International Criminal Court prosecutors warned on Friday against "individuals who threaten to retaliate" against the tribunal or its staff, saying such actions might constitute an "offence against its administration of justice".
[...]
"That independence and impartiality are undermined, however, when individuals threaten to retaliate against the court or against court personnel" if it "made decisions" about probes that fell in its mandate, it said.
"Such threats, even not acted upon, may constitute an offence" against the ICC's "administration of justice", it said.
"The Office insists that all attempts to impede, intimidate or improperly influence its officials cease immediately."

Saturday afternoon I ran into Gibernau in the paddock.
"I heard that tomorrow HRC are having a press conference," he said.
"That's right, just after the race," I replied.
"You'll say you're staying at Honda, won't you?" he asked.
"No, actually. I'll announce I'm moving to Yamaha," I answered.
I saw a flash in his eyes. First astonishment, then happiness. I could tell he had done some quick thinking and figured that it would only be good for him. He reckoned that I wouldn't do much on a Yamaha. I could read it on his face, just as I later could read it in the faces of so many other people who doubted me and my choice.

@fishyio replied to your post “so, what's up with korvin's parents? they're just...”:
COMPLETELY relate with the whole asian culture+background thing. had to stop a few times when reading this post bc i felt so Understood. i think that's what makes your SIs so compelling and engaging for me– because i can relate deeply to them and their behaviours etc. that and that your writing is fantastic :) other than that it's really interesting to see the thought you put into your SIs. thanks for the post!
writing for all the "underrepresented" nd diaspora asians in fandom lol ✌✌
in seriousness: thank you for your compliments, i'm happy that what i write feels resonant to readers. "relatability" isn't the end all be all, as many writing quips and advice will state, but a lot of those statements are made in this vacuum of an assumed default. and that assumed default is usually (in western fandom) an acultural whiteness influenced by christian norms.
thus, to people not of that default and grew up needing to blend in with it (east asians being model minorities and having an "easier time," sort of), "relatability" is an oasis, a grounding point, reorientation. it's something others will take for granted until they don't have it; it's something i couldn't find so i made my own, and i'm happy it lead you to my writing.

Speaking of Will dating an older guy that Jonathan has a complicated history with: I am thinking of a Steve/Will fic I once ran across. That’s a pairing that, IMO, is messy but not inherently wrong if Will is at least 19, and only potentially awkward because of Steve’s history with Jonathan once Will is 22 or 23. But Will was 16 and Steve was 21 in the fic, which falls into “not statutory rape in Indiana but that 21yo is almost certainly bad news.” And, what was more, Steve in this story was INCREDIBLY self-righteous about it. There was a scene where Jonathan raised some very mild objections and Steve was like HOW DARE YOU CRITICIZE ME. AT LEAST I DON’T SMOKE WEED ALL THE TIME. Which. Amazing. No notes. If I was writing the villain of a poor-taste stoner comedy circa 2002, that’s exactly what I’d have him do.

Chess teaches a great deal of useful skills. Foresight, circumspection, caution… Never show impatience. Always think several moves ahead. Most importantly, never hurry your opponent.

If I could identify any coherent thesis behind SHOSHIMIN Series, it's how the world is often unfair and cruel to those who don't fit in. Implicitly, then, it is also about how the world is often unfair and cruel to neurodivergent people. In fact, if I can identify a commonality among the conversations here, it's that none of these people are "normal," and they are continuously striving for a normalcy that they don't have. Often by trying to impose it on others. Such is common among friend groups with a lot of neurodivergent people in them, unless care is taken to avoid it.
The extremely mundane "detective work" provides something of a hook (and while I haven't seen it, I believe it also calls back to the author's previous series), but these are only indirectly, I think, related to the show's actual point. Who can say, though? It might have some other cards to play, SHOSHIMIN remains an intriguingly circumspect work.

i would not be surprised if some variation of kidney (beans???) became a meme codephrase signifier ??? that hey this person is very unsafe
it kinda already is 😅 can't live together for over a year without creating a household lexicon
"they want your kidneys" - this organization/entity/person's fixations/intentions are of a specific nature that makes them very unsafe

Some people might be saying that Richard Ellis was extremely courageous when he rescued Thomas Barrow in DA1. I still think that he was literally insane.
This man walked into a police station, lied into the face of a Police Officer, telling him that Thomas is definitely not one of these dirty queers and that he would rather be dead than one of them.
And five minutes later he proceeded to touch Thomas on the lips and flirt with him right in front of the police station.
This man has some guts.
