God Our Protector

As Christians we recognize that living in a fallen world means that every time we leave the comfort of our homes, and the security of our time with God, we enter spaces and places that hold the potential for evil to occur. Cares, concerns and fear can easily fill and permeate our calendars as we flip the pages on another day in our lives.

Our battle plan is to recite scripture, and reclaim the promises of protection God has spoken over us, and that He invites us to speak over ourselves.

Not only does Psalm 91 say that God protects you from all trouble, but in and through trouble He promises to make you safe. The image of a mother bird covering her children and chicks is an image that not only this psalm uses of God, but Jesus uses when He comes into Jerusalem.

He says that He would have covered them like a mother hen covers over her chicks. If heat comes down on the chicks the mother takes the heat and protects them. If a predator comes to eat them, the mother fights for them.

Jesus took what you and I deserved for our sin, and kept us safe. As a result, if He will do this for our sin, how much more will He help us find refuge in our circumstances? If God's hand is on you, then your situation is handled and in His hands!
