Found a picture of my sister and I on Halloween from nineteen years ago. We're dressed up to go trick-or-treating, both wearing cheap costumes from some local party supply store, caught in the middle of some awkward facial expressions by my mom's digital camera

I haven't seen my sister in person since before the pandemic, but we talk on Discord. We both dressed up to go to work today, both in slightly nicer costume pieces, still making awkward faces at the camera when we traded pictures, and I dunno, it was kinda nice to think about

Over 700 miles apart and we're both wearing impractical shoes and silly things on our heads, still kinda connected by the little ways we find joy in the day

December 13, 2019 (Ice Cream Day):

(Davis, in Scorpi's body, walks up to Chao, who's eating some ice cream that is currently on sale in the studio, since the heater is broken)

Davis: So, how are you holding up?

Chao: About the same as the last time something like this happened. You haven't gotten any ice cream yet.

Davis: Well, I tried to, but I couldn't figure out how to hold it properly.

Chao: I mean, you could've asked someone for help?

Davis: Chao, who do you think I am? A toddler?

Chao: I mean, Scorpi does look like-

Davis: That's not what I meant!

Chao: No, I'm pretty sure it is.

(TRANSITION)

(scene cuts to Wizwuz at the ice cream stand)

Wizwuz: Hmmmm, you have any purple ice cream?

Gobba (looking slightly frustrated): Let me guess, you wanna know if I "got any grapes"?

Wizwuz: ... No?

Gobba: Well, it's the only purple ice cream I've got, so take it or get out.

Wizwuz: Uh.... I'll take... 2 scoops, I guess...

(this week, the Mixels celebrated Ice Cream Day, in which we pretended that the heater was broken (similar to August 5, 2005 when the AC was broken) and made an ice cream stand for the evening)

(also, I revealed this week that in 2020, we would have a "new" intro (it was actually rather similar to another Fridays intro, but more on that in a later post))

(schedule-wise, this was the first of 2 weeks where Fridays aired Christmas specials)

(we also aired episode 15 of BFB as a "see-it first premiere" (however, the ending stinger was absent))

Ah yes the hatchetfieldening <3 I was there when the shift started n I watched the first nightmare time episode n black Friday but neither massively impressed me so I stopped 😔😔 I'm still mostly an older musicals girlie bcos of the nostalgia of watching them on loop at age 13 (except mamd ani and firebringer. 13yo me said fuck those ones) but deck the halls of northville high is a banger I still listen to on occasion

In 2018 I had the amazing idea to create a photo album as a cheap and easy last minute christmas gift for my parents.

Since I came up with this idea like two days before Christmas I couldn't order the photos online like a normal person would do, since they wouldn't be delivered in time, so I went to the drugstore and started printing out like 300 photos right then and there. On an afternoon, right after work. Two days before Christmas. When everyone and their mother probably had the same idea, usually just in much much smaller scale.

So I stood there, blocking one of the three photo machines in the store for I think at least 4 1/2 hours, much to the annoyance of the staff and every other customer who just wanted to print one or two fotographs to give to their grandparents or so. I finished printing like 10 minutes before the store closed.

As it turned out then, making a photo album was neither easy or cheap and I think I spend the next two days without any sleep while finishing up this thing.

My mother loved it so much that she's been requesting one every year since.
