pretty much nothing! It was a rough reading week! The first part of the week I was fairly consumed with the D20 I was watching & not reading much. Then I spent FIVE DAYS reading a little over half of a 258K fic before finally accepting that though it was pretty well written and not bad, I just wasn't into it and the thought of fighting thru another 120K was appalling, so I bailed.

WELCOME TO LIMELIGHT LLC. - we are so excited to have you all here and, i'll say it until i'm blue in the face but, thank you to everyone for all of the patience in the last 24 hours. we created stuff for this group within the last week expecting it to be small, take a while to get off the ground, etc. so thank you, thank you for everything to help things get started smoothly for us all. i have a lot of stuff i want to cover below the cut before we get into the follow list with everything going on and the amount of people we have here.

We want to make sure all of you have an updated copy of our trigger tags and a link to our rules available on this post so please see the links to get familiar with them. It ties directly into our expectations for this group and goals with being in charge of a creative space.

We know the last 48 hours have been absolutely wild in the community and this place is where we really just want to create a space for writers to write, people to make silly posts, and just have fun. We know there's a lot of us here and we won't get along with or agree with every person we talk to. That's okay - we just need people to be civil and give everyone the basic respect they deserve as we are all people behind our screens.

Our expectations for everyone boil down to treating each other with respect - on the dash, on chats, and across the board. If you have any issues with another writer, you will always have our permission to unfollow them or block them if needed. You do not have to ask us permission because this is supposed to be a stress free space for creative minds to write and relax. Please just let us know if you do block someone so we can keep tabs on things and help you guys out.

If an issue arises with another writer, do not bring it to the dash or start spreading it amongst writers - please come to us directly. We are here to help. In order for us to proceed with unbiased and well rounded decisions, it is encouraged that we get screenshots or whatever information we can to get all sides of the story so we know how to proceed. We do not want to make any unfair decisions for any of you guys.

All of us mods have been in the community for a while (most of that spent not modding but we want to give it a shot!). We've seen groups come and go, we've seen the things in real time that unravel a group, and we really do just want a calm, stress-free space for people to relax. We don't need to add stress to anyone's lives over a fun hobby. With that being said, if any issues come up at any point, message us directly on chats @ limelightmods@gmail.com for the quickest response. Any OOC drama getting out of hand will be dealt with accordingly to keep this space welcoming. We're really excited to have you all and I'll pack it up but thank you again for everyone being really helpful, patient, and such through all of this chaos.

This is a limited crossover series I'm now considering.

The final part of the multi-part article by Pitchfork - an inDepth look/review of Dirt Apart from the band’s self-titled third LP—which also debuted at the top of the album chart in 1995—Staley’s last recordings were subdued affairs. He provided lead vocals on Above, the underrated, jazz-inflected LP from the Mad Season “supergroup,” and displayed his increasingly frail appearance on the band’s MTV Unplugged set the next year. The band decided not to tour for the self-titled album, and after their fourth show opening for Kiss in 1996, Staley was hospitalized for an overdose (after Kemper Arena performance 7/3/96) . Soon after, his longtime girlfriend died of complications from her own drug abuse. The band went on indefinite hiatus, and Staley disappeared. While Dirt was solidifying itself as a modern rock standard, a crop of lesser Alice-influenced bands were rising up the charts, and “heroin chic” was falling out of fashion. (For several reasons, I removed 2 paragraphs from this last segment). When he was 18, Staley, like so many other aspiring rock stars, wanted the freedom to write about what he wanted, how he wanted. As his fame increased, and his addiction and isolation deepened, he started using his music to shock, but also to build a bridge into his world. Dog Day Afternoon (Sidney Lumet, 1975)

Dog Day Afternoon is a tragicomic docudrama about an ill-advised, ill-planned bank robbery that went wrong in almost all ways imaginable. It gave Al Pacino one of his most entertainingly flamboyant roles as Sonny Wortzik, who wants the money to pay for his lover's sex reassignment surgery. In its day, this motive might have been played more for laughs than it would be today, but Chris Sarandon's performance as Leon, who wants to transition to female, brought a measure of sympathy to the character that it might otherwise have lacked. The film is, like so many of director Sidney Lumet's, notable not only for standout performances like Pacino's and Sarandon's, but also for its exceptional ensemble work among the hostages in the bank and the cops outside, a result of Lumet's going beyond the screenplay (which won an Oscar for Frank Pierson) to workshop dialogue and business among the groups, playing up the emerging Stockholm Syndrome of the hostages and the itchiness of the impatient cops.
