Hiiiiii! So Long, London and Florida!!! for the ask game (going with a travel theme)
So Long, London - What city would you love to visit that you haven't before?
Athens because my dad lives there for a few years as a child! Or the tiny hamlet (in Holland) my mom's side of the family lived in before my great (great?) grandfather immigrated
Florida!!! - Tell me about your dream vacation.
I want to go back to NZ so badly. I'd go for a month and do some hiking, revisit hobbiton, go to the hot springs, explore christchuch and wellington, and spend some beach time. Would also bounce to Tasmania

Cardboard cathedral is allowed to stay after rush to secure consent
Cardboard cathedral is allowed to stay after rush to secure consent
Christchurch’s cardboard cathedral has become a permanent fixture for the city after the Anglican church was granted last-minute permission to keep the building. The $5.3 million Transitional Cathedral was built in 2012 and 2013 under emergency legislation as a temporary replacement for the earthquake-wrecked Christ Church Cathedral. That legislation allowed consents lasting until June 30 this…

ASDFGHJKL there was another new zealand ‘geography’ question in the latest trivial pursuit, and jeremy pronounced dunedin like “doon-din” (as opposed to “duhn-ee-din”) and it both pains and pleases me 😂

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CHEAP FOOD... #maatschappij #participatie #samenleving #samenwerken #toekomst #eten #voeding #geestelijkegezondheid #dieet #ADH https://instagr.am/p/CN1oOJLBZhG/

I visited Christchuch once; I went to New Zealand for two weeks and had a dinky little car that took me all over the North and South Islands, though mostly I lingered in the South, driving aimlessly for the most part. This was in the heady days before GPS or smartphones so it was me and a map and a cassette (remember those, kiddos?) of Norah Jones, wandering around.
I almost skipped Christchurch; there wasn’t much in the guidebook about it, nothing particularly noteworthy. And in truth I can’t remember very much about the city itself; a few nice stone buildings, a particular street that I can clearly visualize in my head but have no idea what its name is, that’s about it.
In fact, I’ve almost forgotten stopping to get some gas and (even though I’d already done it before) not quite understanding how the process should work there. And a very cheerful couple filling up next to me helped me out and joked about how I had definitely taken a wrong turn somewhere to end up in New Zealand, of all places!
But last night I remembered them; the woman’s bright blue hijab causing her some problems in the wind, the way neither of our accents were like the ones around us. I don’t know their names and I’ll never know if they’re all right; but I suspect they aren’t.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is urging people to remember the names of those who have fallen, and never utter the name of the person who killed them. She spoke powerful words as she led the condolences for the Christchurch terrorist attack victims in Parliament today. Jacinda Ardern has shown compassion & she deserves total respect for the way she has dealt with the aftermath of the attacks. Jacinda Ardern is a true leader 👌 #NewZealandShooting #nzshooting #newzealand #ChristChurchMosqueAttack #Christchuch https://www.instagram.com/p/BvOQx_bnOsU/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1l1gthlelz8sl

Every month we complete a fire and building protection check for the Bruce Waterfront Apartments. This means that our guests can feel safe and secure while in the complex. Our building warrant of fitness is up-to date, our fire alarm systems show no defects and our stairs are free of any trips or slips. #akaroa #akaroanz #building #maintenance #renovations #FFP #buildingsafety ##fireprotection #security #alarmsystem #christchuch (at Tresori Motor Lodge) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEndfv-gX2b/?igshid=1aw4dbhjteg5w
