Bam bing bong, summary of my doodles in 2024

#what a year #ive never compiled it neatly before #i was gonna wait it out cuz i havent finish my Christmas pieces yet but im also like ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh fuck it so yeah hehe #this year I’ve expanded my socials to bluesky and instagram #I’ve always did two collabs this year which is still wild to me (im planning to do more next year hopefully)#(if my social anxiety can just get over it)#in tappy’s voice: gomz no balls #i also need to do more color piece #launching ☕️ this year has helped to do that #to do at least one colored piece each month #i have a video of me going thru my doodles from January to December in the works but i think i might not able to finish it on time #we’ll see #still gotto tackle the last few ☕️ requests after con #this year I’ve drawn a lot more Price!! that’s why he’s the main character this year #i would put Raven but she’s always a main so #im really happy to have found a nice chibi style and stick with it #consistency is always a struggle for me esp with my non chibi style #some of what i drew this year was awful HDJSHSHS but its nice seeing progress #December suit Price is my proudest non-chibi work and I wish to continue that style next year #moving forward I want to continue to improve and do better but also take it easy #burnt myself out too many times this year due to drawing nearly every day + stress + uni #stress management plan is needed but i SUCK at it #me as a pharmacy student counselling patients [it is important to try to relax and manage stress properly]#what a joke JDJDHDHHD #at least my blood pressure readings stabilized finally on gawd it was on the borders for a few months #it’s been a fun year and I’ve made a lot of new friends too #drabbled in a few fandom and community here and there #thank you for having me everyone :)#gummmyart #art summary 2024

every day i wish that Rats SMP was a cartoon bc it would make the greatest show ever i think

#I've been watching Arietty and the Rescuers a lot lately;;;;;;;;;;;#i just think it would make the cutest fucking cartoon with the funniest plotlines #it would be so perfect #with the ensemble cast you can swap out characters as much as you need/want to #the different animals breaking into the house later in the series would make a fucking BANGER season 2 #(like can you fucking imagine. season 2 pilot. theres a BADGER IN THE HOUSE NOW?)#they've even got a halloween special AND christmas special episode it's PERFECT #the whole first season could cover the rats getting used to the house and getting settled in #maybe the season 1 finale is the mum and others coming home #I would absolutely fucking want Owen to be played by David Tennant bc his tenth doctor voice gives me rat owen vibes #rats smp cartoon would be so so so good #cannot fucking WAIT for Rats In Paris #i have a whole scene in my head of like. that episode where Jimmy gets locked in a room all night and is miserable abt it 😭#where he's trapped in the room with the son and the boy is just chasing him around the room for hours #set to the song A Haunted House! from the totoro soundtrack #trying to catch jimmy in a little bug net #there's also this whole wild chase scene in my head with one of the cats chasing Owen Martyn and Scott and the janitor gets involved as well #set to Cat Chase from the Suzume soundtrack #i actually have a whole spotify playlist titled Rats SMP But As A Wholesome Kids Cartoon it has so many ghibli movie songs #(willing to share if anyone is curious i love sharing playlists)#i fucking LOVE imagining Hey Let's Go from the totoro opening credits as a Mitchiri-Neko style marching rats credits sequence #with each verse more characters join the march until all the animal guests and humans are there too #Do the Impossible from Chicory would make such a fucking cute anime style opening showing little clips of all the chaos of the house #i love this idea so goddamn much i fucking wish i could animate ;-;#i would infodump about this idea for hours if i had infinite tag space but alas. maximum of 30

I absolutely LOVE the Squirtle/Wartortle illustrations by kantaro in Pokemon 151!

The Squirtle jumping so joyfully from the rock into the ocean, the colors are STUNNING! I love the contrast of the Squirtle's aqua blue framed in the vivid orange sky, the soft bit of blue reflecting in its shell and its tail just catching the sun, how little and squishy its body looks as it launches itself towards the water with such tremendous excitement!

The lineless style of the background gives me the feel of a travel poster and I sense the tropical environment around it from the rocks and trees framing the corners, the waterfall splashing with as much energy as the Squirtle!

The layered blues on the surface of the water and the bubbles rising at the corner make me FEEL the liquid rising to meet the Squirtle--I can just feel how the next moment it's going to break through and be immersed in a cool island swim!

And the Wartortle running along the sunset beach, this is somehow everything I always imagined for Wartortle! I adore the way the rich purple melts into the warm red/orange sky, the matching purple clouds and shadows in the foreground, and how the dimming sunlight glows red on Wartortle's deep blues!

I love how the yellow and orange of the sky illuminate the lapping waves, I can just feel the gentle motion of the sea at dusk. The aqua color of the ocean matches Wartortle's ears and tail and sets off the red-orange sand, I just love how the colors are here!

Wartortle looks so round and squishy, I love its happiness as it goes frolicking through the shallows, chasing the bubbles caught in the setting sun! The shine and deep shadow on its shell give it an almost jewel texture like real tortoise shell; I love the silhouetted splash Wartortle leaves as it goes running across the shore. It's so full of energy and delight at the end of a gorgeous day! The colors in these are SO vivid and harmonized and the style is so cute and bursting with energy and joy. I just LOVE it (also Squirtle is my starter)

#pokemon #pokemon tcg #long post #i have deep affection for bulbasaur as well though and i also love the bulbasaur/ivysaur cards in this set #i SO wish we'd gotten art of the final evolutions in the same style as the pre-evos' standard cards!!#(yes i do love the full art ones but i also love the illustrations on the standard cards!)#from the way the settings in these two were going; i would have imagined blastoise to be set at night (??)#i LOVE pokemon cards. i can't keep up with every set but i started collecting again now and then a few years ago #and 151 has really got me wanting the full set the way i haven't since childhood. SO many beautiful illustrations (but there always are)#it's like having little pieces of art of my favorite characters and it's only.. slightly... less expensive than actually commissioning ....#i KNOW it's less expensive to buy the individuals online but it's so much less fun #part of the fun is having YOUR own pokemon journey ((going to the store)) and seeing what YOU encounter ((when you open the pack))#i do buy them online sometimes but i usually dont form as strong associations with them as when i open a pack in a certain setting or place #i tend to try to save them to open right before a significant event like starting something new or a holiday. so that i form associations #and it's like 'oh that's the galarian obstagoon from when my mom came home for christmas'#and 'that's the snorlax who reassured me when i was hurt'#i don't buy them too often so i've got to make it count #anyway i know i should wait for the prices on this one to come down because it's absolutely ridiculous #i didn't buy anything at release because i was like $6 for one booster pack??? but i couldn't take just sitting and watching them sell out #i really like the poster because i can look at so many beautiful pictures all together #i could say stuff like this about literally every pokemon illustration (if i had time to write it out) and sometimes i've wanted to #i just chose these two because these are a couple of my original favorite pokemon and i just couldn't keep it to myself. i LOVE these

Flame Emperor: Oh really? Then what were you doing by the tea cart earlier?

Student: I use the wooden stirrers to push back my cuticles. Everyone knows I prefer teatimes with- Nevermind...

Christmas: Ok, ok! Let's not fight. I broke it. Let me pay for it, Hegie.

Hegie: No! Who broke it?

Brave, looking suspiciously at Legendary Edelgard: Hegie... Legend's been pretty quiet lately.

Legend: Really?

*fight breaks out*

Hegie, aside: I broke it. It burned my hand so I punched it. I predict ten minutes from now they'll be at each other's throats with war paint on their faces and a pig head on a stick.

*looks back at the chaos, turns around with a grin*

Hegie: Good. It was getting a little chummy around here.

I'm stuck listening to Christmas music, and am in sort of a Christmasy mood anyway, so WIP I've had in for a little while now.

Idea is that Peach will see a doll, and have the overwhelming desire to dress it up. (Who doesn't?) So her victim is Geno. She put together a wintery, Christmasy outfit for Geno, asked him to try it on, and then took a picture of him for holiday cards. Geno, embarrassed but grateful for the new outfit, politely posed for her.

Now I just gotta finish the sketch, ink it in, and come up with a color scheme. Kinda want to stick with blue.
