also RE: catholic aesthetics being stolen, I mentioned the universalism but Catholicism makes art the way it does as a propaganda tactic and a lot of that gilding and shit you see in churches was funded by ethnic cleansing and genocide so. I personally don't think it should just be bandied about as fun and pretty (I do think there's power in political art that engages with the abuses of the church). also if it ticks you off that might be the point lmao

don't mess with the nuns of the church of ice, more specifically the "head nun" of the church, Rocma, she can tear demons apart with her bare paws. ------ no te metas con las monjas de la iglesia del hielo, mas específicamente la "monja jefe" de la iglesia, Rocma, ella puede despedazar demonios con sus propias garras. --- Ice Scream (and Rocma) by Funamusea "Church of ice" AU (and Nun!Rocma) by me, UnGojiraSapiente

Would you happen to know where the *heck* is the Church Yui visits in HBD? I'm so confused rn lol. In Shuu's route he mentions that the priest is absent? (Does he mean Seiji???) So like is it the same church Yui grew up in? How is that possible. I'm writing a fic and im grasping at straws right now. *help*
Admin:
1) The run-down abandoned church mentioned in Shū and Subaru’s HDB route is located a bit away from the Sakamaki Mansion—almost behind it.
2) Shū’s HDB route: Yui states the ‘Head Priest’ is absent—NOT in reference to her father—but to another that is the head of THAT select church.
3) No it’s not the same church Yui grew up in, since one cannot grow up in a church, but a monastery.
[She most likely grew up GOING to a church in Europe, but not living there. Although she does mention she was raised or aided in being raised by nuns—which may suggest her upbringing in a monastery.]
[But let’s be honest—she was surrounded by nuns due to her adoptive father’s position in the church—and never ONCE lived in a monastery. It was just due to aesthetic purposes that Yui’s old home in games resembles a chapel, just to highlight Seiji’s position once more.]
Difference between Church and Monastery:
Church: Place of religious worship, oftentimes for Catholicism or Christianity denominations. No one LIVES there, simply devotes their time to BE there.
Monastery: Private community where nuns or monks dedicate themselves to worship and prayer—LIVING at the institution.
Hope this helps anon!!
