Title: Love your Little Shadow... I created this after a breakthrough in therapy. For anyone who's thinking about going to therapy, I say do it! My therapy journey started when I was 19. I desperately needed it after a breakdown at University led by a long depression. I stopped at 21 and then went back at age 25 as I was entering my first year in a Masters program in Dramatherapy. The second time was more surprising because I wasn't in crisis and I was surprised by the depth that arose out of me. I'm not going to lie, it was very painful. When you've been avoiding trauma, and difficult feelings in general, they don't go away; they just build. I finished therapy a couple years ago and I left feeling like I learned a great deal about myself. It positively affected every aspect of my life, professional and personal. I am more aware of my boundaries and what I need (where as I used to give way to much and feel resentful). This piece embodies self acceptance. I'm still learning and healing but the journey doesn't feel as scary as it once did. An imprint of my soul is definitely in this piece and I'm so happy to see it go to a home. Everyone needs this message in their life. Love all your parts.
