What type of soup is ur favorit

Back when I was still eating meat, I could never say no to mom's meatball soup. The Romanian word for it is "ciorbă de perișoare", and the broth is sour, called borscht. I'd eat it with with fresh bread, sometimes with a spicy pickled pepper or raw onion. Mom has her own twist to the meatballs, too. In most recipes you'll find them as meat only, but she rolls them in semolina before boiling them.

Since moving to Germany I started cooking more cream soups and Asian recipes instead. Especially in fall, I like to bake some cherry tomatoes with peppers and onions, then blend everything in a creamy soup, which I serve with toasted bread and garlic confit as a spread. :)

Yeah, the fact that Mia knew her hubby was "special" makes me wonder just how and when she came to that conclusion? I mean, she´s probably been prescripted her meds right after the Baker incident, so I guess that did raise the question of whether her husband has sustained some lasting "damage" as well. Or maybe it´s more the fact he didn´t show any lasting damage in the first place? Maybe that´s what urged her to investigate? Can´t get the researcher out of a girl, after all...

But like, did she secretly take a sample of his blood and had it checked or smt? (Something I can totally see her doing, btw.) Did he cut himself with a knife at some point and, due to his insane regenerative abilities, his wound closed up so quickly that Mia just drew the conclusion? ANYHOW-

Mia is basically a much less unhinged version of Miranda. Their freaks match so well in a way that is absolutely sinful, and I will forever be smad that we got Ethan instead of Mia as the protag in Village. Like, can you imagine the sexual tension of two mothers facing off in a battle for what each of them considers hers?? Can you imagine their lines as well?? You can bet your ass they would´ve destroyed each other through verbal sparring alone because yall just know my girl Mia ain´t a pushover. She´s the kind of woman who, as Ethan put it, "is scary when she gets angry."

...I fully believe that.

I rewatched some of Chris´s part to study Mia´s behavior when she spills the beans, and at the beginning of the vid he was like "I took Ethan in case Miranda infected him" and it got me thinking.

Like, yknow, it never occured to me that the Ciorbă de Legumes Miranda!Mia was cooking up at the beginning of the game might actually contain CADOU???? WHA- 💀

I mean, I just always assumed she was gonna poison him or smt. Yknow, just kill him slowly and painfully right then and there so she wouldn´t have to deal with him anymore. But the more I think about it, the more it makes sense.

Mia sending her husband to put their daughter to bed is totally something a doting mother and wife would do. Absolutely. But, in the context of Village, it would also absolutely make sense for Miranda to get Ethan off her back long enough to be able to add a lil extra "seasoning".

And then we see Ethan waking up???! Why is it so moving to just see him despite him supposedly being dead and despite that info and talking to Eveline, his only thought is his daughter and he has to save her it's just so touching like

I thought the whole thing was sad af. Ethan realising he´s been a dead man walking all along - both figuratively and literally - is just so tragic. The only thing that keeps him going is his daughter, which only adds salt to the wound, really.

And then you have Eveline mocking him like-

Yeahhh, tbh? To this day, I don´t quite know what to make of the Duke. He´s not really "evil", but he´s no saint either. He´s doing what he´s doing mostly because it benefits him in one way or another. If he doesn´t think a good deal will come of it, I doubt he´ll bother.

With that said, I think the main (if not the only) reason he rescued Ethan was to "get back" at Miranda for destroying his source of income, aka: the village and its people.

I´d love to think of the Duke as an honorable man, but...sad reality is: he´s probs not. At least not the canon version. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The mold dripping from one eye is Miranda weakening, yes. And the reason her power is leaving her is actually Rose herself (or so I´ve read). Even as a baby, Rose is so powerful that the "data" (Eva´s consciousness) can´t get through. Her lil body is instinctively pushing back against an invasive force, so Eva never actually gets the chance to "take form." It´s Rose all along, which is why Miranda is so upset in the first place.

Rose basically "saps" Miranda´s powers.

I ugly cried during this. I still do, every time I see it. Ethan´s death was just so unexpected and heartbreaking after everything he´s been through. Like, that man fought his way through hell TWICE to get his family back, so I didn´t expect his ending to be so tragic. I didn´t think he would be gone for good, yknow? He deserved better. 😭

Village was the first Resi game I cried over. 😢

Btw, there´s a DLC called "Shadows of Rose" that I highly recommend you play/watch. I myself haven´t played it yet cause I wanna finish Village first, but that´s the next game on my list. Legend is from eastern europe.

the reason that mf is so salty all the damn time is because he grew up eating sour ciorbă for nearly every meal. was it because it was all they could make with their little amount of recourses? yes, yes it was. But this also means that he knows a lot of other meals and skills that allow him to conjure good meals out of nothing (making your own yogurt, bread when all you have is the crusts, mămăligă polenta which is really just cornmeal)

He grew up on stories of the horrors (tm) and has most definitely struggled with alcohol. Was it the balkan genes or the struggle of leaving koholint? he’ll never really be sure.

Also this opens the doors to him being raised devoutly religious and then realizing that very same god doesn’t care for him. Good ol’ religious trauma.

Also probably why he knows embroidering and sewing, loved to watch his mom/grandma when they were still here

anyway I could keep going off about this. Shout out if any of you are from the balkans too. RAHHHHH

Any advice for dealing with a hangover?

In Romania, when we are hungover, we eat Ciorbă de Burtă.

Finally, Yuriko had managed to get Ruki out to the yard with Tsukimi. She smiled when the duo disappeared behind the bushes. Now, was her chance! 

It would have been impossible to surprise Ruki in the morning, for he was always up before Yuriko. Sometimes even Tsukimi was awake before her. But now, everything was perfect. So, while Ruki was having a father-daughter moment outside, Yuriko worked in the kitchen and, in the end, set the table. 

Yuriko had never made such a dish before. Ciorbă de fasole. She couldn’t even pronounce the name. But it smelled and looked decent. Next to Ruki’s plate, she put a small gift bag with two tiny gifts.

As Ruki and Tsukimi roamed in, the baby girl snoozing happily, Yuriko welcomed them home and pecked Ruki’s cheek.

“Happy Father’s Day, Ruki~”

Sorry, I know it's not the 16th anymore. This was ready on my PC... but you know, how the weekend was...

Yuriko's behavior in the morning was a little suspicious. However with the prospect of some father-daughter time, the vampire let it slide and did not think too much about possible reasons.

Now he enjoyed the fresh air and focused on the quality time with Tsukimi. Watching his daughter, Ruki found it still amusing how she literally 'fought' with the wind. Oh how fascinating babies can be...

Time flew by and the exploration team called it a day. Nap time for the little angel.

As soon as they entered, an unusual but delicious scent crept into the vampire's nose. Was this what Yuriko had in mind earlier?

Together with Tsukimi, Ruki entered the dining room where the kitsune was already waiting for the two. The young woman's beaming was impossible to miss and surprise spread across Ruki's face. He had never paid attention to this special day before. But now he was a father too. Slowly, joy emerged and Ruki smiled widely.

"Thank you, Yuriko."

A peck on the cheek was not enough to express what the vampire was feeling at that moment. A smooch full of love on the lips was appropriate. Ruki was sure that this was the best way for Yuriko to understand his emotions.

"I have to admit you caught me off guard."

He brushed her cheek lovingly. "Such a nice surprise." Happily, the dark-haired man grinned and sat down with Tsukimi sleeping in his arms. "Come on, let us eat your food, my angel."

What a successful Father's Day. Ruki enjoyed the meal prepared by Yuriko to the fullest and was very happy about the gifts. Eventually, he sneaked out a little later and changed Tsukimi's clothes to present his little 'unicorn' to his brothers.
