Love as a Threshold.

Giant,

HOW DO YOU NEED TO BE LOVED?

like a child loves the rain. you need to be loved in happiness and foolishness. a puppy love, a love so purely good, so full of happiness it makes your stomach ache. you need to be loved in a way that reminds you of the childhood you didn’t get to have. you need to be loved as if you’re feeling the rain fall upon your cheeks for the first time. refreshing, and clean.

“feh. where the hell’s this comin’ from?” he’s side-eyeing her. squinting as though he doesn’t believe her when she says it. & some part of inuyasha doesn’t: but he’s been alone for decades now. learned to distrust humans and demons alike. why should it matter what some stuffy, up-turned priestess thought of him??

lucky? how was anything either of them had gone through ‘lucky’? in any way, shape or form? inuyasha didn’t believe in luck: luck had done fuck all for him. where was luck when his father had been attacked the night he’d been born? where was luck when his mother had been attacked that day in the field? where was luck when his half-brother had abandoned inuyasha to fend on his own?

these bitter thoughts gathered and weighed on him so heavily, that any attempt from kikyou to praise him and make him feel better with her words had failed spectacularly. maybe he was just too jaded to truly appreciate what it was she meant. too young to grasp. too blinded by anger and self-loathing and self-pity to really hear her.

in fact, inuyasha sneered at her next, eyebrows furrowing and lips turning downward into a snarled frown. he reached out and grabbed at her wrist, harshly and fiercely. his pupils were dilated in that growing anger. unblinking as he stared across at the priestess,

“lucky?” his grip threatened to tighten, his fingers shook. if he wasn’t careful he’d break a bone. realising this, inuyasha hurriedly released his hold on her and turned away. a scoff left him as he pivoted so his back was towards her, hands resting in the sleeves of his fire rat robe, “whatever.” he didn’t want to bother wasting his words with her.

he doubted she’d ever understand him anyway.

that was.... sora felt his stomach clenching, and he breathed out gently. how to word this in a way that didn’t invalidate kagome, but also didn’t condemn asahi?

his expression serious, yet still gentle, sora gave a little nod. eyes were blazing with that same confidence as when he’d sworn to hana that he would help her husband.

“...i don’t agree with what asahi’s done. not at all. but.... i understand it. kind of.” it hurt to, admit to, but... sora lifted a hand, rubbed at the side of his neck. his eyes darted away from kagome, roaming the air as though searching for some invisible answers or meaning, “i think, if things didn’t end up changing... if i never met you, or miro, or sango, shippou, sa-chan, kazonii.... i might’a ended up just like asahi,”

expression softening, sora continued, “he’s struggling too. suffering too. that doesn’t mean he should get to just do as he wants, but... asahi deserves to be helped too. it wouldn’t feel right to me, if i only protected my friends and no one else. i wanna protect everybody.

no one deserves to be left alone, to be hated, or to suffer.”

what type of villain would you be?

tragic villain;;

everyone thinks you're very melodramatic because you never miss an opportunity to break out in lengthy monologues about everything that is wrong with the society. but you are deeply misunderstood. the world has scarred you and now you're simply trying to get even. the hero says you go too far in trying to achieve that and so they conclude that you must be stopped. just because you killed a few people. you have a perfectly logical reason for that. the hero would actually see your point if they stopped being a sanctimonious asshole for once and would just hear you out. or maybe you're actually wrong somewhat.... you'll think about it later.

her words caused a warmth to unfurl and spread inside of his chest. sora's heart thudded gingerly, yet rapidly. his friends... he swallowed thickly, tears pricking along the corners of his eyes & sora smiled so gently, yet so confidently.

he nodded, his gaze lifting up and staring skyward. the sengoku period wasn't constantly overwhelmed with rain thanks to des. so sora could enjoy the sunlight and white fluffy clouds again. his hand clenched into a fist gingerly, as sora thought over kikyou's words,

"i know." that smile turned a bit toothy, eyes narrowed in warmth, "i'm glad that you're all here for me. thanks!" his attentions returned to her, and he held a hand out for her, to shake. sora wanted kikyou to know that she was just as much his friend as kagome and the others.
