The Warm-Up 3: Pro Wrestling GRIND “Masters Of Reality”- 4/28/2023
“The Human Monster Truck” Perry Von Vicious (7-7) vs. Bryce Donovan (0-0) Perry Last 3: Derek Neal d. Perry Von Vicious - Stiff Upper Lip - 3/24/2023 Perry Von Vicious d. Ryan Galeone - Overkill 2023 - 2/24/2023 Perry Von Vicious d. WARHORSE - All We Are - 12/31/2022 Bryce Last 3: Shook Crew d. Mane Event - Celebration Day - 10/28/2022 Rip & WARHORSE d. Shook Crew - Fear Of The Dark - 9/4/2022 Jay Freddie & The Saito Brothers d. Shook Crew & Dante Drago - Come & Get It - 5/27/2022 Just as Bobby Orlando vs Ryan Mooney will be a clash of speed kings, Bryce Donovan vs Perry Von Vicious is a test of all-rounded might.  Both stand at well over 6 feet and yet are not afraid to take to the skies or grit their teeth and slug it out.  Perry looks to avenge a Rip Byson singles loss to Bryce from Blitzkrieg Pro years back, while Bryce would make a thunderous statement in taking down a Day 1 GRINDer in his singles debut. Will Perry take his first step back towards Grand Championship contention?  Can Bryce topple the Human Monster Truck or will Perry roar to victory?! “Uptown” Andy Brown (2-2) vs. Griffin McCoy (0-0) Andy Last 3: Andy Brown d. Brandon Williams - Stiff Upper Lip - 3/24/2023 Andy Brown d. Danny Miles - Overkill 2023 - 2/24/2023 Perry Von Vicious d. Andy Brown - Sinister Urge - 12/2/2022 Rising stars in the tri-state area set for a first-time ever collision as the surging Andy Brown takes on the debuting Griffin McCoy.  Both west coast imports are well-rounded and battle-tested strikers that can shift phases by the second.  Can Big Griff capture the ever-elusive debut GRIND victory or will Andy Brown make it 3 in a row and possibly cement himself as the next GRIND Grand Championship contender? “God Queen” Delmi Exo (6-3) vs. “Courageous” Christina Marie (0-0) Delmi Last 3: B3CCA d. Delmi Exo - Stiff Upper Lip - 3/24/2023 Delmi Exo d. Jac St. Jean - Overkill 2023 - 2/24/2023 Emi Sakura d. Delmi Exo - All We Are - 12/31/2022 “The God Queen” Delmi Exo welcomes a new gladiatrix to the Emerald Ring in the form of the powerful “Courageous” Christina Marie.  Christina has competed all across the Northeast and is no stranger to high-pressure debuts, while Delmi looks to bounce back from a loss to International Pop Sensation B3CCA and rise to the top 5 of the GRIND Singles Rankings.  Will Christina succeed where so many other warriors have failed and notch a successful debut against the matriarch of GRIND?  Or will the Rise of the God Queen continue?! “The Goatest Of All Time” Bobby Orlando (0-0) vs. “Rabid” Ryan Mooney (6-4) Bobby Last 3:  Shook Crew d. Mane Event - Celebration Day - 10/28/2022 Rip & WARHORSE d. Shook Crew - Fear Of The Dark - 9/4/2022 Jay Freddie & The Saito Brothers d. Shook Crew & Dante Drago - Come & Get It - 5/27/2022 Mooney Last 3:  Ryan Mooney d. Ichiban - Overkill 2023 - 2/24/2023 Anthony Henry d. Ryan Mooney - All We Are - 12/31/2022 Jay Freddie d. Ryan Mooney - Electric Crown - 9/30/2022 Tri-state junior gods collide as one of the longest reigning singles champions in New England wrestling history in Bobby Orlando makes his singles debut against GRIND mainstay “The Rabid Honey Badger” Ryan Mooney!  Mooney came very close to tasting singles gold of his own in the Emerald 12, beating Alec Price and Rip Byson before falling to Jay Freddie in the semifinals, and looks to build on his recent victory over Ichiban.  Will the Shook Crew go 2 for 2 in singles debuts?  Is The GOATest Of All Time on the cusp of starting another legendary singles tear?! Or will Ryan Mooney make it two straight in his neverending quest to mark GRIND as Honey Badger Territory?! A-GAME/SKYROS II Moonlight Son” Mike Skyros (3-3) vs. “A-Game” Joseph Alexander (3-4) Skyros Last 3: Mike Skyros d. Ryan Clancy - Stiff Upper Lip - 3/24/2023 Mane Event d. Moonlight Hornets - Overkill 2023 - 2/24/2023 Mike Skyros d. JD Drake - All We Are - 12/31/2022 A-Game Last 3: Joseph Alexander d. Rip Byson - Stiff Upper Lip - 3/24/2023 Manders d. Joseph Alexander - Sinister Urge - 12/2/2022 Joseph Alexander d. Nolo Kitano - Celebration Day - 10/28/2022 Our first of two rematches on the evening is from July 2022 at “Doctor Doctor,” a night where Joseph Alexander captured his first victory at GRIND at the expense of the at-the-time also-winless Mike Skyros.  This time around, this is a Mike Skyros who has since found victory in 2 of his last 3 contests, and notably 3 of his last 3 singles contests.  A-Game has also been victorious in 2 of his last 3 contests, and now both combatants are on the cusp of Grand Championship contention.  Who walks out the winner in A-Game/Skyros II?! STRAP MATCH “Iron” Rip Byson (8-4-1) vs. “King’s Road Slayer” Derek Neal (1-0-1) Rip Last 3: Joseph Alexander d. Rip Byson - Stiff Upper Lip - 3/24/2023 Rip Byson d. ZPB - Overkill 2023 - 2/24/2023 Gary Jay d. Rip Byson - All We Are - 12/31/2022 Derek Last 2:  Derek Neal d. Perry Von Vicious - Stiff Upper Lip - 3/24/2023 Derek Neal nc. Rip Byson - Come & Get It - 5/27/2022 The two most decorated Strap Match participants going today lock horns with an endless amount of bad blood between them.  Just as Perry looks to avenge a Ripper loss to Bryce Donovan from Blitzkrieg Pro years ago, Ripper looks to avenge Perry’s loss to Derek Neal last time around at Stiff Upper Lip.  This only stokes the fire that started at Come & Get It nearly a year ago when the first singles bout between The King’s Road Slayer and Easthampton’s Iron Horse went to a no-contest after the referee attempted to assert some order and received a pair of fists for his trouble.  Who will survive what is certain to be one of the most ferocious battles in GRIND history?! GRIND GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP (V5) Anthony Henry (3-0) vs. “Blue Thunder” Jay Freddie (12-1) (c) Henry Last 3:  Anthony Henry d. Ryan Mooney - All We Are - 12/31/2022 Anthony Henry d. Alec Price - Celebration Day - 10/28/2022 Anthony Henry d. Travis Huckabee - Doctor Doctor - 7/1/2022 Freddie Last 3:  Jay Freddie d. Channing Thomas (V4) - Stiff Upper Lip - 3/24/2023 Jay Freddie d. Bryan Keith (V3) - Overkill 2023 - 2/24/2023 Jay Freddie d. O’Shay Edwards (V2) - All We Are - 12/31/2022 The time has come.  Champion and challenger have been on a collision course since Jay Freddie toppled Anthony Henry’s partner JD Drake at Overkill in January 2022.  And now the stakes are infinitely higher as the Grandest Prize in GRIND hangs in the balance.  The series is split between the two, Henry got the victory in their singles encounter at Limitless “Hysteria” while Freddie & John Silver defeated The Workhorsemen at “Only Fools Are Satisfied.”  But this will be the first time they’ve touched in over 5 years, and each are far better versions now of the wrestlers they were then.  Can Jay Freddie make a successful 5th defense on his 6 month anniversary as champion or will Anthony Henry cap off his 10 month journey to the top contender’s slot as the 2nd GRIND Grand Champion? See you Friday in Easthampton! - JT

My Birthday!!!
Today is the greatest day. It's my BIRTHDAY! I am 29 today. Originally I had planed a season review on my birthday but as I am nowhere close, here's some important characters that I love.

Beatrix Unsdatter, born in Denmark under the sign of Libra, parents migrated to Australia in the middle fifties.ĬERRIDWEN. Alice Audrey Farr, born Mosman, Sydney, New South Wales, on August 1, 1956.īEATRIX. This book is dedicated to those who helped me write it.ĪRACHNE. The I becomes an alphabet, the my becomes ours. Thus my ideas weigh with those of others. I absorbed it all with gratitude and worked with a discipline and strength I felt I owed them. Throughout the many drafts, I had readers, arguers, encouragers, critics and researchers who worked for the book, the idea, their own reasons, with implicit faith in my purpose to uncover a truth to tell the truth and not resort to a gossipy theft of their ideas and their lives. The merging of the diagrammatic and chaotic was a poem. It is dependent on inspiration, excitement, the tides of language and having the time. That was to ensure a symphonic and historic depth.
#HUNTING LESSON ROSE TAIPAN SERIES#
The first draft was a series of diagrams, and nouns. The daring to make a novel from geometry was possible in the rarified air of a ‘sinecure’. Christina Stead had given me two clues with her mention of maths and ‘no men in it at all’. ‘Everywoman’ was women the singular does not compute when one investigates the nature of the feminine.Ī worker, no longer a taxi-driver, now a writer with an office and a title, albeit for ten weeks, my job, then, was to put my theories into practice: a daunting project when it became clear to me what I had to do. It was necessary to get to know a mob of women, all searching for their own freedom. I could not squeeze this ‘everywoman’ out of my mind. Simply screening an accurate description of one’s life with a facade of false names and places was not satisfying to me either as a writer or a reader. Fiction is a literary composition wherein the writer creates above, below and around the real world. I was sick of sorry women, in my own and others’ stories, who were not in control of their own downfall.
#HUNTING LESSON ROSE TAIPAN FREE#
I had been hunting for an ‘everywoman’, the free archetypal female, to underlie a possible Hamlet, Peer Gynt, Candid of my gender. Since 1974 I have been developing theories of the feminine aesthetic in literature.
#HUNTING LESSON ROSE TAIPAN HOW TO#
Two or three years later, I was writer-in-residence at Monash University, wondering what and how to write, suffering the culture shock and absurdity of changing from ‘taxi-driver’ to ‘writer’. But she took me to lunch at Monash University, where she was writer-in-residence, and discussed the mathematical aspects of my first chaotic attempt at long fiction, Lots Of Potential. Perhaps Remember The Tarantella started with Christina Stead’s challenge to me: it’s very difficult to make an interesting novel with no men in it at all. Coming Soon ...
Tumblr media
June is another busy publishing month from what I can see and find interesting. Tomorrow, June 2nd, “The Vanishing Half” by Brit Bennett will be published. I had mixed feelings about her “The Mothers”, but this new novel sounded fascinating: the story of black twin sisters, estranged, one growing up in a black community, the other secretly passing for white. Also coming out tomorrow, “A Burning” by Megha Majumdar, a debut novel about modern India, its problems with class and religion, as well as the choice between what is right and what is easy. Another new release is “A Song Below Water” by Bethany C. Morrow, a YA novel about black sirens - need I say more? And last but not least for June 2nd, “The Second Home” by Christina Clancy, a novel about siblings, family and memories.
On June 9th, “You Exist Too Much” by Zaina Arafat will be published, a novel about LGBT-identity caught between the chosen home of the US and Middle Eastern cultural upbringing.
Tumblr media
June 23rd sees another longer list, starting with “Death at Her Hands” by Ottessa Moshfegh, a comedic mystery novel with an elderly lady at the forefront as an amature detective. Another new release I do not know much about is “The Order of the Pure Moon Reflected in Water” by Zen Cho, a heist novella with material arts and LGBT elements. Also being published on that day is “A Declaration of the Rights of Magicians” by H.G. Parry, which puts magical fantasy elements into a historical context, making the age of Enlightment a story of a magical revolution. And in similar spirit, “The Angel of the Crows” by Katherine Addison, about a alternate historical London where angels and other mystical creatures live next to humans, all threatened by Jack the Ripper.
And lastly, on June 30th, there is “Blue Ticket” by Sophie Mackintosh, a dystopian novel about motherhood and choice in a world where a lottery decides whether you can (must) bear children or can never have any.

❤️ 2, 8, 14, 15, 18, 20 ❤️
So many questions Jo! ❤️❤️
2. What’s next on your ‘to-read’ list? (Fan fiction or otherwise)
Ummm okay for published fiction I bought the kindle book of The Second Home by Christina Clancy forever ago and I’d like to actually read it.  Also Dare Me which I don’t have a good excuse for not reading except that it will probably make me want to binge the show again and then be sad it got canceled.
For fanfiction?  Ummmm okay so I actually haven’t read the latest update of A Rational Choice yet.  Wild I know but I was saving it as my reward to finish chapter two of political au and now I just still haven’t gotten around to it 😖(slash I keep re-reading chapters 4-6 instead).
8. Bed sharing or roommates AU?
Both
14. (For authors) Post a line of dialogue from one of your WIPs without context.
“For what it’s worth I am sorry.”
15. Post the last line you wrote without context.
It won’t make her feel better knowing.
18. Do you have a fic reading/writing routine?
I’ll basically read fic whenever and wherever - during work, out to lunch, at night.  I am the kind of person who has like fifteen tabs open on my phone and computer with different fics to bounce between at any time or mood.
I’ve been trying to get better about carving out a specific time to write fic.  I like writing at night right after I’ve gone for a long walk or run.  I feel like being outside, alone, with music or no music just helps me clear my head and I almost always think of different pieces of dialogue, etc. when I do this.  Sometimes just going for a drive helps too - basically I like taking a break from my computer before I write.
20. Do you have a favorite fanfic or author? If so, tag them/post a link and share the love!
Oh you know I actually don’t think I have a favorite fanfic exactly - I guess I’m more of a mood reader so my favorite is always changing.
That being said I will never not take the opportunity to talk about my love of @fairhairedkings and her fics.  I seriously don’t know how she does it and I’m forever in awe of her.
And a fic that I’m currently loving a lot and eagerly eagerly waiting an update is definitely Both Sides of the Law by @joeyjoeylee - highly recommend if you haven’t read this yet.  Amazing characterizations and story so far!

The Second Home by Christina Clancy
A debut novel set on Cape Cod that centers on a beloved family home and the summer that changed the lives of three siblings forever, perfect for readers of J. Courtney Sullivan and Elin Hilderbrand. After a disastrous summer spent at her family's summer home on Cape Cod, seventeen year old Ann Gordon is left harboring a secret that changes her life forever, and creates a rift between her sister, Poppy, and their adopted brother, Michael. Now, fifteen years later, her parents have died, and Ann and her sister Poppy are left to decide the fate of the old Wellfleet home that's been in the Gordon family for generations. While they both love the house, they decide to sell it and move forward. But then Michael re-enters their lives with a legitimate claim to a third of the estate. He wants the house. But more than that, he wants to set the record straight about that long ago summer. Reunited after years apart, these very different siblings are forced to decide if they can continue to be a family--and in the process, they'll discover that the house might be the glue that holds them together.
