Hi, I was curious what you think the grave squad's favorite band(s) or musical tastes would be, given Earth's music choices?
Please and Thank you
This is such a great ask, thank you a whole bunch.
Grave Squad's Playlist is [here] actually if you wanna listen to some music I think fits them. I'm constantly changing it and adding stuff, if you ever wanna see what's going on!
Ghost: he'd be a thot for Hozier tbh. That bewitching and alluring, heartbreaking love songs, to those sings that set the soul on fire with passion and fever. Ghost would love The Bog King, hands down.
His favorite song would be [Work Song] by Hozier
Phantom: Royal Deluxe, Future Royalty, WAR*HALL, and Oh The Larceny, The Killers, Curtis Harding, and Curtis Mayfield. Phantom is jamming. (I have a star wars oc, a Togruta lounge singer, who sounds similar to these bands, so Phantom would be a huge fan of Quix.)
His favorite song would be [The Best] by Future Royaly
Specter: Siámes, Adam Jensen, Jupiter Vale, and Billie Eilish. He's a broody music with a beat kinda guy. Anything that you can jam to without paying attention, but when you listen to the lyrics you're like "Hey buddy you okay? That's a lot."
His favorite song would be [The Wolf] by Siámes
Banshee: classical, Hozier, Lofi. Anything to keep his mind calm, a sleepy boy liking sleepy things. I could see Banshee being a critter, tbh, so I'm gonna say he'd enjoy Autumn Orange's stuff. Oh God how could I forget, Ban would love Lizzo.
His favorite song would be [Clare De Lune]
Wraith: Jukebox The Ghost, Florence+The Machine, Caravan Palace. Wraith loves dancy music, stuff that's upbeat and makes you tap your feet or burst into dance.
His favorite song would be [Moonshine] by Caravan Palace
What's this? A tag list!

Maika Monroe on the Scream Queens panel for Hollywood Fame's Comic Con
1.) Can you tell us about the character(s) you have played?
"Shit, how much time do I have? I didn't do it on purpose, but I ended up finding a little cozy nest in the horror world which means I have quite a few. Let's see... Jay from It Follows and Anna from The Guest were the two to kind of put me on the map. Jay is your typical, teenage girl trying to tackle a sex demon. You know, normal things. I've actually played two characters named Julia in the horror world, plus one named Jules. My first Julia was in Tau and she was pretty much tortured the entire film. Second Julia is from Watcher about a woman who moves to Romania with her husband and feels as if she's being watched and stalked. Jules was from Villains which is a bit more light-hearted. My most recent little freak is Lee in Longlegs, which is currently in theaters, who is very, very different from my usual final girl in that she's incredibly awkward and reserved. More horror characters who just deserve honorable mentions were Clare, Ruth, and Erica. And now I swear I'll stop yapping and let us all move on."
2.) Who would be your dream final girl to team up with?
"Literally every single one of these beautiful women on this panel. Put me in a film with any one of them and I'll be as happy as can be."
3.) Do you think you would be able to survive a horror movie?
"I want to have faith in myself so badly. With all of the horror experience I have, you'd think I would know what to do to survive, but I feel like I would be that dumbass that finds weird explanations for everything and ends up getting killed for it."
4.) What is the most interesting part of making a horror movie come to life?
"Oh, God, all of it. When you're filming, it really doesn't feel like 'wow, this movie is scary,' you know? You're chilling with your friends and reading words from a page. So I think the way it can go from just a bunch of people having fun and doing what they love to then get edited into something that's going to scare the shit out of people is so cool."
5.) What horror scream queens from the past inspired you?
"Forever inspired by Jamie Lee Curtis. I think she is just phenomenal in what she does and she helped pave the way for the rest of us."
6.) What did you to unwind after a day of intense scenes?
"A whole lot of reality tv and a glass of wine. I learned the hard way earlier on in my career how debilitating constantly putting yourself in such a traumatic state can be for your mental health and have worked really hard to prevent that. I bring a friend to set a lot. For the last few films I've done, I actually got my friend hired as an assistant so that I can have someone who I can snap back to being myself with."
7.) Would you like your movie(s) to get a sequel? If so, where do you see your character going?
"I was always really scared of sequels, because more often than not, they're cash grabs and don't always add much to the original film. However, David Mitchell, the writer and director of It Follows, wrote a killer sequel that I'm truly so fucking excited about. Was terrified when they first approached me about it, but I swear the script is insanely good and I can't wait to start filming that soon. Can't say anything about Jay just yet, but she's in an amazing place and it's going to be killer."
8.) Would you ever return to making another horror movie/series?
"Always. Horror's my home. If it's a good script, I'm in."

POLL: SMG vs Eliza Dushku - "friend in a guest episode" edition
SMG vs Eliza polls: part 1 / ?
Answer below!
A: It's a trick question. The answer is both of them! (so secret third option is the correct answer)
SMG had Amber Benson (who played Tara on BTVS) guest star in one episode (1x10 That's what you get for trying to kill me) as stripper Mary Curtis on her show Ringer.
Eliza had Clare Kramer (who played Glory on BTVS) guest star in one episode (1x03 Drop dead gorgeous) as beauty pageant contestant Alex Reynolds on her show Tru Calling.
Technically Eliza and Clare (Faith and Glory, respectively) never shared any scenes in BTVS. However they were both in the 2000 cult classic movie "Bring It On."
(In the USA as of August 2023) Tru Calling is not streaming anywhere. Ringer (2011) is streaming for free on CW, and also for pay on VUDU. Beware of Ringer episodes listed in CW out-of-order.

Community-building Tag Game
Tagged by: @teaboot (thanks so much!)
Name: Call me Mango!
Pronouns: he/him
Where do you call home?
Pacific Northwest Baybeeeeee
Favorite animal: I'm gonna do this one by category
- Bugs: Moths, Atlas Moth most favorite
- Rodents: rats!! Cute fur beans
- Dogs: I love Pitties
- Cats: Orange tabby, and tortoise shells
- large mammal: Bear
- birds: hummingbirds (roufus specific, love em all tho)
- pet fish: goldfish
- not pet fish: coelacanth
- amphibians: axolotl!! Love the banana boys and wild type best, so cute and fun
Cereal of choice:
I like like cinnamon life, Lucky charms, and froot loops most.
Are you a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner?
Bit of it all, actually. I usually follow these steps:
- watch it done
- guided steps
- try on my own
- repeat as necessary
First pet:
My dad's black lab/chow mix! He helped me learn to walk haha.
Favorite scent:
This is incredibly specific but the smell of my dog's forehead. You know that thing about parents loving the smell of their baby's head, a sense of calm and dopamine releases, and everything is right with the world because of that one scent? I get that when I set my head against my dog's and I smell her head.
Do you believe in astrology?
Yes and no. Do I think there's some cool coincidences about it? Hell yeah. Do I believe that this kind of magic can be powerful? Absolutely. Will I base my beliefs about relationships, compatibility with other humans, be it romantic or platonic, on what arbitrary star they were born under? Fuck no.
How many playlists do you have on Spotify/Apple Music?
None I hate Spotify and Apple products. Got a boatload on YouTube tho.
Sharpies or highlighters?
Sharpies, all the way. I don't care for highlighters, they hurt my eyes and I spend more time thinking "God this sucks to read" than actually reading it.
A song that makes you cry:
I don't cry at songs. The last song that made me cry tho was Clare De Lune, back in 2009. I heard it playing somewhere in the woods, while it was raining, and I don't know who or what was playing it because I only heard it echoing through the trees. I was going through some shit, and it was so beautiful, it gave me peace for a second and it felt like I'd been seen for the first time in years.
A song that makes you happy:
- Our Love by Curtis Harding
- I Think I Like When It Rains by WILLIS
- Almost (Sweet Music) by Hozier
- Boys by Lizzo
- I Am Steve by Hey Steve
And finally, do you write/draw/create? if so, use this as an opportunity to shamelessly (😉) promote yourself!
I do it all! My degree is in art, actually. Lately I've done most of my work when I can't sleep, but I try to do something creative every single day.
Nominations (sorry I'm anxious to tag non-mutuals so its all mutuals, you super dont have to if you dont want to btw): @kiibsterarts @peaceful-roadkill @edubenart @ anyone who'd like to!! Tag me if you see mine and do this, I'd love to see it!

Ontario Cold Cases - The Podcast S2 EP8 Simon Wilson & Tracey Bruney Tra...
S2-EP8 (Trailer)Tracey Bruney & Simon Wilson
Hello, I’m Jay Nicoll of Nicoll Investigations and I’m here to tell you about our next episode of Ontario Cold Cases - The Podcast, coming this Sunday, February 25 on Tracey Bruney & Simon Wilson
At 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14th, 1975, a teenage boy walking through Marie Curtis Park found the body of 5-year-old Tracey Ann Bruney in 18 inches of water near a bridge in Etobicoke Creek, 15 km from the youngster’s home.
She had died of drowning, but there were cuts and bruises all over her head and neck from a beating administered by her killer. An autopsy showed she had not been sexually assaulted.
She was last seen alive by her mother at 9a.m., when she was dropped off at St. Clare Catholic School on Northcliffe Blvd. On the weekend, Tracey’s purse was found in a yard on Northcliffe Blvd., suggesting someone forcefully pulled her into a car near the school.
Nine-year-old Simon Wilson of Willowridge Rd. in Rexdale, a northwestern section of Toronto, disappeared on Wednesday, January 29th, 1975 while walking to his school, Parkfield Elementary, which is on Redgrave Dr., less than 1 km from his home.
Simon was described by his parents as very independent and adventurous, and in the initial days there were fears he had either fallen into shallow Mimico Creek, which runs behind his home, or was playing hide-and-seek with searchers in the area’s extensive sewer tunnel system.
Searchers heard voices in the tunnels, but could not locate their origin.
Despite weeks of exhaustive searching by police and volunteers, no trace of Simon Wilson was ever found.
Were Tracey and Simon victims of a serial killer who operated in London, Toronto and Hamilton.
Stay tuned, and find out!

2023 Goodreads Choice Award Winners - Reactions
Opinion time! Long, loud opinion time.
FICTION - Yellowface: wow! I figured this was a strong contender but I did not expect it to stomp 2nd-place finisher (Hello Beautiful) by a margin of nearly 4 to 1. I guess it had more time to gain traction? Happy my pick (aka the only one I might actually read) The Wishing Game got 3rd at least.
HISTORICAL FICTION - Weyward: doesn't look like my cup of tea but not bad. At least it's a cool cover. I wasn't super invested in the outcome of this race. My pick (the one actually on my TBR before the first round, The Echo of Old Books) only got 6th but oh well.
MYSTERY/THRILLER - The Housemaid's Secret: honestly that surprises me, I knew she was popular but I thought it would go to Lisa Jewell or Riley Sager. (who did take 2nd, by not a huge loss, and 3rd, respectively)
(I loooove Kate Morton but I only voted for her book in round 1 to get it contending; I still think she was misplaced in this category. My 2nd round vote went to Sager on a hunch...but I'm fine with the winner. It seems a bit generic for my tastes but not bad at all.)
ROMANCE - Happy Place: SWEET BABY JESUS THANK ALL THE ANGELS ABOVE that Emily Henry's massive fanbase is in fact strong enough to crush Ali Hazelwood, 'cause nobody else is. I ultimately picked the Jimenez book for my vote because between her and Henry's book that one sounds sliiightly more my taste, and I'm relieved that wasn't wasted.
I don't like how how up my sworn nemesis Curtis Sittenfeld's book still landed, nor some of the trashier titles (they have shirtless-man covers in their true form I just know it); I was hoping The Seven Year Slip would do better because it was both well received and seems more in line with the women's-fiction kind of romance I like, though this particular title didn't thrill me. Still: the evil has been defeated! (she said, forgetting there were two categories to clear)
ROMANTASY - Fourth Wing: lmaooooooooooo we all knew this was going to win but TEN TWELVE TIMES more votes than the 2nd place finisher?? Twelve?? Almost 400k in total; I don't think any book has ever had that many votes put toward it in the history of the awards. And since 2nd place was not-particularly-romantasy-like Assistant to the Villain, I have to assume everyone was desperately trying to conscientiously object to either that book's inevitable win or the category in general.
FANTASY - Hell Bent: gdi I specifically did not want that to happen. By a comfortable margin, too, ugh. What little I've heard about Ninth House sounds gross and this cover is also gross. I don't wanna look at it. Emily Wilde 4 lyfe. (4th place)
SCIENCE FICTION - In The Lives of Puppets: *shrug* not surprised, TJ Klune feels a bit inescapable. But ultimately I did not have a horse in this race.
HORROR - Holly, by Stephen King: oh, good for him. He has not actually won every time he's been up for it, and this one sounded decent. (I abstained from voting in this category too, because for all that I love scary books I've not read any of these and don't feel particularly called to)
YA FANTASY - Divine Rivals: oh, okay, so that one is the heavy-hitter, nearly double the 2nd place pick (whatever stephanie garber book is up this year) I picked A Study in Drowning, just because I can't in good conscience choose enemies to lovers, but the important thing is we kept Cassandra effing Clare away from the crown.
*holding my breath as I wait for the next category, the one I'm most invested in after romance, to load...*
YOUNG ADULT - Check & Mate:
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My scream shattered the rafters. When I first saw Ali Hazelwood's name in there I thought, okay, YA, perhaps she has toned down her garbage enough to be readable? but then I looked at the reviews and I am very much not confident that this actually reads like YA. If it does, I suspect it might be the kind of YA that Teen Me hated and Adult Me still doesn't love.
Anyway. The point is I specifically voted for The Brothers Hawthorne to avoid this, but while that did take 2nd place, even that powerhouse series failed to dominate (though only by 3k! closest race so far i think) over this woman who is now officially my sworn enemy. Colleen who? I have never held half the animosity toward that woman like what has been growing in my heart for Hazelwood.
DEBUT NOVEL - Weyward: well I guess that makes sense. (I didn't vote in this one either...although I could have sworn that The Wishing Game was in this one too? because I thought I voted for it at least in round 1...oh n/m, I see. "Why are there only 19 books in this category? Following new information from an author that they had previously published under a pen name, one book was no longer eligible for this category and was removed."
NONFICTION - Poverty, By America: look, I'm just glad it's not the "I'm voting for this because it's funny" Butts book. But I voted for the Pacific Crest Trail one about missing hikers because a Goodreads friend gave it 5 stars and also it's the only one that interests me.
All right, time to see how much Britney Spears won the next category by...
MEMOIR & AUTOBIOGRAPHY - The Woman in Me: but not quite by double! I honestly did not think Prince Harold had that many fans. (I love calling him Prince Harold (The Ridiculous) don't take this from me) Really surprised that Pageboy got 3rd; pure diversity rep vote? Thought those who actually read it agreed it was disjointed and poorly structured. Anyway. I can't really talk because I voted for Paris (Minka Kelly first, hoping to get her to round 2, but then Paris Hilton because I genuinely did enjoy that one more than i expected)
Up next is history/biography. Did the dad book win?
HISTORY & BIOGRAPHY - The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder: the dad book wins! (I did vote for it. I'm sorry. I thought the Astor book actually sounded cooler but I just dislike Anderson Cooper so much)
And finally...god I hope it's Henry Winkler. I'm sure it's gonna be Leslie F*** Jones because people think swearing is funny, but I specifically refused her a vote because of it (and no other reasons) so I really hope I'm wrong.
HUMOR - Being Henry: The Fonz...and Beyond: HENRY WINKLER WINS!!!!!!! That's all I wanted, because this category looked baaaaad. I still think he should have been in the regular memoir section but I'll take it.
