like up the tension of them becoming friends again in s4 and navigating that their feelings are actually MORE than friendship

like hawk going to miyagi do to fight after his head is shaved for demetri would be so much sweeter if it was also charged with eli's feelings for demetri

imagine it's demetri who kisses Eli to get him his confidence back right before his fight

the entirety of season 5 is charged with "established relationship" vibes from the two of them

and them both helping miguel with his love life would still make sense but suddenly their reference for relationship advice is each other (and they're entirely dysfunctional so it makes sense why their advice ends up sucking)

season 6 divorce arc would be even more painful with demetri thinking that eli not applying to MIT means he's dumping him....

...and eli being like "no dipshit i want to explore other options" "oh other OPTIONS? like date other PEOPLE?" "demetri no-"

and like just add another relationship crisis to the list with the sekai taikai that's pretty much what had everyone else off their game.....

and then the locker room apology would've obviously ended in a kiss

I remember Tot said season 4 was gonna be sad a f*ck and that Yugo will have to pass some kind of "hard trial" (AGAIN) in this season because this kid will never have a good rest. Not even a breath. Stop. Give this little boy some holidays c'mon, the lord is always testing our little angel to the limit. (And by lord I mean Ankama I'm looking at you...)

So it's very likely that Yugo will start to suffer even more in the next episode. And of course, in the entire season :))))))) Let this boy have something, someone precious by his side more than an instant and stop take it from him in the next second, I beg you. (He just found his family... And... Qilby I guess. And Adamai just abandoned him already to investigate by his own way...)

Just seeing how the kings and queens of every nation were so disrespectful in front of him and just called his mother a monster and made her cry, well. (I want to riot! When Joris said they were "quite tense" he fell short.)

Okay, yes, I understand the eyes in the sky~ are pretty creepy and of course I don't trust her either, at least, like this is so suspicious for sure, no one was born yesterday even when she is trying to be so kind and helpful monitoring the entire planet (yeessss mom, way too much).

But, c'mon, this is a goddess as tall as... I don't know, as much as she wants, girl she is made of f*cking magic. If she wanted she could erase you from existence. She didn't have to give a f*ck about anyone and HERE WE ARE~

The best thing you can do is looking for a fight with her in the moment you meet her with no hesitasion? Do you want to die that much? Do you know about survival? Did you skip that class maybe? (I'm going for a tea BECAUSE-)

It was so necessary to (be a little racist dear rich people and) insult the giant blue mother of your hero in his f*cking face and the people who are at least trying to do your job (which any of you losers did well, like ever, btw. When Sadida kingdom was about to be destroyed by the chaos of Ogrest what did you do?? Eh, where were you???)

Jobs like protecting and saving your citizens from, nothing, being robbed and I don't know: imminent death??? I mean, really? Was that all you thought about in this situation? Being a d*ck was your best choice.

These same guys here were talking about stolen freedom?? What freedom? The brotherhood of Tofu had to save your asses for like 3 season. 3 ovas and dozens of comics. The same people who criticize others actions but never assist and reunite when they are needed, Cause I don't know Rick, it seems a little fake....

Yugo just met his mom and his sis and he already has the world of 12 hating them... Like wow, the rulers are all going to die in the hands of that kind of white demon/zombies of TLOU/soul suckers or whatever they are. And I really don't give a f*ck for any of them, ladies and gentlemen. Only the crowns are going to remain. (Down with the monarchy.)

so here’s my thought about Roy’s question to Keeley, because he’s been working on not feeling jealous and letting her be the independent woman she is (even though he still has to realize that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want/need his support in general)

I don’t think he would have gone looking for the video and he definitely wouldn’t have watched it. so maybe he’s worried it was a video she made for him and somehow it’s his fault it got leaked? he just really didn’t phrase it well, obviously 

when they revealed the video, the first thing I asked myself was who it had been made for! it matters in the grand scale of things because like Jamie said, it had been in his email (who emails a video though lol) or I guess it could have been in like a google drive or something. and if it had been one she meant for Roy, he might need to worry about what else he has in his own accounts, etc?

that said I’m so proud of Jamie and my goodness he looked so soft in that scene. just. the most huggable and just what Keeley needed tbh

CK s6 part1 spoilers‼️

This is going to be mostly my rant on ep5 and some plots from the previous episodes

- My heart BREAKS for Tory, it’s like the writers just decided to add more on top of the misery from her story last season. S5 the girl broke up with someone she loves and cares about for Kreese’s plan, ended up hurting herself badly and had no one by her side the entire season, and now they just decided to kill off her mom just when her life is starting to get better. What did she do to deserve this??

- Look how quickly Daniel and Johnny moved on to Hawk for their selections literally after they all learned about Tory’s mother’s death, like if you both are such good senseis, wouldn’t it be nice to actually give a shit about Tory and her grief?? Instead of making if about yourself, how about we actually go console her and making sure she’s okay or at least be there? Both of them are such bad mentors for the kids, first is how they handled Kenny’s situation after he got humiliated with the accident, Johnny only spoke up when he’s fighting for Devon and Daniel rlly favors his kids than his other students. If any of these two even showed the same attention and support to Kenny and Tory, I’m sure neither of them would actually quit Miyagi-Do so quickly on the spot. Some sensei they really are huh.

- Robby my man, I get that going to the Sekai Taikai is important for you but are you really gonna do nothing after your girlfriend’s meltdown about her mother’s death? At this point this show’s writing is so bad I don’t wanna hear about any “they probably did this off-screen” kinda bullshit no more. I swear if part 2 has any point of showing him standing on the moral high ground accusing Tory of switching sides like what he did to her in s5 imma riot, cancel my Netflix subscription along with my family plan :))

- Based on s5 and what we’ve seen so far, my headcanon for Robby & Tory is that he’s the one that usually texts her first and he texts more but she’s not good with it, she’s not good with expressing her emotions either so sooner or later they’re gonna face this communication problem in the relationship (of which the problem was clearly shown before in s5 when they “broke up”)

- While the privileged kids talking about their top colleges and applications, what Robby and Tory had was the Sekai Taikai - underdogs in the top 4

- Devon, my girl…not a good decision…why you choose to go on that path

- I can never like Anthony he really gets on my nerves

- Bad writing with all those conflicts overall, hated how they handled Kenny’s character especially trying to embarrassing him for the flag fight. I was hoping to see him and his brother in more action but you can never expect too much from Cobra Kai writers I guess

- The baby storyline continues…the most boring and unnecessary storyline that ruins Johnny’s character as a father and a sensei

- CK really has this type of half assed writing throughout all seasons why am I surprised lmao

The good part:

- Sam & Tory’s reconciliation and their apologies to each other, the sleepover pillow fight was so cute and I love seeing both of them are so done with Johnny’s instigating

- Robby and Tory’s promise of standing together

- How Robby found himself & his confidence again after seeing Tory showed up, this is what partners influence each other

- Robby & Tory’s little nod to each other whenever one of them is fighting someone else, no words but it means so much more

- Johnny & Mike’s fight - it has to be purely a fan service kinda fight but I’ll take it

- Hawk & Demitri’s fight, unnecessary but it surely was entertaining

- Kyler’s redemption, I’m actually happy they didn’t give him a glamorous redemption and try to change him completely to let him join Miyagi-Do, it’s nice to see that his frat boy personality is still there

- Kwon’s fighting skills are some real deal

Poor Lucy… (spoilers for 6x09 below)

1. They told us it’s her birthday, only to show no one (other than Kojo 😂) cares it’s her birthday.

2. She rambled to Nolan about how “good” she was obviously not doing and he was like, “Great 🙂” / gave zero f*cks

3. She brought up her failure to make detective (again) with no acknowledgment from Harper or Lopez, which makes it appear she is acting like a child about it and the adults in the room do not care.

4. She is not v stealthy for an undercover operative 😂

5. We got to see everyone come together and rally around Tim in his time of need (as they should have), while seeing Lucy be isolated as she’s struggled all season for apparently no reason at all…

My mid season thoughts on The Book of Carol (TBOC)

Huge rant incoming. May of may not make sense but it needed to come out.

Spoilers below!

I saw all of S2 when it leaked, and by the end, I was almost wondering why they bothered to bring Carol back into THIS story. I hate to agree with some people out there, but it absolutely felt like they shoehorned Carol in there and Melissa deserved better than that. She doesn't deserve to be blamed for Isabelle's death. It would be one thing if they had kept Daryl and Isabelle in an ambiguous will they won't they situation but they literally went there. Not simple shipbaiting but full on dive in there, steamy makeout session, future planning and all. Why not just let that story play out and leave Carol out of it? Let Daryl get that happy ending everyone tells him he deserves. Cause there's no happy ending for Daryl right now and for the remainder of S2. In fact, he's pretty f*cking sad and mopey. And they're gonna carry that sh*t into S3? No thank you. Carol flew halfway across the world, in the middle of the apocalypse just to end up being Daryl's comfort while he mourns the loss of Isabelle and the future he had planned with her? On top of that, she's going through her own stuff and Daryl is nowhere to be found.

I don't recognize Carol and Daryl's relationship at all. All their scenes are so awkward and almost uncomfortable to watch. I definitely did not go back and watch any of their scenes again, not like i did in the flagship show. Just can't do it. Once was more than enough. And that makes me so, so sad. I miss how they used to be. I miss what this spinoff could have been :(

Which leads me to the next thing. Why do a S3? And possibly 4??? What is the point? To showcase their super duper amazing friendship? We already know they're friends, they've been friends for 14 years and we've been pretty well warned that friends is all they'll ever be. So where do they go from here? I want to see their friendship evolve, not stay stale. Not that I don't love having them together, cause I do, but damn...more of the same? And then what...more kissing and "experiments" or whatever with the people they meet in Spain? We're just gonna f*ck around across Europe? I have no hopes for S3 and have no plans to watch it.

I love Melissa with all my heart and her performance was nothing short of amazing.

But this just wasn't the spinoff for her.

The Boys Season 4 Episode 7

I lied. I stayed up until 2 am waiting for this episode to stream but I'm actually surprised it was better than the last one.

Warning: Major Spoilers.

A-Train

I didn't like A-Train but know I do. Good for him for doing the right thing and becoming an actual super hero. Not sure if this will be a popular opinion or not but I don't think his deed is done. After he hides his family I think he should come back and finish the job with The Boys. They sure can use him. Also he shouldn't be running off after what he told M.M. because he would be a hypocrite.

Butcher

My gut feeling tells me Joe Kessler is going to take over after Butcher passed out. Like we thought Butcher was going to do the right thing at the end but sadly not when Kessler takes over. I think if he does take over Butcher Starlight will figure it out because she heard that name. Also what was the f*cking point of making him cheat on Becca?! I mean I didn't ship them or anything and I know he was a asshole and a drunk but still I feel like they added that so we start hating on Butcher. Is Butcher (or Kessler) going to do something really f*cked up? Like kill Ryan? I've always said Kessler is like the comic book Butcher influencing TV Butcher and he's probably going to kill Ryan like he did in the comic books.

Hughie & Starlight

Because of what happened to Hughie last episode the shapeshifter tricking him into having sex with "Starlight" made me very uncomfortable. I mean I get the show is supposed to be f*cked up but wow give the guy some time to breathe. I'm scared for Starlight and I hope they give Hughie a chance to save her. I think that's all he wanted to do last season because he couldn't save Robin. I don't think it was all about Starlight being stronger than him.

Kimiko & Frenchie

Yup like I said both of them have so much in common and can heal together. I love that we finally get a backstory of why Kimiko can't talk. She had to be silent as she killed other girls in order to live so she was never able to speak again. To be honest I don't get what the point was about Frenchie turning himself in. Are we supposed to see his as his redemption and all is forgiven because he did the right thing?

The Deep

To be honest I'm not surprised The Deep broke Ambrosius' tank and let her die. The Deep always used and abused women. He didn't change at all. He finally got a taste of his own medicine when he found out about Sage and this time it's the correct way (the wrong way was him getting sexually assaulted in season one). Anyway did anyone know Ambrosius was voiced by Tilda Swinton because I for as hell didn't.

Black Noir 2 & Sage

Black Noir 2 was hilarious in this episode. I wonder if The Boys are going to figure out that he's is a different supe because they saw him talk and fly. I mean they would've known about Earving condition from Mallory, right? I think they should start a rumor about Black Noir being replaced so conspiracy theories fan would believe it. I always knew Sage had a sexual relationship with Black Noir 2 but didn't think she was going to break his heart. My poor baby. I love how she didn't have to lobotomize herself to have sex with him like The Deep. I'm so mad at Homelander for firing her but it's probably for the best if you want her to be redeemed or work with The Boys. I think she really was going to help Homelander but when she realized he wont actually listen to her she doesn't give a damn about the plan anymore and will probably help The Boys if she's hasn't given up on anyone listening to her.

Homelander, Firecracker, and Ryan

I am so proud of Ryan but I am also scared for him. Yeah Homelander didn't mean it at all when he told Ryan he can do whatever he wants. Homelander only wants Ryan to listen to him. I think Ryan is finally understanding. I have a feeling there's going to be son and father argument and Ryan is going to say I thought you said I can do whatever the f*ck I want but I guess you didn't mean it. What was that notebook Sage put on the table? I hope it belongs to Firecracker and it exposes her. Like how she writes down her plans of manipulating Homelander and step one was the breast milk. I keep saying oh this or that is going to push Homelander over the edge but when the hell is that going to happen? Next season? Because I for sure thought Homelander was finally going to go crazy and act like a god he thinks he is after the bad room episode but the next episode he's drinking titty milk from Firecracker and the episode after that he's manipulated into firing Sage who actually had everything figured out for him.

Mother's Milk

You know what M.M. getting skinny actually makes sense. Maybe he wasn't eating right because of all the stress. I know the actor wanted to lose weight but they should've written it into the plot. Anyway I'm happy he tried to save his ex-wife and daughter but A-Train is right. They wont be safe until they stop Homelander. That's why I think A-Train will come back.

Victoria

I don't care for her to be honest. I thought she was more interesting and fun when I thought she was going to be just as ruthless as Homeladner. I think they're trying to make her sympathetic so we can compare her relationship with her daughter and Homelander's relationship with Ryan.

Ashley

I adore her and this is the first time I'm saying that. She's right that Vought turns people evil. I've always said this. I think all supes were like Starlight at one point even Homelander (watch the cartoon series and see) wanted to be a real hero but Vought messed them up very badly. She's just too scared to leave. I hope she does the right thing at the end.

Cold Hearted: Elion and how I feel from writing them: “I persist and resist the temptation to ask you if one thing had been different would everything be different today?”

Cold Hearted: No matter what happens, Robby is there for Zion. They know each other, they trust each other, and confide in each other. This is especially true post season 3. There’s no other couple in the show or my book that really fits this song like them: “When you are young they assume you know nothing. But I knew you.”

Cobra Kai: Tbh this song gives me Sensei Kim Da-Eun vibes. While I’m still waiting to see what they do in season 6 with her character, I think she fits the depiction of a badass woman coming to town and turning it upside down: “There goes the loudest woman this town has ever seen. I had a marvelous time ruining everything.”

CH: This is the title of my playlist for Elion (Eli and Zion). The angst fits them so perfectly. Also, the mentions of violence and clear jealousy illustrates these two in season 2 and 3 in a way no other song I’ve found can. Taylor’s writing makes me so happy, and Bon Iver’s voice makes it that much more heartbreaking: “I can see you standing, honey, like he’s just your understudy. Like you’d get your knuckles bloody for me.”

CK: This very much applies to Johnny and Kreese. Kreese made Cobra Kai a safe space for Johnny in his childhood only to abuse him and shut him out. Johnny grew but brought back Cobra Kai then Kreese tries to join again. Once he did, he stole it from Johnny. I have too many quotes for this one so here’s a few: “And if I’m dead to you, why are you at the wake? Cursing my name wishing I stayed…” and “And I can go anywhere I want, anywhere I want, just not home.”

CH: Zion and Terry and Kreese are exemplified beautifully in this song, too. Like Johnny, they used her for their own gain while mentally abusing her in the process: “And you’re the hero flying around saving face.” and “‘Cause when I’d fight you used to tell me I was brave.

CK: Samantha LaRusso is a mirrorball. In season 1, she did anything to fit in and be popular like endure what Yasmine and Moon said to her and her former friends and classmates. In season 2, we get a glimpse of her changing herself to be with Robby and try to push Miguel and her feelings - both anger and love - away. In season 3, she’s masking her PTSD. In season 4, she does all she can to be the Bonsai Badass for her dad and the Miyagi legacy. In season 5, she finally breaks down for Miguel and says she can’t do karate anymore until she really knows who she is and overcomes all the mental obstacles still waiting for her. She also lets Daniel and Chozen in over the course of the show, letting the mirrorball crack more and more. (I love the exploration of her PTSD, if you can’t tell): “The masquerade revelers drunk as they watch my shattered edges glisten.”

CH: Tbh I think this only fits Jess and Zion since we don’t know a lot about anyone’s childhood except Anthony and Johnny, but they don’t have any friends that would fit this song. Jess knows from an early age that Zion’s mom is bad, though they can’t put their finger on it. It’s such a sweet and haunting song about childhood that only they can really express: “Your dad is always mad and that must be why. And I think you should come live with me and we can be pirates then you won’t have to cry.”

CK: This is an accurate song for SamRobby. The summer romance, the angst with the Miguel of it all, and the whispers of hiding it from Sam’s parents: “‘Cause you were never mine.”

CH: This song heavily inspired the prequel chapters with Zobby (Zion and Robby): “August slipped away into a moment in time.”

CK: Johnny’s relationship with Robby is beautifully detailed in this song. It’s about overcoming alcohol and peaking too soon. Johnny won 2 AVTs in high school before losing to LaRusso. After that, he let it and his trust issues overtake him and thus drive Robby out of his life. When he finally gets his act together, it’s for Miguel. But he keeps trying for Robby at the end of season 4 when he tells Robby they’ll save Kenny together (though I still wish Johnny would prioritize Robby over Miguel more and actually help him rather than depend on Robby helping him but that’s another rant): “At least I’m trying.”

CH: This is also about Zion in season 5 to everyone she loves while she does all she can to recover from the addiction: “Pouring my heart out to a stranger, but I didn’t pour the whiskey. I just wanted you to know that this is me trying.”

CK: Samiguel, duh. It’s not as beautiful of a story as Taylor describes because it’s just them kissing at a party while actively having their respective partners: “It’s born from just one single glance, but it dies and it dies and it dies a million little times.”

invisible string

CK: This may be a weird take in a non-romantic way, but the invisible string is for Julie Pierce and Daniel. The string is actually Mr. Miyagi. But regardless I think this is a cute way to think about it, like karate has bonded them even if they don’t know it yet. (This is also my official prayer and plea and whatever that Hilary Swank will be in season 6. I guess we’ll see): “Isn’t it just so pretty to think that all along there was some invisible string tying you to me.”

CK: aka Tory. The woman is always mad as hell (/lh). She’s always called crazy and manipulated by some old Cobra Kai war veteran. Just give her a break, man: “Every time you call me crazy I get more crazy.”

CH: Yeah, it’s the same with Zion tbh. But I also pose the idea of it being Zion’s pov on the Demetri rivalry. He calls her crazy, initially had Yasmine on his side, and she reacts the only way she knows: “What did you think I’d say to that? Does a scorpion sting when fighting back? They strike to kill, and you know I will.”

CK: Is it weird to give this song to Silver? (I guess it also applies to Kreese.) He’s a war veteran with very obvious and untreated PTSD that he uses to mold an ideal version of the world for himself where Cobra Kai rules and he doesn’t have to answer for his heinous and violent actions. He also hid away from the karate world after the AVT in ‘85 with his money, business, and rich friends, which was where we found him at the beginning of season 4. He even repressed those memories until Kreese brought them out, thus also bringing out the monster: “Just one single glimpse of relief to make some sense of what you’ve seen.”

CK: This song is a poor apology, kind of like what Miguel gave to Tory. It reminds me of that scene in season 3 when Miguel is at Tory’s work accidentally and they talk and she calls him out on just wanting Sam back (despite that being her initial suggestion for the relationship anyway (also another topic for another time)): “I thought of you all summer long.”

CK: Daniel’s song for Amanda. She’s such a catch, amazing wife, fabulous mother, and whatever. But Daniel can’t stop the karate villains from his past from emerging or from engaging with them. He may never “give her peace,” but he tries to be upfront about it. In season 5 she really snapped when rival after rival showed up and how Terry manipulated and divided them, but after he got hurt and she talked to Jessica it seemed better. And at the end of season 5 she gets it. So I feel like this song was a conversation at some point offscreen, and it helped their marriage significantly: “I’d give you my sunshine, give you my best, but the rain is always gonna come if you’re standing with me.”

CH: Zion to Robby. Rumor after rumor, fight after fight, manipulation after manipulation, and breakup after breakup. He’s still there for her. Like Daniel, she’s desperate to get her partner to know that she does all she can for him despite the drama the real world brings in. She acknowledges her trauma, and Robby acknowledges his. Because of this it’s a bit healthier than the song depicts where Taylor’s lover is on a pedestal in comparison to her. Let’s just say Robby lets her bejeweled (iykyk): “All these people think love’s for show, but I would die for you in secret.”

CK: I kind of feel like this is Robby’s song for his mom. He loves her and is so protective of her, but she keeps choosing alcohol (and drugs?) and men over him. Even though she makes him sad, she’s the person he goes to after kicking Miguel. Even though she’s not the best mom, she’s all he has. He let her do whatever just to keep his mom around: “Don’t want to know other shade of blue but you. No other sadness in the world would do.”

the lakes

CK: This one is for Miguel. He suffered in silence during season 4, doing what Johnny asked and supporting him when he was the one who needed that. He wanted to run away to Mexico because he felt he didn’t belong in karate anymore (and because of his dad but for these purposes it’s just because of karate): “What should be over burrowed under my skin in heart-stopping waves of hurt.”

CH: This one is also for Zion, the girl who always fantasizes about running away and finding a better reality than the Valley, especially with Robby: “I don’t belong, and my beloved neither do you.”

[SPOILER ALERT. MENTION OF SEASON FINALES AND SERIES FINALE OF SUPERNATURAL]

So, unpopular opinion:

Dean gave up.

People usually get mad at me when I say this cuz they say Dean never gives up.

But he does. He's human.

Everytime he was about to die or everything felt like a lot he said his goodbyes.

For example in Season 1 ch. 12 "Faith".

He's electrecuted, his heart is not ok anymore and Sam is the one who fights for Dean to live, not Dean himself.

He does too when he was about to say "yes" to Michael, or when he said to Cas "I'm not strong enough".

In season 11 when he was about to give his life as a soul bomb.

The whole season 3 when he only had 1 year to live.

He was not ok, fellas, so is normal that he preffered to "go down swinging" than to just do it himself, since he had a purpose, and had Sammy and then Cas. He had reasons to keep fighting, he gave up but then he was standing AGAIN.

That's some strong ass man.

But at the very end, season 15, ch. 20, you can't tell me it was cuz "they weren't under Chuck's protection anymore" (also, I think that whole 'Chuck made it all perfect' is bullshit, but not the point of this post).

It was a shitty ass ending? Yes. He shouldn't have died like that? I totally agree.

But he died there cuz he gave up, because the love of his life was dead (if you say Cas was only his best friend, get out of my post), the only other person that needed his care (and also he wanted to redeem hismelf to him) became God, so no need for him there.

And if he was honest to himself, Sam didn't need him anymore. Actually after some point he never did, Sam could always move forward from Dean's deaths and absence (theres canon evidence for this, don't fight me).

So, what else could he do? He didn't feel able to have a normal life, not without Cas.

If Cas hadn't died, maybe he would've gave up hunting inmediatly and have the fanfic fluff finale.

But yeah, he gave up.

Now I'm gonna hide under my bed covers and cry, thank you very much.

And read one of those fix it fanfics to then cry again cuz that didn't happen.

Notes:

Dean and Cas were in love, you cannot change my mind.

Sam loved Dean, but he was more healthy, that's why he could move forward. Dean was more dependant of Sam to be alive, evidence in him committing su1c!d3 after thinking Sam was dead.

And Dean was shitty to Jack, but I honeslty believe that the writers did him wrong, since Dean is always lovable towards kids and they made him a d!ck with his own, tf??? And if he had the chance he would've made it up to Jack and treated him like his son. As if he were behaving like John, noticing, and then started to behave as Bobby, more accurate to his real self. (I have a lot to say about this John-Bobby pattern in Dean, maybe I'll make another post even tho no one will read it).

Anyways, just doing some ranting since my real life friends are sick of my spn and dean talking.

watched:

attack on titan - all 4 seasons of aot took up my entire october, and i'm not mad about it because this anime is AMAZING. i understand why people say that it's peak - it's just THAT good. i already knew a lot of the spoilers before watching it, so there were some parts that didn't take me as surprise as it would have had i gone into the anime blind. nevertheless, this is still a top-tier anime, and i am SO glad that i watched it. i even got to meet my second anime husbando - levi ackerman! ugh, levi, the man that you are (❤️ ω ❤️)

my love story!! - i watched this around the same time i was almost done with aot because i needed a small break from all of the fighting going on. i'm not a huge fan of romance animes - i'm fine if romance is a subplot, but i'm not a huge fan if it's the main plot - but this one exceeded my expectations! it's just so cute and heartwarming and i loved seeing takeo and yamato navigate their relationship! i HIGHLY recommend this anime if you want something that's feel-good and heartwarming! o(〃＾▽＾〃)o

snow white with the red hair - i watched this in november after i was finished with my love story!! and honestly, this was years in the making - shout-out to pretty-on-point for recommending me this anime YEARS ago when i first started writing 'of angels and ninjas'! i'm not a huge fan of shojo - i'm more of a shonen girlie - but i really liked this one! i loved the fact that shirayuki had her own goals that she wanted to accomplish so that she could prove herself to be by zen's side. speaking of zen, i love how he's always there to rescue shirayuki and how cute their relationshipo is. i'm a little upset that we only have 2 seasons of this anime, but i'm hoping that the manga wraps up soon - i want to see my zenyuki babies married ಠ╭╮ಠ

trigun stampede - i also watched this anime in november after i was done with snow white with the red hair. i saw some fanart of the anime and thought it looked interesting, so i picked it up. i never watched the original, trigun, so i can't really compare this reboot to the original. this is an action sci-fi anime, and while sci-fi isn't really my cup of tea, the action in this was amazing. i absolutely adore vash and wolfwood - the people in this anime need to stop blaming him for things when he's just trying his best >:( - and because this anime had a bit of an open ending, i'm holding onto hope that there'll be another season! \^o^/

yuri!! on ice - i watched this in december for the ⋆˙⟡ winter vibes⋆˙⟡. and while mappa has done a LOT of things wrong, they also gave us some of the best art and animation. and this anime is no exception because it is literally so beautiful. from the way the men were drawn to how beautifully the skaters were animated, mappa cooked with this, i fear. while the manga has ended, i would have liked to see the movie be animated so that we can get more victor lore but alas, it is not. get it together, mappa (╬▔皿▔)╯

dandadan - i watched this anime towards the end of december at the suggestion of an anonymous reader - whoever you are, thank you! and let me say, this anime gave me whiplash from how fast the pace changed. at first, i thought that this was an unserious anime - let's be real, okarun lost his d*ck because of a ghost and he's trying to get it back, you cannot tell me that it's not unserious 〒▽〒 - until it delved into darker and deeper themes. nevertheless, this is an amazing anime and i can't wait for season 2 to come out sometime this year! *^____^*

hisakiki - pride and pettiness - sabishitomo

thoughts: i was curious about whether or not the 'snow white with the red hair' manga had ended yet, and my snooping around led me to discover that kiki's love interest is hisame, a character that wasn't shown in the anime, and not mitsuhide. i'm personally neutral about the mitsukiki ship, since i do find that mitsuhide cares more about keeping zen safe than he does with pursuing a romantic relationship. with that being said, while what i do know about hisame is just small snippets, i do think that he and kiki can work well together when they do get married. this short fic is a cute and sassy little snippet of them being THAT™️affectionate couple ( ˘︹˘ )

hisakiki - the second time around - sabishitomo

thoughts: yet another hisakiki fic! have you ever been down a rabbit hole on ao3 and then you end up reading a fic about two characters that you don't know for a fandom that you don't particularly care about? the sentiment is the same for how i fell down the hisakiki rabbit hole - unlike my earlier statements, i actually really do love both kiki and hisame and i do enjoy the 'snow white with the red hair' fandom even though the fandom is probably half-dead by now ;-; but anyways, this was a cute little fic on how hisame got a second chance at life and he uses it to better himself so that he could make a better impression on kiki - because we all know how bad he is at making first impressions in the manga (⊙ˍ⊙)

hisakiki - the missing piece - sabishitomo

thoughts: huzzah! yet another hisakiki fic! this one is set on the eve of their wedding with hisame being vulnerable about how his feelings on kiki marrying him. while i do like the hisakiki ship, i'm always left wondering if kiki really does love hisame, as she's had feelings for mitsuhide first. while i know that she's currently fond of hisame, i'm left wondering if it'll ever blossom into something more - sorata akidzuki, PLEASE finish the manga, i'm literally begging you ヽ(*。>Д<)o゜either way, this fic is giving me some peace of mind about kiki's feelings for hisame...for now （⊙ｏ⊙）

kiss of life - igloo - this year is kiof's year, because tell me WHY they gave us bangers back to back! and this song is no exception - it's honestly hard to believe that this is a b-side with the amount of attention this song is getting. and the choreography? iconic. the amount of times that i tried to copy the choreo (and fail spectacularly) is embarrassing, but i'm too busy feeling myself and getting in the mood that i don't care :p

taeyeon - blur - i have no idea why this song isn't the title track of taeyeon's latest mini album, because this song is AMAZING. her voice?! those runs?! talented. brilliant. incredible. amazing. showstopping. spectacular. never the same. totally unique. completely not ever been done before. taeyeon never misses, and this song is no exception (⌐■_■)

taeyeon - strangers - this is my second favorite song from her latest mini album! it's such a chill and relaxing song that it's just easy to melt into the song. i hope taeyeon releases more chill songs because as much as i adore songs where she's just belting out high note after high note, i also appreciate just listening to her sing without her busting a lung.
