machine guns and Flak Rockets. Flak Rockets have the damage of the Devastator's Magnetic Missiles with the projectile speed of the Bandito's Fireball Cannon, making them highly accurate and easy to use.

From the rise of digital startups to mass-market retail brands embracing new technology, the world seems to be constantly teetering on the edge of upheaval. And emerging markets are just one example of this trend. Whether it’s due to rapid urbanisation, cheap access to technology or some other factor, emerging markets have become a hotbed for innovation. With more than half of the world’s population living in these areas as well as a rapidly growing middle class and rapidly expanding industries, these areas provide fertile ground for disruptive brands looking for ways to establish a brand. With that in mind, trying to establish a brand in an emerging market entails different things than operating in a developed market. For one thing, you must think beyond your local market and see yourself as part of an interconnected global ecosystem. You also need to consider what your brand will actually look like when operating in that area—something that you may not even be able to answer yet if you’re just starting out with your business venture. If you want to establish a brand in an emerging market, read on… Considerations to establish a brand It is difficult to establish a brand. Things become more challenging when you attempt to do the same in a well-established industry. It is particularly true in the case of new markets. Therefore, you can assume that new markets are hard to conquer. It is tough to establish your brand in an emerging market. To succeed, you must find efficient strategies. You must also be aware that establishing a brand in an emerging market can be daunting. I. Identify the Consumer Base The consumer base of an emerging market is particularly significant. For example, India and China provide significant opportunities. It is critical to concentrate on your market when you want to be successful. It is critical to identify the consumer base. Although big brands dominate certain parts of the economy, they do not always dominate the entire market. Therefore, if you are intent on being successful, it is critical that your brand emphasises a certain section of the economy. You maintain your consumer's attention on what you create. It also safeguards quality standards for your products. This enables you to market your services rapidly to your target market. II. Value Justification Emerging markets are sceptical of world-renowned brands due to the fact that these brands compete against local products that they developed. Simply put, to conquer this cynicism, you must conduct some brand upliftment. To put it simply, you must convince your clients that your products provide “value justification.” By educating them about the importance of your offerings, you will gain their recognition. They will realize that your products provide value, pleasure, and fulfillment in their lives. It is something that none of the local brands are providing. You must tailor your product to the needs of each particular emerging market without altering it too much. III. Embrace Tradition There is a big difference between an established market and an emerging market. The latter does not use advanced or sophisticated technology. So, do not rely on technological marketing tactics and instead embrace tradition, opting for guerilla tactics and good old-fashioned word-of-mouth. According to experts who studied China's expanding economy, sixty percent of people purchase goods recommended by their friends. This explains your situation. To target the market properly in an emerging economy, you must focus on the people there. Consider how to build a market-friendly marketing strategy.
IV. Communication is Key How are you going to notify individuals of your items without talking to them? Besides that, you must keep a firm connection with brand ambassadors. Without them, your company can't stand up. Whether you are speaking with brand representatives or your audience, you must invest in messaging methods to succeed in your venture. Providing information about your products is a necessary part of brand building. Without communication, how will you inform people about your products? You also need to maintain stable relationships with brand ambassadors to maintain your company. Regardless of whether you're communicating with consumers, brand ambassadors, or your employees, you must invest in communication methods to improve your venture. V. Recognising Your Competitors There is no such thing as a monopoly in today’s world. Competition is ever-present, thanks to technological advancement. Even your strategies are unbeatable, there are still some competitors in the market. The necessity of recognising your competitors is imperative. There are always competitors in the market. Because technology has made the world so accessible, monopolies no longer exist. You may be very good at what you do, and your strategies may be unbeatable, but you must be cautious not to underestimate the importance of identifying your competitors. Brands that have been around for a long time may still be dominant in certain markets. You will have a difficult time introducing your brand to the public. So, think about developing a product that is unique and desirable. Studying your competition is vital to understanding what consumers need in an emerging market, no matter your perceived level of understanding. Conclusion When expanding into new markets, businesses often focus on identifying the independent variables that can be controlled within a company and that lead to success. These include things like product quality, marketing strategy, brand visibility, and so on. However, operating in these emerging markets is not something companies can control. It means that a certain business must operate in those specific locations and adapt to local needs as much as possible. For example, operating in emerging markets means adapting one’s business model to the culture of that specific location. This is where starting a new brand comes in handy: it gives entrepreneurs a chance to test concepts outside of their core competencies and establish a new operating entity with its own identity before starting a full-scale expansion into new locations. Emerging markets are difficult to break into, but they are not impossible to do. To succeed in your undertaking, you must work hard. You must thoroughly research all aspects of the market, looking at the results of your market research. What you find out from your research will assist you in developing your strategy. If the policies you implement are compelling, nothing can stop you from succeeding. The plans discussed in this article are ideal for accessing an emerging market. You may use all of your current resources to implement them. By applying these shrewd plans, you will be surprised by the results. Artificial Intelligence as a Second-Class Citizen: Safeguarding Humanity and Data Integrity
Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming industries, automating repetitive tasks, and introducing efficiencies that were previously unattainable. However, the acceleration of AI adoption raises societal concerns, including job displacement, ethical dilemmas, and potential misuse. This paper explores the dual nature of AI—its promises and perils—and proposes measures to ensure AI remains a beneficial tool without posing existential risks. Emphasis is placed on data security, responsible AI training, and the need for decentralized, encrypted data storage to prevent malicious exploitation.
Keywords: Artificial Intelligence, quantum computer, Data Security, Decentralized Systems, Ethical AI, Post-Quantum Cryptography, Generative AI, Blockchain Technology.
I. INTRODUCTION
The proliferation of AI technologies has brought unprecedented advancements in automation, decision-making, and problem-solving. Yet, the same technologies evoke fears of job loss, societal disruption, and even existential threats to humanity. Popular media often dramatizes AI’s potential to dominate or replace humans, amplifying these concerns. This paper aims to distinguish between speculative fears and actionable risks, proposing a framework to ensure AI’s safe and ethical integration into society.
II. PROBLEM STATEMENT
The rapid adoption of AI-based solutions has raised concerns about job displacement and the potential for AI to become a threat to humanity. Many people believe that AI may capture the world and make humans their slaves. The speculation surrounding AI's ability to take over the world has been fueled by movies and media portrayals of AI-based robots and systems. While these innovations increase efficiency and reduce costs, they also introduce risks:
A. Job Displacement
AI automates repetitive and time-consuming tasks, reducing demand for certain roles.
B. Identity Fraud
AI-generated avatars and voice cloning can impersonate individuals, enabling malicious actions.
C. Weaponization Autonomous
AI-powered robots can become tools for harm if fed malicious instructions.
D. Data Exploitation
Centralized data storage systems are vulnerable to breaches, enabling AI misuse.
Speculations of AI gaining sentience and dominating humanity often overshadow these tangible risks, diverting focus from practical solutions.
III. EXPLANATIONS
Artificial intelligence is not a new technology that is taking over jobs and performing tasks smarter. It is an old technology that has been performing well for decades. AI-based systems are designed to perform tasks by making decisions based on the data or inputs they receive. The output of an AI-based system is determined by the input data and instructions provided to it.
IV. THE DANGER OF AI
AI-based systems can be proved to be dangerous if they are fed with malicious instructions or data. AI based robots and machines can learn on their own and perform actions that can harm humans and other animals. However, the data and instructions that these systems receive are provided by humans. Therefore, humans are responsible for any bad outcomes that may result from the use of AI-based systems.
V. EXISTING AI CAPABILITIES AND CHALLENGES
AI has long existed as a tool for automating tasks and making data-driven decisions. Early systems, such as IBM Watson [1] and household assistants like Amazon Echo, showcased AI’s potential but faced barriers to mass adoption due to cost and accessibility. Recent advancements in generative AI have democratized access, with tools like ChatGPT [2], Claude, and Google Bard offering affordable, high-quality services. However, the rapid expansion of AI usage has surfaced critical challenges:
 A. Bias and Ethical Concerns
Outputs are influenced by input data and prompts, risking biased or harmful responses.
B. Security Vulnerabilities
AI systems trained on centralized data are susceptible to breaches and misuse.
C. Autonomous Learning
Risks Self-learning robots and systems could act unpredictably if exposed to harmful inputs.
VI. METHODOLOGY: SAFEGUARDING AI’S ROLE
To safeguard humanity and data integrity, we need to secure our data and information. With security, AI-based systems will not be able to replicate our identity and harm people. Securing our data is the most important part of preventing the bad use of AI with our data and on us. We propose the use of postquantum security and decentralized data storage solutions to secure our data. To mitigate risks and establish AI as a "second-class citizen," the following measures are proposed:
A. Data Security
Decentralized, encrypted data storage using postquantum cryptography [3], as explored by projects like NCOG [4], is crucial. This empowers individuals with data ownership and prevents its misuse. Post-quantum cryptography standards must be adopted to counteract threats posed by quantum computing.
B. Responsible Input Management
AI output is directly dependent on input quality. Promoting responsible data input and mitigating malicious or biased training data is critical for ensuring ethical and safe AI applications.
VII. QUANTUM COMPUTING THREAT
The advent of quantum computing poses a significant threat to existing cryptographic systems. Quantum computers have the potential to break widely used encryption algorithms, exposing sensitive data. This vulnerability underscores the urgency of transitioning to post-quantum cryptography, which is designed to withstand attacks from quantum computers. The harvesting of data today with the intent of decrypting it later with quantum computers is a serious concern.
Tumblr media
Fig 1. Illustrates a basic AI system
VIII. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Figure 1 illustrates a simplified AI-based system model, showcasing how input data and feedback loops influence output. The system’s behavior is dictated by the quality of input, underscoring the importance of responsible training and data management. Love, peace and kindness as input will give a similar output from the system rather than the abusive outputs. When AI systems operate on encrypted, decentralized data, their ability to harm is significantly reduced. For instance, a decentralized AI system cannot impersonate an individual without access to their private data. Moreover, post quantum secure data storage mitigates risks associated with quantum computing’s potential to breach traditional encryption.
IX. CONCLUSION
Artificial Intelligence holds immense potential to improve lives and revolutionize industries. However, its benefits must be harnessed responsibly to avoid unintended consequences. By prioritizing data security, especially through post-quantum cryptography, and promoting responsible data input, we can ensure AI remains a valuable tool while safeguarding humanity and preventing its misuse. Establishing AI as a "second-class citizen" a tool under human control—is essential to maintaining its alignment with societal values.

County Spotlight - Howard County, Arkansas.
County Seat: Nashville (AR.) Population: 12,785
Howard County is Arkansas's 74th county, formed on April 17, 1873, and named for James Howard, a state senator.
Nashville, AR: The largest find of dinosaur trackways in the world was discovered by SMU archaeology graduate student Brad Pittman in a quarry north of the town in 1983, the site of a prehistoric beach. A field of 5–10,000 sauropod footprints were found in a mudstone layer covering a layer of gypsum. Casts 65 feet (20 m) long and 7 feet (2.1 m) wide were made and put on permanent display, first at the courthouse and finally at the Nashville City Park, while many of the original tracks were disbursed to local museums such as the Mid-America Museum in Hot Springs and the Arkansas Museum of Discovery in Little Rock. The full extent of the trackway has never been excavated.
The mascot of Nashville's HS is "The Scrappers".
William T. Dillard, founder of Dillard's, opened his first department store in Nashville. He started his successful franchise in 1938 when, with $8,000 borrowed from his father, he opened a small store in his wife's hometown of Nashville. Aside from a short period during World War II, the Dillard Company continued operating and expanding its Nashville location. In 1948, Dillard, looking for more growth prospects, sold the Nashville store and used the money, along with some outside financing, to buy controlling interest in a store in nearby Texarkana.
Jim Yates, founder of one of the largest privately owned convenience store chains, built his first E-Z Mart store in Nashville, Arkansas.
Dierks, AR: Dierks was formerly known as "Hardscrabble.” It was changed to "Dierks" after Hans Dierks, the oldest of four brothers who owned the Dierks Lumber and Coal Company. In 2007, Dierks celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding.
Tollette was established as an all-African American town by Sanford Tollette and his wife Caldonia Crofton Tollette in the 1800s.
Dorothy Shaver, born in Center Point in 1893, was the first woman in the United States to head a multimillion-dollar company, Lord & Taylor.
Schaal is an unincorporated community in Howard County, Arkansas, United States. It is located near Mineral Springs and Nashville, Arkansas.
Former US Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders was born in Schaal.
Umpire, AR: In the early 1890s a new gristmill opened in the area. There was a celebratory baseball game after which a schoolteacher addressed the crowd and suggested the name Umpire for the new post office. That is because the Umpire did an outstanding job overseeing the game.
Cossatot River: Cossatot comes from an Indian term which translates roughly to skull crusher. The Cossatot is known as a difficult (class II - IV+) whitewater stream to canoeists and kayakers and a section at Cossatot Falls in Howard County, Arkansas has been called "the most challenging section of whitewater between the Smokies and the Rockies," though there are many more challenging runs in the state of Arkansas, such as Richland Creek, Crooked Creek or the Upper Buffalo (Hailstone run).
An 11-mile (18-km) section including Cossatot Falls is designated as the Cossatot River State Park-Natural Area. Cossatot Falls is a series of back-to-back class III-IV+ rapids that drops around 40 feet in 1/8 of a mile. Rapid names are Cossatosser (class II+), Eye Opener, B.M.F. (class III), Washing Machine (class IV+), Whiplash, (class III+), and Shoulderbone (class II), with Deer Camp Rapid (class III), Devil's Hollow Rapid (class III+), and Devil's Hollow Falls (class IV) located downstream of the Falls area. Zigzag (Class III) and the Esses (class III) are other notable rapids on the Cossatot, located above the Falls.
The World War II fleet oiler USS Cossatot (AO-77) is named after this river.
