“Hey, where’d you buy these?” Eddie asks, finishing another chocolate-covered strawberry. They’re better than any he’s bought himself in the past.

“Oh,” Steve says. “I made them?”

Eddie freezes. “You made them?”

Steve nods, cheeks pink.

“Like, you bought strawberries and melted chocolate and then melted another chocolate to drizzle over top of them?” he asks, just to be sure he’s getting it right.

Steve nods again.

“Hmm, get over here.”

“Why?” Steve asks, already moving toward him.

“So I can kiss you,” Eddie says.

Steve grins as he reaches him and Eddie pulls him into a sticky, sweet kiss.

I literally forgot how badly they both got beat up by the Deadly Six before finally triumphing and sending them home but oh my word

Still, the way they're leaning on each other, hobbling to the door together, trying to make sure the other is alright, and still giving each other a fist bump despite being so obviously exhausted and hurt.

I'm just putting this out there (I'm not exactly great at explanations, but hear me out) - the last chapter in Leo's POV really made it come full circle. Without spoiling things, I kinda resonated with him? I mean, ha, I wasn't beat around by a blood-thirsty, pink bubblegum warlord and came out with insane amounts of trauma... But with how he struggled and verbalised it as not being sure how to ask for help and was internally conflicted on how and why he deserves help?? Yeah, that got me in the feels badly.

Personally, reading these types of fics can be triggering for me, but I pushed through because of how GOOD this story is. All I can say is thank you again Rem. For creating and sharing with us an amazing AU and fic!
