How focused she's been, making sure to get another letter out to....who? Some boy? The teasing practically wrote itself as he sticks his tongue out and moves back.

" Mom mentioned we're going to be on our own tonight, that doesn't mean you can eat my snacks! "

. . .there's that familiar sounding sigh in response.

She's not bickering back the way he's used to, despite the comebacks fully prepped and loaded to respond with - nothing. Come to think of it - did she ever get anything back? Is that why she seemed so down? It's not as fun when she's so depressed.

she walked briskly, hands grasping onto her school-issued bag. it was a long day & all rei wanted was to get home. her mind was too loud right now, requiring the sweet, sweet quietness of the temple. ruminating over the number of chores awaiting her ( compounded by upcoming exams & school festivities, she was overcome with a multitude of tasks ) — her perceptive ears caught the sound of footsteps rushing towards her, making the miko-in training turn around with an incredulous look upon her visage. rei's expression softened in something akin to curiosity at the image of her moon rabbit of a friend barreling towards her. arms extended to wrap around her neck tightly, almost causing the slightly taller girl to stumble.

❝ whoa, whoa, usagi-chan! ❞ despite herself, rei placed her hands on the blonde's back to hold her. even a smile managed to break through — ❝ were you ... on your way to see me ? ❞ ( why the sheepishness all of a sudden? what was so embarrassing about visitors? or ... people who wanted her company. )

𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛  𝗛𝗘𝗥  𝗔𝗥𝗠  𝗡𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗟𝗬  𝗪𝗥𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗗  and  a  snug  sling  tied  over  her  shoulder  to  boot,  there's  not  much  room  for  argument.  she's  been  benched,  the  consequence  of  her  latest  reckless  stunt.  and  really,  she  can't  grumble  and  groan,  it's  her  own  fault--  𝘩𝘦𝘳  𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥  𝘭𝘶𝘤𝘬  𝘸𝘢𝘴  𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥  𝘵𝘰  𝘳𝘶𝘯  𝘰𝘶𝘵  𝘢𝘯𝘥  𝘰𝘯𝘦  𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵  𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳.  it's  never  easy  though,  delegating  even  the  simplest  of  tasks  to  her  new  helper.  and  what  a  great  one  she  is,  even  with  the  two  glasses  lost  to  her  clumsiness  and  the  stained  rug  in  her  room.  it  wouldn't  be  impossible,  honestly,  to  at  least  grab  a  few  things,  save  usagi  the  extra  trip. 

but  the  tiny  blonde  won't  have  it!  she's  got  a  finger  poking  at  mina's  forehead,  a  loving  jab  that  keeps  her  sat  still,  begrudgingly  obedient.  no  fuss,  no  foul,  she'll  relent  for  now,  throwing  a  while  flag  up  in  her  defeated  sigh.  no  use  in  moping,  but  she'll  indulge  in  wallowing,  she'll  give  herself  that,  ❝  i'm  always  pretty,  usa-chan,  i  just  want  to  be  𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣𝗙𝗨𝗟.  ❞  a  lament  that's  followed  by  the  droop  of  her  head,  ❝  weh..  can  i  at  least  grab  you  some  rags?  since  that  doesn't  require  actual  lifting..  please?  ❞

WHAT SHAPE DOES YOUR PAIN TAKE?

You're drowning. A sea of emotions, responsibilities, people, things, everything. You just can't handle it all, you need to escape, but you can't. Even talking to someone and being told it's okay, compliments, nice things people say, it all adds up to drown you further. Guilt, for feeling this way when everyone's being nice and you're not enough. Will you sink or swim?

Due to the number of questions in the comments about what to do about your answer, I've added some strategies that might be helpful on each answer! 

Number one thing... Is you need a way to vent. You start to drown when you internalize everything and it eventually becomes too much to bear. Paint an image that represents your feelings, dance your heart out, write down everything that's bothering you and on your mind and then burn/rip up the paper, talk to someone, have a good cry in the shower and just acknowledge everything you're feeling. Get it out somehow, and you'll feel better. And find a way to consistently get it out, don't let it build up to your breaking point before you do anything about it. For me that's dance classes, I go almost on a daily basis and put all my feelings into whatever choreography or practice I do and let each movement let out any anger, sadness, jealousy, fear, or other pent up emotions.

Giant,

why did the author kill you off?

Morals=Mortality. Every story has themes, with lessons within those themes. Your death was in service of one (or more) of these, your life made forfeit in favour of imparting wisdom... or what the author presented as wisdom. Were you too kind? Too trusting? Too forgiving? Did a cruel author kill you to prove that happy endings do not exist? Or were you too proud to ask for help? Too angry to let the past go? Did the author hold a mirror up to the protagonist, showing them your death where the reflection was supposed to go? On one hand, your death is pitiable, for it does not belong to you. On the other, you have been granted a gift many spend their whole lives searching for: A purpose. May you find comfort and truth within the circumstances of your demise (and may we all).

Least favourite trope?

Funnily enough, the Zombie Apocalypse trope used to be my jam back in the day, but at this point it has become really, really stale for me. I think what really made me like it back in the day was because of all the potential angst. But looking at it now, that is about everything that trope has. And if that is everything a trope has, it’s not interesting to me anymore. In a world where society has fallen and you’re constantly on run from human-eating zombies and you don’t know if you’re going to live to see another day or not, even if there are small moments of peace, you just know that shit is going to go hit the fan eventually. I love angst as much as the next person, but in plots like this it feels like it’s unavoidable and you have to include character deaths. Sure, you don’t have to include it in the story, but then that takes away like half the excitement from a trope like that because you know that nothing life-threatening will really happen to the characters. Basically, it’s very difficult for me to feel satisfied with a plot like that. If I’m going to write any post-apocalypse plots, I would prefer if they’re inspired by Fallout or something like that instead because those universes feel far more ‘stable’ and interesting, and doesn’t have to rely on constant angst. Maybe I’m wrong about the zombie trope, but I’m mostly just going by my own experiences with it. I’m sure there are plots that in that trope that aren’t relying on angst.

Are there certain characters that you gravitate towards?

I’ve started to see a pattern where my subconscious is trying to compensate for my own lack of confidence by gravitating towards characters that has a lot of it SDFHSDJHF Looking back at it, out of all of my ‘main’ muses I’ve ever had throughout the years, maybe one of them ( even though they aren’t exactly lacking it ) isn’t directly fitting into the “character with high confidence”-type. Weird how it took me this long to see the pattern, though.

What about your muse are you most proud of?

I don’t know. I just know that I feel proud whenever I finish writing a headcanon I’ve been meaning to finish for a while. To be fair though, by that logic that feeling could be applied to any of my muses and not just Sebastian. But he’s the only one whose portrayal I’ve put that much time and effort into ever, so I guess maybe says a little about how much I do care about him as a muse. I’m not proud of everything I do for him, but there are some things here and there that I am, and I can’t say that one thing is making me more proud than another.

"Mina-P! Mina-P!" Usagi's voice reached her fellow blonde before she did, but when she did, she latched onto her arm, a look of giddy excitement flushing her face. It could also have been because she had sprinted toward her once she saw her, but we'll just say it's excitement.

"Did you hear?! Apparently, there's going to be an idol group performing at the mall nearby tomorrow! No one knows who it will be, but they've probably gotta be super famous if they're keeping it hush-hush, right?"

WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE SMELL LIKE ? She tends to smell like strawberries and lilies. Though her mate thinks she smells like something different as her core scent-though not entirely certain what that is now. 

WHAT DO YOUR MUSE’S HANDS FEEL LIKE ? Rough and yet soft at the same time. Working with a bow for most of her adult life has calloused her hands, however they are soft and gentle because she is at heart a healer.

WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE USUALLY EAT IN A DAY ? Not a lot She has an everlasting residual effect from a time when she had anorexia, and tends to not eat much of anything due to it. Inuyasha will generally have to step in and remind her and also make her eat more often than not. However-she generally makes grilled fish, rice, pickled vegetables and miso soup for breakfasts, and bentos for lunches-and whatever she can figure out to make for dinners.

DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE A GOOD SINGING VOICE ?   She can sing~ She often doesn’t, and will play her flute instead, but she can sing.

DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE ANY BAD HABITS OR NERVOUS TICKS? She chews on her lower lip a lot. And she gets super defensive really easily. Also, probably due to living with Inuyasha for more than half her life, she’s also quick to getting her fuse lit when things annoy her. 

WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE USUALLY LOOK LIKE / WEAR ?  Kagome usually wears the miko’s kosode no hakama now a days, at least while home, though she also wears a variety of kimono, yukata and furisode as well. When in the modern era she’ll wear leather a lot more often then not, but she’ll also wear blue or yellow dresses. Her hair is more often then not loose, and free-flowing. She dioesn’t really put it up at all, except on occasions of course. Jewelry wise-she has a single ruby pendant earring hanging from her left ear always. And she has a tattoo of small bat-like wings with crimson tips on her shoulder blades. 

IS YOUR MUSE AFFECTIONATE  ? HOW SO ?  She’s very open and caring, and very affectionate with her immediate family-physically and verbally. She’ll go as far as to hug friends, and comfort anyone, stranger or no when they’re in a time of stressful duress with a hug too.

WHAT POSITION DOES YOUR MUSE SLEEP IN ? When sleeping alone, which is rare now, she sleeps curled in a ball on her sides. When sleeping with her mate-curled up in his arms with her frame partially wrapped around his. .

COULD YOU HEAR YOUR MUSE IN THE HALLWAY FROM ANOTHER ROOM ? Depends. Sometimes even when she’s annoyed she can be silent as a wraith, but of course she also can be as loud as a bansidhe too. She talks semi-soft on a normal basis-so she may be able to be heard--but you’d have to be pressed up against the door of the room and listening hard. lol
