The second of the makeovers! It's the TE MC of @lover-also-fighter-also as a mermaid... It's mermay, so I had to turn at least one character into a mermaid! I tried to put a sun on her necklace since I saw the headcanon about how Anitha strung her mother's pendant onto a necklace, and I thought that was neat, so I tried to make one! I leaned into a sunny colour scheme, as well. I hope you like it!

Samara is Water-Attuned! 💧💙

(Quoted from here) Short Version: Water-Atts are most known for their composure and fluidity. Make the time to center yourself when practicing your magick. Long Version: Water-Atts are most known for their composure. Just as water flows, Water-Atts are quick witted and adapt easily and with grace. These attuned can sometimes succomb to their insecurities, seeing themselves as too fluid, and find it difficult to process their rush of emotions. It is important that you make time to center yourself when practicing your magic.

I'd say a Water-Attunement is very accurate for Samara.

Samara has a tendency to avoid conflicts as much as possible, due to having grown up with a toxic mother and then a borderline abusive mother. The arguments, fighting, etc. tend to be triggering for her and she can be quite prone to breakdowns. When it comes to fight-or-flight, she is almost entirely flight, and she sometimes has trouble accepting that conflict is an inevitable part of life.

Of course, if you piss her off just enough, she can become fight, and trust me you don't wanna fuck with that. She's an experienced wrestler.

That being said, I think Samara is actually pretty good at maintaining her composure and being able to adapt. She hates dwelling on the past and is always looking for ways to move on from it. This is notably reflected when, both as per in-game choices, she advises Caleb to forget Zoe and she advises Michael to forget the past and move on.

Another notable example is the story of Samara's rainbow highlights. As a kid, Samara pulled her hair out as a coping mechanism for when her parents were fighting, and it caused a lot of damage. But one day, sometime during her middle school years, Samara saw an advertisement for rainbow highlights and thought they were pretty. Scott was willing to get her that treatment on the condition that she stopped pulling her hair out. Samara agreed, and also convinced him that if she had the rainbow highlights she'd be less likely to pull her hair out. In a way there's a circle of motivation there– she stops pulling her hair out to get the highlights, but she also gets the highlights to help her stop pulling her hair out.

Samara does not have a lot of insecurities, nor does she see herself as too fluid. On quite the contrary, she can be very stubborn and pedantic once she sets her mind to a certain belief. But she can become easily overwhelmed with emotion; again, she is often prone to emotional breakdowns and the occasional anger outburst.

And, again, she sometimes has trouble accepting that conflict is an inevitable part of life. The fact that she can adapt actually makes it more frustrating to her. Like the quote from Mr. Incredible "I just cleaned up this mess, can we keep it clean for 10 minutes!?".

According to assessment from all questions, Samara is Water-Attuned.

Water-Att sweeps in the score count. And the more I think about it, the more it really does fit her.

In the all-questions assesment, Samara also scores quite a bit for Air, Fire, and Metal.

Samara fits somewhat well with Air. Once she's regained her composure after a traumatic/emotional incident, she tends to think in strategy for "What is the best way for me to move on from this?". When Scott gave her the ultimatum for rainbow highlights, she was able to figure out rainbow highlights as a way to prevent her from pulling out her hair. She does have some trust issues and a tendency to isolate herself, but she can be very social with people she's close and trusting with.

Samara fits fairly well with Fire. As much as she tends to avoid conflict, she is also very pedantic about her beliefs. Especially if there's someone she knows and/or cares about in a bad relationship. This is especially shown with how, in the earlier stages of meeting Caleb, she could go on and on about how he should find better people than Brian and Zoe. Of course, she does have a lot of boundaries and knows when to back down for the most part.

Samara definitely fits quite well with Metal. Control is very important to her. And as mentioned before, she has a tendency to be very stubborn and pedantic, not easily swayed from her beliefs or her goals.

It somewhat checks out that Samara didn't score much for Earth and Wood. I find it somewhat strange that Samara didn't score much for Earth. She's sure-footed in her beliefs and goals, willing to put in the work to achieve them; but while change can be upsetting to her, most of the time she welcomes it in order to move on from things. And while Samara does have the capability for patience, her stubbornness and tendency for emotional breakdowns sometimes challenges this.

Overall, I feel like Water-Attunement is very fitting for Samara. I'm not sure I'd call it the most fitting, but it works well for her.

I know it’s been like 2 or 3 years now since the mass sequel cancellation but I’m still so mad we never got a third book for the elementalists because just IMAGINE if we got a book with two separate paths depending on what your morality was

Maybe I’m a sucker for evil MCs getting all the power in the world but I just want to imagine TE’s MC going absolutely hungry for power (if you chose the power morality route) and the Pend Pals are all just desperately trying to save them and UGH
