The fact that Yoshi gets a brand new frisbee every single year for Christmas sounds ludicrous when you consider that she is 10lbs and still has nearly every toy she’s ever been given right from the day she came home because she simply does not rip apart her toys. She needs us to cut the seams so she can unstuff toys, and barely bites hard enough to make half of them squeak
But believe me when I say, she needs a new disc every. Single. Year.

Took Tassie out to play in what little snow melt we had and figured I could talk dog toys for a bit. Ever notice your dog getting frustrated or ignoring certain toys outside? There's a very good chance color is the problem! Most people know but need to be reminded that dogs are red/green color blind, and if you're trying to play with a red toy in green or yellow grass they're going to have a really hard time finding it, especially if it's dirty or the brightness is faded. This floppy flyer is Tassie's least favorite outdoor toy but for play in water it was the number 1 choice to make sure she didn't get frustrated looking for it in the taller grass and in the water. If you can find them blue toys are the best for visibility, and I like the Chuckit toys for the strong blue-fluorescent-orange contrast. Makes it easier for human and dog to find them!

ChuckIt! Amphibious Bumper Fetch and Float Dog Toy Review [2023]
Tumblr media
Today, I'll be sharing my review of the ChuckIt! Amphibious Bumper Fetch and Float Dog Toy. Let me tell you about my experience with this product. First of all, this toy is designed specifically for water fetch fun, whether it's at the pool, beach, or lake. The lightweight memory foam bumper makes it easy to throw and retrieve. I found that the knotted rope handle provides a secure grip, which is especially important when playing in the water. The colors of the bumper may vary, which adds a fun element of surprise. One of the things I really liked about this toy is its soft and durable construction. It's made of nylon, rubber, and EVA foam, which not only makes it soft on my dog's gums and teeth but also withstands aggressive chewing. Plus, it's super easy to clean - just rinse it off. I appreciate that it's a toy that can handle some rough play without falling apart. Key Takeaways: ChuckIt! Amphibious Bumper Fetch and Float Dog Toy - Perfect for water fetch and float activities. - Lightweight and durable construction. - Easy to clean and maintain. - May have durability issues with the rope. - Color choice is not available.
Pros and Cons
Tumblr media
What We Liked - Perfect for water fetch and float - Lightweight memory foam bumper for easy throwing - Knotted rope handle for a secure grip in the water - Soft and durable construction - Easy to clean What Can Be Improved - The rope may not be as durable as the rest of the toy and could be chewed through quickly - The variety of colors may be exciting, but it would be nice to be able to choose the color option
Quick Verdict
The ChuckIt! Amphibious Bumper Fetch and Float Dog Toy is an excellent choice if you're looking for a water toy for your furry friend. It's perfect for water fetch and float activities, thanks to its lightweight memory foam bumper and knotted rope handle. The soft and durable construction ensures it can withstand rough play, though the rope may not be as durable as the rest of the toy. Overall, this is a fun and engaging toy that will provide hours of entertainment for your water-loving pup. Check it out on Amazon for more details.
Unboxing - What's Inside?
In my personal experience, I recently purchased the ChuckIt! Amphibious Bumper Fetch and Float Dog Toy from Amazon in the USA. I was really excited about this toy because I wanted to enhance my dog's playtime at the park. The delivery was surprisingly quick and I received the product within a week of placing the order! When I opened the box, I found the ChuckIt! Amphibious Bumper Fetch and Float Dog Toy in medium size. The color of the toy varied and I received a randomly selected color. I have been reacquainting Matilda with the magic of Chuckits now that it's too cold for Benton to want to be a ceaseless buzzkill. She brings me her terrible hollow rubber ball, I throw, we're off to the races.
I've been throwing from my deck, where I like to sit out in the evenings and chatter. Matilda has been very clear that she intended to catch these things from the get go, so she'll see me reach for the toy and leap from the deck to get there in time.
She keeps intercepting the ball. I try to throw the ball away from her and she dives for it. I actively try to avoid her and there she is. I try waiting for her or throwing the ball in front of her and she's trying to be right there. @kawuli successfully completely avoids hitting her with the ball and is immediately fired in disgust. She watches the trajectory carefully: wham! the rubber ball ricochets away.
As far as I can tell she finds getting occasionally hit by them a pleasant part of the experience.

Birthday Retreat, Part 1 (t.b.)
Tumblr media
when you decided to go on a quiet getaway for your birthday, you get more than you bargained for when you realize the airbnb hosts have a hot young nephew living on the farm with them.
PSA: i gave the character a name. Usually I will try to use “babe” and “petal” but since there were introductions in this, I did use a name. Also I did a lot of horse research. ALSO this is a three part series, so stay tuned :)
July 15th, Monday
Getting away from the hustle of your everyday life was the one thing you wanted for your birthday. You just wanted a place that was quiet, and where you could just enjoy time with yourself, some much needed rest and relaxation. You looked and looked on airbnb before finally settling on a guesthouse on a farm. The reviews were great, the pictures looked amazing, and the whole stay was less than $300, you just couldn’t pass up the deal.
You parked outside the guesthouse, getting out of your car and looking around at your home for the next few days. After dreaming of a trip like this, you were finally doing it, and you were finally going to have some time to yourself. You had to check yourself in with the smart lock, so after grabbing your bag from the trunk, you headed to the door and managed to get in without any trouble. As you stepped into the guesthouse, it’s like your mind just rebooted, and everything was clear. The home had a cozy vibe, and the energy was just so clean and happy. You could definitely get used to this.
Upon walking further into the house, you noticed a binder on the kitchen table that was labeled “rules and resources”, and made a mental note to take a look at it later. Right now you just wanted to get your stuff into the bedroom so you could get a look at the property, you saw on the listing that they had animals on the property, and you were so excited to meet them all. You climbed the steep stairs up to the bedroom, stepping right into the bedroom once you reached the top. It was even prettier and cozier in person. You set your duffel bag down before kicking off your flip flops and falling onto the bed. Your own quiet escape, finally. You must have really needed it, because you could already feel your eyes getting heavy as you dropped your phone on the bed and curled up for a quick nap.
two hours later
When you first opened your eyes, a small pang of panic went through you, but then you remembered where you were and took a breath. You yawned, feeling for your phone, and picking it up once you found it to check the time. 5:04pm. You had slept for two hours, and you were already feeling so refreshed. Standing up from the bed and stretching, you glanced over at the window and walked over, looking out at the view in front of you. You saw two dogs running around in the yard, chasing a ball that was flying through the air, and when you looked over to see who was throwing it, you froze. A tall man, who looked to be about your age (from a distance at least), was throwing tennis balls with a Chuckit, laughing as the dogs chased after them.
Immediately you wanted to know who this was. He had to have lived in the main house, or was here visiting family, but either way, you were officially on a mission. You smoothed out your post nap hair then slipped on your flip flops, heading down the stairs. You had a funny feeling in your stomach, like you were excited but also a little bit nervous. What if he wanted to be left alone? That thought made you stop just before you opened the door to go outside. You thought for a moment, then shook your head. If he didn’t wanna talk, he’d probably just say it, he IS an adult. With that, you stepped outside, smiling as you walked towards him. He didn’t look over until you were closer, and you could feel your cheeks heating up as your eyes met. You took a breath, then gave a small wave. “Hi. I’m staying in the guesthouse for a few days, um, I saw you out here playing with the dogs, and I just wanted to say hi. I’m Amelia.”
He gave you a warm smile, chucking a ball for the dogs again, then setting down the Chuckit. “Well that’s very kind of you, Amelia. My name’s Tom.” He extended your hand, smiling at how soft your skin was when you shook it. “I live in the main house with my aunt and uncle, and help them run the farm.” You smiled when he told you that he actually lived here. The listing mentioned a third family member, but you certainly were not expecting an attractive young man. He smiled as you as your hands separated, running his hand through his hair. “So, what brought you out here?”
“Oh, tomorrow is actually my 26th birthday, and I just needed some time away from my day to day life, y’know? I just wanted to go somewhere quiet and this place just drew me in so easily, I knew it was the one, I already feel so refreshed.” It was true, there was just something about this place that had a pure vibe, and it truly felt like a safe place.
“Ah, well happy early birthday! I’m glad you decided to spend it here.” He smiled, looking around. “Yeah, there’s just something about this place, I agree. My aunt and uncle are pretty amazing hosts, I’ve only lived here two years, but it feels like way longer.” He had to admit, with all the guests that came through, this was the first time he had seen a solo female traveler. “Here, why don’t I show you around the property, introduce you to some of our animals, if you’d like?”
You thought about it for a moment, then smiled with a nod. “Yes! That would be so great. Should we start with these two?” You nodded towards the two black and white border collies, one dropping the tennis ball by your feet.
“Ah, a perfect start. This is Gonzo, and the one that had the tennis ball is Fozzie.” He smiled, putting the ball in the Chuckit and holding it out towards you. “Would you like to do the honors?”
“Sounds like someone is a Muppets fan.” You laughed, taking the toy and using it to chuck the ball forward, smiling as you watched the dogs chase after it. “Tell me, was it you that named them?”
Tom laughed, shaking his head. “As much as I wish I could tell you yes, my aunt named them, she loves The Muppets. Hey, if you liked the dogs, I think you’ll love the horses.”
Your face lit up, ever since you read in the listing that there were horses here, that was one of the things you were looking forward to the most. You’ve never been in a real stable before, it would be your first time. “I think that would be great! Lead the way!”
As you walked to the stable, Tom told you more about the farm. Of course, there are always farm fresh eggs for sale, but he also told you that in the fridge, there’s also farm fresh eggs there for you to use, and you made a mental note to remember that for tomorrow. You had gone to the store before arriving, and you were thankful you didn’t get any cold stuff, because you had just set the grocery bags on the kitchen table, and didn’t put anything away. “They’re always a huge hit with the guests,” he said, “When we go through to check after they leave, the carton is always empty.”
“Well I'll definitely be giving them a try, then.” You smiled at him as he opened the stable door, leading you inside. Looking around, you smiled at the horses, there were three in total. One was all white, fucking gorgeous. Another had a beautiful mahogany colored coat, along with a black mane. The last one was a chestnut color, with its mane matching. They were all so beautiful, you were taken aback a bit. “Woah, these are all so gorgeous.”
He smiled, walking ahead of you a bit to the white horse. “They’re so sweet, too. Have you ever ridden a horse?” He asked, turning back towards you.
You shook your head no, glancing at the horses. “I haven’t, but as much as I’d like to try to ride one, I doubt it’s a good idea in flip flops.” You said, looking down at your pink flip flops from Old Navy.
“Ah, you’re right with that one. Here, step closer.”
You took a step closer to the chestnut colored horse, smiling at Tom.
“Is it okay if I guide your hand?”
Your stomach jumped a bit, and you nodded. You loved how he asked permission to touch you. You felt his hand gently take yours, and you watched as he guided it to the horse's neck, not yet touching it.
“Hey, Daisy. You have a visitor, sweet girl.” With that, he gently placed your hand on her neck, guiding it in a gentle petting motion.
Your smile was glued to your face, and you were smiling so much that your cheeks began to ache a bit. He had talked to the horse before making contact so he wouldn’t scare her. He had known everything about these horses, and the fact that he was so gentle with them since he knew that there was a stranger with him showed just how much he loved them.
“What are the other two’s names?” You asked, glancing over at them.
“Well, the white one’s name is Diamond, because she shines in the sun, and the one with the mahogany coat, her name is Persia, because I was watching Prince Of Persia when my uncle brought her home.” He smiled at you as you giggled at the reasoning for the last name.
“That’s cute, I love it.” You smiled, your eyes locking with Tom’s. For a minute, it felt like there weren’t even any horses in the stable, just the two of you. However, you looked away as you stifled a yawn. You looked back at him, a small smile on your face. Even with your nap, you were still tired. “Sorry, I’m still kind of tired from the drive, can you walk me back to the guest house?”
“Oh yeah, of course. How long was the drive?” He gently released your hand, guiding you out of the stable.
“About two and a half hours, but I was up early this morning to get everything situated, plus I had to stop at the store as well. I think I just need some good rest, is all.”
He glanced back at you, smiling. “Oh yeah, gotta be rested for your big day tomorrow. Anything exciting planned?”
“Lounge by the pool, and enjoy the peace away from my day to day life. When people asked me what I wanted for my birthday, that’s exactly what I told them.” When you told your friends your plan, they were more than supportive and some of them even Venmo-ed you to help cover the costs of the trip.
“Sounds like the perfect day. Well hey, I’ll be around, so if you need anything, don’t hesitate to come find me. Allow me to be your personal concierge.” He said, doing a small bow once you both reached the guest house.
You laughed at the bow, but somehow could not ignore the butterflies swarming through you. “That’s very sweet of you, Tom. I really do appreciate it.” You walked up the steps to the front door, turning back and smiling at him. “Thank you for showing me the horses, it was a really cool experience and I’m glad I had someone to share it with.”
He smiled, a faint blush creeping onto his cheeks. “It was no problem, Amelia. You get some rest, I’ll see you tomorrow, yeah?”
“Yeah, absolutely.’ You waved, smiling as he headed back to the house. Quickly, you opened the door, walking inside and shutting it behind you. You walked over to the couch, and fell on it with a huge smile on your face.
You were excited for your birthday before, but now, it couldn’t arrive any quicker.

we did train every day last week i just did not remember to post about it. so we continue on this.
anyway shoutout to k'seil's friday:
40 min walk with hazard where she was largely problem-less
sat in car quietly for an hour while i worked with a client
then met the human half of the client with FOUR FEET ON THE GROUND U GO BABY
took her to work on the impression that she would be in the car for 2 hrs while i ran puppy play and nosework class, so ran her stupid in the field with a chuckit and some work on cues for 20 min
THEN one of the puppies cancelled so she subbed in and let a 17 week parson russell beat her up for 30 min
then my nosework students bullied me into running her as well
so she did 2 runs of 3 searches each, on birch--not first time on the odor but first time in that room, and because all of the students in that class are reasonably advanced, in a complicated search area as well, where i was demoing handling skills and so expressly not supporting her--and fucking nailed them all
and THEN she came home and passed the fuck out

Hi!!! ♥️
I've been bingeing all your shifter/hybrid stuff again for the last couple days and I had a shifter au idea while playing fetch with my aunt's german shepherd! (He likes to run and they have a chuckit! so they can launch the ball for him but when he gets the ball he chews on it for a bit before dropping it (and he doesn't always drop it near you) which gave me this idea)
(to me this goes better with Soap/Gaz cause they're younger and would still have the play instincts like my aunt's gsd does but have fun with this if you want 😁)
So reader could just be lounging or something (just minding their own business 😂) and one of the boys comes up with the fetch ball in their mouth wanting to play and run for a bit (maybe they have to paw at the reader to catch their attention or reader could be a little reluctant to play fetch with a shifter cause doesn't that feel a little demeaning to be treated like a pet or a normal dog???), it takes a few tries to get a good angle for a really good, far throw so the boys can get a good running speed to chase after the ball and it takes a bit for reader to actually notice that they don't always bring the ball back right away (maybe they play keep away the first couple times and reader chases after them 😂), eventually they work out a system - the boys chew on the ball as they walk back towards the reader, who waits until they're really close before asking them to drop the ball so they can throw it again, a couple more chews and they drop it at reader's feet so the whole process repeats itself.
Wow that ended up kinda long! Sorry!! I love your shifter au writing so much!! -🍄
(has anyone used the mushroom emoji before?? If not, can I claim it?)
Hiiiii!! Oh you're so sweet!
Nobody has claimed the 🍄 emoji so it is now yours!
I think you're absolutely right that this works better with Soap or Gaz, they're definitely more playful.
Okay so I can totally see this. They just want to run, get rid of some energy, and playing fetch is a fun way to do it and involve someone else in the fun. (Especially if they can taunt you into playing chase a few times too.) They honestly enjoy it, and of course it helps that you can communicate with them.
Fully edpect to have a panting lump of fur across your feet when he's done, though.
A few days later he brings you a ball launcher with a grin, because by doing it once you have volunteered yourself to do it again. And again. Any time he needs the excuse to run off some energy and make you laugh. And he absolutely would make you laugh, doing silly things like prance back to you or dramatically throw himself in front of you.
Price just sighs and shakes his head, muttering about pups.
