OMG I loved the daddymatsu headcanon you made, I totally loved it! Hey, I hope you don't mind, but could you please make a similar headcanon, but with the Mafia!Daddymatsu? , where they come home stained with blood and when they were about to go wash themself, their kids see him, and because of their innocence they think that their parents are hurt and they run around the house worried calling for their Mother saying something like "Mommy, mommy! daddy is hurt! He needs bandages and kissys!" , when in reality the blood is not even his father's *wink*

Ugh, he needed a shower. Fresh blood stained his suit as he walked through the door of his home, eager to wash this shit off and climb into bed with you. What he wasn't expecting, however, was his son running up to him with open arms, "Yay, dad's home!" Osomatsu was taken aback, he was supposed to be in bed by now! Before his son could hug him, the child stopped, taking a few steps back as he saw the crimson life essence staining his wear. Osomatsu cursed himself mentally, shit he wasn't supposed to see this. He promised you and his son that he wouldn't get involved with this mafia bullshit. Before he could say anything, his son called out to you while pointing his small finger at his father, "Mamma! Dad's hurt, he needs bandages for his boo-boos!" Osomatsu blinked in surprise as you came running in with a first-aid kit and a confused look, sighing in relief as you figured out what was happening. Before your son went to bed, the rest of the night was spent with your son bandaging your very confused and relieved husband with bandages he didn't even need.

karamatsu: He tried so hard to keep this life away from his precious little girl, not wanting her to have any part in it whatsoever. And that included making sure the job was done as quickly and cleanly as he possibly could. But all it took was one slip-up and the haunting feeling he ruined his baby girl's innocence forever. He entered the house trying to get to the shower as quickly as he possibly could, quickly saying he was home, darting for the master restroom. Of course, he wasn't fast enough to outspeed an excited little girl as he heard her tiny footsteps following him down the hall, "Yay! Daddy's home!" His heart jumped at the sound of her voice, not even having time to react as she crawled from under his legs to face him, her happy face turned into an expression of fear as she saw her father covered in blood. This was it, all his fears were recognized as he felt his world crumble before him. Tears started to roll down her face, "Mommyyy! Daddy's hurt!" Although he felt a wave of relief that she didn't realize he had injured someone, Karamatsu panicked, "No no no my precious firefly! Daddy is alright! No need to call for mommy, we just need to wash away the boo-boos!" She hiccuped as her eyes looked up into his, "O-Ok..." Karamatsu and his daughter then bandaged him up together, even if he didn't need them but he kept up the illusion so she didn't know whose blood it really was.

choromatsu:

"Damn it..." He muttered to himself as he fixed his cuffs, it wasn't like him to botch up the job this badly. He was coming home from a fight that had broken out, he and his brothers came out unscathed but not clean. Blood was all over him as he entered the door, the house quiet as he took off his shoes. "I'll have to clean this tonight." Taking off his suit jacket, he headed for the laundry room but first made a pit stop at his daughter's bedroom. Cracking the door open, he saw the small toddler sleeping soundly as a warm smile spread across his face. He closed the door and sighed, too tired to even notice that the little girl had woken up and followed her father to the laundry room. He heard a small gasp behind him, making him freeze as he quickly turned around. Damn it! She can't see him, not like this, it will surely give the impression he killed someone, and having his daughter know that made him wanna scream! "Y-young lady, you should be in bed!" He whisper-yelled, not wanting to wake you up. "B-But daddy, you're hurt! You need bandages and kisses for your boo-boos!" "E-Eh?" His daughter ran up to him and took a very confused Choromatsu by the hand, "We're gonna go get mamma!" "WH-WHAT?! NO NO NO!"

ichimatsu:

His cat-like reflexes had filed him this time, he should have realized sooner he had passed them on to his daughter. Ichimatsu decided to make a run for it as soon as he reached the front door of your home, knowing his daughter would still be awake when he entered the door. He darted straight for the master restroom, ignoring your welcome. He made a mental note to explain to you what was going on later, but for now, all his mind could focus on was making sure his baby didn’t see him like this. He almost reached your bedroom door before his cat ears popped from his hair, flickering as he heard a small giggle from above. He looked up to her usual hiding place on the top of the bookshelf, damn him and his dumbass self. He should have known that was where she was. She had jumped down, Ichimatsu making sure he had his arms open to catch her so she wouldn’t fall. “Yay! Papa’s home! Papa’s– …Home…” Her tiny voice faltered as she looked at his clothes. Shit! He knew it was all over from there, soon enough she would hate him for all of this and she’ll move out when she’s eighteen with a boy and never come back and– “Papa! You’re hurt!” “Ehh?” His thoughts were interrupted as she placed her small hand on his chest, “You’ve got a lot of boo-boos! We need to bandage them!” She jumped down on all fours from his arms as she led him to you, “Mamma! Papa needs kisses and bandaids! He’s hurt!” Your husband looked at you with a surprised stare, keeping that expression as the two of you “bandaged” him.

jyushimatsu:

He walked home, blood-stained bat in hand, his signature smile never leaving his face as he thought of you and his son. Thoughts of the day he was born filled his head as his heart swelled with pride, walking through the front door of his house and yelling, “I’m home!” You yelled back your welcome from the kitchen as he looked around the room for his son. Nowhere to be found, good. The last thing he needs is for his boy to see him covered in someone else's blood. He made his way towards your bedroom as he stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes looking off towards the side as he heard plastic tricycle wheels roll up from behind him. Ah shit… “Hi dad, I had so much fun at school today! We did finger painting and read books and played games and–” His small child’s rambling was interrupted as he saw the back of his father's suit painted in blood. Jyushimatsu’s smile faltered when he heard his son’s voice die down, making the mistake of turning around for his son to see he was covered in more blood. Tears ran down the poor boy’s face as he got of his tricycle and ran up to his father. “No, don’t cry! Boeh!” Jyushimatsu attempted to make funny face gags in an attempt to get him to laugh, it didn’t really work though as his child cried louder. “Wahhhh! Dad’s hurt!” Huh? Well, he certainly wasn’t expecting that response. His child ran around the house shouting, “He needs bandages! My dad needs bandages!” Right on cue, you ran into the room with the bandages as your husband looked at you with a surprised expression. The both of you decided to go along with your son’s thinking as to not ruin his innocence. Maybe one day, you’ll tell him this story.

todomatsu:

Ew, he needed to get into the bath ASAP. He cursed to himself that he would miss putting his baby girl to bed as his baths normally take about an hour and she would already be in bed by then. Todomatsu always made sure to get home before then but today he was sloppy with his work. So sloppy that he ended up being covered in enemy blood. Luckily, his daughter wouldn’t have to see him like this so maybe her being in bed already was a blessing in disguise. Ready to come in and kiss you as you welcomed him home, he trudged through the door lazily shouting (not too loudly) that he was home. It had been a long day, all he needed was a warm relaxing bath and maybe a cuddle session or two with you if he was still awake by then. However, his thoughts were interrupted by his little girl’s squeal from the other room as he froze in place. Shit, shit, shit, shit, shiiiiit! You decided to let her stay up tonight so that she could see him, usually, that wouldn’t be a problem but on tonight of all nights, he could perish right there and right now. “Daddy! Daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, daaaaddy!” The small girl shouted as she ran around the corner from the living room, eyes closed as she squealed in delight once more. Aww, she was so cute! Wait, focus! Bath, now! “Not right now princess, daddy needs a bath!” He tried to escape from her, he really did but it all fell apart when he felt a tiny hand grab his own. “Daddy, you’re covered in blood…” SHIIIIIT! His face froze in terror as she tugged on his arm once more, “You’re hurt daddy, you need bandages right now! Moooommy!” “What?! No! Don’t call for your mother!” You ran in with bandages as you looked in confusion at the sight, laughing slightly as you helped your husband take off all his “bandages” later that night after your daughter went to bed so he could finally take his well-deserved bath.

so a while back i learned that there was an episode of osomatsu kun where chibita and osomatsu compete to be prima donnas in iyami's ballet and it got me thinking: what if osomatsu continued and all the brothers became dancers?

so i came up with different types of dance i thought they would get into, but then i found out that theres already an official art with them as dancers!

so I'm gonna compare my hcs with what the staff came up with

Osomatsu:

ok so ballerino oso is extremely disciplined when it comes to ballet, but nothing else in his life.

he's a very charismatic and energetic dancer, he takes up roles like basilio from don quixote and romeo

he used to make perverted comments about the girls costumes in high school and he got reprimanded so badly that his instructor threatened to drop him. he never made a comment like that again.

he still gets in trouble for sneaking drinks and fatty food after performing though

he loves taking up upbeat roles, but his instructor challenges him to channel his emotions into darker roles, he understands that osomatsu has always been a troubled person.

when he gets angry with his brothers, instead of shutting down like he does in the anime, he goes to the studio and practices for days.

the ballerinas in his company warn new students about him "yeah he's a pervert and lazy, but he's a decent guy on stage so don't worry about dancing with him"

Karamatsu:

ballroom, the drama, the emotion, the chemistry, the ROMANCE THE SPARKLEEESSSSS karamatsu loves ballroom dancing.

He specializes in latin ballroom dancing, but can do standard as well

his instructors get mad at him because he loooves to improvise and give his partner an extra twirl and an extra lift when he can

he always ends up falling in love with his partner, he can't help it! "heh, dance and love are the same" he says.

his parters always end up almost crushing on him back, but recoil when they interact with him outside the studio

they're put off by him and his painfulness, but ultimately love dancing with karamatsu. his energy is infectious and always makes for a great show

they get annoyed with him sometimes though, he tends to like to steal the show

he will always find a way to incorporate blue sequins or glitter into his dance wear, his choreographer will literally monitor him until the day of the competition and somehow an hour before it starts he's covered his suit sequined stars (i couldn't find good gifs for him but the couples in this video are exactly how i imagine it)

Choromatsu:

ohhh choro is a tap dancer, and a pretentious one at that

he wanted to be the one to do ballet because it demands a lot of discipline, but ultimately he wasn't athletic enough

he loves tap though and he'll physically fight anyone who makes fun of tap

he mostly does solo choreo because he gets nervous dancing with girls

oh, but if it's group choreo he'll be that guy that'll correct people if they're making a mistake

when people started getting mad at him, he started doing that thing that theater kids do "choreographer, it's supposed to be your left foot on that beat right? ok thanks, just making sure" and looks at you

the people in his studio think he's annoying, but ultimately respect him as a dancer

he works extremely hard, he'll practice every single day and make sure every beat is perfect

he makes his own tap choreo to nyaa chan songs and does them at her concerts

wow it's so much harder to find good tap dancing gifs that you would think, just watch this

Short headcanons

At first Osomatsu won’t understand, and will fall into a wild stupor when you just hug him.  he'll make a joke like, "Ooohh shit, haha! you really like me, don't you?" but when you kiss him on the cheek, it won't be so easy for him. But when he learns about the traditions of your country, he will laugh awkwardly, scratching his nose with his index finger in a familiar gesture. but he will still be a little awkward to hug you and kiss you on the cheek, after all, he has never had such intimacy with beautiful girls like you.

Karamatsu will be taken by surprise, because he has never hugged strange girls! he will try to regain the look of a confident hot guy, but he will look like a red awkward virgin. Having learned that you are from another country, he will understand and try to get used to your unusual friendliness and will also begin to joyfully greet you with hugs. in fact, he likes this feature about you, yet he rarely gets to hug someone. (PLEASE HUG HIM OFTEN HE DESERVES BETTER)

Choromatsu is the worst option of all. He literally goes crazy with your every touch, which highlights the fact how much of a virgin he is. He will try to stop reacting this way when he learns about your country, but he still finds it difficult to accept your hugs and kisses sometimes.

For Ichimatsu, these would be the most awkward moments of his life. when an attractive girl hugs and kisses him, he feels cornered. he will also try to respond to hugs in a friendly manner, but at first he will most likely avoid you, hide, and simply be afraid. It will take a long time until he starts to get used to it.

for Jyushimatsu it... doesn't matter? Seriously, this guy is definitely up for hugs and friendly kisses himself. Of all the Matsunos, the 5th brother has the most normal reaction. You can tell that he will be delighted when he learns about your traditions and will begin to ask more. From the moment he learns this fact, Jyushimatsu hugs you in greeting more often, and this is the norm for both of you.

Todomatsu immediately knew this fact, after all, from the very first meeting, he scrolled through all your social networks, looked through all your photos and extracted every information from you, as usual, using the cute face of an innocent little devil. He will make the most of this fact, never missing a chance to hug you with an innocent giggle and smell your hair while the rest of his brothers glare at him and want to kill him. I do not advise trusting a Matsuno like Totty. he knows exactly what he's doing.

He knows he definitely cannot afford you tho - so he might pull off the same stunt he did for Chibimi and just about sell his soul to get a date with you. (Honestly when I think of all the characteristics you describe matched with Oso I think of @girlymatsu ‘s oc Erina-chan who is super cute and fun, please check them out, you can tell they put a lot of love in their art and you'll absolutely love their oc)

Karamatsu sees your fashion sense and instantly wants to be the Ken to your Barbie. You have this it girl factor that draws him in and with the sway of your hips and the wink of your pink, glittery shadowed eye, he’s completely under your spell. If you so choose to give him the time of day, he pays you compliment after compliment, and will take you out on a date to get coffee or a nice meal depending on what you’d like. If we’re talking about a classic bimbo trope where you’re a little on the less well-read side, then he might find it cute that you don’t really know how to pronounce some of the words of the meals or coffee drinks and he’ll try to use the opportunity to teach you some fancy words. You actually find his poses and flowery speech kinda funny, because he sounds like a poem out loud.

Choromatsu has no idea how you're even talking to him right now. He's seen you plenty of times and never ever imagined you would even say two words to him other than like... "Excuse me" if he was standing in your way. You are so far removed from all the things that encompass his life. Yet when you tell him that his favorite has super cute outfits and that you were thinking about becoming one yourself because you love the idea of all the glitz and glamour it brings, he short-circuits. You're already so gorgeous, to think of you being in cutesy outfits and dancing around? And he's allowed to talk to you? Associate with you??? The man is ready to die happy. But not as happy as when you dress up in his favorite idol's outfit - only it looks ten times better on you because your bigger chest and ass. While you don't exactly understand his love for anime, manga, and other more nerdy things, you humor him because he's just so cute when his little froggy face lights up the way it does!

Ichimatsu is intimidated entirely by you and will actively go out of his way to avoid you. You are like a beacon of light far too bright and undeserving for him to ever even get close to. Luckily for him, you notice one day that he's looking into the window of a cat cafe and you finally tap him on his shoulder and ask about whether he likes cats or not. It takes about everything he has not to throw up on the spot, but he is seriously questioning his life and whether or not some god above is about to smite him. You try to explain to him that you actually really love kitties as you point to your kitten paw choker and show him your baby pink matching kitten paw nails. At some point he realizes that you're not fucking with him and he slides out of fight or flight mode and into general nervousness. It takes a while before you can actually get him to speak (you're literally such a bombshell against his disheveled-ness, he feels very grateful that he's conscious enough to give you short answers instead of fainting like his body wants him to), but you eventually give him your number. When you part ways, then he slumps to the ground, but with the tiniest of smiles on his face.

Jyushimatsu actually makes you nervous. It's very clear that you're super attractive and bubbly, but there is a genuine sweetness to him that makes him stick out from all the other meatheads who try to normally get your attention. The yellow clad matsu isn't very subtle about staring at you and your appearance, but you honestly don't mind it when he says things like "Your hair reminds me of the sun!" or "You look like a pretty pink cloud today, haha!" The guy is just so adorable it makes you giggle. And when he smiles right back (even bigger than his usual grin), it makes you blush a bit. You end up leaving lipgloss on his cheeks all the time because you just find him so cute.

Todomatsu can't get enough of you once he gets to know you! You two feed off of each other's cutesy personalities. And since pink is both of your signature colors, you guys end up matching outfits a lot. Though the price to pay with you two being so matchy-matchy is that everyone else literally cannot stand being around you two lol. But that's fine to either of you because you both just chalk it up to them being rude and jealous and you pay it no mind...it's either that dynamic orrrrr you end up hating each others guts because only one of you can be the cutest in Akatsuka. Though that scenario ends up in an enemies to lovers situation because even though Todomatsu says he can't stand you - he definitely admits to himself (and only to himself at first) that you are positively gorgeous and the only person worthy of being at his level of pretty in pink.

when you two get together though, those nerves definitely subside and go away! he loves you with every fiber of his being! he definitely tries to make a good impression around your many friends and of course, they all approve! at first it was questionable but his antics and romantic gestures showed them that he means well!

one thing i think he ADORES though, are your outfits.

I think he's neat, and that there's more to him than just "cute evil baby". I do not have a single idea of how to write him. I've been so focused on Choro my whole writing career that I do not know for my life how Totty would respond to anything. Can I get some Todomatsu headcanons/writing tips please?

Osomatsusan headcanons cause I’m bored

This is more on a take on them in a more psychological/meta pov on them.

Osomatsu

-He’s still irresponsible as the show states repetitively, but I think there’s a deep under layered of anger issues. Maybe feeling like he’s stuck being unemployed and can’t change his life, or feels like his feelings are put on the sidelines.

-oso secretly very stressed but hides it by playing it down. Being the oldest but not the most matured may be a result of him trying to get some control of himself or over small things.

-He acts sexist and pervs on girls on the regular. I like incorporating the old show to the new one, specifically we’re oso was a ballerina,and wore womens swimsuits. So I like to think he secretly wants to be more feminine and dress feminine, but fears the shame or backlash of his family. He Avoids and projects his wants and desires in a more “masculine” manner instead.

-The problem with him at the root of it all is that he doesn’t want to change. He’s comfortable, he’s unfamiliar to change. Therefore he sees change as a threat.

-Oso’s anger makes him go quiet and visibly irritated. Storming off out of the house for a few hours before coming right back.

-He’s an alcoholic,smokes,gambles,unemployed,lives with his parents guy. He doesn’t want to change.

Karamatsu

-The most confident in himself. His fashion is questionable ofc but it shows how willing he his to present himself. Albeit his made up persona of himself.

-Kara is secretly the most matured. He uses his persona as a shield to deflect his brothers judgement. Later in more recent seasons you see him start to not use his persona less and less, and his brothers caught on it even,but when faced with the confrontation he gets aggravated and even intimidates his brothers when he gets mad.

-Kara’s more of a job hopper. Never keeping one and doing small gigs like street shows or helping Chibita with his business.

Choromatsu

-he tries to act better or more mature than he really is. Helps his mother with taxes and some small chores but he uses this to put himself on a higher horse in comparison to his brothers.

-wares a collared shirt under his hoodie kind of shit.

-he gets very defensive about very small things. Considered being more short tempered than the sophisticated role he tries to put up.

- he hides his love for anime and idols away from his brothers because he’s ashamed of himself for liking it. Although most already know because he buys copious amounts of merch and tickets for idol shows.

-though he does look after his brothers in a more keeping tabs sort of way than a mom would. Comment or would ask if they’d showered or brush their teeth that day then lecture them to do so. This does help some of them positively to keep somewhat of a schedule.

-I want to say he’d might want to work at a manga/anime shop or something, but I’d doubt it. he’d be too ashamed to work at one. He feels like degenerates or creeps work at manga stores. (Even though that’s verbatim what he is.) would maybe end up in a book/convince store ran by an old lady.

Ichimatsu

-he’s my favorite so take some of this with a grain of salt.

-he hides how he feels. His antisocial behavior and dislike of the general public is why he turned to cats.

-uses cats as a coping mechanism and hyper fixation. Shows some signs of being on the spectrum be he doesn’t want to know the diagnosis/ answer to what specifically he has. He feels like it’s searching for an excuse for the way he is. (Not in a ableist way but more in a learned helplessness way.)

-low hygiene. Either Smells like cat piss or just body odor. His depression not helping him at that, choro runs his mouth at him on the regular for this. But instead of picking up that he’s maybe depressed, he calls him lazy and gross for ‘sulking in his filth’.

- oso and ichi are more closer in a bond because of their similar nature. The only difference between them is that oso is more accepting and chill about his current state. While ichi is more pessimistic and hopeless in his. Giving each other nicknames to show there on good terms.

-gets small jobs at local restaurants. working at the back cleaning dishes and taking out the trash.

-looks after jyushi. Finding solace in his more cheerful enthusiastic nature to his pessimistic one.

Jyushimatsu

-autistic with adhd. dresses more for comfort than to present himself. Highly energetic with not much sense of social cues or sarcasm.

-he’s more of a good influence on the brothers by bringing them outside when he wants to go out, instead of being shut-ins. He helps them have more to do than gamble or drink.

-i like to think he’d have a long distance relationship with him and Homura. Like todo got him a Nokia so he wouldn’t break it and to call her now and then. It would give him some one positive to talk to and she’d have him to talk to.

-he likes to hang out with ichi on the regular. Help ichi get out of the house, and then go feed stray cats in ally’s.

-maybe he’d volunteer at daycare’s or babysit if he needed to work. Showing in some episodes that he’s good with kids.

Todomatsu

-The most put together. Has his job at a cafe in the city and usually has good luck when gambling on pachinko.

-Openly gay with his family. They weren’t too surprised and he wasn’t to scared about it either since he already dressed in more pink and flamboyant clothing,and having friends that are mostly girls.or fuck it he had friends period.

-The most social brother. He tried to bring some of his brothers to mixers but it didn’t end up too well. Either in their brothers getting them kicked out or in other times or his own exclusion.

-I feel like he could move out if he wanted he makes his own income to have a phone and can walk or take a bus to his job. Maybe own an apartment of some kind.

-this might also go hand in hand with the fact he’s scared to be alone. He’s never not been alone for so long that when he finally is, it scares him. It’s unfamiliar to him.

-in the episode were they all got tortured in hell we saw the demon read his dairy. It said he wanted to dress like a girl and be like a girl, then you see him almost cry from the embarrassment.

-I think he’s questioning in his gender,but is to scared to explore that part of himself yet.

I do feel like As much as they hate or irritate each other, a key reason they don’t move out minus the money or occupation, is that their all unconsciously codependent on each other. If they even wanted to move out, the thought/feeling of being alone is so out their comfort zone and unfamiliar they’d rather spend their lives with familiarity.

A biy and a girl! he would be the dad with one baby on his front, in a carrier and one on his back in a carrier so s/o can have a break from carrying whichever twin they had!

Also, im gona have a hot take: no one gives Osomatsu the credit he deserves and I will vouch for that man till the day I die. He would be one of the best dad's, and the dad that when you're older- and you're starting to learn about life, He would be right there to let you know he messed up alot along the way to where he is now, and that his kids gona be just fine.

mimi does in fact get along with normal people! you’ve read before mimi is super close with nyaa and even calls her nyaa-dono which she finds funny. mimi is also friends with dobuko and chibita, and speaks to atsushi on occasion. it’s a regular at sutabaa and aida and sacchi know it, too, though they were quite alarmed to see it come in with karamatsu on its arm of all people.

and of course it knows more people than that. it’s got employees that have employees that have employees. there might be more to that chain idk i haven’t thought about it enough.

guys i have a confession to make... and you have to hear me out...karatoto (karamatsu and totoko) is a fun pairing

in the context of the show, i would only want them to stay friends, if not besties. i think the writers actually like pairing them up for certain scenes bc they can rely on kara to be slightly more normal (relative to the other matsus) when interacting with totoko. like, when you really think about it they interact a lot in the third season... i honestly think she interacted with kara the most in season 3 besides nyaa and possibly osomatsu.

(these are not the best screenshots but trust me they talk to each other in all of these scenes, except the one where kara is a horse)

but thats actually not why i like them as a pair... the real reason is because i like messiness and i like drama and i like fun and i think a secret relationship between karamatsu and totoko would have all of those things

(the even realer reason is because i'm wildly and shamelessly biased towards karamatsu. it's just that simple)

see, the reason it would be so fun is because no one would expect it. everyone in the show probably thinks that if totoko were to end up with anyone, it would be osomatsu. and that's not an unfounded belief, i think they definitely do have the deepest and most complex relationship out of the 6 as the two "leads".

them getting together would kind of represent this grand, but ultimately linear shift in the status quo. the main character gets the heroine. shocker. but it kind of is a shocker in a show like osomatsu san, and its characters aren't really ready for that kind of "ending" per se. especially not osomatsu, who thrives and desperately clings to the status quo like his life depends on it. and ofc totoko is in a similar boat, where she finds herself yearning for simpler, more fun times.

but maybe totoko just wants to have a little extra fun! maybe she just wants to take a quick detour! is that too much to ask?? can't a girl have a little fling on the side?? why does everything she does matter so much as the heroine??? it sucks!!

it's too hard to go out and find a rich hot guy to have fun with. thankfully, she has 6 men who are already head over heels for her! so she finds herself weighing the pros and cons of each sextuplet.

osomatsu is... complicated, so he's out

choromatsu is an automatic no

ichimatsu is okay... but he seems like a guy who needs more care than she's willing to give

jyushimatsu is complicated in a different, much weirder way

todomatsu... todomatsu is definitely a viable option, but she wants someone who will only have eyes for her and she doesn't like how totty always has 2 girls by his side

karamatsu... karamatsu was never really an option in her mind but like, he's pretty nice! and honestly recently he's been much more normal than he used to be (season 1). his painfullness has decreased substantially since then. he also doesn't look half bad! he and todomatsu definitely take care of their appearance the most out of the 6. they've talked a decent amount and they even had that one skit together... ignition.

(side note, weirdly enough i think the karamatsu taxi skit makes him the only matsu to ever call a woman a b*tch... which is surprising to say the least and honestly detracts from this whole thing a bunch but i just thought it was so crazy...yikes kara)

but best of all, karamatsu is (seemingly) simple. and thats what she wants right now, a simple and easy and fun time. no baggage, no grand status quo changes, no needless effort. just a little fun with a guy she already knows likes her.

so she approaches him one day and asks him to carry her bags for her while she goes shopping. normal enough right? so karamatsu ofc is like "oh yeah i think i'm free but my brothers might be busy" and totoko's like "oh that's fine, you don't have to bring them" and karamtsu just says "sounds good, see you tomorrow!"

he walks home and it doesn't really hit him until he gets there... totoko chan just invited him somewhere to do something with him... alone.

but she's done that before! she asked if he wanted to watch her at her driving school, which he did alone. heh... it seems totoko is not a karamatsu girl yet, but he thinks he can win her over after tomorrow.

ok so i have more ideas for this, but honestly i don't really think theres an audience for karatoto but lmk if you guys are interested to hear the rest.

i just wanted to say that i really like your analysis of zaimokumatsu, it's very well thought out and i definitely think they're the most interesting pair because theres so little interaction between them. but like, the interactions they DO have say so much.

i don't 100% agree that totty HATES karamatsu, but I definitely think their relationship is the most strained by far. that being said, they do have very interesting moments in official content.

for example, in the 2019 anan movie book karamatsu says something along the lines of "the other day, totty told me "you've become a lot more honest" that's strange, i don't lie at all" in the same book, todo says that kara is the brother he admires the most because he never fights back after being beaten up.

according to people on jp twitter who went to an event for the movie, there was a cut scene where karamatsu felt like he was causing trouble for his bros and decides to go back to the past (ig the plot was different) and todomatsu says something along the lines of "tell me what you really think!"

i think it's their distance that allows todomatsu to really look at karamatsu with more clarity than the other duos, which gives rise to his complicated feelings towards him. on the other hand, kara kinda just lets his bros do whatever they want and lets things go really easily, but in return he closes himself off and doesn't really listen to them. i think karamatsu is just really distant from his brothers in general, so he doesn't have any specific complaints about anyone (todo included) besides osomatsu

This has me thinking, but I also like to point out that some of these moments are pre-s3e5! Which aired...god nov 10th, 2020. Its been four damn years 😭😭😭

I dont think karamatsu has any real localized animosity towards any of them, he doesnt hate ichimatsu, he doesn't even typically react to 110's physical bullying, the only one he tends to throw barbs at is Osomatsu, and sometimes he says a backhanded compliment to Choromatsu (i think kara just enjoys teasing him) but with 110, especially Totty there was never any like. Direct. Resentment.

Even when Todomatsu criticizes him, in many of the games Karamatsu is in friendly competition, or is just silly with him. There audio drama with Totoko is a good example of zaimoku's competition, as well as the one where Karamatsu is making excuses on why he cant talk to a girl.

I think Totty feels a lot of resentment towards Karamatsu bc he's authentically himself. Imo the read of Karamatsu secretly being super shy is kinda true, he def is timid but I think how he projects himself is how he truly is, and hes sick of hiding himself behind anxiety like in high school. However! Todomatsu isn’t ever himself, he isn't ever honest, and he tries very very hard to not be weird, be kind, be nonthreatening, be better than the rest of them, and despite Karamatsu often losing in canon due to his eccentricities he still beats Todomatsu. Because Todomatsu deserves to win, but ties.

In the host drama CD, Totty scored many points over but ended up tying, in the manga chapter where Osomatsu ranks their fashion I think either the same or Karamatsu wins for being interesting despite being dressed as a flower.

Even with the cashier, despite Todomatsu having more substantial reasons why he liked her, and the fact hes still pissed off about it being the biggest reason he bullies Karamatsu, they both got rejected. Imo, as a Totty fan, and knowing Todomatsu loses because he doesn't win, its very hard to watch. Todomatsu doesn't even get the added bonus of being more popular in real life.

I think for a long time Todomatsu respected Karamatsu for his resiliency and easy going nature, but personally I think his situation is a lot more sympathetic as someone who was told his entire life that he was Abel, and realized he was Cain.

Even other duos don't have the same mutual disinterest in each other. Osomatsu and Choromatsu default to each other, especially when they're both relaxed. Suuji has no real tension with each other aside from some brief friendly fire.

But Karamatsu doesn't seek out reconciliation with Todomatsu, and Todomatsu doesn't look for it either. I think their relationship had been strained since s1, but i wouldnt even consider them friends at this point. Theres the valentines skits from a few years back where Karamatsu was being very kind and a nice big brother towards Totty, who was so happy he was completely unguarded

But at this point, thats an anomaly of behavior. I think Todomatsu hates him because he should be better, seen as more attractive, smarter, cooler, harder working, more interesting and most importantly more popular than Karamatsu in every way. And he's not. In any way. He wins technically, he wins by his actions. And his victory is split in half because of Karamatsu's authenticity and charisma that others find literally annoying.

Imo its a very realistic development for someone like Totty who judges himself completely based on how others perceive him, and Karamatsu who has overcome the need for any one specific person's approval.

Its like seeing someone who rejected everything you learnt to not be, and seeing him succeed where you're failing.
