In addition to Barbie chocolates and Barbies dressed as chocolate, I'm sure it comes as no surprise that Barbie sells chocolate.
Tumblr media
As part of a branded collaboration with hot cocoa company Swiss Miss (back in the days where a lot of Barbie releases had incidental branded products), the Barbie Chocolate Shop hit shelves in 1991.
Tumblr media
This particular ad (which spells the product as "Shoppe") provides more details about how the product serves both as a cafe setting for Barbie and Ken to spend a romantic date together and a place to create hot chocolate or melt chocolate chips into candy treats.
It is worth noting that this was part of a wider ski themed release - the Barbie and Ken here are Ski Fun Barbie and Ken.
Tumblr media
Surprisingly, there's remarkably few other Barbies as chocolate saleswomen - a plethora of pastry chefs and bakers, but very few themed specifically around chocolate.
Tumblr media
Although there definitely appear to be some chocolate elements. (And an animal. In the kitchen. This Barbie violates the health code!)
And speaking of animals and chocolate... I do have to draw attention to another Barbie product that came up in my search because I feel like the branding is... off somehow.
Tumblr media
Why would you theme a set with "milk chocolate treats" around a VET?! That seems like it is setting a dangerous precedent! Is that how Vet Barbie makes her money?!

🥳 Happy (Belated) Birthday, Makena! 🥳
Sunday (August 25th) was Makena’s birthday! It was insanely hot in the daytime, so we went out for Chocolate Shoppe ice cream 🍨 once the sun set and it was a little cooler (it was still 80° F even then!). I gave her her present (a pair of rhinestone butterfly 🦋✨ earrings), and then we went home for cake 🍰 and a movie 🎞️ with Evette and Maritza — it was between The Devil Wears Prada and Cruella, and after watching trailers for both Makena decided on Cruella; despite the poor reviews, it’s a really fun film, but I ended up being too tired to finish it that night, and yesterday I had a doctor’s appointment plus a mini-crisis at home (long story), so we’re finishing it later today.
Tumblr media
“What kind of ice cream do you like?” Marley asked.
“Chocolate!” Makena responded immediately. “Everyone thinks it’s boring, but it’s my favorite!”
“Okay, so this place has the most chocolate-y chocolate EVER.”
“Oh, wow! I’ve gotta try that!”
They both got Zanzibar Chocolate (though Marley also sampled a Black Licorice flavor, which was delicious).
“Okay, yeah, that IS the most chocolate-y chocolate ever,” Makena said after her first rich, decadent spoonful. “What about you? What’s your favorite?”
“Blue Moon!” Marley said eagerly.
“I think I’ve heard of it… what is it?”
“The best ice cream flavor in the world, that’s what!”
“That’s… descriptive,” Makena said, laughing a little.
“Well, we’ll just have to come back sometime so you can try it!”
(I made that doll-sized ice cream tub out of some printouts glued to an old medicine dosage cup! I wish I’d gotten a better photo of it before throwing it away, I thought it turned out really well.)
Tumblr media
Makena tore off the sparkling purple gift wrap to reveal a jewelry box. She opened the lid and saw the silver rhinestone butterflies gleaming against the black velvet backing. “These are awesome, thank you so much!” she said.
“Happy Birthday!” Marley returned with a grin, then snapped a photo of Makena showing off her new earrings.
Tumblr media
“This movie didn’t do very well,” Marley told the girls before starting it, “because I think a lot of people didn’t get it.”
They watched in companionable silence for a while, then Makena commented, “It’s a good movie, but… does Cruella de Vil really need a sympathetic backstory?”
“This is actually an alternate universe to the animated film. It’ll become clearer later on,” Marley responded.
“Oh! Okay, that makes more sense,” Makena said, then suddenly, “Ouch!” She whirled to see Spork pawing at her braids. “Hey, quit it!” (The cat did, reluctantly.)

Tumblr media
I am mildly curious on the late 60s demographic breakdown for usage for "boss" as opposed to other terms -- it does strike me as sort of dead middle of the mainstream, no whiff of counter-cultural -- the "in-group", soc as opposed to greaser, mod not rocker.
Boss has also long been a slang term for “excellent,” with evidence reaching back to the 1880s. Boss took off, though, as a youth slang term for “superlative” and the like (“That new song is boss”) in the 1960s.
And then --
The two words could be used interchangeably, but to me “boss” referred to items that were fads (popular at the moment) and “choice” was used for things that were more long-lived.
Not that Al Hartley and Archie Comics were going to delineate. I have no idea if that woman's experience was universal.

Trial By Combat 7
Requested By: No one. Original Work.
CW: Mentions of war
Summary: The magician and the Traveler exchange information
Note: Psst… guys… it’s here!!
Part One -> Part Six
Tumblr media
-
Focalors and the Iudex has concluded their affairs in poor taste. They had left the meeting with more questions rather than answers, and their suspicions only increased a tenfold. Not a word Arlecchino said during that meeting could be taken blindly, she was a harbinger and everyone knew how they operated. To think the Fatui would put the creators safety at risk was a line that should never be crossed.
Only the Knave leaves the Palais Mermonia with a calm air around her. The large group of Fontainians who stood outside the building watched her leave, hoping to get slivers of information from the woman. She walks right through the group, heading towards her decoy ship. She wasn’t dumb enough to bring the ship that had you on it back to the harbor. Someone might be skilled enough to sneak aboard, or worse, you might get off.
Despite the time of day, the streets of Fontaine were quiet. The soft drizzle of rain over the nation seemed to be never ending and the Knave was the only person who was out for a careless stroll that late afternoon.
Once the harbinger rounded the corner, getting closer to the harbor she noticed a small shoppe selling sweets. The Knave didn’t necessarily have a sweet tooth but perhaps you did?
She walks towards the shoppe, staring intently at the goods while the shopkeeper had an uneasy look on his face.
“Was there something you’d like?” the shopkeeper asks, trying his best to swallow his nervousness.
Her eyes flicker to the confectioneries again. She hasn’t had much time to study you, so she wasn’t sure what your taste was. Did you prefer chocolates? Sour candy? Nougat? Arlecchino clicks her tongue. She wants to win your favor, especially before she docks in Snezhnaya.
“I’ll take one of everything you have.” She states.
The shopkeeper stammers. “O-One of everything?”
“Is that not possible?” She questions. “If it’s the mora you worry about, I assure you I have it.”
The shopkeeper hesitates for a moment longer before he quickly begin to pack all of the sweets and candy into two boxes tied perfectly with a red bow. Arlecchino drops a pouch filled with mora onto the counter.
“T—thank you for your patronage!” He says happily as she leaves with the two boxes in her hand.
———
Once the Knave left, you never exited your room. Although you could hear the soft whispers of Fatui agents who debated entering the room. Most of them saying they just want to see you themselves or wanting to check if you needed anything.
You roll your eyes, ever since you woke up in that bed in Fontaine’s hospital you haven’t had time to yourself. Sure you could scream for them to get out and leave you alone, but they would never go too far. Just staying out of sight to avoid invoking your wrath again.
“Your Grace.”
A voice breaks you out of your irritation. It was the Knave. She had returned already… or maybe hours have already passed? You couldn’t tell.
Her gaze flicks down at the plate in front of you. “I see you’ve ate all of your meal. Good.”
Your eyes drift over to the boxes in her hands and she quickly notices your gaze.
“Do you have a sweet tooth, Your Grace?” she asks.
Arlecchino opens one of the boxes presenting the inside to you, it was filled with many candies and baked goods all placed in an orderly fashion.
“I happened to pass a shoppe on my way back to the ship,” she explains. “You haven’t had the time to try any of Fontaine’s desserts so I bought you a few things.”
You raise a brow, looking at both boxes. A few things?!
“Thank you.” You finally say after a moment of silence, you reach into the box bringing one of the treats to your lips and taking a bite.
The Knave smiles in approval, closing the box but placing it close enough for you to reach.
“There’s actually a few things I wanted to talk about.” You say after swallowing.
Arlecchino nods, “Of course. Whatever you wish.” Her eyes focus on you, waiting patiently for you to begin speaking again.
“Oh! Um… I’d like to know more about the Fatui and its harbingers.” you say.
Her eyes narrow slightly, as she taps her chin. “Where should to begin….” Arlecchino states.

It’s was lights out in the Fortress of Meropide. Guards patrolled the area making sure all of the inmates were in their designated dorms. While the Duke sat in his office with a cup of tea in his hand. The champion duelist, Clorinde sat across from him, a calm expression on her face.
“You arrived late,” Wriothesley comments, “did you come here to enjoy a cup of tea with me?”
Clorinde huffs, “Certainly not. I came here to inform you about the situation.”
Wriothesley sets down his teacup, “have you been able to locate Their Grace yet?”
“No…” Clorinde sighs, looking down at her lap. “Monsieur Neuvillette and Lady Furina had a meeting with the Knave. It didn’t leave much to be desired… we still cannot confirm if the Knave is responsible for their disappearance.”
Wriothesley leans back in his seat, resting his chin in his palm.
“What are you thinking about?” Clorinde questions.
“Have you heard of those children from the House of the Hearth?” Wriothesley asks.
Clorinde’s eyebrows furrow, “Lyney and Lynette? I have, they were on trial not long ago but were proven innocent.”
Wriothesley nods, “They’re currently in the Fortress for stealing… but i’m sure it was the Knave who sent them here to look into her colleagues whereabouts. I even noticed them asking about the forbidden zone.”
Wriothesley picks up his teacup, “I haven’t taken any action against them yet, since i’m curious where Tartaglia went myself.”
“Do you think it’s possible he escaped?” Clorinde asks crossing her arms.
Wriothesley shrugs, “I’m not sure, but I am sure that we could use those children as a bargaining chip against the Knave.”
“It’s clear those three care deeply about each other…” Wriothesley says. “I’m sure with enough… motivation we can get the evidence we need and get the Knave to return to Fontaine.”
“And what about the forbidden zone?” Clorinde asks changing the subject.
He sighs, “It’s not doing any better. It’s getting closer to the red zone, and if it reaches that, that primordial sea water will overflow inside the Fortress and soon all of Fontaine.”
Clorinde nods, “I’m not even sure Lady Furina or Monsieur Neuvillette have even thought about the prophecy since—“
“I’m aware.” Wriothesley interrupts, “but if we don’t act now, Their Grace won’t have a Fontaine to return to.”
It falls silent in the room for a moment.
Clorinde lets out a sigh as she stand up from her seat. “Well, I have other duties to attend to, if anything else of importance comes up, i’ll be sure to inform you.”
“You’re sure on’t want to stay for a cup of tea first?”
———
———
Unlike most of the inmates, Paimon and the traveler weren’t asleep. They sneak past the guards investigating the Fortress under the cover of darkness until a certain voice quiet calls out to them.
“Hey! Over here!”
Behind a large pillar stood Lyney his head poking out as he waved at the duo.
Aether and Paimon exchange glances.
“You scared Paimon! How did you just appear out of nowhere?”
“Oh? You scare so easily now? Is there something worrying you these days?” Lyney teases with a grin.
Paimon crosses her arms, eyes narrowing, “You little...”
Lyney laughs, “Sorry, sorry. Get over here! and keep it down.”
The two approach the magician and notice his twin sister standing behind him.
“Oh Lynette! You’re here too!”
Lynette nods, “that’s right. My brother just cannot stand to be away from me.”
Lyney rolls his eyes then clears his throat, “Freminet is here too. Do you remember him?”
“Oh that one diver from the House of the Hearth? We’ve seen him around the Court of Fontaine before.” Paimon says.
“Now spill!” She adds, “We worked so hard to get you two off the hook and you still ended up here.”
Lyney lets put a dramatic sigh, taking his hat off his head. “Sadly, even the tiniest things can get you arrested these days. It was a small performance with a large crowd, the opera house incident left us pretty famous.”
“And then?”
“Well then guests wallets suddenly disappeared!”
“My brother was charged with theft and I was charged as his accomplice.” Lynette explains.
“The missing wallets are all in the leftmost drawer of the Maison Gardiennage's big filing cabinet. We just need to see how long it takes to discover them.” Lyney says. “In my opinion, the trick itself was preformed perfectly.”
Aether raises a brow, “So you got sent here on purpose. Why are you really here?”
Lynette glances at her brother and he nods.
“The last time I hid my identity from you. I promised not to keep secrets from then on. We are are friends so…” He places his hat back on his head. “We were instructed by “Father” to conduct an investigation.”
“I knew it! Paimon guessed right.”
“If you don’t know my dear friends, the Fortress hides a large secret. Many even believe the Fortress was built to keep this secret hidden.”
“The House of the Hearth have been investigating this secret for a while now, wanting to uncover the mystery. But then all of our informants, including the ones within the guards suddenly disappeared.” Lyney tells the two.
“We believe it’s a direct provocation. Suddenly all of our informants disappear in a matter of days.” Lynette says.
Aether brings a hand to his chin, ‘a few days? is it somehow related to the Creator’s disappearance?’
“Why is the House so interested in this secret?” Aether asked.
“Somehow, “Father” managed to confirm the Focalors does not have the Gnosis. She believes the secret of the Fortress must be related to that.”
Paimon groans, “so it’s all about the Gnosis again.”
“Well that’s about it from our end.” Lyney says. “What about you two? Did Monsieur Neuvillette send you here?”
“Bingo!” Paimon points, “Neuvillette wants us to investigate. The Knave has been putting a lot of pressure on him about Childe so we came here. We’re also hoping to find out more information about Their—“
“The prophecy.” Aether interjected shooting his travel guide a look. “He’s also concerned about the prophecy.”
“Ah yes, the prophecy!” Lyney says, “Father is worried about it too… hey I have an idea, why don’t we team up? The House of the Hearth has many reasons to seek the Gnosis, but our highest priority remains resolving the prophesized crisis. You can trust us on that.”
Aether sighs shaking his head, “Sorry, I must refuse.”
The twins had a look of disappointment on their faces.
“See? I told you…” Lynette grumbled.
“I see… it might be pretty difficult to get you two to cooperate with us.”
“Lyney has been looking forward to reaching an understanding with you since we’ve met.” Lynette admits.
“Just tell them everything why don’t you Lynette…” Lyney says his face growing red.
His sister places a hand on his shoulder, “it’s okay to open up a little…”
Aether sighs pinching the bridge of his nose, “Fine. We can work together, but only exchanging important information. Nothing more.”
The magicians smile, “Wonderful! I was prepared for the worse but your prudent attitude is just as consistent from the first time we met. But since we’re exchanging information now, here’s something you might like.”
“During our investigation, we discovered a place called the forbidden zone.” Lyney begins, “most people wouldn’t talk about it at first but we soon learned from the guards that this place does exist.”
“A forbidden zone…? Could that be where Childe disappeared to?” Paimon questions.
“We’re not entirely sure yet. Although we confirmed its existence, we still haven’t found it ourselves.” Lyney replies.
“Anyways that the most useful information we have as of now, we’re still doing some more investigating but hopefully it can prove most useful to you.”
Aether nods, “We should return to our dormitories, the guards shift change will be happening soon.”
Lyney and Lynette nod. “Very well. I’ll use my cards to get in touch with you in the future, but until then—“
Lyney pulls one of his signature cards from behind his ear, before him and his sister disappear from sight.
-
-
“So Lyney and Lynette are here for the gnosis.” Paimon says, once they return back to their dorms.
“Let’s not forget what Neuvillette told us. The vial found in Their Graces hospital room, whatever was in it originated from Snezhnaya. The House of the Hearth are used to sneak missions so maybe it was them who brought the vial to the Creator.” Aether explains and Paimon nods.
“That makes Paimon think, is Childe even missing? Or was this a ploy from the beginning and now Childe and the Knave are returning to Snezhnaya with them?”
“There is definitely more information to be discovered” Aether adds, “But for now we should focus on getting some rest and continue our investigation tomorrow.”
Paimon yawns, “You’re right. All this thinking is making Paimon sleepy.”
Aether lays down on his back, his gaze focused on the ceiling until his eyes grow heavy and he falls asleep.

JADE CHAMBER , LIYUE
Ningguang and the rest of the Qixing sat at the large table in the Jade Chamber. There were papers piled up on the table, old scriptures related to the Creator and of Fontaine’s history. Including the Steambird post that was posted after their conviction.
The head of the Qixing was growing increasingly frustrated despite her neutral tone. Ever since it arrived in Liyue from Captain Beidou, she had reread the document every hour. She could recall all the punctuation used in the newspaper.
“I’ve sent many letters to the Hydro Archon.” Keqing says her hands laced in front of her. “It’s been close to a week and still no response.”
Ningguang sighs, “I see. It seems like they do not have any intentions of discussing this. We might have to send a diplomat, perhaps they’d be more willing for a peaceful discussion in person.”
“I agree.” Ganyu says, “but the Adepti are growing restless… they want to make the trip themselves to save Their Grace.”
“Have the Adepti even left Liyue before?” Yelan questioned from her spot in the corner.
“Not for a long time, they are still fulfilling their contract… but there is a stipulation in the contract that Their Grace comes above all else.”
Keqing sighs, “this is a mortal matter, we don’t need their involvement.”
Ningguang looks back down at the paper, “Considering the fact that it was a mortal who struck down Their Grace, they might not see it that way. But we can’t afford to expend our resources to keep the Adepti in check.”
“Leave them to me,” Ganyu reassures, “If the Adepti truly do get involved, I fear it might start another war…”
A chill fills the room and Ningguang stand up brushing her hair away. “That’s a worse case scenario… let’s hope it doesn’t come down to that.”
“There are other matters as well,” Yelan suddenly says, her fingers brushing against the jacket on her shoulders.
“I saw one of the harbingers… the Regrator here in Liyue yesterday. At first, I was watched his movements and all he did was pull all the money out of the Northland bank and closed it until further notice.”
Ningguang raises a brow, “Is he still in Liyue?”
“No.” Yelan shakes her head. “He took the first ship back to his homeland early this morning… but it feels suspicious to suddenly close the most profitable bank the Fatui has.”
“I can go to Fontaine, I’ll be the diplomat and confirm Their Grace’s status.” Keqing says while standing up.
“I’m going to return to Jueyun Karst,” Ganyu states. “I’ll try my best to keep the Adepti in check. If anything problems arise, I’ll send word as soon as possible.”
“Thank you all of you,” Ningguang says, “Our main priority should be confirming the safety of Their Grace and hopefully bringing them here to Liyue.”

“…r Grace…”
“Your… G”
“Your Grace…”
Your eyes open. When did you fall asleep?
You sit up rubbing your eyes noticing an unusual chill in the air, all of a sudden it felt like winter. Yet at the same time, you noticed you had on a black and white coat, it had the same insignia that was on the side of the boat.
“Your Grace…”
You look over, it was Arlecchino calling for you again and again. She was also in a similar coat.
“Are you cold?” She asks.
“A little bit.” You admit, even with the coat on you still felt a chill on your bones but you weren’t sure if it was due to the weather or the extremely dangerous individual next to you.
“Don’t worry there are a lot of fireplaces inside.” She says.
She grasps your hand gently leading you up the stairs to the top of the ship.
It was extremely bright, practically blinding as the sun shined down on the thick layer of snow that went on as far as you could see. Even with the sun shining, none of the snow and ice seemed to melting. Off in the distance was a large palace, it was decorated beautifully and was completely coated in ice.
Your attention is then drawn to the dock, there were seven individuals standing looking up at you. Although most of them had a mask on their face, you could tell they were all waiting with baited breaths.
The one in the middle, a mask covering half of his face and with white hair bows towards you slightly and the others follow suit.
“Welcome to Snezhnaya, Your Grace.”

The Candy Man- Part Four// W.W.
Tumblr media
Warnings/Info: cursing, fluff, lots of Wonka whimsy, Willy liking pregnancy boobs
It worked. Everything went according to plan, and your husband has no reason to believe that he wasn’t the father of your baby.
With time, your belly started to grow more and more, and luckily, so did Willy’s chocolate sales.
You were about four months along in your pregnancy when Willy gave you the news that he had bought the chocolate shoppe. He was beaming with glee and you were overjoyed for him. You wanted to help him, so you said, “How about I come and work for you?”
“Oh, no no, no heavy lifting for you, or being on your feet for hours.” he said firmly as he caressed your belly.
“Not even just as the cashier, Willy? I haven’t had a job in years since I’ve been a wife. I’d love to get back out into the world again. And be with you, of course. I’ll keep a stool nearby to sit in if I get tired, if that would make you feel better.”
Willy sighed, then he grinned at you, “Okay, you can work the register. I know that I can count on you. You did promise to help run the business side of things.” He took your hands in his, “Things are happening, y/n. I’ve saved enough money to not only to but the shoppe, but also to rent an apartment nearby. I know it won’t be as spacious and comfortable as what you’re used to, but this is just the beginning. I want you to live with me. And if things keep going the way they have been, you’ll be living like a Queen, and our baby will be the prince or princess of the Wonka chocolate empire.” Willy had put his forehead on yours.
"Oh, Willy, you have already made me the happiest woman in the world. I just know that you-that we will have everything we dream of, I'm happy to work hard, and to be with you and our child."
You and Willy were so absorbed in one another and your daydreaming, that you didn't even hear the front door of your home open.
"What. The. Fuck?" it was your husband, home early and unexpectedly from work.
You and Willy looked over at Mr. Hudson, both in shock. You didn’t know what to say.
“John, how-"
“What a fine day this is, huh? I come home with a sniffle to find my wife with the fucking…chocolate salesman?”
“John, it’s, it’s not what you-well it is actually…”
“That’s it, y/n! Tell me what the hell is going on here.” he yelled, approaching you, towering over you with his height, and actively trying to intimidate you. This was the side of him only you saw.
“John,” you trembled, “this baby isn’t yours, it’s his. I’m in love with him.”
“Ha, well you can go ahead and be in love in the streets for all I care. Get your clothes and get the hell out of my house.”
You were scared, not necessarily of John, but to leave the only home you knew. You were glad that John didn’t say or do anything to Willy.
Willy was with you as you packed, and he held your hand on the way out of the house. You thought that maybe it was a good thing that this has happened now, rather than drag it out any further.
“Alright well, let’s go check out that apartment.” Willy said in his cheery voice to help make you feel better. You knew that you were going to be happy with this man, no matter what.
You were able to close on an apartment that day, well, Willy was, as you didn’t have an income yet. But that soon changed as you went to work together in the chocolate shoppe. Within days of opening, you were making good money.
You balanced the cash drawers, and the accounting books as Willy worked hard on his sweet creations. The candy he made was as tasty as ever, and the shoppe was an absolute dream. Hoverchocs, giraffe milk macaroons, edible flowers, and lollipops as far as the eye could see. It was a whimsical, colorful, joy to behold, with a giant winding cherry tree in the middle of the shoppe. There were pink cotton Candy clouds that you could climb upon, you and Willy would sit on them and have some chocolate milk, and then eat the tea cups.
It was the most fun you’d ever had in your life. It also felt amazing to help build something from essentially nothing, and to be creative with him.
Even at home, Willy would be inventing new flavors and trying new techniques and asking for your input of course.
...........
As you went into the later months of your pregnancy, you and Willy were able to buy a house. It was no mansion, but it was big enough to accommodate a young couple and their new baby, and maybe another child down the road.
You would be at the shoppe all day, resting adequately, of course. Willy eventually gave you an office in the back room to do your accounting work, which was good for you as you were heavily pregnant, but you started to miss being out front with customers. But you knew that once the baby arrived, things would be back to normal soon.
In the evenings, your tired Willy would rest his head on your big, basketball-sized belly and sing to our unborn baby. "Come with me, and you'll be in a woorrld of pure imagination." His voice was like that of an angel, soft and soothing. You could tell that your baby was relaxed by their father's voice, because he would lull you to sleep with his sweet lullabies after a long day in the office.
You started to set up the nursery together, and it was of course candy themed, much like your chocolate shoppe. Willy had lollipop raddles and candy cane-shaped teething rings made for the baby, among lots of other colorful accessories that resembled the sweet treats that were sold in the shoppe.
Above the baby's crib was a mobile made special by Willy, they were smaller versions of the pink cotton candy clouds that hung in the shoppe. Everything was absolutely adorable, and it made your heart swell with happiness.
After looking around the baby's room, you hugged your chocolatier, "Oh Willy, I'm so happy." you nuzzled against his shirt collar as he hugged you tightly. "I can't wait to meet our baby."
"Me either, my darling." he said, kissing you on the head, and then looked at you, "But I have to say that I'll miss your boobs being so big." He then eyed the large mounds on your chest.
You laughed, "You are a typical man, Willy Wonka. You can still use them as pillows after I have the baby."
"I know, but they're just so squishy right now-" he gently cupped your breasts through your shirt, "like marshmallows, or pudding."
"Okay, okay, you better stop before you get too excited, Willy." you giggled, kissing him.
Everything in your new home came together so beautifully, and your tried to enjoy it as much as possible, even though you were incredibly tired, and your body was swollen from head to toe. Your belly had grown much bigger than you ever would have expected.
Willy was wonderful during your whole pregnancy, but he was especially attentive to you in the last month. He would make you dinner after work, and no matter how tired he might have been, he never let on to his exhaustion. He would even massage your feet before bed. His sweetness and generosity never wavered.
.......
The day finally came: the day that you and Willy became parents. He was by your side throughout the entire birthing process, encouraging you and thanking you for giving him a child. He told you he loved you over and over, and wiped the sweat off of your forehead.

Compassion
Sometimes all someone needs is some compassion in this chaotic world.
Tumblr media
The day was bright and beautiful as the mid-day light fell through the window and grazed over the few patrons still in the small cafe you worked at. The murmuring hums of light talk, generic elevator like music, and the occasional care passing by outside. It combined with the sounds from the kitchen. Clinking dishes, utilities, and the occasional shout of an order ready to be served. Relatively peaceful and normal day for those whom worked the cafe life.
It was a demanding job sometimes if you had to handle multiple orders by yourself especially if you were by yourself or happened to be short-staffed that day or if there just so happened to be a large crowd. But it wasn't a bad job. The Patrons were mostly friendly aside from the occasional Karen or grumpy person in the morning who demanded their caffeine high for the morning. It always smelt nice with the lingering scents of coffee, chocolate, and various hand made baked goods in the glass display nearby.
After a while one would even start to recognize the frequent customers visiting the shoppe's doors. The old couple that always stop by on their Sunday strolls for tea and macaroons. The man in the suit with consistent eye bags always tiredly asking for coffee in the mornings. The soccer mom that brings her children in for doughnuts every Tuesday night. Not every patron ordered something though. There was the frequent college students or bookworms that just liked to sit in the cafe and do their own things. Sometimes they'd order snacks sometimes they didn't but that was life.
It was a slow day this morning in particular.
The smells of glass cleaner mixed in with the scents of coffee and sweet vanilla as a cloth ran across the shiny glass of the display case. Inside it beheld the delicious sights within it's hold. A few cupcakes and cakes ready to be bought and eaten. Tempted to take one himself. But it'd have to come out of her pockets if she did so. Not many people had come in today either. A few in the morning for a quick coffee run before work but for now it was just her alone here. She didn't mind, it was Peaceful and quiet other than the distant sounds of the cars passing by on the streets outside.
So perhaps that's why she was caught off guard when someone did come by.
Sort of.
She saw a man around her age. But VERY strange looking. he didn't come inside but sat outside at one of the tables just stationed in front of the giant window. He had a frown set on his blue face as he sat down somberly. Maybe he felt eyes on him because pure white eyes turned to her.. And he gave her a friendly wave. She just gave a polite nod back before going back to cleaning the display case. She'd best get back to cleaning up the place while there was a lapse in crowds.
Now she wasn't sure how long time had passed between the few times she glanced up again, A second time an hour later as she was sweeping the floors, he seemed to still be looking in somberly to looking at his hands. Strange he hadn't ordered anything yet. And again a third time a little bit after that and was surprised at how hunched over he was.
Slowly he slumped forward until hid forehead pressed against the table, effectively deflating like a balloon. You'd think he was hit with the saddest news in the world. You supposed he was. The man wasn't just an ordinary man, but a mutant. It was pretty obvious by his blue skin and his unusual white eyes. As the years went by they became more and more common nowadays as with the rise of heroes but the unfortunate social stigma associated with them was unfortunately still bad. That fact hitting home as regular people on the streets have his weird or disgusted looks as they passed him by. Poor man. Perhaps that's why he was so upset today?
F/c orbs partially glanced to the display case of cakes by the register...
"Excuse me, Sur." The man didn't look up from where he was splayed out across the table and honestly she was half expecting this. "I couldn't help but notice you looked upset. Is everything ok?"
He still didn't respond for a few seconds before his face slowly looked up and your eyes widened at his face. It was unlike anything you'd ever seen. Completely.. inhuman but this man was a human even if he looked different . He seemed to be inspecting you for something as she looked around.
Her bows rose higher as she scanned his body and the table for a moment curiously. "Were you.. expecting someone?"
He slowly sat up now looking both confused and weary but accepted she was speaking to him. "Ya. Though I don' think they'll be coming from how it's been going."
Oh. She got it now. A wave of irritation washed over her as the unspoken puzzle was finished. "Ah. I see. Sounds like a doged bullet then."
The hand paused in the rubbing of his face. White eyes blinking widely up to her. "W-What?"
"Listen. I don't know much about your situation but usually if a bad thing avoids you then it's a sign you have incredible luck.
Those eyes blinked wider. "Luck? Hm. I certainly have heard nein thing before." His hands lifted upwards in a shrug motion. "There's only so many times that this happens to me before it's obvious that I'm the only one who's stuck in the middle."
"You might be in the middle but that doesn't mean you're at the bottom of the barrel..." SHe sighed and his head tilted in surprise as something was placed in front of him. A pink plastic cup of..boba tea? And..a small plate of strawberry shortcake? They pushed towards him face so he was forced to sit back up to stare at the goods-"I thought you might've been hungry from just sitting out here for so long." His face turned to him mouth opening- "It's on me so don't worry about it." She offered a smile finally. "You needed it more than we did anyways."
Those eyes blinked. "But..why?"
"Because you're the luckiest girl in the world. If someone is only surface level looking then they aren't worth the gold that buried beneath the surface they miss. And just because you look different from others that doesn't make you less of a human no matter what someone says Mister-.."
"I-.." He blinked unsure looking from the food to her again. "K-Kurt?"
She smiled brightly at him. "Well then it's nice to meet you Mr. Kurt. Enjoy your food."
White eyes blinked widely as she turned and left him there, the shoppe door sending off a cute little bell chime as the door opened and closed behind her. He lingered a little longer as he blinked before looking back to his small plate.. Slowly a hand clasped around the fork before lifting the small piece of cake to his mouth and taking a bite.
"Hm. Not bad."
He didn't notice the smile he had gotten from inside the cafe. A sign of better things to come surely-
"A cup of coffee please, Fralin."
A pair of eyes looked up from where they were currently studying a stack of styrofoam coffee cups his hands hand been restocking nearby. F/c eyes met familiar White eyes they hadn't seen for a little over four months. A large smile on blue features that had her smiling widely back in response.
"Sure." The cups were slowly placed down and she turned to the man standing there. "Will that be everything for you then?"
"Yes. ..And perhaps something else just as sweet as last time."
The smile upon her face widened. "You got it."

BSD COFFEE ORDERS! ⊹
inspired by this post by @alyszuha! I thought it was so silly and as a former barista it sparked my imagination lol. very little context for these
DAZAI is a sweet coffee drinker. I think he secretly wishes he could be a black coffee fan but he can hardly get it down without four plus pumps of butter pecan syrup and an absurd amount of sugar. probably an iced latte regular. oat milk.
ATSUSHI doesn’t mind black coffee but everything tastes good when you grew up in poverty. he prefers it iced with yummy sweet cream cold foam on top, though.
KUNIKIDA is a plain black light roast truther. doesn’t care if it tastes like shit. he’d spike it with coke and gasoline if it meant it’d help him get through dealing with Dazai everyday.
RANPO would do ungodly things for a caramel frappe. extra whipped cream and caramel drizzle, please.
YOSANO is another black coffee drinker, but I think she’s a little picky about it. loves a good medium roast.
KYOUKA, I think, has residual paranoia from Kouyou telling her coffee would stunt her growth like Chuuya so she’s a tea drinker. sweet green tea, hot or iced, is her go to.
KENJI loves matcha! it’s so earthy and reminds him of home. hot or iced, maybe with some strawberry flavoring.
FUKUZAWA is the reason Ranpo fiends for caramel fraps. he probably gets it with an absurd amount of caffeine, though. I’m talking like, six shots of espresso.
TANIZAKI regularly rotates between vanilla lattes, chai teas, and green teas.
NAOMI gets whatever Tanizaki’s getting.
CHUUYA drinks hot salted caramel lattes pretty much exclusively.
AKUTAGAWA drinks a plain, scalding hot Americano because he thinks it makes him look hard. in reality, he thinks they’re kinda gross so he dumps assloads of sugar in them.
TACHIHARA loves a good chai latte, especially if it’s extra spicy, ya know? something about spicy chai. prefers it hot.
GIN strawberry Italian soda drinker is real to me.
HIGUCHI got put onto to strawberry Italian sodas by Gin. I think, after a while though, she starts to try out different flavors and comes to prefer peach.
MORI doesn’t go to cafes. he has a Keurig in his office and has Hirotsu buy him those huge boxes of donut shoppe/breakfast roast by the tens. stacks them up stupidly. straight black. no less than five cups a day.
ODA seems like he’d be a redeye drinker. silky espresso + a nice medium roast? he loves it.
ANGO drinks a cappuccino, probably with only the finest espresso, too.
POE is a cold brew drinker. I think he probably plays around with flavors and splashes of different types of cream; he really likes a vanilla and caramel cold brew with a splash of whole milk.
FYODOR drinks Raf coffee! it’s a Russian classic from the 90s (the origins are neat and I actually think they’re pretty yummy)
NIKOLAI absolutely drinks tuxedo mochas. wants them disgustingly sweet. all that sugar and caffeine is probably why he’s bouncing off the damn walls all the time.
SIGMA probably drank Raf coffee and mochas for a while because of his colleagues. when he starts branching out on his own, though, he discovers he really likes fruity lattes. blueberry, strawberry, or blackberry flavoring is at the top of his list.
TETCHOU would drink what I would call a mocha for lack of a better term, I guess? but he more or less just gets chocolate syrup dumped directly into black coffee.
JOUNO pumpkin spice latte enjoyer is canon Asagiri told me so. I don’t think he’s too picky about coffee, though (unless it’s Tetchou’s ghastly combination).

whats the most powerful dessert in the world
In the summer of 1877, a man walked into Clarabelle's Chocolate Cake Shoppe in Boletaria, Michigan. He ordered a Rich Chocolate Cake, their specialty. What he got was said by all who had ordered the same to be a delightfully rich dessert, but he was not impressed. He asked to see Clarabelle and told her the cake wasn't at all rich to his palate. She apologized and not only refunded his cake, but promised to make him a much richer cake if he'd come again, money back guaranteed.
He came in the next day and took her up on the offer. She made him a special cake with twice the chocolate, but still, he found it underwhelming. True to her word, she refunded it and promised that if he'd give her one more chance, she'd give him a cake he couldn't possibly find bland. He accepted.
The next day, he came in for his cake. Clarabelle had made a new cake with ingredients known to include several pounds of concentrated cocoa, several blocks of pure chocolate fudge, at least two essential humors from the cocoa seed, and also one unknown substance, present in only a gram but said to have been delivered under armed guard by the Pinkerton Agency, which she ordered her staff out of the kitchen to fold into the batter.
The result was a strange cake that her waitstaff described as "barely-a-cake," held together by a minimum of flour and egg. It glowed brown and smelled most pungently of chocolate, a harsh sort of chocolate akin to sulfur in the burning sensation it caused in those near it.
The man sat down and ate a slice while Clarabelle and her entire staff watched, waiting to see what would happen. They found out, but few lived to tell. The man's head, according to the sole surviving waiter, melted quickly before exploding in a colossal chocolate burst that leveled the restaurant, killing Clarabelle, three Pinkerton Agents, four customers, two waiters, a passing ox, and left the entire region uninhabitable for 140 years. Nothing grows in the region to this day, but scientists have finally begun cataloging the state of the area and allowing critical personnel into the area with high-level biological protection.
The government naturally hid this from public knowledge for fear that Clarabelle's Last Cake could be duplicated by terrorists or food vloggers, but thanks to the freedom of information act, we now know the legacy of the cake if not its secret ingredients. The man who ordered the cake is still there. Nobody knows his name, but his body stays smouldering to this day, smelling strongly of delicious chocolate batter, and will still for a half-life of 400,000 years. Called "The Cadbury Bunny's Foot" by scientists, his remains are considered the most intense chocolate concentration in the solar system, perhaps the galaxy owing to the lack of genuine cocoa plants off the Earth.
It is still only half as terrible as those damn 90% Cacao Lindt bars.

wait i just had a random idea but i think it's amazing
james introducing regulus to a really random ice cream flavor that his rich and spoiled ass has never heard of before
hello! yes we want the fluff! How cute! with love
Sweet Treat (1/1) (jegulus | raising harry)
"Dad? Why does Papa not know bubblegum?" Harry said bright green eyes looking up at him, with his tiny hands still pressed on the glass of the display case.
James looked at his son and then at Regulus, trying to see if he was just joking with Harry or not. All James saw was confusion and curiosity searching over all the flavours in the shoppe.
"Wait why do you look so confused?"
"I didn't know ice cream came in so many flavours..." Regulus whispered in awe. "I thought it was just vanilla, chocolate, or fraise," he said accent heavy on the fruit.
Harry giggled and pulled on James' shirt, "papa said strawberry dad," bright smile on his face.
"Yes thank you for translating," James said and rolled his eyes but the fondness was clear.
"Well love, which should I try?" Regulus said looking at Harry.
Harry pointed to all the flavours calling them out one by one, until he reached a prailine one and said "but not that one, Il-y-a des noix and personne aime ca," Harry explained.
"I don't think Papa wants every flavour Haz," James said.
The cashier came over to them, "what can I get for you?" They asked.
Harry jumped up, "bubblegum! Please!" he squeaked.
"Yes one kiddie size of the bubblegum, and I'll do a moosetracks, and?" James looked at Regulus but his eyes were wide in indecision.
You pick, he mouthed, and James nodded.
"And..." James ran his eyes over the flavours again. "Ahh yes, the caramel cappuccino please. And that's all thank you," James finished their order.
They went to sit outside, where there were small tables with umbrellas covering them from the beating sun.
Harry made a mess quickly but he was just a boy, and he was so happy neither parent could care.
"Try," James said holding out his cone to Regulus who took a small bite.
"Hmmm peanutbuttery," Regulus commented. "That's quite nice," he added savouring the end notes.
He held up his own and then looked back at James' "I think I like this one better. It has little ribbons of crunch in it. Who knew ice cream could be so wild," Regulus said still mesmerized.
And while James laughed, he was just as mesmerized by Regulus as any other daily occurrence, like ice cream.
