RIOT (2018) dir. Jeffrey Walker In 1978, when the push to decriminalize homosexuality has stalled, a group of activists decide they must make one final attempt to celebrate who they are. Led by former union boss Lance Gowland, they get a police permit and spread the word. On a freezing winter's night, they cloak themselves in fancy dress, join hands, and parade down Oxford Street. But they have no idea that angry police lie in wait, and the courage they find that night will finally mobilize the nation. (requested by @haveyouseenthisqueerfilm, link in title)

I watched an entire movie in the cinema last night while wearing my sunglasses and let me just tell you it's the best thing I've done in a while.
I had work at the hospital in the morning and the lights there are super bright (i wish I could turn them down but sadly that's not an option for my area so I just suffer every shift) so I had a headache. Then I went to the shops with friends and the headache kept building so I put on sunnies to block some of the light and rest my eyes (and took like. So much advil lol). We decided to go see Gladiator 2 at the cinema and I was like "Okay ill probably take these off and put on my actual glasses when we get there" like a normal person would. But fun fact! You don't have to do that!
I had them off walking in but because they're prescription I had to put them back on to find my seat (my actual glasses were in my bag and I didn't want to fight with that at the door I was gunna get them once I sat down). Found it, sat down, looked at the screen where the trailers were playing and. Hang on. I can see great right now? These are prescription so nothing's blury. And they are the perfect darkness/level of polarised that i can still see everything but nothing hurts?
I stg i felt like I unlocked the secrets of the universe when I realised I could just. Keep them on. I have finally found a way to adjust the brightness at the cinema! (Granted my friends said i looked like the guy from Weekend at Bernie's but that's beside the point). Watched the whole movie with the sunnies on. My head didn't hurt (anymore than it had before). I actually enjoyed the movie. Was amazing
10/10 recommend wearing sunglasses to the cinema 😂🙌🏻

MY FIRST SUMMER (2020) dir. Katie Found 16-year-old Claudia has grown up in isolation from the outside world. Stranded on a remote property after her mother's death, she is shocked when Grace, a spirited local teen, appears in the garden like a mirage, a breath of fresh, sugary air. The pair find in each other the support, love and intimacy they need, and teach each other the restorative power of human connection. But their idyllic peace is a fragile one as the adult world closes in and threatens their secret summer love. (link in title)
