A Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader Series
Summary : Six people who claimed to be from another universe arrived at the Avengers Tower out of nowhere. The fact that the group of people—NOVA—are essentially Avengers clones only serves to further complicate matters. The only unmistakable distinction between them is that they are of opposing sexes. How will things play out for the two groups of superhumans?

"Is this it?" A red headed male asked, looking around the unfamiliar yet familiar building in front of them. Nathaniel.
"If the smarties' calculations are correct, then supposedly, we are where we need to be." The youngest member of the team replied with a small sigh. Stephanie.
"Of course it's right, it's us. When are we ever wrong?" The richest member of the team snarked back, making sure to add a sassy eye roll. Antoinette.
"When you said everyone in our team is straight." The archer responded in a tone so flat that you could mistake it for a serious statement. Clarissa.
A chuckle erupted from the quietest member of the team. "She got you good this time." Brielle.
"Bite back, Ms. Snarky." The group's ray of sunshine egged on, wanting to see drama unfolding in front of her very eyes again. Theodora.
"You guys will seriously argue any chance you get, huh?" A white haired female said with annoyance. Everyone immediately stopped talking as if it was their mom scolding them. Y/n.
"Six people are exiting the building. Two on your right, Steph. Two on your left, Brie. And two directly in front of us." Everyone immediately went into full alert mode, ready to fight if necessary.
Just like you said, six people came out of the building. Surprise was immediately shown on the Avengers faces when they saw the six people standing outside the building.
Steve Rogers, Captain America, was the first to speak up. "Who are you?"
"Luke, I am your father." Antoinette said seriously, making direct eye contact with the super soldier.
"Luke? My name isn't Luke." Steve furrowed his brows in confusion as the group of strangers infront of them tries to stifle a chuckle.
"Idiot, it's 'No, I am your father.'" The archer of the younger team would never pass on an opportunity to piss the young billionaire off.
"No? He says 'Luke', you dumb bitch, not 'No'." Y/n let out a loud sigh once those words left Antoinette's mouth, knowing this will lead to a long fight again.
Thankfully, she wasn't the only one who didn't want to go through the banter between the two girls.
"We're you, from a different reality." Steph answered seriously and truthfully, stepping forward to hide the two girls arguing and ignoring the confused looks on the heroes faces.
Silence immediately enveloped them, the avengers trying to study the unfamiliar faces infront of them. You decided to break the silence, knowing that you all didn't have time for staring contests.
"I believe it's best if we speak about this matter inside." You said with a friendly smile, revealing your dimples on both cheeks. Your london accent also surprised everyone, but no one chose to comment on it.
"And how can we trust that you won't try to kill us?" Steve asked, stepping forward to try and intimidate the group.
"Cuff us then." A chorus of disbelieving 'what?!'s could be heard from the younger group. A raise of your right hand, however, was able to silence them.
That didn't stop the quiet cursing and swearing from your group however.
"So you're saying that, you're us, from a different universe?" Tony asked with furrowed brows. They were in the avengers meeting room, the younger heroes all had cuffs on their hands, much to their displeasure.
"Yeah. I'm you," Annie said as she pointed at Tony. "from another reality, wherein you're a gal."
"Wait, wait, wait. So what are your names then?" Clint asked reluctantly, crossing his arms as he stared at the cuffed heroes.
The Vigilantes all looked at you first, seemingly asking for approval from their 'leader' before revealing important information. When you nodded, Clint's counterpart broke the silence.
"I'm Clarissa Francesca Barton, they call me Claire. I'm you, Hawkeye."
"Stephanie Grace Rogers, Steph." Steve raised his brows in surprise at his supposed female counterpart.
"Roxanne Brielle Banner. Guess you can call me Brie." Bruce nodded at his counterpart who just raised a brow at him in response.
"I'm Theodora Odinson, you can call me Thea. Hi, Thor." Thor waved at the girl who smiled at him in return.
Everyone then looked at Annie, who raised a brow at them once she noticed their gaze. "What? I wanna go last."
She sighed before rolling her eyes. "The name's Antoinette Edelle Stark. It's Annie for short, not Toni, not Nette, not anything else."
Tony smiled in triumph when he confirmed that he looks good in every universe, despite being the opposite gender.
"I'm Nate." The only boy in the team said flatly, earning a huff of annoyance from you.
"He's Nathaniel Alister Romanoff." You finished for him, ignoring the look of betrayal on his face.
"I'm Y/n Dawn Maximoff, according to our research, I'm Pietro Django Maximoff. I also have a twin," Your eyes shifted to Wanda, a look of understanding flashed in both their eyes. "His name was Walker Marco Maximoff."
"Wait— I appreciate knowing your names, but that doesn't prove anything, much more being from another universe." Steve asked, still cautious against them.
You sighed in annoyance, you didn't appreciate being asked multiple questions, especially again and again.
You stared at the keys of the handcuffs on the table away from you. You frowned and shifted your gaze to the cuffs on your hand, and suddenly it disappeared.
The avengers looked at you in shock, immediately going into a fighting position when you stood up. You raised your hands in the air to show you weren't doing anything fishy.
"Care to help us here, Y/N/N?" Annie said sarcastically, raising her hands that are still in cuffs.
You walk over to them and touched each of their cuffs that magically disappear each time. You walked over to Cap who backed away slightly. You scoffed and held out your hand that somehow now had all the cuffs.
"Take it, then I'll explain." You threw the cuffs at him, which he caught easily.
Nathaniel walked over to you and frowned, seeing that your wrist had red marks around them from the cuffs being too tight for you.
"Who placed cuffs on you? They need training or something." He said, adding a soft 'tsk' as he examined your wrists. Steve brows raised in surprise, obviously taking offense from that.
"I'm fine, Nate." You pulled your hands away from him and gave him a subtle glare for touching you.
"Anyways, as I was saying-"
"Are you two dating?" Your words were cut off by Natasha's sudden question. You raised your brows in shock, before smirking in amusement.
"Interested in my dating life, are we, Ms. Romanoff?" You asked, smirking teasingly. You saw a few of your members letting out a huff of annoyance hearing you flirting again. You chose to ignore them.
"No. We just don't appreciate having a couple in the team." She answered flatly. You tried reading her even if you knew very well you couldn't.
"But according to our research, you and Mr. Banner over there, had a small thing going on." You countered, raising a questioning brow at her. You didn't know why you even mentioned that, you and Nate really aren't a couple anyways. Maybe YOU are curious about her dating life.
Bruce cleared his throat awkwardly. You didn't let the obvious awkward tension in the room deter you, instead, you sat on the arm rests of Nathan's chair, crossing your arms as you look at the team boredly.
"Being romantically attached to someone doesn't affect my team's performance in the field, don't worry." You saw Steph and Nate giving you a thankful smile, which you gladly returned as a teasing one once you saw them holding hands underneath the table.
Silence overtook the meeting room. The avengers were trying to read you and your team, while your team were just relishing in the fact that you guys know I'm something that the older heroes don't.
"As much as I like the confusion on your faces, we'll have to tell you why we're here." You paused, looking at Steph, a silent cue for her to explain.
"Our universe is fucked. Someone fucked with us a week ago, they wanted to destroy our reality. Luckily, we were able to somehow freeze the entire timeline there. We need to go back in time to fix this mess, to be able to prepare, to avoid our universe from disappearing."
"So you want to create a time machine in this universe to travel back in time to your universe?" Steve asked, his brows furrowing even more than before.
"Yeah."
"Why us?" Natasha asked, raising a brow— specifically at Y/n.
"Why not?" You answered with a shrug. "We have 2 years to do it."

The energy in the bar was none short of chaotic. Between the loud music, the alcohol flowing and the rowdy mix of bikers and patrons it was looking to be a night to remember.
“I can not wait to get up on that stage and destroy some wannabes!” Zoey practically shouts while strapping on her electric guitar.
“Nothing beats that high,” I smile devilishly. “Well except for sex of course.”
We all laugh as we hear our band being called to the stage. “Next up, Serenity!”
It’s the first round of Battle of The Bands Night. I’m not worried about making it to the final round and grabbing the cash prize. Most bands here are so fresh they haven’t performed as a group much yet. So that leaves us at an advantage. We’ve been thick as thieves since high school when we used to skip class and jam out in my garage.
Not wanting to blow our load on the first round we chose to start with “Becky’s So Hot” to show off our sex appeal and my vocal talents. I may be singing about Becky, but in actuality it’s about the time in my life when Jax was dating Tara when he and I were broken up.
I wanted to destroy her for having the audacity to be with him. While at the same time I wanted to know first hand what made her so special that he kept her around as more than just a lay. The feelings were so conflicting, the only way I could work through it was to put it into a song.
Fine, okay, I'll say, I went and stalked her And I don't really blame you 'cause Damn, the waist, the hips, the face, this is awkward Are you in love like we were? If I were you, I'd probably keep her Makes me wanna hit her when I see her 'Cause Becky's so hot in your vintage t-shirt Ooh, she the one I should hate But I wanna know how she taste I kinda wanna hit her when I see her Becky's so hot in your vintage t-shirt
As we reach the interlude, my eyes catch the familiar frame of one Steven Grant Rogers. My ex and lead singer of The Howlies. Standing to his left, bass strapped to his chest, is of course Bucky Barnes. Steve’s best friend and cliché fuckboy musician.
He happens to also be Zoey’s ex. This is going to be interesting to say the least. It’s been months since we’ve seen each other. Much less been in the same room competing to see who the better band is.
It’s us of course. The Howlies are good. But they rely heavily on their good looks to fill seats. About 80% of their fans are of the female variety. Where ours is ratioed at about 60/40.
I turn to Zoey. She gives me a subtle nod. Acknowledging she’s aware of their presence and that it’s playtime.
I scan the crowd for my favorite blonde haired biker until I lock eyes with Jax just as the final chorus begins. I sing to him for a moment before turning my attention back to enticing the crowd into wanting to see more of us.
I sing the last line and drop a kiss to Zoey’s neck, as I stare down our exes. A challenge in my eyes. Tonight just got so much more entertaining.
Tumblr media
As predicted, The Howlies make it to the next round. This time we were afforded the chance to watch them go before us.
They leaned full on into the whole sexy bad boy thing, playing “I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE”. A song I helped Steve write. It’s a great song. Really gets the ladies hot and bothered. Never ceases to get them laid. Regardless of if they’re attached.
It’s cute that they think they somehow have the upper hand. I have more talent in my pinky finger than the lot of them combined. Plus all that feminine rage to go with it.
With a whispered last line, the song is over. We wait for the next band to finish before we take the stage.
Where The Howlies went for a sexy hair band vibe for this round. We’ve taken the gritty and dirty approach by performing “Drain The Blood”.
See we’re no one trick pony. We can growl and scream with the best of them. While still remaining soft and feminine at the same time.
This song always gets the crowd going. I can see elbows benign thrown and shoulders getting checked from my vantage point on stage. I just feed into the frenzy, hypnotizing the bar with our haunting harmonies over rough chords.
Another round in the bag.
As the night carries on, both of our bands make it to the final round. This is where we pull out all the stops and show them who the better band truly is.
Man is this going to feel great.
Tumblr media
The time has come to begin the final round.
It’s just us and The Howlies up on stage ready to give one final performance each. Facing off against each other as we share a stage.
We flipped a coin and the boys won, choosing to go first. Steve saunters up to the mic as the familiar beat of “Tear You Apart” begins behind him.
I’m not surprised they chose to perform this song. It really is their best. Get’s the girls going crazy. They may think they have it in the bag with his haunting tune.
But they couldn't be more wrong.
I watch from our spot at the back of the stage, as Steve swivels and sways his large body to the beat. Singing about crossing the line from friends to lovers. The obsessive need to devour and take control.
He once told me that I was the inspiration behind the music. That he had hungered for me from the moment he met me. That he spent days just biding his time, his mind obsessing. Playing an endless loop of me smiling sweetly. My touches, innocent in nature, felt anything but to him.
I was fuel to his creative mind. The ache he could not soothe until I was unattached.
When I was free from that biker shaped attachment he made his move.
It was intense and volatile. Burning out as quickly as it was set ablaze. For Steven wanted my heart when it has always belonged to another.
He makes a point to turn his back to the audience and move his hips like a hedonistic Elvis. We lock eyes as he sings the last line.
Give me those Ocean eyes all you want, pretty boy. I will never be yours for more than the memories I left your damaged soul with.
If he thought singing that song was going to throw me off somehow because of my affiliation to it, he was more delusional than I thought.
Two can play that game. And I am far better at it.
We wait for the swooning women to settle down as The Howlies step to the side of the stage and take our places. I make a show out of lowering the mic stand while Zoey begins strumming the opening chords to “abcdefu”.
I kept it calm and cute as I sang my own song inspired by Steven.
I swear I meant to mean the best when it ended Even tried to bite my tongue when you start shit Now you're textin' all my friends asking questions They never even liked you in the first place Dated a girl that I hate for the attention She only made it two days, what a connection It's like you'd do anything for my affection You're goin' all about it in the worst ways I was into you, but I'm over it now And I was tryin' to be nice But nothing's getting through, so let me spell it out
I rip the mic off the stand, turn towards The Howlies and flip them the bird as Zoey joins me in singing the chorus.
A-B-C-D-E,  FUCK-U And your mom and your sister and your job And your broke-ass car and that shit you call art Fuck you and your friends that I'll never see again Everybody but your dog, you can all fuck off Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah
Tumblr media
The look on their faces is priceless. Our song is catchy as fuck and by the time we make it back to the chorus the crowd is already sing along with us. All the women who were drooling over them minutes ago, have now all tapped into their feminine rage.
It’s glorious.
We brought it down to just me and Zoey's guitar as I lightheartedly told them they could all fuck off for the last time.
There was a beat of silence before the crowd erupted and ‘Serenity’ chants began. It was safe to say we won the battle. This particular victory never tasted sweeter.
After accepting our prize and bragging rights, we made our way over to the MC is holding court in their favorite booth.
As we reach the table, Jax stands up and grabs my hand. Pulling me along behind him towards the closed off hall that leads to the extra rooms.
As soon as we clear the doorway, he has me pinned against the wall with his lips locked with mine in a fevered dance.
He pulls away when we are both in need of air. “You are so fucking hot when your up on stage. Even more so when you're being bad. Tell me, darlin’. You wearing anything under these leather shorts?”
“Do you see any panty lines?” I quirk a brow at him.
He literally growls at me before dropping to his knees and untying my shorts. He pulls them down, over my ass and thighs until he reaches my knees. “I only need you to pull one leg out for this.”
“And what pray tell do you have in mind?” I ask as I remove my right leg from the skin tight fabric. Leaving my shorts to gather on my left ankle.
He rises to his feet, unzips his jeans and pulls his cock out. It’s rock hard and angry. A bead of precum perched at the tip ready to drop at any moment.
“Jump.” He demands and I oblige. He grips onto my thighs. Wrapping them around his waist as he slides himself inside me. Pausing when our pelvis’s touch.
The stretch of my walls accommodating his thickness steals my breath away.
We make eye contact as he pulls back and slams forward. I have to bite my lip from moaning out and alerting the bar to what is going on.
Jax ruts into me with the skill and precision of a man who knows all too well what my body craves. But all I can focus on is how amazing his dick feels inside me.
Without a care in the world, he continues to fuck me. He’s so engrossed in trying to take me apart that he doesn't hear the door creak open.
But I do.
I watch over Jax’s leather clad shoulder as Steve walks in. I gasp at being caught by my former lover.
Jax turns his head to the side to see what’s going on. He quirks a brow and then turns back to me, pressing his forehead to mine as he fucks me even harder. Almost as if he’s taunting him.
"Go ahead and keep your eyes on him, darlin’. Watch as he remembers what you look and sound like lost in pleasure. Watch what it does to him.” He states aloud.
I lock eyes with the heavily tattooed blonde Adonis spectating our coupling. Noting the heat and hurt in his eyes. He refuses to move along though. Almost challenging me to follow through and enjoy what is happening.
Alright then, Stevie. Challenge accepted.
I turn my gaze back to the man who owns my heart. Whispering for only us to hear, “Do your worst Jackson. I’m so close, baby. Go ahead and destroy me. Remind the whole bar who I belong to. Then we can get some good food on the way home and then get lost in each other all over again.”
I feel his chest vibrate against mine as he hums his satisfaction with my suggestion.
He pulls his hips back until just his tip remains cushioned by my slightly swollen lips. He takes a moment to turn my head toward a stoic Steve, still taking up space in the small hallway.
“Don’t you dare hold a single moan in. Let them all know. Especially him, why we’re so good together. Understand.” Jax commands.
I barely have a moment to nod my head in agreement before he snaps his hips forward and sinks back deep inside me. A moan escaping my throat at the feeling of being so full once again, so intensely.
Mind set on staking his claim for the whole bar to hear, Jax sets a ruthless pace. My eyes catch the ocean blues of Steve’s once more.
The lust is clear, seemingly overshadowing the hurt for the time being. I don’t shy away from their harshness. I lean into it. Allowing it to fuel the flames of my impending orgasm.
He can be jealous and angry about the current situation all he wants. It won’t change a thing. Hopefully this little display will finally kill whatever thread of us being together he’s holding on to.
I put the thoughts of Steve aside. Focusing on the man between my thighs, thoroughly taking me apart. Placing every bit of love into each wicked thrust. He does that thing I love with his hips. Pivoting them a certain way that allows his tip to graze against my sweet spongy spot.
It’s like a direct line to my climax. With each pass I can feel the coil tighten and a tingle begin at the base of my spine down to my toes.
I’m panting and whimpering, uncaring of my surroundings. I can barely make out Jax’s encouraging words in my ear of how I'm a good girl. That I’m taking him so well.
With a well placed thrust, followed by a grind that has his belt buckle teasing my clit. I give in and succumb to the pleasure of my orgasm taking over me. I sound loud even to myself, as a guttural moan fills the air. I’m barely aware of Jax’s name being screamed out, along with the words yes and oh fuck on repeat.
I can just make out his own roar as he loses himself inside me. Filling me to the brim while he growls sweet praises in my ear as the world seems to fade away.
I have no idea when I closed my eyes, but upon opening them, I see that we are alone again.
Jax takes that moment to grab my chin and lay the softest kiss to my lips. I can’t help but lean into the sweet gesture.
“Come on, darlin’. I’ve been told I need to feed my girl some greasy food before we settle in for the night.”
He helps me back into my shorts before pulling open the door that heads back into the bar. A ruckus of applause meets us as we navigate around the drunken bikers to the exit. Hoots, hollers and whistles follow us out into the night as we climb onto his bike and make our way home.

Both you and Steve have been loving your life since he retired from the Avengers. The first thing both of you did when it was finally time is travel all across the world, and the both of you were gone for a good year and a half, visiting every continent available and seeing as many countries as possible, all while being wrapped up in nothing but each other. The both of you had lots of sexual encounters in every single country you visited, either having sex outside, in non-conventional places, enjoying occasional threesomes, or everything you could think of, you've shared in those countries, making unforgettable memories.
And now that you're back, you've built your own dream life together, which started with buying your own house. After many discussions, you've decided to buy a beautiful brownstone in Brooklyn, not far from where Steve grew up to honor that lifelong dream of his. You also managed to live your dream by starting your daycare. And today, you're going to welcome a new arrival to your very own daycare, in the form of little Lily Barnes, Bucky's daughter. He is a single dad after the mother of his daughter abandoned her right after giving birth, so he's eternally grateful for the fact that you were willing to make room in your daycare.
''I'll see you tonight Bubba, I'm closing the daycare myself today, so I'm going to be late for dinner,'' you tell Steve, and even though he doesn't have to wait for you to get home, he does every single time. ''Have a good today Pumpkin, and tell Bucky hi from me when you see him!'' he says with a smile, and he snakes his hand around your waist to pull you closer for a kiss. ''I love you so much, my little Pumpkin,'' he says and he leans in for a soft, passionate kiss. You could get lost in his kisses forever, but right now you had a daycare to open. ''I love you more, Bubba,'' you say as you pull away from him. Steve handed you your lunch, since he was home a lot more than you, he always insists on making your lunch to ensure you eat enough during the day.
You walk out of the door and open your car with a push on the fob, and you quickly get in for your drive, you were trying to avoid most of the traffic on your way to the daycare and the universe was nice to you today. You pull into the parking lot attached to the daycare and you get out to get ready for the day, and this time two of your staff members were already waiting for you. ''Good morning girls!'' you said to Jess and Scarlett, the other 4 members of staff working today would arrive later. ''Mornin' Y/N!'' they said in a chorus before you opened the door and let both of them in. ''We have a new addition to the daycare today, and she will be in your class, Scarlett,'' you told her.
''Her name is Lily Barnes, and before you ask, yes she is the daughter of Bucky Barnes. He's a great friend of mine of Steve's, so I expect that everyone treats him with the same respect as you would every other parent,'' you said to them, already knowing what they were thinking. ''Bucky will bring her by around 10 AM, but I'm going to give him a tour first before he will bring her to your class,'' you told her and she smiled at you, clearly not too happy about having the Winter Soldier's daughter in her class. Both of them got their classes ready and starting at 8 AM, the first parents are dropping off the first children of the day. You got everything ready for when Bucky would arrive.
When 10 AM rolled around, you got a call from Bucky, and you immediately got worried. ''Hi Buck, everything okay?'' you ask, and you hear an out-of-breath Bucky on the other side. ''Yeah, no, we're on our way! Sorry we're late!'' he said and you told him not to worry about it, he could text you when he arrived, and he did. He was half an hour later than planned, but you didn't mind, you were well aware of how hectic the life of an Avenger could be. ''Mornin' Buck, morning' Lily!'' you said when you saw the little girl with her bright blue eyes and dark brown curls. ''How are you two doing today?'' before pulling Bucky in for a hug, which he looked like he could use by now.
''We're doing better now, but I overslept, got home late last night from a mission,'' Bucky told you and you completely understood, you've been with Steve long enough to know how these days can go. ''Alright, I will give you the tour and afterward, you can leave this little beauty with us for the day,'' you say as you take a look at Lily, who has put her head on her dad's shoulder, trying to hide herself out of shyness. ''Oh, you don't have to hide for Y/N, malyshka,'' he tells Lily. She opens one eye and takes you in, giving you a small smile before hiding again. ''It's okay, it's a big day after all,'' you say before starting with the tour, and ending at the class where Scarlett is.
''Scarlett, can I borrow you for a minute? Nina is here to look after the kids and I would like you to meet both Lily and Bucky,'' you tell her and she follows you to the hallway, albeit a bit reluctantly. ''Good morning!'' she says despite the way she feels about Bucky. ''Mornin', I'm Sergeant James Barnes - you can call me Bucky - and this gorgeous thing is my daughter, Lily,'' he says with an outstretched hand, and she shakes giving her name. Then she steps a bit closer to introduce herself to Lily. ''Good morning beautiful girl, my name is Ms. Scarlett, and you can come to play with me today!'' she said and that made her instantly happy.
''Oh, you said just the right thing, she loves to play! Alright malyshka, I will see you tomorrow, you will sleep over with uncle Steve and Aunt Y/N tonight, doesn't that sound like fun?'' he said, before turning to you. ''Thank you again, Y/N, I can't explain how much this means to me, all of it,'' he said before he handed Lily to Scarlett. ''Wanna say goodbye to daddy?'' Scarlett said and she waved at her dad who waved back. ''Bye, malyshka! I love you so so SO much, and I will see you again tomorrow!'' he said planting a few big kisses on her cheeks before she went into the classroom, still waving at Bucky. ''Oh, Buck, Steve wanted me to say hi!'' you said before he walked out the door. ''Hi back!'' he said before quickly walking out the door, he was late for work at this point.
The rest of the day went on without a hitch, and Lily was more than happy to go home with you, you and Steve have been babysitting on and off for Bucky since she was born so it wasn't weird for her. ''Ready to go see what Uncle Steve is up to, Sunshine?'' you asked and Lily nodded. The both of you drove home and before you knew it, you were unlocking the door to your house again. ''Bubba, we're home!'' you said and Steve walked into the hallway with a big smile on his face. ''Ah, there are my two favorite girls in this world!'' he said before picking Lily from your arms, that way you could take off your coat and shoes. He leaned in for a soft kiss, but it still takes your breath away every single time.
The three of you had dinner together before bathing Lily and putting her to bed, you had turned one of your spare rooms into her bedroom since she was spending quite some time with the both of you. ''Still can't believe how amazing you are with kids,'' Steve sighed as he looked at you putting Lily down to sleep. Both of you have spent a long time trying to have children of your own, but after many tests, you found out that you're infertile, and you would not be able to conceive children of your own. This is exactly the reason you wanted your dream of owning your daycare to become more of a reality. ''Thank you, Bubba. I know you would make a perfect dad too,'' you said with a defeated sigh, you were well aware of Steve's chance on children.
Steve's biggest dream would be to have his very own family, and it had broken you time and time again that you could not give that to him. Even though there was nothing he wanted more, Steve never hated you for it, exactly the opposite even. ''I know, Pumpkin, but my dream already came true when I met you, as long as I have you I don't need anything else,'' he said, and he proved it to you every single day. The day both of you found out Bucky would become a father, you and Steve immediately offered to take care of the child whenever necessary, you both loved the little girl to pieces. Despite this, there has been an itch neither of you could quite scratch.
This was an itch in the form of a pet, more specifically in the form of a dog. Steve is home full-time nowadays and you work 3 days a week, so there is no better timing to pick out a lovely friend than now. Since you had Lily today, all three of you went to the animal shelter to go see if a new friend was waiting to be added to your household. This morning, you FaceTimed Bucky because Lily missed her dad, and his heart broke into a million pieces when he saw. ''Oh no, malyshka, I will be with you again tonight!'' he said, and you explained your plan for the day. ''Just make sure she doesn't bring one home for me!'' he joked and with that, all three of you went to the shelter.
''Good morning, we were hoping to adopt a dog to come home with us today,'' Steve said as soon as you reached the front desk. ''Well, then you've come to the right place! Please follow me, and I will show you which of our furry friends are up for adoption right now,'' she said with a happy voice. ''Your daughter is beautiful,'' the woman said to you, you were holding Lily in your arms. ''Oh, she is beautiful, isn't she? But she's not ours, we're babysitting for a friend,'' you said with a big smile on your face, you were used to it by now. ''Oh, I'm sorry! I assumed-'' ''It's okay. I don't mind thinking people she's mine, but don't let her father hear it before he gets jealous,'' you joked with a wink and Steve laughed at your comment.
''Most of the animals in our shelter are here after being brought in from either abusive homes or the streets, and now they're all looking for their forever homes,'' the woman explained, and your heart broke a little at the thought of these animals taken care of badly. After roaming around for a while, you spotted the perfect addition to your home. A 5-year-old white and brown male husky, named Phoenix. ''Hi Phoenix, aren't you gorgeous?!'' you said when you kneeled in front of his cage, and he came up to the both of you with a wagging tail and a curious look in his eyes.
''Steve, you should come take a look at him!'' you said and he came right over, falling in love with him instantly. ''Oh wow, you're such a beautiful guy!'' he said, and before you knew it, all four of you were walking out of the shelter, and onto your home where Phoenix would spend the rest of his days with you. When Bucky came to pick up Lily that evening he almost got trampled by him, he ran up excitedly to the visitor. ''Woah there, easy!'' he said before petting him. ''I see your mission was successful?'' he asked Steve and he nodded. ''It was indeed, we'd like you to meet Phoenix, our newest member of the Rogers family,'' he said with a proud look on his face. Finally, his own family felt complete with everyone who was in his house right now.

It was the fourth time Steve had seen himself in the mirror. He still felt uncomfortable with that suit; he really didn't expect to wear something so ridiculous and that was so tight in that part, not to mention that it was too noticeable. He tried to cover a little with the shield since before the serum he was already gifted, but after... well, he had to look for other methods to hide it.
Or maybe he was just exaggeratedly nervous, and it didn't really show at all, nor did he look bad, apart from the fact that it was his first presentation in front of an audience. Oh, no, he had never spoken in public or done anything like that before in his life.
You gasped as you were told that in five minutes you had to go on stage.
You smiled when you saw Steve; you looked around him with your eyes and stared at his crotch; you bit your lip; you were going to do everything in your power to have sex with Steve.
"What do you see? "another of the chorus girls asked you.
"Nothing special," you answered without taking your eyes off her. The other chorus girl turned her gaze to where you were looking.
"Do you really think it's that big? "she questioned.
"Maybe it is bigger than it looks, and I will check it out.
"Are you ready?" Steve was trying to hide his nervousness.
"Of course, Steve, do you have anything to do after the show?" You quickly formulated a small plan; you were going to test your theory as soon as possible.
"No, I don’t."
"Well, let's go for a walk tonight," you proposed. Steve turned to look at you to make sure you weren't joking, then nodded.
You smiled again. It had been too easy.

Let Me Spell It Out For You
Jax Teller x Rockstar!Reader "Firefly"
ExBf!Rockstar!Steve Rogers x Reader
It’s Battle of the Bands Night at your local hole in the wall bar run by SAMCROW. You're currently dating their prez Jax Teller. Your lifelong best friend and first real love. Somehow your ex, Steve Rogers and his band The Howlies have shown up, vying for top spot and the cash prize. Such a shame they’ll have to go against you and your all girl group Serenity. It’s going to be a verbal bloodbath and you can’t wait to humiliate his arrogant ass.
Fine, okay, I'll say, I went and stalked her
And I don't really blame you 'cause
Damn, the waist, the hips, the face, this is awkward
Are you in love like we were?
If I were you, I'd probably keep her
Makes me wanna hit her when I see her
'Cause Becky's so hot in your vintage t-shirt
Ooh, she the one I should hate
But I wanna know how she taste
I kinda wanna hit her when I see her
Becky's so hot in your vintage t-shirt

War Propaganda in The First Avenger and Pinocchio
A thing that has been stuck in my mind since I watched Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and that I finally decided to look into in-depth: The propaganda sequence where Pinocchio is starring in shows to promote Italy’s role in WWII is very similar to the one in Captain America: The First Avenger (they are both supernatural in some way, a super soldier and a talking puppet, used to make propaganda for their countries involved in the Second World War in a big showy performance where the big draw is their supernatural being), but it has the exact opposite effect. I really wanted to do a proper comparison between the two.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, first, the obvious, which is that culturally, we all agree that Italy in WWII = bad while the USA in WWII = good. I am going to ignore this one, because my interest is the emotions provoked by the movies itself, but, it’s a Thing. That having said, we have:
- The characters. Steve Rogers is a full grown adult, who is absolutely negatively impacted by the ableism and eugenist attitudes that are fundamental parts of his society causing him to want to prove himself at all cost, but the movie never actually dwells on this. As far as it is concerned, Steve is 100% there on his own free will, and he has fought HARD to get there. He committed multiple felonies by enlisting under a false identity, went through boot camp while being physically disabled, had been experimented on AND then committed an act of heroism before even getting this much of a chance. Meanwhile Pinocchio is a child who was on his way to school when he got sidetracked by the circus and tricked into joining. The entire sequence of his performances is intercut with his father trying to track him, but always arriving too late. He very, very much should not be on that stage.
- The songs. In The First Avenger, the entire sequence it set to the same one, very upbeat song. Pinocchio is singing two, one about a boy saying goodbye to his father, which is very sad, and the war propaganda one, which isn’t. However, the two songs follow very closely, and the shot of Pinocchio taking the gun descending from the ceiling, which by all logic should belong to the second song, is still set to the final notes of the first one. The two flow together, forming one single song about children being taken from their parents to fight in the war.
- Steve is not alone on the stage. All through his tour, he is surrounded by chorus girls, fans, and people helping to make the show. Meanwhile, Pinocchio is always alone, so is Geppetto. Even when they are on the screen with other characters, they don’t interact.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Before going on stage, Steve is nervous. Pinocchio just looks sad, then he forces on a smile and starts his song.
- Again, the way the sequences are progressing. Steve starts out very awkward, reading the notes from the back of his shield and looking in the camera when trying to act, then he gets better. His performance becomes more natural and confident, the spectacle gains more elements like the Hitler punching and him lifting the motorbike at the end, the stage becomes bigger and more Captain America-themed, he gets his own merch, and the movies do well with the audience. Pinocchio moves in the opposite direction. He actually has three performance songs: The first is silly nonsense about him liking sweets, the second is the chiao papa one, and the third the actual propaganda. It very much is a progression of loss of joy and innocence.
- Steve gains personal profit from his performance. He is more confident on the stage! He’s got fans! A pretty girl shows interest in him! He gets to sit in a cinema and see how the audience enjoys his work! Pinocchio doesn’t get a thing. Even at the end of his performance, it is the puppet master who comes on stage to be applauded by the audience, while Pinocchio sits forgotten on his wooden eagle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Steve gets cheered at by children in the audience, who are, and will remain, perfectly safe. In the entire movie, there is only one child in danger, when the Hydra agent holds him hostage, but even there, don’t worry too much, he can swim. In Pinocchio, the children have the threat of being away hanging over their head. The fun circus poster gets covered by war propaganda, and of course there is the very, very memorable scene where boys get taken from their families. Many of them die later on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Also worth noting, we don’t actually get to see any European civilians in The First Avenger, at all. No depictions of suffering. Compare this with Wonder Woman, which is much more critical of the war, where there is a lot of suffering, both among soldiers and local civilians. Of course, in Pinocchio, A LOT of civilians die a completely meaningless and random death because of war, usually by bombing. Almost all of them are children.
- At the end of the sequences, both heroes are unhappy. Steve, because he doesn’t actually want to be a performer, he wants to fight in the war. Pinocchio, because he is being worked to exhaustion, and Spazzatura tells him clearly that he is being exploited by the puppet master, who promised to send Pinocchio’s earnings to his father, but keeps it all to himself.
End result: Even if we ignore the rest of the two movies, the propaganda sequences in Captain America: The First Avenger and Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio have the exact opposite effects: The first glorifies war and getting involved in it, while the second makes you feel very bad about it.
Idk. I’m sure that someone has done a better analysis, but this was still a very fun thing to look at. And useful, because something something propaganda, something something depiction vs endorsement, something something I love both of these movies but The First Avenger is still VERY blatant US propaganda while Pinocchio is about being critical of authoritarianism.

Note: The show notes and the story synopsis are not final, this is just currently what I have in mind. Just not that I thought that Rogers: The Musical in Hawkeye was cringe and I want this to be an Avengers musical with a much higher quality.
Assassins In Love (An Avengers Musical)
Production Notes:
The story and the production design will incorporate elements from the comics, in particular the 616 timeline, but there will be references to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. References to the Avengers Assemble and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes cartoons are very welcome. The goal of the production is to be fan service in good taste, but in such a way that non-fans can also enjoy it.  Action scenes/language/sensuality will be kept at the PG-13 level.
The songs will be in the style of classic Broadway and Disney musical numbers, with touches of hip-hop and big band jazz. The superheroes and villains in their fight scenes will wear bright, colorful costumes based on their comic book and film counterparts.
The majority of the story takes place in 2010s New York City. Scenes with flashbacks and travel to other places can be depicted with lighting and stage effects.
Genres: Action, Romance, Romantic Comedy, Suspense, Spy thriller
Characters:
Starring Characters: Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier and Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow
Supporting female characters: Sharon Carter/Agent 13, Maria Hill, Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch
Pepper Potts appears at the party in Act I and in the Finale
Supporting Male characters: Steve Rogers/Captain America and Sam Wilson/Falcon; Tony Stark/Iron Man, Nick Fury, Phil Coulson, and of course Clint Barton/Hawkeye
Villains: Alexander Pierce/Red Skull and Madame B from the Red Room; Kingpin also appears briefly in Act II
Avengers Chorus: Vision, Thor, Bruce Banner/Hulk, Scott Lang/Ant-man and Hope Van Dyne/Wasp; Doctor Strange; Peter Parker/Spider-man, Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver; Rhodey/War Machine
Villain Chorus (for opening Avengers battle): Including but not limited to Loki, Baron Mordo, Mysterio, Doc Ock, Whiplash, and Zemo
Extras: NYC Civilians, SHIELD/Hydra agents
Clint Barton’s family from the MCU will be mentioned throughout the play and appear in the finale
Steve Rogers and Sharon Carter will have a romance that parallels and foils Bucky and Natasha’s relationship; they will be a couple by the end of the show.
Story Synopsis
ACT I:
Prologue—(The prologue will be depicted in a montage of scenes and dances with minimal dialogue).
Steve Rogers/Captain America and Bucky Barnes were best friends and fought side-by-side in World War II. At the end of the war, Captain America goes missing and Bucky is captured by Hydra. Red Skull turns Bucky into the Winter Soldier and uses him as an assassin to enforce Hydra’s agenda.
Meanwhile in Russia, the Red Room headed by Madame B trains young girls to be assassins but incorporates ballet into their program. Young Natasha Romanoff is one of the best pupils in the Red Room. Red Skull and Madame B arrange to have the Winter Soldier train with teenaged Natasha.
In modern times, Captain America returns. He fights the Winter Soldier only to discover that his opponent is his long-lost friend Bucky. Bucky goes into hiding.
Present Day
The Avengers save New York City from a team of supervillains. After the battle, Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff have a personal chat. Steve is adjusting to the modern world. However, ever since his encounter with the Winter Soldier he suspects that Hydra could be building in secret. He is also looking for Bucky but so far the search is fruitless. Natasha Romanoff is content with her existence as an Avenger, but she wonders if she can ever have a normal life and do something besides be an assassin. Sam Wilson arrives to tell Steve that Bucky has turned up.
At the headquarters of SHIELD, Director Nick Fury suspects that Hydra is rising again and warns Phil Coulson and Maria Hill to be on the lookout. Hydra is, in fact, operating under Fury’s nose, led by the Red Skull disguised as Alexander Pierce. Pierce works in a high-profile position at SHIELD. Madame B pays Pierce a visit, and together they plot to destroy the Avengers and help Hydra take over the world. Throughout the play, Madame B is in the background of various crowded scenes, spying on the characters.
After spending months in hiding, Bucky Barnes is in Brooklyn, his and Steve’s childhood home. Bucky is living in the streets while trying to remember his past and put his Winter Soldier days behind him. Steve Rogers finds Bucky and offers him material help. After some persuasion and argument, Steve gets Bucky to move in with him and Sam. Steve also invites Bucky to a party that night being thrown by Tony Stark.
Tony Stark throws a party at the Avengers Tower in Manhattan. While the other guests enjoy the party, Bucky sees Natasha Romanoff from across the crowded room. He remembers her from the Red Room. Natasha sees Bucky also, and she recognizes him. They meet and they talk briefly.
A few days after the party, she goes to Central Park and she sees Bucky again. They discuss their shared past.
Steve gets Bucky a job at SHIELD as a super-agent. For his first assignment, Bucky is sent out with Natasha Romanoff. It is at this point that Bucky recognizes that he has a growing romantic attraction to her.
ACT II:
Bucky has a hard time hiding his feelings for Natasha from the other Avengers. The Avengers and their coworkers at SHIELD believe that Natasha might like him back, but she is in denial. Nick Fury sends Bucky and Natasha undercover to a party in Manhattan hosted by Kingpin. Natasha and Bucky dance together at the party, and then they fight Kingpin’s thugs and arrest the crime magnate.
After the party, Natasha and Bucky frequently go on assignments together, but they also start seeing each other outside of work. Bucky is unsure about where to take his relationship with Natasha. He goes to Steve for advice, and as they reminisce about old times, they rekindle their former friendship. Later, Bucky summons up his personal courage and he tells Natasha that he loves her. They start ‘officially’ dating as a couple, but Madame B is spying on them. Maria Hill, however, is in turn spying on Madame B. Hill tips off Fury that Hydra is going to make their move.
Natasha rented an apartment in Manhattan (furnished by SHIELD) for an ongoing assignment and she is staying there while she and Bucky are dating. Madame B breaks into Natasha’s apartment while she is getting ready for a date with Bucky. Natasha is overpowered and tied to a chair. Then Madame B disguises herself as Natasha and she goes out and captures Bucky.
The Avengers receive Nick Fury’s call for help and they ‘Assemble’ to take out Hydra. Sharon Carter makes a phone call to Natasha and learns that Natasha has been captured and that Bucky is being lured into a trap. While the Avengers go to save Bucky, Natasha attacks her guards and frees herself to go join the Avengers.
When the Avengers come to rescue Bucky, Alexander Pierce reveals himself to them as Red Skull. There is a battle between the Avengers and the Hydra sleeper agents. Natasha arrives, and during the combat she and Bucky steal several moments to ask each other if they are all right. Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes take turns fighting the Red Skull. Red Skull attempts to set off a bomb, but Natasha disables it. Bucky kills Red Skull. Madame B and the other Hydra agents are arrested. Bucky asks Natasha to marry him and she says yes.
Finale: The Avengers throw a big wedding for Bucky and Natasha.

Stiles' uncle is Captain America, his father is the town Sheriff, and now his best friend is a werewolf. With threats coming from three different directions, it's no wonder Stiles is so used to danger. He hadn't expected getting too used to it. - That was probably why he was so blindsided when he found Captain America #1 in one of the boxes of old books. He traced the bowdlerized Bucky on the cover, and snorted at the cheesy cover with Steve punching Hitler in the face. Stiles remembered Steve talking about the shows and how the act included punching Hitler in the face. Mostly from Steve talking about the actor who played Hitler. As the only two men in a show otherwise made up of USO chorus girls, they'd been tight. Most of the time, Steve was just Steve Rogers, Stiles' adoptive grand-uncle, the extended family Stiles never even knew he wanted. It always felt like a punch to the gut every time the universe reminded him that his uncle was also Captain America, the First Avenger and a Hero of New York.

Steve/Bucky USO show Masterlist
Captain America Has a Fella (ao3) - PR Zed (przed) G, 2k
Summary: "Welcome to the USO," the director tells Audrey. And with a handshake, she's in.
Six month she's been in New York, slinging hash in a diner and going to every audition she hears about. Now she's finally got a job dancing. She's ecstatic.
She's not so sure about working with this Captain America guy, though.
Or how one showgirl finds out there's more to Captain America than meets the eye.
I'd Know That Face Anywhere (ao3) - Shay081793 E, 2k
Summary: The 107th never got captured. Instead, Bucky Barnes is in the audience when that clown "Captain America" performs to rally the troops, and holy shit, that clown is Steve Rogers.
If I said I liked your body, would you hold it against me? (ao3) - aprofessorstale T, 1k
Summary: Prompt: What if Bucky didn't get captured and was in the audience with the 107th to see Captain America?
La Libération (ao3) - hermionesmydawg M, 3k
Summary: All the blood rushed to Bucky’s face. An uncharacteristic blush from him. “I don’t recall that story. You know, I do have well-documented memory problems.”
Natasha tsked. “He knows the story.”
“He does,” Steve mused. “It’s okay if you don’t want to tell it.”
“Okay,” Bucky agreed quickly.
“I’ll just tell it,” Steve said. “It was-“
“August,” Bucky interrupted, shooting a scowl at Steve. “August of ‘44, the liberation of Paris. And I was fucking miserable.”
Let's Hear It for Captain America! (ao3) - JJK T, 4k
Summary: Steve lost his virginity to a USO girl in 1943? Sure he did, if you mean he lost it to Bucky dressed in a USO girl outfit.....
* * *
Love confessions post-Azzano lead to a discovery of Steve's Captain America costume and the USO girls help out when Bucky decides he wants to dress up for Steve.
Mama Tiger Knows Best (ao3) - darth_stitch T, 415
Summary: "All right, Rogers, that handsome fella of yours better appreciate how we’re keeping you safe for him."
Riders In The Sky (ao3) - roe87 steve/bucky M, 3k
Summary: Bucky time travels back to 1943 to watch Steve perform onstage as Captain America in the USO show. (He likes the outfit, okay?)
Then he continues on to the late '40s, pays Arnim Zola a visit... then swings back around to help the Steve from his timeline as he returns the Infinity Stones.
Once he rights the main timeline, Bucky heads back again, rescues Steve from 1949, and takes him on an adventure.
Steve's USO Tour (ao3) - roe87 M, 9k
Summary: After Project Rebirth, Steve has his brand new body but Col. Phillips and the Army doesn't want him.
Senator Brandt, however, offers Steve the chance to do his part by promoting war bonds... in tights, in a USO show.
Lucky for Steve, he meets some new friends to keep him company, including a chorus girl named Bucky.
Sucker Punch (ao3) - yellow_crayon E, 15k
Summary: Steve Rogers is not the blushing virgin everyone thinks.
(Five times they almost get caught and one time they do.)
To A Girl in 1943 on the USO Tour (ao3) - UnderwhelmingAlchemist E, 4k
Summary: Steve is questioned about how exactly he lost his virginity. Technically he's only lying about the "girl" part. After all, it was someone in 1943, and it was at the end of his USO tour, and they were wearing one of the dancer's costumes. Close enough, right?
Upskirt Angle (ao3) - zetsubonna M, 315
Summary: Anon requested: During the war, Bucky gets his hands on a USO girl outfit, wears it, and makes Steve roleplay.

Please consider deleting content scraper apps and reading this in a browser so you won't be supporting dubious people who are collecting your information and repurposing my fics for their own personal gain.
What If Things Were Different (ao3) - ceealaina G, 1k
Summary: What if Bucky wasn't captured by Hydra, and instead was sitting in the audience with the rest of the 107th while Captain America took the stage?
In my head Steve and Bucky are so in love it's ridiculous, but it can be read as just two best friends if that's how you prefer it.

Note
It was the Fourth of July, and that meant that the Star Spangled Man show was doing something special. Not only were there two performances, but Steve was doing meet and greets for Captain America's birthday. The decorations were over the top and very Americana. There were even some cupcakes that people could pick up if they wanted. Virginia and the other chorus dancers and singers were doing meet and greets as well. The blonde went up to Steve with a smile and gave his arm a squeeze. "How are ya holding up?"
Steve was appreciating the brief break from being inundated with Captain America fans. This whole event felt surreal. Generally speaking Steve liked being on the USO tour. He liked the girls he was performing with. He did like the attention he got from fans. He loved Virginia. It wasn't what he had wanted when he signed up for the army, and if he was giving the chance to actually go to the frontlines and fight, he'd take it in a heartbeat. But this made him feel like a puppet. He wasn't Steve Rogers. He was just a character performing a role and trying to make it seem real.
He jumped when Virginia touched him, completely lost in his own little world. "Oh," he said, blinking when he saw it was her. He put his hand on the middle of her back and rubbed it. "It's a lot, isn't it? People keep wishing me a happy birthday. It's not even my birthday."

Feeling Sneaky Peeky...
I'm in a bit of a writing slump this week (due to a book hangover). So I felt I'd share a peek into one of my WIP's from one of my ongoing series. Today I felt like sharing from Sandalwood, Leather, Mead & Honey. My Thor/Bucky/Steve Rogers x POC!Singer!Reader "Honey" series.
Under the cut you'll find a sneak peek for installment 5: (divider by @firefly-graphics)
I'm a sucker for a shot of dopamine straight to the bloodstream
Tumblr media
Fiending for Honey GC
Thor: Video attachment (Honey with a drunken Val dancing and singing to Bohemian Rhapsody on the bar. Getting the whole Asgardian filled tavern to sing along at the top of their lungs. Seems you've got the whole place to harmonize and are directing them like a chorus. It's a magnificent watch.)
Steve: Is she on the bar?
Bucky: More importantly is V dancing AND singing with her on it?
Thor: She has the entire Tavern under her spell.
Bucky: As they should be. Enticing little thing. Wish we were there instead of stuck doing all this press crap.
Steve: I'm usually happy doing press but I think I may be coming down with some FOMO.
Thor: What is FOMO??
Bucky: Fear Of Missing Out.
Thor: Understood.
Steve: Enjoy your time at home with her Thor.
Bucky: Because once you make it back home she’s not leaving our side for days. Gonna make her the filling in a super soldier sandwich.
Thor: You’ll find no objections here. I’ll more than make sure to get my fill while I have her to myself.
Steve: Don’t go too overboard. We need her to be able to at least walk.
Bucky: Actually I’m fine if she needs to be carried around.
Steve: Smh. It’s time for us to get back to doing interviews. Give our girl extra love from us.
Bucky: And an extra swat on the ass from me specifically.
Tumblr media
“May we sing for your fallen? It would be our honor to offer a tribute.” You kindly ask the grieving widow sat idly at a table surrounded by loved ones.
The maiden looks to Thor sitting at the head of the table before answering. “It would be an honor to receive such an offering, milady.”
You whisper into Sy’s ear the song you wish to sing as you make your way over to the small altar set up for the fallen warrior. You take a deep breath, squeeze his hand and begin to sing.
Carry me home when the light in my eyes does fade Carry me home when the shadow comes to take me away Lay down my bones knowing I'll be in a better place Release my soul, carry me home Carry me home there's no sorrow down in the ground Carry me home don't you weep for I am freedom bound Lay down my bones there is peace within the light I've found Release my soul, carry me home
By now the tavern has filled with the rhythmic tapping of Stein’s on wood, keeping beat with Sy’s fist drumming against his chair. Your eyes are closed and you let the music take over. It sounds very close to something Thor would have grown up hearing when honoring their fallen warriors.
He can’t take his eyes off of you, once again a siren in her element. Offering the gift of her voice to escort the fallen on their journey to the afterlife. It was the final piece he needed to see before he formally asks for your hand in marriage.
It is not long now, until your hand is fasted with mine. I will need to discuss this with Rogers and Barnes first, but fear not, you will become not only be my Queen but New Asgards as well.

This is a post I made a long time ago but I want to redo it now that I have actual followers.
This is based of a post I saw somewhere with the avengers competing over best theme song with captain America winning by playing the American national anthem. This is what I would have added if I could.
Throughout this competition Thor had been mysteriously absent. In conjunction with this, the Bifrost had appeared multiple times to take seemingly random things. A sound mixer, an expert music editor, some manuscripts dug up from an ancient Scandinavian tomb dating back 1000 years, a remote camera which had been investigating some newly discovered underwater trenches, and a music band stage which the band had thankfully just left. A few days after Steve Rogers victory, a very excited Thor arrived with a music drive, refusing to explain what was on it. Avengers tower shook with the sound of bilgesnipe horn blows, and the rythmic drumming of Asgardian percussionists. Then the singing started, multiple deep voices chanting a chorus in Old Norse, with a little girl of unknown species taking centre stage. When translated, the lyrics were revealed to be about the time Thor battled an Elder Kraken for 3 days straight, including being used to scrape out 3 underwater trenches, all to protect a small fishing village. Needless to say, he won the competition.

Steve Rogers and T Swift? Sign me up. Count me in.
The way you start this fic off making me want to fight random strangers I don't know and will probably never see again. Sometimes violence is the answer but I'm glad that Steve is a nicer man than I would ever be 😤
As he walked the last few steps up to the tower, Steve had already made his decision. -> the way that I am metaphorically banging my fists against the glass, trying to stop him even though he cannot hear me. I'm weeping 😭
"I just, I don't think we should stay together. I wish I had more to say, but that's it." Steve cut straight to the bone, his own heart breaking. Still, he thought it was for the best. -> NOOOOOOOOO 😭😭😭
In his eyes, it proved his point. Two and a half weeks without him and you were already releasing music. Something you hadn't done in the two and a half years you'd been together. -> the way I simply just want to shake Steve by his shoulders. My man!!! You're missing the point!!!!! I'm yelling!!!!!!!
He left no room for conversation, the glare on his face deterring any small talk. -> I love Steve more than anything in the world but there is something about the thought of him being sad and grumpy that I also love despite wanting him to have good things lol
but he was glad to hear she was doing well- whoever she was. -> the way this made me chuckle. It just. It feels so very much like Steve. Adore.
This was something you'd told Steve over and over. Every time he felt unsure of being in this time, you said "I would love you in any life, Steve. Any life. I'm just glad you found me in this one." -> my HEART 🥺🥹🥺🥹
You could feel the tears building through the second chorus and the bridge, but the third chorus really broke you down. You didn't understand why Steve decided it was best to break up and never getting that closure was taking its toll. You couldn't stop the few tears from falling, the notes that followed uncharacteristically wobbly. -> the way my heart just fucking HURTS for her 😭😭😭😭
God the way I'm hugging Gina and kissing her on the forehead for giving Steve the hookup. My girl. She gets it.
Not just in not explaining, but in deciding I knew what was best for you. In thinking I was doing the right thing by giving in to my fears. -> we love to see a man who can own up to his mistakes. Nodding in approval even through the tears currently streaming down my face
You knew it was 13 songs expressing different kinds of love for him, but you would let him sweat it out for the next 57 minutes. -> YESSSS. God. I love her. I love them. Kicking my feet and grinning. We love to see a couple make up 🥹🥹🥹🥹
Timeless

"I just don't get it," Steve overheard the young women talking while waiting in line for coffee. "She could literally be with anyone and she's gonna pick some old guy who literally fought in World War II?" He already had an idea of where this was going, but the response confirmed his fears.
"I know! Like Steve Rogers is hot but that's so weird! He's like 100 years old," she scoffed.
"A man out of time and probably out of touch," the first replied. "I bet he's totally holding her back."
Steve decided to forgo his coffee, simply turning around and leaving before things could get more awkward for him. Dating you has actually been when he's felt most at home in this century, but that doesn't mean he no longer struggles with his new present day.
Hardly a day goes by without you or someone else having to explain something to him, whether it be an insignificant reference to some tv show or more important information on how certain technology works. Suffice it to say, he feels like his age does show. It's something you've talked about in your relationship, but clearly, something Steve still struggles with.
He decided to walk back to the tower using the time to really think about what was best for you in terms of being with him. The first day the two of you met had been a particularly bad one for Steve, but somehow you managed to cheer him up. You've basically been inseparable since.
The more he thought about it, the more sure he was that those women were right. He was holding you back. You spend so much time with him, and at the tower in general, that you haven't really been living the same way you were before.
Before you met Steve, you had just finished your first world tour. You were always traveling or in and out of the studio. Now, you spend all your time in New York and you haven't had so much as a single performance outside of New York in the two and a half years you've been with him.
As he walked the last few steps up to the tower, Steve had already made his decision.
-
You were practically bouncing up and down on the couch as you waited for Steve to get home. After months of writing and recording in the home studio Tony set up for you, you could finally surprise Steve with some new songs. The one you were most excited about hadn't even been recorded yet. You were just too excited to share the lyrics to wait.
You couldn't help but reminisce as you waited, thinking about the first time you'd ever met. After your tour, all you wanted to do was go home and sleep, but Tony had personally invited you to his latest gala and your manager really pushed for you to go. Turns out, it was the best decision of your life.
The sound of the door opening down the hall broke you out of your daydream. The telltale sounds of Steve hanging up his jacket and tossing his keys in the dish by the door confirmed your suspicions.
You nearly tripped over the coffee table in your effort to greet him, but the look on his face stopped you dead in your tracks. "Steve?" you asked. "Are you okay?"
He sighed in response, one hand running through his hair as he looked at the ground. After a few seconds, he managed to meet your eye, but it did nothing to ease the nerves you were now feeling.
"Did something happen?" you asked just as he spoke up.
"We should break up."
His words felt like a physical blow in the silence that followed. You leaned back into the arm of the couch, suddenly unsure of everything.
"What?" you barely breathed out the question. The emotional whiplash was too confusing to process this quickly.
"I just, I don't think we should stay together. I wish I had more to say, but that's it." Steve cut straight to the bone, his own heart breaking. Still, he thought it was for the best.
"Oh," you barely managed to reply, still reeling from the shock. "Um, okay. I'll just... I'll just go."
You walked blindly down the hall and out the door, not even considering what you would do with all of your things that were in the apartment. You didn't even grab your purse, so you couldn't realistically leave the tower. Instead, you headed straight for the studio.
It felt like if you were recording a song about Steve, you could pretend that conversation didn't just happen. You could live in the past for just another few hours before reality finally hit you.
You still had the music pulled up in the recording booth. You'd gone so far as to take out some of the most inspiring pictures that lead to this song. There were plenty of pictures of you and Steve, but also the old black and white photos you found in the antique shop.
Thankfully Tony set things up so you could record on your own if you wanted, so that's exactly what you did.
Down the block there's an antique shop and something in my head said stop, so I walked in...
-
Instead of facing your emotions head-on, you dove into your work. You recorded every song you had left for the album, only contacting your manager and the label when things were finished.
They had a few things to tweak, but the record was ready not even two weeks later. Since you'd already been teasing the songs on tik tok, your label agreed to a surprise release. Thirteen songs would be released at the end of the week.
With the album ready and the date picked, you switched focus to scheduling performances at award shows and TV interviews. Anything to keep you from the gutwrenching reality of your emotions.
- Steve wasn't doing much better. His mood was foul and everybody could tell. Seeing as you were avoiding everyone by staying in an apartment owned by your label, the team tried cornering Steve for information.
"What the hell happened with Y/N?" Nat finally asked when Steve brushed off the slightly less invasive questions about how he was doing. He simply shook his head, glaring at an unphased Natasha.
"Have you listened to her new album?" Sam asked, trying to break the tension before all hell broke loose.
Steve tensed at the mention of your music. He had not listened to it, but the mere existence sent him into a spiral. In his eyes, it proved his point. Two and a half weeks without him and you were already releasing music. Something you hadn't done in the two and a half years you'd been together.
"Just leave me alone," he all but begged. Listening to the songs he knew- or at least strongly expected- would be about him was too much to even consider. He shook off the questions with the sheer desperation in his eyes. Everyone could tell it was hitting him hard, but not knowing why they broke up made it difficult to try and help.
-
Things continued much the same for the next month. Steve avoided all things that reminded him of you. You worked every second you could, desperate to not have to think about how everything went wrong.
In those few moments when you had actually thought about Steve, you more than anything wanted to know why. It had gotten so far as to you hovering your finger over his contact, one split second from calling when your manager phoned you instead.
"Hello," you answered, desperately trying to hide the strain from your voice.
"They want you to perform at the Grammy's," your manager, Gina, wasted no time with pleasantries.
"Oh my god," you didn't know how to feel. "That's in three days!" This album meant so much to you, but it was entirely about falling and being in love with Steve. How could you perform one of your best love songs on one of the biggest stages in music with a broken heart?
"Do they want a specific song?" Somehow your mind kept working even though your heart was breaking all over again.
"You get to choose," Gina continued to gush, but you couldn't listen. Having to choose was almost worse. You managed to tune back in for the last bit of information. "I know it's weird because you're not nominated, but nobody expected Rihanna to have to pull out. The news is her baby is the picture of health though! Since this is so last minute, they need to know what song the day after tomorrow for scheduling purposes."
"I'll do Timeless," you blurted out. Having to make the decision would be the worst part, right? So now you can just prepare and deal with it.
"You sure?" she asked, wary of it being one of the most detailed love songs on the album.
"Yep!" The enthusiasm was easy to fake. You were excited to perform at the Grammy's, and this is the song you're most proud of. It'll be fine.
"I'll let them know! Check your email for the itinerary. Bye!" she hung up in a flash, leaving you alone with your thoughts again.
Steve's contact was still pulled up on your phone. It felt like it was mocking you. Of course, Timeless would be the song you blurt out in a panic. It was the one you were most excited for him to hear. You can't imagine he's listened to the album. He might not even know it was released. A Grammy's performance was the closest to a guarantee that he'd hear it.
Now you just had to practice singing as if it wasn't going to emotionally wreck you.
-
"We've been invited to the Grammy's," Tony burst into the room with no preamble.
"Who's we?" Sam asked, already planning the suit he would wear in his mind.
"Four of us, bird brain," Tony replied swiftly. "Normally I'd be all over this, but I promised Morgan I would build her big girl bed with her tomorrow, so I'm stuck. You all have to go."
Nat, Sam, and Bucky all seemed okay with the invitation, and in Sam's case mildly excited. Steve, on the other hand, scowled at Tony. He was only about 60% sure the Grammy's were for music, but if the 60% was right he would rather go on a mission in Antarctica than potentially be in the same building as Y/N right now.
"I don't wanna hear it, Capsicle." Tony read the look on his face. "Four of us have to be there, and as our fearless leader that means you. Friday will send the details." He walked out much the same way he walked in, with a dramatic flair that left no room for questions.
"I guess we're going to the Grammy's," Nat cut a look across the room to Steve, gauging his reaction.
"So we are," he mumbled, quickly leaving the room before anyone could ask him about you.
-
Getting ready in your apartment was the only thing holding you together. Gina came over early this morning to lay out the details of your dress, hair, makeup, and any last-minute accessory decisions.
"You ready for this?" she asked, buzzing with excitement. The car would be here to pick you up any minute.
"As I'll ever be," you shakily replied. Despite making the decision quickly, you'd yet to settle the reality of performing the song in front of a crowd with how it felt to record it alone in a booth.
"Well, you can shake off those last few nerves right now. You're gonna be amazing. Remember, you're toward the end of the show. I guess you'll be a break from the nominated artists just before they announce album of the year, okay?"
You merely nodded in response, still trying to get over the nerves. You followed her down to the car, going over the lyrics in your head. Repetition was your best bet to stave off any emotional outbursts during the actual performance.
-
Steve had barely said a word all day, choosing instead to just float through the day. He wore the suit presented to him with no questions asked. He followed the schedule Friday had given him to a tee. He left no room for conversation, the glare on his face deterring any small talk.
He looked up the list of performers in an attempt to see if Y/N would be there, but she wasn't listed. The only thing causing him worry was the "surprise guest" that had been invited to replace Rihanna, who had to pull out of performing because she had a baby a few days ago. The amount of detail about other people's lives on the internet still surprised Steve sometimes, but he was glad to hear she was doing well- whoever she was.
He managed to hold it together through the red carpet, hearing whispers from the crowds that strung his and your name together. That was one of the things that drew the two of you together. It may have been a different kind of attention, but you both had faces the general public might recognize. Being the center of attention was never the goal for either of you, so your relationship remained largely private.
"Weird that he didn't walk the carpet with Y/N..." one guest whispered. Steve's enhanced hearing meant he could still pick up the voices. It was almost as if he was involuntarily listening for your name and honing in on the conversation.
"I mean, they've always been private... unless, do you think they broke up?" the responder gasped. Steve felt his heartbeat increase, being the subject of rumors and gossip never sat well with him.
"But this whole album is so happy! Maybe she-"
Steve was pulled inside before he could hear the rest. Probably for the best, he thought. Now that he knew you were here, he needed to focus on avoiding you.
Apparently, that wouldn't be hard. He and his fellow Avengers assigned seats were much further back than the musicians that were invited or nominated. He could see you from his seat, but you were far enough away to basically guarantee no forced interactions.
He merely sat in his seat, greeting people as they stopped by to say hello, and waited for the show to start. The quicker this thing was over, the quicker he would be able to go back to avoiding his feelings.
-
Walking the carpet was an absolute dream. You only wish you could've been more present. You were still incredibly nervous for your performance, and the murmurs you heard about the Avengers being in attendance did nothing to help.
You just had to choose to believe that Steve wouldn't come tonight. Unless he was so unaffected by the breakup that he could be here without it being a problem, which was a scenario you needed to put out of your head. No thoughts of break ups or Steve. At least, not until the performance.
Finding your table was easy enough once you got inside, and refusing to look around may have seemed odd, but people could easily chalk it up to nerves. Not many new about your surprise performance, but everyone knew it was your first Grammy's ceremony You were on tour when you were nominated for Best New Artist, ultimately winning the award, but missing out on the ceremony.
Other artists stopped by and chatted for a few minutes until eventually the lights dimmed and the show began.
-
Before long, a stage manager was ushering you out of your chair on a commercial break and bringing you backstage to get ready. You hadn't had much choice when it came to your carpet look- a gorgeous pink dress with plenty of tulle- but your performance look was more customizable.
You chose a dark blue set with plenty of crystals sewn onto the fabric. It looked like the night sky, and if blue is Steve's favorite color so what. This was the exact vibe you'd dreamed up when you were writing the song, so it only felt right to perform in it.
Your hair and makeup needed minimal changes, so after a few touch ups, you were being ushered toward the stage. It seemed everything backstage was happening fast enough to leave no time for nerves.
"And now, our long awaited surprise performer! She has taken the world by storm with her surprise release, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw her nominated for next year's awards. Please welcome F/N L/N performing Timeless!"
You were already seated at the piano when the curtains were drawn back. Although the song wasn't a piano ballad on the album, it felt right for this performance. You wasted no time getting started once the cheers died down.
Down the block there's an antique shop and something in my head said stop, so I walked in. On the counter was a cardboard box and the sign said "Photo's 25 cents each."
They were some very literal opening lines, and unsurprisingly the memories were flooding through you. You were out walking around the city, trying to clear your head, when you stumbled upon an antique store. The photos on the counter were the very first inspiration for lyrics to the vague idea of a song.
Black and white, saw a 30s bride and two lovers laughing on the porch of their first house. The kind of love you only find once in a lifetime. The kind you don't put down. And that's when I called you, and it's so hard to explain, but in those photos, I saw us instead.
It was so easy to envision Steve in the 30s, you couldn't help but put yourself in these photos with him. Your lives would be so different if you'd met back then, but there wasn't a doubt in your mind that you would love him just the same.
And, somehow, I know that you and I would've found each other. In another life, you still would've turned my head.
This was something you'd told Steve over and over. Every time he felt unsure of being in this time, you said "I would love you in any life, Steve. Any life. I'm just glad you found me in this one." You really had to gear up for the first chorus. It had one of the most telling, and therefore nerve wracking, lines.
-
Even if we'd met on a crowded street in 1944, and you were headed off to fight in the war. You still would've been mine. We would've been timeless.
Steve was slack jawed as he listened to your song for the first time. The way you were able to take the little memories and build such a beautiful melody out of them astounded him. His emotions were suddenly overwhelming, and there was now way for him to runaway from them this time.
I would've read your love letters every single night, and prayed to god you'd be coming home alright. And you would've been fine. We would've been timeless.
It wasn't that far off from this reality. Anytime Steve was on a mission, he'd write you letters to read while he was away. After the first time, you started writing letters for him to take with him as well. Even if the two of you couldn't talk on the phone, you had something from the other to tide you over.
'Cause I believe that we were supposed to find this. So even in a different life, you still would've been mine. We would've been timeless.
There was that line about a different life again. Steve already felt like he was living a different life, and somehow you knew exactly how to express what he was feeling while simultaneously reassuring him of your own love.
I had to smile when it caught my eye, there was one of a teenage couple in the driveway. Holdin' hands on the way to a dance and the date on the back said 1958. Which brought me back to the first time I saw you. Time stood still like something in this old shop.
Steve could still easily picture the very first second he saw your face. He wanted to be anywhere but Tony's party, having just come back from a mission that was only moderately successful. They had saved the hostages, but the Hydra agents managed to escape. He wanted nothing more than to track them down and being at the party would only delay everything.
When Tony brought you around for introductions, he found the mission had slipped entirely from his head. You somehow managed to lighten the mood without knowing why he was so grumpy, earning an uncharacteristic laugh from Steve still in Captain mode.
It was no surprise to anyone at the party when the two of you spent the rest of the evening together. Sitting at the bar, or the rare slow dance meant you could continue the never ending conversation.
Steve found himself so lost in thought, he missed most of the second verse and chorus. It wasn't until Bucky nudged him that he refocused on your words.
-
We're gonna be... I'm gonna love you when our hair is turnin' gray. We'll have a cardboard box of photos of the life we've made. And you'll say, "Oh my, we really were timeless."
You could feel the tears building through the second chorus and the bridge, but the third chorus really broke you down. You didn't understand why Steve decided it was best to break up and never getting that closure was taking its toll. You couldn't stop the few tears from falling, the notes that followed uncharacteristically wobbly.
-
We're gonna be timeless, timeless. You still would've been mine. We would've been... Even if we'd met on a crowded street in 1944. You still would've been mine. We would've been...
Steve could hear the tears in your voice easier than he could see them. His moment of weakness was haunting him as his own tears started to fall. He brushed them away quickly, forcing himself to hold it together until you were done.
Down the block there's an antique shop and something in my head said stop, so I walked in.
It was clear to him now more than ever that he was so wrong. He let his insecurities get the better of him, and messed up the single greatest thing that had come from being in this century.
With the show nearly over, he didn't think anyone would notice his absence. Instead of returning to his seat at the end of the commercial break, he slipped out a side exit. He wanted nothing more than to talk to you, but had no way of finding you.
"Steve!" He turned at the sound of a familiar voice calling his name. To his surprise, your manager was standing just a few feet away. "She left right after the song, said she's too tired for the afterparty."
Steve nodded, unsure why she was telling him.
"Here's her current address. Code to the elevator is 0704," she winked, passing him a slip of paper. Understanding dawned on him, and he wanted to scream.
"Thank you, Gina. Really," he managed to control the maelstrom of emotion, subtly slipping outside as quickly as he could. He was meant to ride home in the hired car with the rest of the Avengers, but your address wasn't too far from the Garden. He opted to walk, slowly transitioning into a run as his desperation grew. The flash of cameras followed him down the street, but with his speed he outpaced them quickly enough. He had one thing on his mind and one thing only, fixing things with you.
-
The pounding on your door scared you more than you'd care to admit. Nobody should be able to reach this floor without the code, but still. The knocking had an air of desperation that you wouldn't expect from anyone visiting right now. Gina was the logical choice, but was skipping the afterparty that big of a deal?
You had planned to double check through the peephole, but before you reached the door, the very last voice you'd have expected sounded clear through the door.
"Y/N? Gina, she gave me the code. I just, I need to apologize. I... I fucked up." He stalled, in nearly as much disbelief as you at hearing the words fall out of his mouth.
You swung the door open, gesturing for him to come in. You didn't trust yourself to speak. Hell, you barely trusted yourself to look at him. Once you both settled on the couch, you finally risked a glance.
Steve looked more distraught than you'd ever seen him, but his lack of explanation still left you reeling. He seemed to be at a loss for words himself until you looked at him.
"We really are timeless, huh?" he tried easing into things, instantly regretting his choice of words when you nearly vaulted off the couch.
"Steve, what the hell? You break up with me with no explanation and show up quoting my own lyrics to me?" your words lacked the anger you wished you could express, too raw from the performance to cover the dimensions of hurt. The tears were quick to return to your eyes as Steve slowly approached you.
He grabbed your hands in his and when you showed no signs of pulling away, tried again. "I made the biggest mistake of my life that day. Not just in not explaining, but in deciding I knew what was best for you. In thinking I was doing the right thing by giving in to my fears.
"You are single-handedly the greatest person I've ever known. And I overheard these women saying you could have anyone and do anything... I managed to convince myself that you deserved more. To pretend like breaking up with you was noble and not because I was afraid you'd come to the same conclusion as them"
"Steve," you shook your head, a few tears falling. You were at a loss for words. For the last two months, you thought he just fell out of love with you. His reasoning, although flawed, was reassuring. Still, it didn't undo the hurt he caused.
"I should've known better. And I can't undo what I've already done, but I can promise to never doubt you again. To come to you with my insecurities and listen to your voice when mine isn't strong enough. And I hope I can be that person for you in life- to reassure you when you feel lost." He took a deep breath before continuing, "I love you and if you'll have me again, I want to be timeless with you."
You could feel yourself squeezing his hands tighter and tighter as he spoke, trying to funnel the overwhelming emotions into physical exertion instead of tears.
"I love you too," you whispered, voice breaking on a fresh wave of tears. You wrapped your arms around him, letting him lead you back to the couch. You still had a lot to discuss, but right now, you just wanted him to hold you.

Bonus:
A few hours later, after many discussions about ignoring gossip and coming to each other with your problems, Steve finally managed to work up the nerve to voice once more question.
"Is the rest of the album about loving me, or is there a breakup song on there? Because I can handle it, but I might need some warning."
You stared at him for a beat before the question really sunk in.
"You haven't listened to any of it?" you confirmed. When he nodded, you just smirked. "While, I guess you'll find out right now then."
You knew it was 13 songs expressing different kinds of love for him, but you would let him sweat it out for the next 57 minutes.
