What about the feralness of Vox Machina? I feel like Grog is the obvious most feral but they all have a bit of feral in them
oooh, interesting
i feel like you have grog and then like the others are all about 25% feral in a different direction
but i’ll give this a go
1 - grog. yeah, this is the obvious winner here. textbook barbarian, here to eat meat and smash stuff, “this is the most clothes i ever wore in my life”, canonically has like never had a bath, ever. but somehow still less feral than nott and caleb, i think. put a lot of effort into learning to read. loves his friends and gets embarrassed when he’s not as smart around them. likes being fancy
2 - percy. loses points for rich kid, and his dedication to keeping up his image. gains a shit ton of points for “spent like four years on a destructive rampage of demon fueled revenge, laughing maniacally when his morally dubious experiments work”. also, no one whose idea of flirting is “makes explosives for current target of affections to shoot at people in battle” comes anywhere close to not feral. that shit’s Feral.
3 - pike. i was really on the fence here as to who ranks higher out of her or percy, i think they trade off at times? i gave it to percy because he’s a lot more unhinged, but you could put pike second and i’d agree. she’s definitely more feral than anyone lower on this list. pike doesn’t look feral, and i think vox machina needs that guiding light at times, so a lot of people don’t acknowledge that she is feral, but like, pike the monstah? grew up with grog? leads the group on most likely to threaten/intimidate people and win? (be they gods, archfey, taryon darrington, her own family... no one fucks with pike). way less innocent sense of humour than everyone assumes. she’s just a small feral gnome who spent her childhood wrestling a goliath as a greeting and i love her
4 - keyleth. keyleth is definitely wild, but i think her anxiety prevents her from ranking any higher on this list. like, she’s a druid, she’s most comfortable in nature and things without rules, she will randomly eat anything just to see what it is, and if someone goes against her moral principles, she will definitely make her opinion known. rarely lets her fear stop her from doing things. but she definitely overthinks them, panics constantly that the things vox machina does will end up causing more bad than good, and is in a lot of ways afraid to feel any emotions because she’s scared of getting hurt because of them. and that constant restraint and worry definitely pulls her down the feral scale a bit
5 - vex is feral at heart and then put up like 500 different walls around herself in order to never appear feral, ever. like this is a girl who when given no rules to adhere to, just wants to run around in the forest with her brother and her grizzly bear and climb trees and maybe learn to fly. without the social restrictions, easily more feral than her brother, who doesn’t give a shit about what anyone thinks of him but was also the city kid, who knows how to break the rules when the rules are in place to be broken, but barely knows the first thing about living in the wild. however, if you give vex people to impress, she suddenly becomes extremely concerned about appearing classy and high society and well put together. it’s honestly hard to rank the two of them, given that? but i think overall vex is still a little bit more feral than vax
6 - vax is the opposite. vax, just on his own, has hardly any feral in him at all. but then he got placed in a town full of rich snooty elves who assumed he was feral, and he went “fine, watch me”. actively becomes more feral when around elves or rich people, because he’s doing it deliberately to spite them. but really, he’s not that feral. he’s a soft boy who loves his friends
7 - scanlan. i don’t think scanlan’s feral, per se? like this one was hard because scanlan’s a lot of feral adjacent things, and kaylie i would say is definitely the feral one of the two shorthalts. but scanlan, a bit like fjord, has too many walls, too much self restraint, too many lies to hide behind. he has a -2 to wisdom but he’s rarely impulsive, he thinks an incredible amount about everything he does, without telling anyone. which can lead to the amazing moments where he swoops in at the last second and saves everyone, or it can lead to the growing resentment of feeling like your friends don’t appreciate you. scanlan could be mistaken for feral because he’s loud, or because he has a sense of humour that’s largely sex focused, or because he doesn’t seem to care what people think about him, or because he’s always down for ridiculous plans, but all of those are just walls protecting him. and equally like, when he decides to care about something, he’s so careful with it. scanlan shorthalt is many things, but feral is not one of them
8 - tary. no. just, no.

some notes/headcanons about my dragonborn (or. my main one. medea) (spoilers for the dark brotherhood questline)Â
- level headed and fearless, but very aware of her own mortality. keeps a lot of journals and an extensive will for all her treasures/etc. remembers everyone who shows her kindness and intends to honor it. tells her wife Everything, but feels their children are too young to know all the truths of their mothers’ lives, though she hopes to tell them one day. they know about alain, but not nilsine.Â
- never takes off her wedding ring. i keep this actively in-game canon, i never take it offÂ
- still has no memory of who she was before she woke up at helgen, and as her searching has come up with nothing - no one who knows her or recognizes her, no relations, nothing - she’s starting to accept the fact that she may never know. highly suspects that she may, in fact, always have been an assassin - it comes so easily and naturally to her, no matter how she tries to be a good person. still holding on to the belief that all things work toward the greater good in the end
- her full name is Medea Vodahmin - “Medea” being her given name, the only thing she remembered, and “Vodahmin” being the dragon word for “forgotten/unremembered”, which she adopted because she cannot remember her true surname (or herself). Her family likely do not share this name with her - Medea respects and values the freedom to find one’s identity for themself, and so is allowing her daughters to decide whether they want to keep their original surnames (as both are adopted), or take Muiri’s, take Medea’s, choose names for themselves, or eventually take on their future spouses’ names, if they choose to marry. (the game doesn’t give any canon surname for muiri, lucia, or sofie, but i figure they probably have them anyway. I like to think sofie might keep hers in honor of her birth parents, which Medea would respect and not take offense to, but lucia, who was turned out by her family, might decide to take Medea’s, who rescued her)
- not afraid of dragons, but knowing their intelligence and the things she could learn from them, she wishes she did not have to fight them - and generally won’t pick fights with them out in the wilds - but if a dragon attacks civilians or lands too close to a city, she’s more than capable of taking it down. takes her status as Dragonborn very seriously and has deep respect for the Greybeards.Â
- has named nazir as her successor in the event anything happens to her. decided this very quickly, as she considers her death very likely given her lifestyle, and does not want to leave the brotherhood in a state of chaos again after the recent loss
- also made nazir give his word that cicero will remain under the brotherhood’s protection and will be treated with respect and kindness in the event of her death. she has made every arrangement she can to ensure he will be safe without her. nazir does not remotely understand this, but respects her, so has agreed to her wishes
- the “family” has become her life - she sacrificed so much for these people, and found that the Sanctuary was the one place she felt understood, welcome in all her faults and secrets, and her true talents recognized. she loved her fellow assassins dearly, and went into deep mourning after the destruction of the brotherhood. she cannot bring herself to be angry with astrid - only feels intense sorrow over how things turned out. she locked herself in the dawnstar sanctuary bedroom for quite some time after the move, asking babette to keep everyone away. cicero, however, darted past her and broke in anyway - and to everyone’s surprise, medea allowed it. he was the only one she would speak to
- once brought cicero to meet her family - after a respectful, but very stern discussion about boundaries and his expected behavior (no mention of murder in front of the children, don’t make my wife uncomfortable, behave yourself) which he actually took quite seriously (having understood the severity of her tone, and recognizing the importance of being the only member ever invited to meet the Listener’s family) and acted a perfect gentleman, if still a bit unhinged. muiri finds him a little unsettling, but trusted that medea would not have brought him if it wasn’t safe. their daughters love him, believing him to be nothing more than mama’s silly jester friend she met on her travels (this is not in-game canon, though - i did bring him to see them once, but there was no special interaction or anything, not that i really expected any)Â
- often spends time in prayer or meditation of some kind in front of her memorial to the lost members. says she misses festus most of all. asks all others to keep out of her bedroom during this time - a rule which cicero ignores, but knows not to talk to her, and will often just come to sit with her. she does not seem to mind his company, and its one of the only times hes ever quiet
- keeps tokens from all her kills, as she feels it is important to remember them - not as trophies (with the exception of commander maro’s sword - that one was an act of pure vengeance) , but mementos. rings, daggers, etc, taken from the victims’ bodies and inscribed with their names, so that she cannot forget any of the lives she’s ended. sometimes leaves flowers by the bodies. regrets killing anoriath, and though she cannot bring herself to tell elrindir the truth, she intends on having the bow she took from his body returned in the event of her death, along with a note, not asking forgiveness or seeking redemption, but telling him the truth for his own closure. considered doing this for torbjorn shatter-shield, but decided against it to protect her wife on her passing. nilsine and anoriath are the only kills she never really got overÂ
- deeply fascinated with the daedra. research turned to exploring shrines and temples she was vehemently warned against, which turned to communing with several daedric princes herself, which turned to more bloodshed. finds herself almost uncontrollably drawn to them, and cannot explain why she is so quick to obey them. may be negatively influenced by the various probably cursed artifacts she’s interacted with/picked up/etc more than she realizes. respects the Divines, but doesn’t feel as if she has a personal connection to them - it feels like more of a Nord thing to her
- distrusts nords pretty much universally. always glad to see another elf, immediately more likely to side with them/assist them, but doesn’t really feel any sense of belonging among them either. she recognizes other dark elves as her kin, but as she has no memory of her own family, heritage, or even culture, she feels alienated among them, too. has a particular fondness for khajiit and argonians, relating to the feeling of being ostracized/”stranger in a strange land” and considers the group of wandering khajiit merchants dear friends. (there’s actually a dark brotherhood contract out on one of them, but i. completed that one entirely on accident before it was even assigned to me bc he got killed somehow in an altercation with a dragon, so i dont really consider that my fault or a betrayal lmao. i didnt even know he was a target at the time and i still dont know if the dragon killed him or if i did accidentally)Â

new daxam cheat sheet:
ruled by rhea, queen of daxam
rhea retained her status through combat
there is a high council who discusses major decisions and etc. but rhea has final authoritative say
think wakanda but not near that ideal (new daxam’s got more selfish assholes on its council who just want power, as opposed to what is best for new daxam and its people)
bit of political upheaval, particularly post-invasion and move to antarctica
factions of daxamites who don’t like moving from daxam to antarctica, which is bolstered by the inability to grow their plants (which is really just difficulty, it’ll just take some time, but even then, if they’d just rebuilt on daxam, they wouldn’t have that issue)
the idea that invading earth was rhea putting herself and her desire to get her son back proves she doesn’t actually care about daxam
factions who now think rhea is unhinged (for even trying to invade, as well as for moving everyone back)
factions who don’t like rhea visiting national city as often as she does
factions who think they shouldn’t have chosen peace (the idea that rhea has shown herself to be weak by backing down)
typically in the process of rebuilding
significantly more tech than most of earth
doesn’t ally itself with human countries and prefers to be separate from them
basically elves because daxamites live significantly longer than humans do
some daxamites have super powers, some don’t, because some of the new “royalty” were servants who killed their masters and took over their ships after fleeing from daxam. the powers may differ depending on who you interact with
probably an alien safe haven
very strict towards criminals
death penalty is very much a thing
if rhea catches you doing a criminal thing, she’ll probably kill you. don’t steal from rhea
