Synesthete problem:
When you have to explain to your friends that you (and incidentally everyone else) can't wear yellow on a Friday because Fridays are red days and yellow is a Tuesday color.

Now that you mention it, yeah that's true for me too.
Question for other grapheme color synesthetes
So I鈥檝e noticed that my colors are a lot less strong when the letters/numbers are on a screen as opposed to written down on a physical piece of paper and I wanted to know if that鈥檚 just me or it鈥檚 a common thing?

Melissa McCracken is an artist with chromesthesia (sound-color synesthesia), who paints what she sees when she listens to music. Her stuff is pretty cool, I鈥檇 buy it if I had money (I used one of her paintings as my heading). her personal website is here, and more info about her and her work can be found here and here聽

Synesthesia
Here are some definitions of synesthesia:
a sensation produced in one modality when a stimulus is applied to another modality (Dictionary.com)
a perceptual phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway (Wikipedia)
a condition that happens when a sense, such as sight, triggers another sense, like smell, at the same time (a condition that happens when a sense, such as sight, triggers another sense, like smell, at the same time (Vocabulary.com)
a concomitant sensation; especially: a subjective sensation or image of a sense (as of color) other than the one (as of sound) being stimulated (Merriam Webster)
a neurological phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway (Psychology Today)
Basically, when I hear sounds I also see colors, when my mom sees colors she also tastes things, stuff like that. Its basically just two or more senses getting mixed up with each other.

It still blows my mind that there are people who don't see colors every time they hear sounds. Like, how do they enjoy music? What is it like? I honestly think I cried when I found out that that my friends couldn't see sounds. I can't imagine what it's like to not have synesthesia. The world must be so boring for those people.

I haven't seen it, but this is the best recommendation for it that I've heard.
sidenote:
The Quiet Place is such a movie for synesthesia
sounds are emphasized, and it forces the viewer to pay attention to all of the noises. i found it setting off audio-color and audio-tactile much more than most movies
