Year 4:
Beep Beep Beep Beep
“Oh my god, uncle! You’re gonna burn the house down!” Theo yelled.
“David, What happened? Is your hand bleeding?” Mom screamed
“Ahahaha, it’s nothing Chloe, don’t worry about it. I was just trying to make everyone a surprise breakfast,” Dad said.
“It’s nothing? There’s fire on the stove!” Mom said frantically.
“I got the fire extinguisher, don’t worry. Just a little mishap,” Dad said, trying to cheer them up.
“Uncle, you’re bleeding all over the fire extinguisher! We need to get him to the hospital,” Theo said.
“Hahaha, I guess I am a little clumsy,” Dad said.
Beep Beep Beep
“Someone please turn off the fire alarm, it’s stressing me out,” Mom asked
“What’s happening?” I asked, half asleep in my Pajamas.
Sometimes life surprises you, one moment, you were having a sweet dream. Then, you’re driving your bleeding father to the hospital in Pajamas. The new SUV does feel nice to drive, at least.
“I’m fine, guys. I think it must be the sugar. If I would’ve put more in it, this wouldn’t have happened,” Dad said.
“David, I love you, but don’t you EVER pull stupid stunts like that again,” Mom said, leaning on Dad’s shoulder.
Apparently, Dad wanted to surprise us with waffles for breakfast and thank Mom for all the delicious food she made. He was also hungry for a snack, so he broke Mom's one rule: Don’t mess with her kitchen.
The doctor said he could remove the cast in two months, about the time Theo and I graduate. He already got an internship in a restaurant, bringing home some fancy leftovers.
Mom has not let off her sight from Dad since we got back. She gave him a firm warning and pinched his cheek. Now Dad gets ice cream and meals delivered to his mouth without lifting a finger.
I wish someone would do that for me. Imagine not having to leave the bed and constantly having sweets in your mouth. That would be a dream.
My thoughts disturb me sometimes.
Since winning the competition, I have accepted that I will never be muscular again. The original plan was to savour everything I could for a year, then go on a diet. Mom and Theo have slowed down with the food so that I won’t eat until my stomach is about to burst, but they won’t refuse if I ask for something.
Now I am close to 500 pounds with my stomach always growling for more. I guess it’s just another fat ass behaviour I would have to accept.
Since losing weight is out of the question, I have figured out a way to keep my core muscle fit enough to support the enormous belly in front of me. It’s simple, I stick an 8-inch dildo from Seven’s house to my chair, and I would sit on it when I’m playing video games or watching a movie. When the itch gets too much, I can use my core muscles to lift myself up and down. This way, I get to work out and get off. It's not good for the chair, but who cares? It’s reinforced.
***
It was a regular lunchtime when Brad broke into my house again. Usually, he would greet my parents and head straight upstairs to perform witchcraft for all I care, but today, his footsteps are leading to my door.
Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit. Brad is the kind of asshole that does not knock. I still have the dildo in me!
I panicked and pulled up my pants before getting off the dildo.
He came in right as I flopped my belly down to cover the fact that my pants were not fully pulled up.
“Sup,” I said.
“Sup, Jay,” he reached out his fist for a bump.
“So, you know our last season of football in college just ended,” he said.
Brad walked to my left to sit on my bed.
I rotate my seat to face him so he doesn’t see my ass hanging out in the back.
“Oh, fuck!” I yelped.
Fuck, the dildo twisted in the movement, now poking my prostate.
“You okay, dude?” Brad asked.
“Of course, continue,” I said with the best smile I could muster.
“The guys are celebrating, so it’s like the last party for the team, and I was wondering if,”
“Okay, yeah, I’ll go,” I said quickly.
“Oh, that’s it? You usually don't like to go out or like- move at all,” he said, then stood up.
His sudden movement startled me, and the dildo jerked deeper.
“Are you sure you’re okay, dude?” Brad said, walking closer.
“I’m all good bruh, don’t worry,” I said.
I can feel my hole tensing, almost swallowing the dildo whole.
“I just don’t want you to be angry at me for fucking your cousin. If you want me to stop, I will,” he said.
“You what the who?” I said, baffled.
“I’m fucking,”
“Ew no, don’t tell me. I’m fine as long as you never mention doing that with my cousin ever again,” I said.
He let out a breath.
“Well, that’s something out of my chest. I’m going up now. I’ll come here and pick you up tomorrow night,” Brad said, rushing out the door.
I let out a breath too.
The locks will never be open after this traumatic experience.
My ass is still tingling, so I quickly fuck myself with the dildo to get over with it.
***
The drive to the house has been excruciatingly slow because Brad is a cautious driver. It leaves a lot of time to think without food distracting me.
I am now extremely aware of the bright yellow Pikachu face stretching across my belly. There aren't many clothes that fit me, and it’s been a while since I went out, so I didn’t bother buying new shirts.
I haven’t seen them in a while. They’re gonna think I’m fucking lame.
“Dude, snap out of it. Everyone there misses you. I didn’t invite the assholes,” Brad said.
“…I guess.”
“You’re doing the arm-scratching thing again, haven’t seen you doing that in a while,” Brad said.
“I’m going to put on some music, and you’re going to stop thinking, okay?” Brad added.
“Yeah, okay,” I replied.
When we opened the door, Marcus the quarterback greeted us, and half my worries melted away.
He is about 300 pounds, which feels skinny to me now. At least I’m not the only fat one.
Now that I look into it, not everyone has defined abs. I don’t know why I expected everyone to be runway models. Even Brad is softer around the middle.
“Dude! Where have you been?” Aiden yelled.
“Oh shit, you look humongous, my guy,” Braxton said.
We quickly got back into the groove we had two summers ago.
Brad booted up a party game, and we tried our hardest to destroy each other.
We also caught up on what each of us was up to this past year, or what to do with our future. Aiden wants to marry his girlfriend, Marcus wants to join his boyfriend’s band, and Brad wants to be a freelance artist alongside his side job.
When the night came, They ordered some Chicken wings and pizzas.
“Fuck yeah, trash food! No more diet from Coach,” Aiden said, taking away half the pizza.
“By the way, I bought extra pizzas to see how much we can push ourselves,” Brad said.
I have a bad feeling about this.
“Of course, if it’s too much, we can always count on Jay,” Brad laughed.
There are six of us, with twenty large pizzas. I am screwed.
“It’s just some pizzas, no big deal. I can beat Jay easily,” Braxton, the most muscular guy in the group, said.
“Hahaha, don’t underestimate him, my dude,” Brad replied.
Except for Marcus, all of them are wimps. They started groaning and bitching after a few slices.
“Damn it, how do you make it look so easy,” Aiden asked.
“There’s a technique to it, dumb ass. I trained for this shit,” I answered.
Aiden then passed out from the food coma after six slices.
Two more people soon followed after him.
Brad is on his way to his second pizza. His stomach has never looked this bloated before. Marcus is trying his hardest on his fourth one, but the guy is barely hanging on.
When the seventh pizza box emptied, I was stuffed beyond belief.
The guys woke up and refocused their energy on me to finish the rest.
“There’s only two left, people. Finish it,” I said, pointing at the boxes.
“We’re not on your level, Jay. You’re like, a pro at this,” Aiden said.
“Yeah, man. Only you can do it,” Brad said.
Braxton handed the pizza box over, and they started feeding me slice by slice.
“Come on Jay, you’re better than this,” Aiden said and rubbed my belly.
These people have no personal boundaries like always.
I am beyond capacity after the eighth one.
This was most likely a fucked up plan by Brad to show they don’t care I’m a fat ass. I still believed they wouldn’t like me because of my size until a few hours ago, now it seems ridiculous to reject all those party invites last year. Well, maybe I was up to something because now they’re trying to suffocate me with pizzas.
When Aiden stuffed the last of the slices in my mouth, everyone cheered.
Tonight was absurd, but I got my friends back. When some guys were not happy for a fat guy to be on the team, they stopped hanging out with me. I thought I was a lost cause.
“Dude, you better come back next time,” Aiden said.
“I’m gonna beat you next time, Jay. Watch it,” Braxton said.
“Awesome to have you back, man,” Marcus said.
It reminds me of that summer when we hung out by the river every time the fast food party room got too suffocating, when my worries were carried away by the water.
“Thanks, Brad. For doing this,” I told him once we got in the car.
“No problem, I’m always here,” he answered.
I must have gotten too sentimental, or pizzas are clogging my brain, but I opened my Instagram and tabbed Recent in the search bar.
It seems like he made some new decorations for the coffee shop.
I scrolled down to see the picture of the beach.
“Stop scrolling like a creep, Jay. Just call him,” he said.
“What?” I asked.
“He’s still waiting for that coffee,” Brad said.
“You still talk to Ave? I asked.
“This is fucking depressing to watch, Jay. You guys were best friends,” he said.
“You know, I was kinda jealous of you guys back in the day. I was the skinny guy who got bullied on the side, and you were the guy on the team who still takes the time of day to befriend me. I only had you, and you also had him. It’s frustrating seeing you throw that away,” he finishes.
He doesn’t understand though. I’m a hypocrite who ignored Ave when he got fat. I don’t deserve his attention.
***
It’s been two weeks since our graduations and Dad getting his cast off. Mom has been working full-time, trying to figure out what we could do as a family to celebrate. It’s proven to be difficult when there are two 500-pound whales in said family. We can’t fit into any amusement park ride, and we’ll sink into the bottom of the ocean if we go to the beach. So, the rational thing to do is a picnic. At least that’s what I suggested. But Mom insisted a camping trip was the best family bonding option. For two whales.
It’s fine, I thought to myself. We have done this plenty of times.
After stuffing Dad in the front seat and the emergency food boxes in the back of the SUV. Mom explained the bags of medicines she bought like a flight attendant with the safety instructions. She must have been traumatized by Dad’s injury. He’s not allowed to do anything remotely dangerous, like moving his hand to eat. Hence, the army medical packs.
Mom went through the bottles of fox spray, bear spray, mosquito spray, sun spray and pepper spray, and then we finally got moving.
On our way there, we had some intermissions at the gas stations to replenish snacks. Theo whined it, but this was all his fault anyway. If only he hadn’t grown our monstrous appetite, and forced musical soundtracks to be played in the car for hours, I might have skipped over a few snack breaks.
Recently, my weight has stabilized at about 520 pounds. Thank God my exercises on the chair worked; otherwise, I’m going to blow up on my way to the camp.
“Guys, Brad said safe trip, and he’ll miss us,” Theo said.
“He probably only meant you,” I replied.
Theo has been giggling for an hour straight, looking at his phone.
“I’ll miss you, Bradley. The signal’s breaking off. See you soon!” Theo said.
We set up the camp in a few hours. By the time we were done, the sun had already set, giving the mountain an orange hue.
Today we’re going up to Sunshore Lake. It’s going to be a steep walk, but I’m ready to flex my athletic prowess.
It was not a good sign that I was already sweating before arriving at the entrance.
“David, this is a bit steeper than I remembered. Do you guys want to stay down here?” Mom said.
“Nah. Jay and I will do it. This is a piece of cake compared to what we used to do. Right, son?” Despite not having to walk for more than a year, Dad remains confident.
“Hell yeah, Dad. Let’s show them what we're made of!” I said.
I give up. We’re a third of the way through, and I can feel my belly weighing me down.
“Come on -huff, son, you -huff-can do it!” Dad said, looking worse than I do.
Theo looked at us and chuckled.
“Guys, I’m so sorry! I should’ve known this was too much,” Mom said, panicking.
“It’s- it’s all good, Chloe. Remember you married the- huff- Star athlete back in college?” Dad smiled at Mom and gave her a thumbs up.
“Need a hand?” Theo asked me.
“Isn’t that too much?” I motioned to our luggage on his back.
“Oh, that’s nothing,” he swung my arm behind his shoulder and carried me.
He’s been doing that more often than not when I couldn’t get up. Probably the reason he got all those muscles under his shirt. What happened to the noodle arm ginger?
“Thanks, man. I guess I don’t have to roll back down there,” I said.
When we were halfway through, Dad told us solemnly.
“I- I don’t think I can make it.”
“Noooo, David I’m sorry! I didn’t mean for things to end this way,” Mom said with tears in her eyes.
“I love you guys. You’re the light of my life. I am honour to be a husband, a father, and a-”
“Dad, you’re not dying. We’re almost there,” I said.
“Is it too late to call an emergency helicopter?” Mom asked.
“David, I love you, but I really don’t want to touch you right now. Can you pull through yourself, baby?” Mom said, looking at the sweat ball that was Dad.
Theo burst out laughing, and I couldn’t help but join too, even if I was in an equally dire situation.
When we got to the top, everyone was exhausted.
We cleaned ourselves up with towels, and Mom went to check the Kayaking information.
Dad and I were too big for it, as expected, so we went to find a good spot for fishing.
“I’m so excited. I have never kayaked before!” Theo said, looking as refreshed as ever.
Before we set up our fishing gear, they eagerly ditched us.
The Lake looked as calm as ever. It's boring with little going on.
Mom and Theo are probably in the middle of the lake now.
Staring at the stale water, I realized Dad was not perfect. He’s a little stubborn, clueless sometimes, but that’s what I like about him. I don’t know if anyone would find my quirks appealing. if Ave would.
I’m just a Lazy food addict who basically lives in his mom’s basement, so maybe not.
“Jay?” Dad said.
“What’s up, Dad?” I asked.
“You think too much, buddy.”
“You were always an overthinker since you were a toddler,” Dad said.
“I remember you told me you wanted to play football instead of hockey because hockey will give you frostbites, and freeze you into those Neanderthals from the museums,” Dad said.
“Oh Gosh,” he still remembers.
“You know what?” Dad said, then quickly took off his shirt.
“Let’s go for a swim,” He said with a smile.
“But the fishing,” I said.
“Don’t worry about the fish,” He said, walking back and charging towards the water.
The cannonball created a massive splash, making me completely wet.
“Mother of God, it’s freezing! Did you see that, Jay?” He said with a laugh.
“Yeah, that was pretty cool,” I chuckled. It’s not every day you see a chunky beast jumping into the water.
“Come on, Jay, take it off and jump!” he said.
I have not taken off my shirt in public since middle school, when I started to notice my flaws. Even in the locker room, I would find a bathroom stall to change.
“Don’t overthink it, Jay! Trust me!” Dad said.
Don’t overthink, I thought.
I took off my shirt and back off. When I pick up the pace, my entire body is wobbling.
With all the strength I have, I jumped.
Shit, this was a bad idea.
The cold water hit me.
First, nothing but white bubbles clouded me. Then, schools of fish surrounding me appeared in my vision, hurrying away from the meteor strike. I moved my legs slightly apart on the lakebed, so I don’t step on the tiny crabs while they take refuge in the kelp forest.
“Holy Fuck, it’s freezing!” I said as I pulled my head out of the water.
“Hahahaha, watch your mouth, Jay. You don’t want to summon your mother here,” Dad said.
The view down there was breathtaking; it was what I expected, but not. The fish looked different from a simple change of scenery. I wouldn't have known if I had never jumped.
“I’m proud of you, Jay. That was a huge splash. Aren’t the views here amazing?” he said.
“Thank you, Dad. I wouldn’t have done it without you,” I said.
“You did it all by yourself, kid,” he replied.
We kept exploring the lake until our stomachs growled in protest.
After setting up the fire, we roasted some fish in the bucket and made S’mores from caramel marshmallows.
Theo and Mom joined and we talked about the stories we had at school or some embarrassing stories of me Dad has kept.
The next day, we packed up our stuff to leave. The mountain is beautiful and all, but Dad and I are starving for some real food.
On our way down, I realized that I had been the biggest enemy to myself. There are so many supportive people surrounding me when my self-doubt overshadows them.
The signal bars slowly appear one by one. I opened Avery’s profile picture.
If he rejects me, I’ll be embarrassed in front of a person I really care about.
I shouldn’t overthink.
There’s nothing more I can lose when I already lost his company.
So I texted.
“Hey, Ave. I know I’m late, but would you mind if I take you up on your offer for the coffee?”
“...” a text bubble appeared.
“I thought you'd never ask.”

Chloe Or Sam - It's only 500 words written about an ended situationship with Dieter Bravo based off of the Taylor Swift song "Chloe Or Sam Or Sophia Or Marcus." It's angsty and kind of sad... utilizing a *lot* of the lyrics from the song. I love it, and it's definitely changed the way I listen to one of my favorite songs off of TTPD.
Legionary - Wooooo boy. Let me tell you, this has ALSO changed the way I look at something, that being the Gladiator II trailer because yeeeah, your girl wrote a threesome fic with Marcus and Lucius. Mmmmf, I have a thing for roman times and here we are my two celeb crushes all sweaty and ridiculously hot... OF COURSE I'm going to write porn about them. I am not God's strongest soldier.
Birds Of A Feather - My newest published work. Very soft, very fluffy, and very romantic. I really love trying to figure out Joel with no cordyceps, just happily living life building his contracting business while being a good dad... and of COURSE learning to fall in love with a certain reader. 😏
I'm going to go ahead and tag folks in case they've already been asked.

Epsom Derby Day at Surrey Hills International Barn Labelled 'Great Success'
Internationally renowned equestrian competitors Chloe and Richard Dunbar (pictured) opened their stunning facilities this afternoon to celebrate the Epsom Derby. Sports correspondent Erica Liberty was there.
It's not every day as a sports correspondent that you get to pay a visit to one of the most locally well-known equestrian facilities. Much less that that facility happens to be right on your own doorstep, on one of the biggest and busiest days in the horse racing calendar.
While it's been a good few years since international show jumping riders Chloe and Richard Dunbar dabbled in the world of horse racing, they now focus on giving those same race horses a life after the track.
"We were going in fairly blind when we had a few racehorses that were still running" admits Chloe, chuckling sheepishly. "I know I quickly realised that we just didn't have the time, facilities or the staff to give those horses the training they deserved to be at their best potential, especially since we only had three racehorses - compared to over twenty horses competing in other disciplines" (dressage, show jumping and three-day-eventing).
"Now, we're in a much better position to be able to help with these horses' re-training and finding new purpose after their time on the racetrack is done. We've even brought on a group of them ourselves, and they've all done really well!"
pictured: Richard with his off the track Thoroughbred, Star Spangled Man, enjoying a cuddle for our cameras
Two of these off-the-track Thoroughbreds (or OTTBs, as they're known in the horse world) currently located at the Dunbar's facility are very well-known locally and internationally, and feature regularly on the farm's social media.
Star Spangled Man (known affectionately as 'Spangles' around the barn) was foaled in 2018 and had a very short, unsuccessful racing career in Australia.
"I've watched footage of his old races" Richard tells me, giving the big bay stallion in question a scratch behind his ears, "you could tell his heart wasn't in it. He hated chasing the other horses around the track so he would keep his gallop really collected and stay at the back - almost like he was protesting!"
Is there still any of that attitude that remains?
Richard laughs when I ask him that. "Oh definitely! Catch him on a playful day and you won't get any sense out of him whatsoever! He loves to buck and play and just generally act like a bit of an idiot. If he's having a good day though, and he keeps his jumps over the things he's supposed to be jumping over, instead of just using them to show off!"
So, what's next?
"Well, we just got back from Ocala (USA), so they're having a bit of a rest at the moment" says Chloe. "Like us, they're enjoying the lovely summer weather and the sunshine!"
It's anything BUT rest for Chloe and Richard though, as their Epsom Derby Day charity cookout and party has attracted over 500 people - including horse-lovers and racing buffs from every generation. Entry to the day was a pound coin donation, with proceeds going to a number of charities dedicated to horse welfare - including World Horse Welfare, the RSPCA, as well as Life After Racing; a charity whose main goal is to ensure that racehorses have careers and loving homes after their lives at the track are over.
Well over 2000 pounds was raised between donations, buying food and drinks, and the raffle tickets sold on the day.

July 12th was the first time your eyes met. It was the first time you saw his smile and your heart skipped a beat. July 12th was your first day working on Supernatural. It was the first day you talked to the man who was going to be there with you through it all. It was the first day you heard his voice and the first day he made you laugh as your hands were running through his hair, getting him ready for his scene.
August 1st was the first time he was waiting outside the hair and makeup trailer for you to finish work. It was the first time you blushed deeply in front of him, and the first time Misha asked you out. It was the first time you stumbled over your words, before finally managing to say yes. It was the first time you saw that light in his beautiful blue eyes, which only ever got lit for you.
August 2nd Misha held your hand as you walked off the set with him. He made you smile and laugh. He made you feel important and adored. Misha bought the two of you coffee and donuts, taking you down to the river. He asked you questions and he listened to you. He made you smile and laugh. He held you close as he kissed you goodbye leaving you wanting more. Everything. With him.
Every day until August 14th when Misha took you out on your second date, he texted, he called or dropped by the trailer after shooting. And that second date was a date like none you had ever been on before. He had sent you a wink asking you if you trusted him. Oddly enough, as little as you knew him, you did. You trusted him enough to sneak into an abandoned plot and climb up on the roof of the house with him. You sat between his legs watching the sunset with him, smiling as his lips ghosted over your shoulder.
You had never been happier lying in his arms when the first beams of the sun hit your naked body on August 15th. The smile beaming on your face reflected in his as his eyes shone brightly at you, pulling you close.
Over the course of the next few months you spent every moment possible with Misha, even if it caused you to blush daily with the playful teasing aimed at the two of you… well mostly at Misha from his two co-stars Jensen and Jared. You didn’t mind. You liked the two idiots and Misha just shrugged, pulling you into his arms kissing you breathless in front of them, pulling apart from you with a goofy smile on his face, whispering any amount of teasing was worth that.
October 2nd was the day you received the news of your sister. She had died in a car crash, leaving behind your 4 year old niece. Misha had been the first person you had run to as your lawyer hung up the phone. His arms were the ones you had sought comfort in when you cried yourself to sleep that night. His strength was yours over the next two months of custody battles against Sophia’s no good dad, who your sister had spent years trying to keep her safe from.
On December 4th, with Misha’s financial and moral support you had won sole custody of your niece and Misha had asked the two of you to move in with him. You had never cried so many happy tears as you had that day.
You had been so worried that no matter what you had done or ever would do, you could never be a good enough parent for Sophia. You could never be what the little girl deserved. That combined with the loss of your sister had kept you up past midnight on the 24th of December. Misha had held you, listened to you and let you cry, before he had even started reminding you of all the reasons he was sure you could do this. Before he had fished a ring out of his pocket, falling down on one knee before you, telling you this was not the way he had planned this. He knew you well enough to know, you needed to hear you never had to do any of this alone. You needed to hear that he loved you and that he would never leave your side. On the 25th of December you flew into his arms, sending him tumbling to the floor as you kissed him breathless. You were lying beneath the christmas tree when Misha gave you the best gift you could ever have asked for. A life with him and Sophia and tears were streaming down your cheeks as you whispered your yes.
The miles you and Sophia spent traveling back and forth between set and your new Washington state home didn’t mean anything. All the days you spent with Misha as a family was worth it all. On April 16th the adoption came through and Sophia Y/L/N became Sophia Collins only 3 days before you became Y/N Collins, as you married the love of your life in the presence of all your friends and family.
Today is July 11th and a year has past since that beautiful blue-eyed man walked into your life and changed it forever. Today you were sitting on the steps of his trailer with your five year old then niece now daughter in your lap. She smiled brightly up at you as she asked you if you think Daddy’s is going to be happy and it was all you could do not to cry. You still missed your sister every day. It had not been your choice for Sophia to start calling the two of you mom and dad, but you couldn’t find it in your heart to object to her affections and you knew your sister wouldn’t want you to either.
You nodded with a warm smile on your face, looking up when you heard Misha’s surprised gleeful greeting when he saw the two of you waiting for him as he headed off set for his break. Your eyes teared up along with his as Sophia ran to him and Misha read the text on the little girls shirt; spinning her around in the air, kissing her cheeks and reaching out for you, pulling you closely against his chest as your lips met as Sophia ewed playfully.
A year is not measured in the miles we travel across continents to be with family. It is not measured in the trials and tribulations we must go through. It is not even measured in the lives that we lose. It’s not measured in the times we laugh or cry. It is not measured in cups of coffee, sunsets or sunrises. It is measured in love and standing right here in the arms of your husband, with your fingers running through your daughter's hair and a small new life growing inside of you. You knew this year had been the best of your life.

Last Kiss
Pairings/characters: Sam, Sister!Reader, Dean, mentions of John Winchester, Castiel briefly.
Warnings: Some angst, talk of death, it’s just very sad
Word count: 1142
A/N: This is my submission for @the-awkward-writer’s 500 followers Song Challenge. My prompt was the song “Last Kiss” by Taylor Swift. I did exactly use the whole song as the prompt, I paid more attention to the lyrics and went from there. The lyrics that inspired the fic with be bolded because italics aren’t messier. I also may have told you there was a pairing different from the one I used, so if I did, I’m sorry! I always change my mind last minute. Congratulations on your milestone, I hope you like this! (I cried when I read through it the last time... ha ha sorry.) This was not looked over by anyone, all mistakes are my own.
If you would like to be added or removed from a tag list or would like to make a request, please send me an ask!
I still remember the look on your face
Lit through the darkness at 1:58
The words that you whispered for just us to know
You told me you loved me so why did you go… away?
When I was small I use to have lots of nightmares, I was always afraid of the dark. The first time I went to dad with it, I was seven years old. He gave me a gun and told me to go back to bed. Dean could never find it in himself to argue with him. So, I went back. Sam, however, argued with dad all the time about everything. The next night he came and slept with me, that night and every other night he could. So, when I woke up sobbing in the middle of the night he was there to protect me. Dean didn’t say anything to dad. How could he? He loved me.
I remember one particular night, six months since I’d been back from Hell when I was jolted awake by the worst nightmare I’d ever had. Dad was long dead by then, we had been on our own for quite a few years, but this particular night it was only Sam and I. We were on a case and Dean had gone home with some blonde several hours earlier. I yelped loud enough to startle Sam, but he realized it was me, gasping for air, sobbing, terrified. He pulled me tight against him and held me until I could breathe again. I remember balling his t-shirt up in my fist so tight that my hands tingled. He rubbed my back gently, whispering that I was okay, that I was safe.
I glanced at the clock, the red numbers burned through the darkness reading 1:58. I could barely see his face through the pitch black surrounding us, but his expression was gentle. It was the calm in my storm. When I was next to him everything was still. We couldn’t fall asleep again after that, so we talked until sun up.
I do remember the swing of your step
The life of the party, you’re showing off again
And I roll my eyes and Then you pull me is
I’m not much for dancing
But for you I did
Sam was always able to cheer me up, no matter what. Dean wasn’t stone cold, but Sam and I shared a closer bond than Dean and I did. I still remember all of our inside jokes and secret handshakes. While dad took us on the road, Sam and I sat in the back where we each took the window seat so we could stick our heads out the window, then whip around and die of laughter at our crazy flyaway hair. After that, we’d fix it, only to turn back around and do it again.
Sometimes, we’d pull off on the side of the road late at night to admire the stars or stretch our legs. A few times I remember running around with Sam and Dean, but I was much smaller than they were and I’d fall trying to keep up. So, suddenly I was on the ground, my knee bleeding and tears were streaming down my face, but Sam was there to save me. He’d kneel by me and tell me jokes in an attempt to make me smile. It always worked. He was the life of the one giant party that we thought our lives were when we were that young.
Years later, he was still the life of the party, even after we realized our life wasn’t a party and dad started taking us on hunts to train us. Dean was the first of us, Sam was a bit sooner than I was, and they both picked up on hunting very quickly. They each had a kill under their belts before they were seventeen. I was never as lucky and I lost a lot of people in the beginning which really tortured me, but Sam was still there.
One night he made me dance with him. Dean and Dad were out, it was Dean’s first time at a bar and it was just Sam and I at the motel room. I was upset because I hadn’t gotten there in time and lost another victim to the monster we were hunting. Sam noticed my sulking, so he put on music and made me dance with him. I couldn’t resist, no matter how much I wanted to. He took my hand and pulled me up, spinning me around. I was grinning and giggling in no time. He had a special way with me, it was gentle and understanding. He could never turn me away when I was down, even when dad told him to. How could he? He loved me.
But I’ll go
Sit on the floor wearing your clothes
All that I know is
I don’t know how to be something you miss
I never thought we’d have a last kiss
I never imagined we’d end like this
Your name, forever the name on my lips
I sat on the kitchen floor, my knees pulled to my chest, a small box of pictures at my feet, and tear stains covered my cheeks. My eyes were puffy and red, almost like the red flannel I wrapped myself in that used to be Sam’s. My lungs burned, and in my hand, I had a picture of the three of us on the hood of the car before we earned the truth about the life we were raised into. Dean was actually smiling and laughing, Sam’s eyes still shone bright with hope, and I hadn’t a care in the world. We looked so normal and happy. Dean’s smile had always been such a rare treasure, Sam’s smile was always contagious. My brothers and I always said we’d die for each other, I just never imagined that’s how their stories would end.
Dean had been a demon and Sam had been dead for exactly a year. So, there I sat with nothing left, but flannels, pictures, and an angel. I barely noticed the fluttering sound of angel wings or Castiel plant himself on the floor right next to me. I glanced over at him, my expression non-existent, and all I could see was the pain in his eyes.
“Y/N,” he spoke softly, “you’ve been sitting here for several hours.”
I couldn’t bring myself to answer him. All this time later and I still couldn’t bring myself to answer him. I couldn’t bring myself to do much of anything, on this, the day they both died for me exactly a year ago. I can’t forget them and everything they did to protect me. I can’t make it stop hurting and I can’t talk about it. How could I? I loved them.

Love is a Lie
Pairing: Sam Winchester x Reader
Warnings: ANGST
Word count: 2715 (with lyrics)
Summary: You may be young but you know your marriage to Sam is perfect. Or is it?
A/N: This little piece of pain was written for Chloe’s 500 Followers Song Challenge over at @the-awkward-writer. I decided to push myself and use two songs for this: “I’m Not the Only One” by Sam Smith and “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars. Image from Google-credit to its owner. Enjoy!
Sam Winchester was the most loving man you’d ever met. Your paths first crossed when you were 14 years old. Your fathers were hunting buddies and your dad finally decided to let you & your mom join him on a hunt. When you walked into Bobby’s living room and locked eyes with Sam, you were a goner. The dopey-eyed look on his face said that you weren’t alone. Unbeknownst to you both, all the adults saw the heart eyes you were giving each other and smirked to themselves.
3 years later
As good as they were as hunters, your parents were no match for a 8-on-1 fight with a vampire nest. Bobby’d made a promise to your parents to look after you if anything happened to you so you moved in with him and became the new resident researcher. While it was a horrible thing to go through, there was a silver lining. John needed to track down leads for the yellow-eyed demon so he decided it’d be best for the boys to stay with Bobby and enroll in the local school along with you.
It didn’t take long for you & Sam to stop dancing around each other and finally start dating. You didn’t know it was possible to be this happy but here you were with your dream man. As your senior year approached, the talk of college came about. You were perfectly fine staying in state and going to SD State (where you’d already been given a full ride) but Sam had stars in his eyes over Stanford. The thought of Sam being so far away gave you a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach but you’d never be the kind of person to hold their partner back. So you tried your best to be supportive when Sam told you he’d been accepted for next fall.
You guys made it through the year and before you knew, graduation day was here. It was a surprise to no one that both you and Sam were in the Top 5 of your class. Bobby whooped and hollered when you both walked across the stage and looked every bit like the uber-proud dad (which, let’s be honest, he completely is). After the ceremony, Bobby took you, Sam, & Dean out for a celebratory dinner. Sam was still sporting the same nervous look on his face that you chalked up to nerves about graduation. That is, until dessert came. Right there, in the middle of your slice of pie, was a beautiful rose gold ring with a small diamond on top. You looked up to see Sam down on one knee.
“Y/N, every since we met 3 years ago, you’ve had a home in my heart. I know physically we’ll be going in different directions for school but I don’t want to ever be without you emotionally. Would you do me the absolute honor of becoming Mrs. Winchester?”
You were crying so hard that you couldn’t speak so you just nodded enthusiastically and hugged Sam tight, right there on the floor. He stood and slid the ring on your finger. You were eyeing it with wonder when Bobby, with tears in his eyes, informed you that the ring had been Karen’s and that you better take care of it. You slid out of your chair and embraced the gruff hunter, whispering a heartfelt thank you to him.
You and Sam married in a small backyard ceremony with an old friend of Bobby’s officiating. John had taken a small break from hunting when he heard the good news and came to wish you both luck with your new lives together. Knowing that you only had a few months to spend together before going off to college, you decided to take a two-week honeymoon to the mountains where you spent plenty of time enjoying each other as husband and wife.
The summer came & went and before you knew it, August was here and you had your car packed on the way to South Dakota State. All the men came with you to help move you in and put up a few wardings, just in case. With 5 sets of hands, moving took no time at all. Thankfully, your roommate wouldn’t be moving in until the next day so Sam could spend the night with you, giving you a proper goodbye.
The next morning came far too quickly and you & Sam were sharing a tearful goodbye near the Impala. Sam decided to leave a few of his shirts with you for whenever you were missing him. After many promises of calling of each other and declarations of love, you watched the car roll away until it was no longer visible. Trudging back up to your room, you looked at your calendar and started to mark off the days until you could see Sam again.
Once the semester got in full swing, you and Sam set a schedule to call each other 3 times a week. For a few months, things were perfect, even if you missed him like crazy. Then, Sam started missing a call here and there. He said that his courseload was bearing down on him and that he just needed to concentrate on studying. You completely understood and didn’t put too much stock into it. However, it went from one missed call to two missed calls until you found yourself not talking to Sam for a week and a half. The pit in your stomach came back and you immediately thought the worst.
You and me, we made a vow For better or for worse I can't believe you let me down But the proof's in the way it hurts For months on end I've had my doubts Denying every tear I wish this would be over now But I know that I still need you here
Sunday afternoon rolled around and you finally got a call from Sam. Relief and anger were warring inside you. You asked him where he’d been but he gave you the same reasoning as before about his schoolwork. You wanted to believe him but the voice in the back of your head assumed the worst until you finally asked Sam if there was someone else. He was immediate to deny your claims and say that his love was only for you.
You say I'm crazy 'Cause you don't think I've known what you've done But when you call me baby I know I'm not the only one
You could feel yourself slipping away from your husband so you decided to take action. Your Winter Break had officially started so you quickly packed a bag and headed to the airport to buy a ticket to California to surprise Sam.
The plane ride was uneventful but your stomach was in a knot. What were you going to find once you got to Sam? Were you overreacting and Sam was really just busy with school? Had Sam found someone else to keep his bed warm at night? The questions swirled in your head until you found yourself in front of Sam’s dorm room. At the beginning of the semester, you’d exchanged dorm info in case either of you visited the other. You raised your hand to knock but it flew open, revealing a smiling Sam with his arm slung around the waist of a short blonde.
You've been so unavailable Now sadly I know why Your heart is unobtainable Even though Lord knows you kept mine
You both stood there, mouths gaping, before the blonde cleared her throat, obviously uncomfortable with the growing tension. This pulled you out of your stupor long enough to reach back and slap Sam hard across the face, tears streaming down your face.
“You son of a bitch! I’ve been worried sick about you and you’ve been here playing house with her?!”
“Y/N, I-I, I’m so sorry. I never wanted to hurt you.”
The blonde looks back and forth between you two before landing on you. “Um, who are you exactly?”
Before you can speak up, Sam solemnly explains, “Jess, this is Y/N, my...my wife.”
“Your WHAT?! Sam, you told me you were single and that the girl calling you was your sister!”
“Sam, you are a grade A asshole. I can’t believe you! I, I can’t do this. I want a divorce.” You turned on your heels and ran out of the door, Sam fast on your heels.
“Y/N, wait! Please let me explain.”
“Sam, there’s nothing to explain! You have been cheating on me, apparently for a while. If I hadn’t shown up, were you ever gonna tell me?”
The look on his face told you everything. “Sam, I’m leaving. I hope you have a nice life with your little girlfriend.” As tears welled in his eyes, you turned away for fear of losing your resolve.
I have loved you for many years Maybe I am just not enough You've made me realize my deepest fear By lying and tearing us up
Once you arrived back at your hotel room, it seemed as if you had an never-ending reserve of tears, crying in the shower and once you went to bed. You finally drifted to sleep sometime around 2 in the morning, hurt and angry.
The next morning, you were confused as to where you were before the previous night’s events came flooding back, along with the tears. You gathered your belongings to head to the airport to hopefully exchange your flight for an earlier one.
Thankfully, your dorm didn’t close for the holidays. You were looking forward to being alone and wallowing for a bit. As you approached your building, you caught sight of a very familiar muscle car. As you approached it, Dean got out and came straight for you and picked you up in a big hug. You couldn’t stop the tears as you hugged him back. How were you going to explain to him what Sam had done?
You were saved from your internal monologue when Dean said, “Sam told me everything.” That brought a fresh wave of tears along with a huge dose of anger. Dean helped you bring your bags up to your room. He told you that he’d just wrapped up a case nearby when he got the call from Sam and decided to head your way. You finally calmed down enough to look at Dean and ask why would Sam betray you like that. Dean couldn’t answer that and chose to hug you instead. He decided then to stay a few days to keep you company and keep your mind off his idiot brother.
Dean’s time with you came and went and before you knew it, the new semester was starting. As soon as you had a spare moment, you found a local attorney’s office, officially petitioned for divorce, and had the papers sent to Sam. Your heart ached as you were signing but you knew there was no recovering from this. You needed to do this for your mental health.
Sam called and tried to work things out but each time you told him that it was over and there was no ‘fixing it’. He finally relented and by the start of your sophomore year, you were no longer a Winchester. The first sign that you were on the road to recovery was that that little tidbit didn’t hurt as much as you thought.
3 years later
Time flew by and here you were at your college graduation. It was a similar scene as high school with Bobby & dean cheering you but you all knew that Sam should have been there too. You still had your moments of sadness where you wished things were different but time had lessened the hurt and you were looking forward to your future. You’d accepted a position down in New Orleans with a well-established company known for its great treatment of its employees. No matter what life had thrown at you thus far, you knew this new start was just what you needed.
5 years later (Sam’s POV)
Same bed but it feels just a little bit bigger now Our song on the radio but it don't sound the same When our friends talk about you, all it does is just tear me down 'Cause my heart breaks a little when I hear your name
Another state, another case. At this point, it felt like I was existing and life was happening around me. I’ve haven’t been the same since Y/N and I divorced. There’s not a moment that I don’t think of her or how I completely betrayed her trust. So much has happened since then. Jess broke up with me right after Y/N left, saying that she couldn’t be with a cheater. Then, Dean came to California and beat the crap out of me for hurting Y/N. I deserved every punch and then some. He also informed that Dad had gone missing and I needed to help him find him. From there, I dropped out of Stanford and was roped back into the ‘family business’. Now, Dean & I’ve been at it for 5 years and while our relationship has healed, it will never be as it once was and I take full responsibility for that.
On this particular case, we found ourselves down in New Orleans hunting a witch. It turned out to be an easy case and we decided to hit a local bar to celebrate. Once inside, we found a corner table to hole up at with our beers. Soon after, Dean found a barfly to flirt with and I sat at the table with just my thoughts. 30 minutes in, a rowdy group walks in and at the front is a face I thought I’d never see again.
My pride, my ego, my needs, and my selfish ways Caused a good strong woman like you to walk out my life Now I never, never get to clean up the mess I made, ohh… And it haunts me every time I close my eyes
I sat there staring at her. She looked mostly the same but her hair was shorter, in a pixie cut that she wore well. She seemed to be enjoying herself as she laughed at a joke someone told, head thrown back and eyes bright. The group moved towards some tables and she turned towards the bar to order. As she ordered, Dean instantly recognized the voice and turned towards you.
“Y/N? Is that you?”, you heard from your left, causing you to turn.
“Dean! How good to see you!” You turned and hugged him tightly, discreetly scanning the crowd, probably looking for me.
You & Dean spent a few minutes catching up before the mood turned somber and our eyes connected. I could see your breath hitch before you turned back to the bar, hugged Dean again, collected your drinks, and went back to your table. You’d schooled your features before reaching the table, slapping a big grin on your face and passing out the drinks before taking the last 2, one for you and one for the man beside you. He accepted the drink while pressing a light kiss to your lips with a smile. You wrapped your arm around him and that’s when I caught a glimpse of the ring adorning your left hand.
I threw some cash down on the table and slipped out to the alley beside the bar, the alcohol heightening my emotions before they came crashing down. I sat and sobbed over how I screwed everything up and the best thing that ever happened was now happy in the arms of another man.
Although it hurts I'll be the first to say that I was wrong Oh, I know I'm probably much too late To try and apologize for my mistakes But I just want you to know I hope he buys you flowers I hope he holds your hand Give you all his hours When he has the chance Take you to every party 'Cause I remember how much you loved to dance Do all the things I should have done When I was your man Do all the things I should have done When I was your man

Wings
Characters: Sam x Angel!Reader, Dean (mentioned), Kushiel (OFC)
Warnings: Violence, language, implied smut, fluff
Word count: 1.5k
Description: An angel comes after the reader to punish her for her crimes involving Sam
A/N: I really liked coming up with this for @the-awkward-writer ‘s 500 follower challenge. I haven’t really seen any angel!reader fics around. My prompt for this fic was Wings by Little Mix. I love the song and tried to use some of the lyrics in the fic subtly. Hope you all enjoy it. Masterlist
Story:
You wince as you’re slammed into the rough brick wall. Your attacker smooths his suit with one hand, the other raised keeping you glue to the wall. “Kushiel, please, you don’t have to do this! He’s innocent-” he cuts you off mid-sentence with a small flick of his wrist. “Sister, he has lead you astray. He deserves punishment.” He says coldly. “Brother please! I beg of you, let Sam go. You can do what you want with me but leave him out of this!” Your plead again. But the angel doesn’t listen, instead turning his steely glare to Sam lying unconscious on the floor. “Please-” he flicks his wrist again, this time restricting your air flow as he makes his way to Sam.
One week ago…
“Hey, you alright?” Sam inquires. Massaging your forehead with your fingers, you let out a heavy sigh. “Things are not optimal right now Sam.” He chuckles a little at your odd phrasing before placing a comforting hand on your back. “Angel radio again?” After nodding in response, he takes that as a cue to sit with you. “They’re mad Sam. Furious, actually. They want we to go back to Heaven and never come back.” You sigh again, not noticing the worried look now on Sam’s face. Your superiors have never liked your closeness to the Winchester’s and their moods are only getting worse.
When you’d first met the Winchesters five years ago, you’d only ever been on earth a few times before. They were your first proper assignment. Your job was to observe, advise and report back to Heaven. Only no one had anticipated your thirst for learning when it came to humans or your love for people. And nobody had expected you to become so close to Sam.
The two of you got along straight away, spending a lot of your time researching together. You had a lot in common for an angel and a human. He was kind, honest and was the total opposite of your superiors, who you had grown to dislike. Over time, being in the company of the two brothers helped you see that you didn’t like always doing what people told you to, especially if it meant hurting humans. And your superiors hated them for it.
After refusing to do the last assignment they gave you, they’d been yelling at you down angel radio constantly. What they wanted you to do would have cost lives, human lives, and you weren’t willing to condemn so many innocent people. While the decision earned the admiration of Sam and Dean, you were yet to hear the end of their ranting from upstairs. You’d begin to suffer from frequent headaches listening in to them lecturing you. “What else have they said?” Sam asks, his hand moving in small circles on your back sending a tingle up your spine. “Not much. But I think I should probably go back.” You mumble. Sam stops moving his hand for a moment. “Y/N?” His voice has a stern undertone. “They… They said… If I don’t go back, they said they’re going to come after Dean and you…” You hang your head low. Unexpectedly, Sam wraps you in a bear hug, rocking back and forth slightly. Relaxing a little, you turn on your seat, hugging him back. “Well, you shouldn’t let what they say keep you up all night. Come on,” he whispers, “I know a place that might cheer you up.”
Sam drives the two of you in a ruby red car from the bunker to a wooded area; Dean had hidden the keys to the Impala. The two of you lie on the bonnet, staring at the stars. You explain the constellations to him, he listens intently to each story. After a moment of calming silence, Sam turns to you, propping himself up with his elbow. “You’re not like any other angel are you?” “In what way do you mean?” you ask, copying his position on the hood. “Well, you’re kind, you love people and you’re not afraid to rebel when you don’t agree.” He speaks quickly. In the twilight, you just about about see him blush as he avoids your gaze. “Sam, I…” “It’s true! You’re so special Y/N. More than you know.”
Both of you stare into each other’s eyes for a while, not wanting to spoil the moment with words. You care for Sam deeply, more than any human or even angel you’ve ever met. Very slowly, the gap between the two of you closes. Your lips meet in a gentle kiss. The tingle you felt before returns, this time throughout your entire body.
Your lips part and you rest your foreheads together. Hesitantly, Sam leans in again, his hand moving to the side of your face. You meet him halfway, kissing him more passionately. He tenses a little in surprise but quickly relaxes again as he kisses you back.
“Are you sure? We don’t have to if you don’t-” “I want to Sam. With you.” You say, cupping his face with your hands and kissing him softly. Sam moves his hands to yours shoulders, letting you take the lead. You break the kiss to start unbuttoning his shirt. When you reach the last button, Sam takes his turn, slipping your jacket off your shoulders. Goosebumps rise on your bare arms and the hairs stand up on end in anticipation. After shaking off his shirt, the two of you kiss again and Sam lowers you into your back. The cool leather of the seat causes you to gasp a little. He breaks away again, only to give you a look to say ‘Are you okay?’ to which you nod. Biting your bottom lip, you pull him down into another kiss.
“Holy shit!” You breathe giggling with Sam. It’s funny, the first time you heard the phrase, you’d questioned it’s meaning- how could excrement be a focus for worship? But now, it’s one of the many phrases you’ve picked up that help you feel like you fit in on earth. Snuggling into Sam’s chest, you smile. You now understand the tingle you feel, why you feel a connection with Sam. You love him.
The following week is filled with sweet moments. Sam greets you with a kiss every morning, you surprise him with coffee and breakfast (only for him obviously, as an angel you don’t eat), the two of you hold hands when researching in the library, he hugs you tightly whenever the angels get too loud. Perfect. That’s the only word you can think of to describe how it feels when you’re with Sam. Only perfection doesn’t last forever. Not when another angel ambushes you.
Present time… All you can do is move your mouth and make squeaking sounds as Kushiel wields his angel blade menacingly. Sam stirs slowly back into consciousness. “Y/N…” “Sam…” You wheeze, barely making a sound. “Samuel Winchester, you have persuaded an angel to disobey their orders, rebel against heaven and lay with a human. You are hereby sentenced to an eternity in Heaven behind bars.” Kushiel commands, raising the blade. “NO!”
The angel flies backwards into a collection of trash cans as the forces holding you against the wall release you. Rage bubbles inside you and you feel a strange power take over you. “YOU WILL NOT HURT HIM!” your voice booms, deeper than usual. From the corner of your eye, you see Sam looking genuinely terrified. With a swipe of your hand, Kushiel buckles over in pain. “You can take my grace, my power, my wings, I don’t even care. But you cannot take Sam from me!” You move your hand again and Kushiel rises until his feet can’t touch the ground anymore. “Sister-” “NO! I don’t want to hear you talking. I want to hear the sound of your wings leaving and never returning!” He doesn’t respond so you clench your first, causing him more pain. “Sister please! I’ll leave. Just spare me.” You wait a moment to watch him, make sure he’s being honest. Then, you release him to fall on the ground, the power inside you weakening.
“Y/N? Please Y/N/N wake up!” Your hear Sam from the darkness. Oh wait, no. Your eyes are just closed. Fluttering them open, your met by Sam smiling down at you back in the bunker. “That was really stupid you know. You could’ve been hurt!” “I don’t think it was me.” “What? What d'you mean?” Sam asks concerned again. “When I fought back, it didn’t feel like me. It felt like someone else was in control.” You sit up against the headboard to explain. “Like possession?” “No, like old powers that have been there all along, hidden. And… being in front of Kushiel about to die… see you die… it woke them up.” Sam ponders what you said for a moment. “I care about you Sam and I could never forgive myself if something happened to you because of me.” You breathe deeply before speaking again. “I love you, Sam.”
Sam looks taken aback. But a smile shines from his face. “I… I love you too. I guess I have for a long time I just… I didn’t want to frighten you. What with everything going on and-” you stop his nervous rambling with a kiss. “It doesn’t matter if I fall from the sky, lose my grace and become human. I love you Sam Winchester.”

hello! new follower here, i came across your 500 followers post and i could not resist!
can i request neck kisses in a bar for a celebration (of what? up to you!) with one portgas d ace? thx a bunch🌟
Aww heyo friend! Thanks for being so patient with this ask!! I am excited to answer this one for you!💖💖💖
Babe Below~!
Portgas D. Ace
It was a night of celebration, though most of your friends had already experienced this milestone, this was new to the brunet who took the shot and closed his eyes in agony. The party cheered as he took his first drink as a 21 year old, it didn’t surprise you he wanted to wait for this moment to drink, he always did try to follow the rules when he could.
Leaning against the bar next to the man, you patted his back and offered him some water to wash away the bitter drink. Giving you a look of thanks, he chugged the water while the rest of the party continued to take shots. Smiling, you leaned up and kissed his cheek, gaining a blush from the freckled man.
“Hey you can’t take advantage of a drunk man.” Laughing, rolled your eyes while he scooted closer, going to kiss your own cheek, but you had moved to get out of his way, still laughing while his lips ended below your ear. “Seems like your taking advantage of me now.”
Blushing slightly, both from embarrassment and the fire in his stomach from the alcohol. “You know I didn’t mean to do that.” Rubbing his hair, he turned to pout, but was pulled by your hands on his cheeks, giving him a kiss on his lips this time. “I didn’t say I didn’t like it.”

Miracle Queen Aftermath
Because there is a disappointing lack of focus or depth for the aftermath of Miracle Queen in canon, I have made my own.
Be warned of: Chloe salt. A lot of it. Chloe faces consequences for things.
Some Bustier salt. Some Adrien being called out on things (but he gets better).
Enjoy!
In the weeks following the Miracle Queen incident, a lot had happened.
Hawk Moth had increased his power, and was now able to summon akumas and amoks at the same time.
Master Fu was gone and now Ladybug found herself the official Guardian of the Miraculous—along with the Miracle Box, kwamis, and duties that entails.
Marinette had resolved to let go of her crush on Adrien, and to support him and Kagami in their new relationship together.
And Chloe had been arrested and would now be going on trial for assisting a terrorist.
It was that last bit of news that had caused the most commotion in Paris and the world at large. What people would have dismissed as simply another akuma attack turned into a much greater matter when accusations started to be made about Chloe helping the super villain intentionally. This was soon backed by multiple eyewitness accounts and further proven by leaked video evidence showing Chloe not only attempting to grab a butterfly for herself after she was de-akumatized but even negotiating with the terrorist before the incident in which she betrayed the heroes of Paris and revealed the identities of most of the team.
To say that the people of Paris were outraged was putting it mildly. People were akumatized over it. Chloe was in a secured facility where she had armed guards around to watch her just as much as they were there to protect her. New legislation was being considered to specifically address willingly aiding supervillains. The backlash was so severe that many were calling the mayor’s own position into question.
After all, if his daughter could do all of that, who was to say that he wasn’t also in Hawk Moth’s pocket?
For Mayor Andre, his hands were tied. While he had covered for his daughter and her selfishness in the past, this was one thing he couldn’t overlook. Not when it brought his position as mayor under scrutiny. And certainly not when it opened a probe into his own dealings.
None of this was helped either by the multitude of witnesses of Chloe‘s past behavior. In particular, her many victims over the years.
And there were a lot.
Now that Chloe was actually being held accountable for something, it seemed to have opened a floodgate of outcries as the many people she tormented finally felt able to air their grievances. They came out on TV, on social media, on radio. Stories littered the air and internet of the horrors of dealing with this single teenage girl.
“She tried to cheat during this designing competition. She apparently stole some other girl’s hat design and tried to pass it off as her own.”
“She was the reason the mayor tried to shut down my ice skating rink! To build another gym! Paris has enough gyms! Why couldn’t she just go to one of those?”
“She had her dad shut down Clara Nightingale’s music video and got her akumatized just because she didn’t get to play Ladybug. We waited in that line for HOURS and didn’t get chosen either, but no one else threw a fit over it.”
“She shoved a giant signed poster of Adrien Agreste professing his love to her in my friend’s face just to make her cry! I found out after the fact that he didn’t even know about it!”
“Our entire school was punished for someone pulling the fire alarm except for her because she threatened our principal. So while the rest of us were having to clean up the school, she spent the entire time insulting and making fun of us.“
“Knowing her, she probably pulled the fire alarm in the first place.”
“She tried to crash a train! I don’t think I can emphasize that enough: she tried to crash a train!“
“Chloe Bourgeois joined up with Hawk Moth? Can’t say it’s a shock.”
“Yeah, given how many akumas she caused, I’d been wondering if she hadn’t been working with him all along.”
It wasn’t that unbelievable to the populous. Nor did anyone feel particularly sympathetic towards her for her current situation. Some might have for lack of knowing her, but Chloe had carved herself a special place in the memories and hearts of nearly every Parisian. There was nobody who didn’t know of her or have some experience with her by this point. So when it came out that she was arrested and facing criminal charges, the response was…rather telling.
Practically everyone was calling loved ones as soon as they heard, resulting in high phone and internet traffic. The Ladyblog crashed after making the announcement. Several people threw parties. People over the internet started coming up with a list of “Things We Will Be Allowed To Do Once Chloe Is In Prison”, with a count that currently rested at 139 and was rising quickly. One guy bought 500 cupcakes and just started passing them out to people on the street singing a jaunty little tune from some late 1930’s cult classic American movie. The school had closed down for a couple of days due to several teachers calling out sick—possibly with hangovers from celebrating a bit too hard. Various Queen-related hashtags and memes were trending with each seeming to fight for the top spot of most used. #let her eat cake was currently in the lead. And Mr. Ramier somehow orchestrated a 21 pigeon salute. On Chloe’s rooftop.
As it was, nobody expressed surprise when it came out that she worked with a supervillain. Many were disappointed, shaking their heads and saying “if only something had been done sooner” or blaming the parents and teachers and other adults in her life. Most were angry, mainly that things had been allowed to get this far and that they hadn’t been acted on earlier—particularly after the train incident.
But no. Nobody was surprised.
Except, perhaps, Marinette herself.
Still reeling from the events of Miracle Queen and the aftermath of…well…everything involved, Marinette had been questioning herself. Constantly. Incessantly. Going over and over in her mind all the things she could have done differently. Blaming herself for all the major blows to their team.
She lost her mentor. Her allies have been compromised. Chloe, one of her former allies, chose to betray them all. Hawk Moth had the grimoire now. Marinette didn’t have a grimoire. Fu had no memories.
And it was all because of her mistakes.
Last time, the prospect of never having to deal with Chloe again had been a relief.
Now…it was background static to her.
She could barely hear the announcements and cheers over the endless cycle of her own thoughts.
I should have tried harder. I should have been more aware. I failed them all. This is because of me.
So while everyone else in Paris was celebrating, de-stressing, or just outright reveling in the news, Marinette was grieving. With the help of the kwamis and Chat Noir, she had been trying to come to terms with what happened and figure out the next plan of action.
Hawk Moth had changed the game, so she needed to step up hers.
The days seemed to have passed in a blur. Between working with the kwamis, trying to recreate and retranslate the grimoire, and simply trying to deal with the remnants of Fu’s life that he had left to her, Marinette had barely even kept up with the current state of things in Paris. Or in particular, Chloe.
Not until the day came when Bustier made an announcement.
Chloe‘s trial date was finally decided. And though she didn’t say as such, it was clear that the case against her was pretty solid. There was video evidence. Eye witness accounts. And Chloe’s own words and actions working against her.
The odds were not in her favor on this. Even if her parents did try to help her, she wasn’t going to get off this time. Aside from getting the best lawyers money by, there really wasn’t much they could do.
Maybe that was why Bustier had tried to step in?
“Now class, I have received word that they are moving to the next step with Chloe’s hearing. Right now, they are looking for character witnesses for Chloe’s defense.” The kind teacher explained, causing Marinette to snap to awareness and realize just what was going on. Partly because of the mention of Chloe and her court case.
But mostly because of the sudden dead silence in the class…
To be fair, she wasn’t sure she could say anything either. Marinette felt her throat go dry and her muscles tense. There was a sudden tightness in her lungs that while she could breathe, it felt like she was suffocating. Why was Bustier bringing this up now?
The teacher smiled, seemingly unaware of the sudden tension and Marinette’s slow drowning. “I know this has been a difficult experience knowing that one of your classmates is facing such a trial. And Chloe will certainly need support. So I thought it would be kind if everyone wrote a letter supporting her for the hearing coming up, so the courts can hear about Chloe and understand more about who she is.”
Silence. Dead silence.
Maybe Bustier herself picked up on the growing tension, as she proceeded to move to passing out papers to the class. “I thought it would make for a nice project, so I will give you all the forms explaining the requirements. Take some time to think over what positive things you want to say about Chloe. If you have any questions, please feel free to come talk to me.”
After that, she quickly left the room, citing the desire to let them have this free time to work on the letters.
The class remained silent for a good minute after she left. Almost as if they were questioning if she would return. Or perhaps if she was listening.
Then—
“‘Think about what positive things we want to say about Chloe?’ Well that’s easy!” Alix spoke blithely, curling the paper she received into a ball. “Nothing!” She shouted and tossed it over her shoulder. “Assignment done!”
Murmurs filled the classroom. Some sounded uncertain, but most seemed to be in agreement. Or at least expressing distaste for the assignment.
“Is she serious?”
“Does she really expect us to?”
“Of all the worst ideas...”
Marinette could hear them, but couldn’t seem to acknowledge anything around her. And furthermore, she couldn’t make herself respond.
Chloe‘s trial was set for a point in the next few weeks, and at this point there was no denying just what type of person she was. If anything, this was probably the first time that anyone was allowed to actually speak their mind about the girl, and they were all reveling in it. Her classmates in particular.
Marinette couldn’t quite bring herself to.
Sure, Chloe has tried to blackmail her more than once.
And damaged her gift to their teacher.
And attempted to frame her a few times.
And stolen her hat design.
And her diary.
And a Miraculous.
And all of the other Miraculous.
But...she had been doing better for a while there, hadn’t she?
Didn’t she only betray them all in the end because Marinette had chosen Kagami over her for her own selfish reasons? Didn’t Hawk Moth only capture Fu because of her own mistake? Hadn’t Chloe only revealed everyone else because she felt betrayed? Couldn’t Marinette have done more to prevent Chloe turning?
Wasn’t a simple letter on Chloe’s virtues the least she could do?
So why...
Why couldn’t she seem to bring herself to?
Kim frowned, looking at his paper in worry. “We’re not going to get graded on this, are we?”
Nathaniel huffed. “I’ll willingly take the failing grade any day.”
“Hear hear!”
“But if it’s a grade…” Max murmured to himself. Out of everyone in the class, he took his grades the most seriously, so this was no doubt a difficult choice for him. He looked at his paper with a rather conflicted expression for a minute before sighing and turning it face-down on the desk. “No. It’s an impossible task in the first place.”
Kim rested a hand on Max’s shoulder in sympathy. It wasn’t that he cared as much about grades as Max did, but it was clear that the fallout of refusing could be more troubling for the genius who took his academic performance so seriously. If Bustier did make it a mandatory assignment with a grade, it’d be horribly unfair of her.
“What was it Chloe said before?” Ivan asked, looking over his page with a glare. “Once a monster, always a monster? I guess she’d know more than anyone.”
Mylene hugged him. “You’re not a monster. You never chose to be.”
“None of us did.” Nino agreed.
“Nobody did except her.” Alix bit out.
Mumbles of agreement came from the rest of the class. It was clear that none of them were on board with having anything to do with Chloe, much less try to help her with her current legal woes.
There was a large part of Marinette that agreed with them. But even so, there was also a large part of her that insisted she had to do the right thing and help.
She knew she should say something. She was supposed to say something here. Because it was her fault, after all. She was Ladybug. She had to be the better person. Shouldn’t she?
“Marinette? Girl, are you okay?” Alya asked, drawing her attention. “You look a bit pale.”
It was too much. It was suffocating.
“I think I need some air. Excuse me.”
She didn’t know if anyone watched her leave the classroom. She hadn’t even noticed if anyone had chosen to follow her.
Not until…
“Marinette, are you all right?”
She spun around in surprise.
“Oh! Adrien! Hey! Hi! Hello!” She blabbered. Why was he here? Did he come out after her? Why? She didn’t need this right now! She struggled enough with him under normal circumstances, she wasn’t sure she could handle being alone with him now. Her stress over everything was bad enough, but having him approach her set her anxiety skyrocketing.
“Hey,” he replied, smiling at her—and oh, what a beautiful smile. On any other day, it would ease her worries and make her want to swoon, but right now, it just made her more nervous.
“Are you all right?” He asked again. “You didn’t look so well in class.”
“Y-yeah. Just…” she sighed. “I just have a lot on my mind. With…you know…everything.”
He nodded in understanding. “I know what you mean.”
She smiled. She could always count on Adrien to be a calming supportive friend. He was always so sweet and reliable. If anyone could understand or relate to the chaotic mix of emotions she was feeling, he could.
He sighed in sympathy. “Poor Chloe.”
She froze.
“Chloe?”
“Well, yeah.” He replied, like it was obvious. “I mean, she did a bad thing, but now she’s going through the worst experience of her life. One that could ruin her future. And people are glad about it!” He shook his head. “It’s just too cruel.”
Marinette just stared.
He wasn’t wrong. But…that was what he was worried about?
She couldn’t fault him of course, because Adrien was always so kind and considerate and of course he’d feel for Chloe but…something about this just…pulled at something inside of her and was choking it.
“Chloe is already suffering enough and it feels like no one wants to help her. You heard them.” He gestured back to the classroom. “We’re being given an opportunity to make a difference for her and they’re all just saying she deserves it. Chloe is alone and hurting and they want her to hurt more.”
She felt a denial on her lips but couldn’t give voice to it.
“Everyone is so great with each other. It’s always just Chloe who is kind of on the outside. I know you’ve seen it.”
She hadn’t, actually. Because it was never Chloe on the outside looking in, it was Chloe looking down on them. Whether it was because she genuinely thought she was better or because it made her feel better to do so.
He hesitated for a moment before looking at her. And there was something in his expression that told her he was about to ask something. A gut feeling told her that it was going to be something she wouldn’t like.
“Do you think you could talk to them?” He asked her, looking so sad and despondent that she just wanted to hug him and agree to anything to make that look go away.
“M-me?”
He wanted her to convince her classmates to help Chloe?
“I know you and Chloe have had your differences, but you’ve been able to see past her front. And you’ve done a lot to help her before.” He smiled. “Like the party you threw for her after she became Queen Bee.”
A traitorous voice asked if giving her a second chance with the Miraculous she had previously stolen wasn’t enough? Why did she have to feel bad for her leaving and throw her a party to make her feel special?
“Chloe really needs the help right now. And you’re always so good about that sort of thing.” He looked to her imploringly. “Do you think you could try to get them to at least give Chloe a hand? I don’t know what impact it’ll have in her hearing, but any little bit helps, right?”
Go back in there? With the tension and the suffocation to try and convince her classmates to help when she was questioning whether to herself?
But she had to, right? After all, couldn’t she have prevented this if she had acted sooner? Couldn’t she have helped sooner instead of being focused on her own petty problems? Isn’t that what Ladybug should do?
“Please, Marinette? They listen to you. If you asked them to, I’m sure they’d be willing to at least try.”
Her vision started to dim, seeming to tunnel in on Adrien and his sad and hopeful expression. Her thoughts crying about CHLOE and poor CHLOE and how hurt CHLOE was and how it was her fault for CHLOE—
“I—”
“Oh no! No, you do NOT.”
Marinette suddenly found herself torn away from Adrien by a sudden grab of her arm and pulling sensation. She felt as if she was pushed out of the way by a fierce gale. Like a raging whirlwind had spun her around and behind it.
That whirlwind’s name was Alya.
“How dare you? How dare you try to make my girl be responsible for this!”
Marinette floundered because she had not expected this and oh no now her best friend looked ready to tear her crush’s head off!
“Alya, we don’t have to do this!” She pleaded, trying to calm the other girl down.
“Oh, we most certainly do.” Came another voice. And sure enough, the rest of the class had stepped out as well. All of them looked in varying ranges of frustrated and that frustration was clearly directed at her and Adrien.
Or rather just Adrien, as Marinette discovered when Rose and Juleka pulled her aside and out of their direct line of sight. They were all looking at Adrien, and those were not nice or understanding expressions.
Oh no! This was a disaster! Now everyone was upset and she should have just agreed or said something sooner!
Completely unaware of Marinette’s inner turmoil, Alya stepped forward and jabbed at Adrien in the chest. “You are not going to make my girl feel bad and try to help someone who has never done a single nice thing for her or anyone.” She spat out, forcing him to back away.
Adrien held his hands up in a placating gesture. “Come on, Chloe is not that bad.“
“Not that bad?” Nino exclaimed, shaking his head in disbelief at his friend’s words. “Adrien, Chloe betrayed us!“
“She took over Paris!”
“She turned us into her servants!“
“Not to mention the other things…”
“Do we really have to name each time?” Alya started to count on her fingers. “Chloe CHOSE to take the Miraculous for herself instead of returning it. She CHOSE to transform in front of everyone and reveal her identity to the world. She CHOSE to try and crash a train, risking the lives of EVERYONE on board just to show off. She CHOSE to run off with it when Ladybug tried to take it back.”
“She also chose to continue being horrible to everyone even after Ladybug gave her a second chance.” Nathaniel added, bitterly. “She didn’t get better after becoming Queen Bee. It just became another thing for her to lord over people.”
Alya nodded. “And when Ladybug made it clear to her that she wasn’t going to be Queen Bee again, she felt ENTITLED to something that was never hers in the first place. And because of that, she made the active, knowing, and willful choice to work with Hawk Moth.”
“And out all of us while she was at it.” Kim added. “Turning us into her personal ‘guard’. Making us fight our heroes against our will.” He shuddered. “I don’t know if you were hit by those things, Adrien, but it was NOT a pleasant experience having your body turned into a puppet.”
Adrien wanted to argue that he understood full well, but that was only as Chat. He couldn’t say that here.
Unaware of his inner turmoil, Alya continued. “So no, we are not going to forgive Chloe. We are not going to try and ‘get along’ with her because her own poor choices have led her to have a ‘rough time’.”
Adrien grew nervous at the way the others drew closer to Alya as she spoke, clearly backing her statements as she continued.
“We are not going to defend her or speak up on her behalf to the entirety of Paris she ALSO betrayed. Whatever consequences Chloe has to face—quite possibly the first ones she will EVER have faced in her LIFE—are nothing less than what she deserves.”
“Yeah!” Came the exclamations from the rest of the crowd.
“She didn’t know what she was doing!” Adrien argued.
“Not know what she was doing?! Adrien, she willingly accepted an akuma! She used it to take control of us and revealed us to Hawk Moth!” Alya exclaimed. “That’s just—how can you even justify that?”
With as angry as Alya was, any lesser or wiser man would have backed off.
Adrien…well, she certainly would never call him unwise, so it had to be because he was more strong-willed than that to be willing to stand his ground here.
“Hawk Moth was the one who manipulated Chloe!” He insisted. “And he’s the one who got away scott free and left Chloe to take the fall.”
“And whose fault was that?” Alya countered. “Chloe HELPED him. He only got as far as he did because of her and he only got away because she helped him!”
“Don’t you think this is cruel?” He argued back. “Yes, Chloe was wrong, but she was already called out for what she did by Ladybug and Chat Noir. The entire city hates her. Isn’t that enough?”
“NO!” Alya shouted. “No, it isn’t! Because Chloe has always gotten away with her antics in the past but you’re actually trying to get us to let Chloe off for a legitimate crime here! If Chloe is going to prison, it’s only because she deserves it!”
Around them, several of the others in the class nodded in agreement.
“How can you say that?” Adrien demanded. “Chloe made a mistake and she’s suffering for it! All this time, she’s felt left out and cut off and this only further emphasizes that for her! She’s been alone all this time and now she’s alone and miserable!”
“Then why should that be OUR problem?” Alya questioned, raising her hands in exasperation. “Why are you trying to MAKE it our problem?!”
Adrien drew back, looking genuinely hurt.
"But treating someone badly never made them become a good person."
"Yeah, because letting Chloe have her way all this time has totally made strides in her path to becoming a good person." Alix called out sarcastically.
"If anything, it's made her worse." Max added. "She's gone from simply causing akumas to intentionally becoming one."
“But—”
Alya cut him off. “But nothing, Adrien! You have to have some gall to be trying to get us to make nice with Chloe after she betrayed us all! And here I thought your little lecture to Marinette to make her feel bad for being relieved that Chloe was leaving Paris was pretty hard to beat.”
Nino blanched at that. “You did what?” He turned on Adrien. “Dude! You know that happened after Chloe tried to crash that train!”
“She was just trying to prove herself.” Adrien weakly argued.
“PEOPLE were on there!” Nino bit out. “They could have DIED because Chloe was showing off! And you got on to MARINETTE? Where was this attitude with Chloe?”
“I’ve called her out!”
“Yeah, one time.” Alya groused. “AFTER the rest of us had spent the better part of the day cleaning up after HER mess. Which she never apologized for or admitted to doing, by the way.”
“And in response, she threw a party.” Juleka muttered.
“It was a nice party, sure.” Rose added quickly.
Alya though shook her head. “But being a good hostess is nowhere near the same thing as being a good person. And before the night was over, you rolled over for her and she went RIGHT back to acting as she always had.”
“She made Mylene cry.” Ivan glared. “She made Mylene cry and you just laughed.”
“I didn’t mean—”
“You said it yourself: ‘she’ll never change’. Except you said that like it was a good thing.”
Marinette looked back and forth between the two, everything inside her screaming at her to help. But she was completely lost on which one she was supposed to help. Because Adrien had a point about what Chloe’s going through but Alya was right about what Chloe did and she needed to do the “right thing” and help Chloe but why did everything Alya say resonate so strongly with her and bring such a feeling of vindication—
No. She was getting distracted. She needed to help. And right now, it was Adrien against the rest of the class.
But Alya was worked up. And Adrien was looking past her to Marinette, eyes begging for help and still so hopeful that she would step in. And Chloe was still in prison and Marinette could fix everything if she just tried so why can’t she try?
“Alya,” Marinette tried. “You told me to give Chloe a chance before after the fire alarm incident, remember? You said we were a lot alike.”
“That was to get you to go to a party!” Alya shouted, making Marinette step back in surprise. “I never meant it like this!”
She stepped forward and took Marinette by the shoulders, holding her sternly.
“Marinette, you are nothing like Chloe! Not where it counts! Yeah, you both can be short sighted when it comes to trying for what you want, but you at least notice and CARE how other people feel! And when you make a mistake, you at least TRY to make it right!”
She shook her head.
“Chloe…doesn’t.”
“She doesn’t try to.” Alix cut in. “If Chloe was feeling sad and lonely, that was pretty much her own fault.”
Adrien looked like he wanted to argue, but Alix didn’t even give him a chance.
“It wasn’t like we left her out. We went well out of our way to try and befriend her. We invited her to things. We tried to help her. Hell, you said it yourself—Marinette has tried to help her more than anybody! And each and every time, Chloe only took what we offered like it was something we owed her but that she was also too good for. I mean, I certainly can’t recall a time she ever thanked me. Can you?” She asked, turning to the other classmates.
All around them, there were murmurs of agreement. Maybe a couple hesitated as they tried to recall a time—one single moment of kindness on Chloe’s part only to come up empty.
“Chloe’s had a hard time.” Adrien insisted. “You know how her parents are—”
“Oh yes, her ‘Daddy the Mayor’.” Alix rolled her eyes. “Like we don’t hear enough about him every time it comes to something Chloe wants. She only threatens us or anyone with him every other day.”
Adrien shook his head and tried to explain. “It’s only because her parents aren’t there for her emotionally.”
“Again, not seeing how this is our problem? Or justification for anything she’s done to us? Or how this excuses her willingly helping a supervillain?”
“Because we’re her classmates!” He argued back, gesturing to all of them. “Out of everyone, we’ve all had the most interactions with her.”
“All of which were negative.” Came a cutting remark, followed by grumbling.
“There were good times, too!” Adrien insisted with a frown. His eyes spanned over the assembled classmates before they came to rest on one in particular. “Kim, you have to have seen Chloe’s good side. You liked her before.”
“Before.” Kim replied, emphasizing the word and the timeframe it referred to. “But being humiliated and her sending out that pic to everyone in school kind of crushed that crush.”
“How did she even have our numbers?” Ivan asked.
“But there had to be something that made you like her in the first place.” Adrien encouraged.
The taller boy shrugged, uncertain and uncaring. “Maybe so, but was it something that was really there? Or something I just wanted to see? Because I’m looking back and quite frankly, I don’t know what past me was thinking.”
“Wow, that’s deep, man.” Nathaniel whispered.
“Thanks!”
Seeing Nathaniel gave Adrien an idea. “Wait, Nathaniel! Didn’t Chloe let you put her in your comic?”
“Forced us to, more like.” The artist bit back. “And even when we tried to fit her, we got nothing but complaints from her. It was no wonder we never got past the initial concept art for her character.”
Adrien winced. “It was an attempt, at least?”
Nathaniel wasn’t buying it. “A poor one.”
“She’s been trying to be better.” Adrien was getting increasingly frustrated. This was not how he was expecting this argument to go. “Rose? What about you? You’ve seen it, haven’t you?”
After all, Rose was sweet and caring, always willing to see the good in anyone. Surely she would have something nice about Chloe!
Juleka frowned at him over his focus on her girlfriend and moved to stand beside her. “Don’t push her.”
Still he tried.
“Rose?”
“I’m sorry, Adrien.” Rose said, hugging herself. “But Chloe has done nothing but hurt people. And going out of our way to protect her has only ended up biting us.”
That wasn’t true. Not...all the time at least. There had to have been at least one instance where she did the right thing!
Adrien brightened in realization. “Didn’t she catch you when you fell after being deakumatized during Heroes Day?”
The blonde girl frowned. “Well, yes…but she wasn’t very nice about it. Even though I did the same for her before.”
“Rose, come on…”
She shook her head. “I put myself at risk to help Chloe when she was being chased by zombies, and only got turned into one for my efforts. Chloe never appreciated it. She never thanked me. She didn’t even do anything to help when we were trying to keep her safe!”
“We all ended up kissing zombies because of her.” Alix accused, crossing her arms and looking particularly annoyed. “And not just because she caused the akuma in the first place.”
“Why are you pushing this?” Mylene asked. “We’ve been asked. We said no. Isn’t that enough?”
“But—”
“Adrien, you’ve got a good heart.” Ivan started.
“Easy for him when he’s not the one who has to be on the receiving end of Chloe’s tantrums.” Alix cut in, clearly sounding bitter.
“You’ve got a good heart.” Ivan repeated, sending Alix a look that asked her to back off. “But Chloe…doesn’t.”
Adrien shook his head, remaining insistent. “That’s why she needs help.”
“If she needs help,” Mylene spoke, “It should come from her parents. Her teachers. Any of the adults in her life. She has plenty of adults who are fully capable of helping her. It should not be expected to come from the kids she’s spent years tormenting.”
She gestured to herself and the others around her. “And that’s what she’s been doing: tormenting us.”
“To great joy, might I add.” Max droned.
“She hasn’t been cruel to everyone.” Adrien muttered.
That brought out a backlash of outrage.
“She outted my crush!”
“She insulted Mylene’s cooking and made her cry!”
“She got Aurore akumatized and nearly caused Paris to be incinerated in a volcano!”
“She tried to push Mylene out of the lead role of our movie!”
“She locked Juleka in the restroom!”
Wait...
But that hadn’t been Chloe. She had stayed with the class at the time. The one who did do it was...
He glanced around until he saw her—a redhead in the background behind the rest of the class. She looked anxious and uncomfortable, and almost seemed to be trying to edge around the class to get to the stairs.
Adrien did seem aware. Or rather, he was focused on the fact she was there.
“Sabrina? What about you? Chloe was your friend!”
Of course she would help! Because who better than her own best friend to speak on her behalf?
The rest of the class broke into mutters as they realized the same.
But Sabrina...bit her lip and looked away. Refusing to even meet Adrien’s gaze.
“Sabrina?” Marinette tried, concerned about this reaction. Sabrina had been Chloe’s best friend—or at least the closest thing she could have to a friend. “Minion” or “Servant” would be more accurate. “Slave” would be more honest.
The girl had been Chloe’s only real fan and follower, and had assisted Chloe in some of her worst plots.
Marinette had briefly seen another side to her. A girl who was so desperate for friendship that she latched onto even the slightest bit of kindness and went to the greatest of extremes to appease the “friend” so they wouldn’t leave her. It was no wonder she had fallen in with Chloe—someone like that was perfect for the spoiled girl. Compared to her, Marinette’s anxieties and need to please were nothing.
And Chloe had pretty much been her world for years.
What must she be feeling now?
“Should we really be getting her opinion?” Ivan whispered. “You know how she and Chloe were…”
“Well, if anyone would have anything positive to tell the courts about Chloe, it would be her.” Mylene whispered back.
Sabrina took a breath and spoke quickly—almost shouting in her rush.
“I’m sorry but my therapist said I shouldn’t!”
That got a surprise. The rest of the classmates glanced to each other before looking back to the girl. Adrien in particular looked shell-shocked. Marinette couldn’t blame him. She felt the same.
Sabrina for her part seemed to tense up, as if ready to defend herself from the rest of the class.
Marinette stepped forward. “Sabrina? Are…you okay?”
The other girl shook her head, looking close to tears.
“After word got out what Chloe did, the police had to question me about Chloe. They were able to see that I wasn’t involved, but they…didn’t like what I told them about our relationship. Afterwards, my dad decided to have me see a counselor and she…has been telling me things that I hadn’t really considered.” She curled in on herself. “They all think I should stay away from Chloe and anything directly related to her…for my own health.”
Adrien frowned at that. “But don’t you want to help Chloe?”
Sabrina jumped. “Of course, I do!”
“Hold up, Adrien!” Nino stepped in. “She just said police took her in because of Chloe!”
“But they let her go…”
“It still happened!” Mylene argued. “It doesn’t matter how nice they are, how innocent you know you are, or if you’re released in the end, it’s still terrifying when it happens!”
"And it only happened to her because of Chloe." Alya added.
Rose, in her infinite sweetness, reached out to take Sabrina’s hand in support. “I’m sorry that happened to you.”
Sabrina sobbed and covered her face. Aside from Rose, no one else really attempted to comfort her. Most of them simply watched her, pitying her current state. But they also remembered how complicit she had been in Chloe’s schemes, so they were conflicted. While they did feel bad for her current situation, there was a part of most of them that noted how she had brought it upon herself by being Chloe‘s lackey for so long, so their sympathy was limited.
Perhaps it was out of awkwardness, or maybe an attempt to give some respect for Sabrina’s privacy that the classmates turned away from her and instead focused on the heart of the argument.
“Man...” Nino tried. “Maybe you should let it go?” Though it was clear from his tone that he knew it wasn’t likely.
Because Adrien had still not given up, it seemed.
He looked around between of the classmates, growing more desperate. But those that remained either looked at him straight on as if daring him to call on them or looked away. A few of them even closed ranks as if to block his view of certain others. It was clear none of them were willing to help him on this.
None of them except…
“Marinette.” He called out, drawing her gaze to him instantly. “You understand, don’t you?”
She bit her lip. “I…”
“Back off, Adrien.” Kim said, giving the other boy an angry frown as he stood in front of her to shield her from his gaze. “It’s not on Marinette to help Chloe.”
“Yeah! She suffered more than any of us!“ Ivan shouted.
“She has been Chloe’s main target for years.” Nathaniel agreed. “She is the last person who is obligated to help Chloe now.“
Adrien winced at the harshness of their words and in their tone. “I just thought that Marinette could help. Like before.”
“Just because she could doesn’t mean she should have had to.” Alya countered. “She’s a teenager. Dealing with Chloe should have been the job of adults. Her parents. Bustier. Damocles. Any one of them should have done something—and if they can’t, the courts will. It’s their job. Not ours.”
“And getting her to help you wouldn’t make a difference anyway even if you had convinced us.” Max said, shifting his glasses. “Chloe helped Hawk Moth. There is nothing we could say that could undo that. And even if we did try, we would either be guilty of committing perjury or aiding in a conspiracy.”
“What?” Adrien jerked in surprise.
“The best we can do is be character witnesses.” Mylene explained. “But this is a court and we can’t claim something that isn’t true! We can’t say anything nice about Chloe when she hasn’t done anything nice!”
Max nodded and shifted his glasses. “Furthermore, our testimonies—even if they were positive—would only serve to create a narrative about Chloe and the type of person she is. They can’t explain away the current evidence against her.”
He rubbed the back of his head. He knew there were issues, but he also knew Chloe. He knew what she could be like. He knew she was a good person deep down. “I know she’s made some mistakes—”
“No.” Alya stated sharply. “Calling them ‘Mistakes’ implies that her actions were unintentional. ‘Mistakes’ implies that people were harmed by accident. ‘Mistakes’ implies that she would have any point learned from them. They weren’t mistakes, Adrien. They were willful acts of cruelty every single time.”
Ivan shook his head, pityingly. “We can’t save Chloe from this. We have nothing to say in her defense. The kindest thing we can do for her is stay silent.”
“She’s better than you think she is. She threw that party once for everyone, remember? You all went.” Adrien reminded them.
“That only proved that she could throw a party and be a good host, not that she could be a good person. There is a difference.” Nathaniel pointed out.
“Not that Chloe could tell.“ Alix sniped.
Adrien ignored the barb. He had given up on getting any of them to listen and now only had eyes for her. His last hope.
“Marinette….come on…please.”
She hesitated.
Everything in her that was Ladybug and her crush on Adrien and her desire to make people happy and take the high road and give second-third-fourth chances wanted nothing more than to give it to him.
Except...
There was a long pause. No one spoke.
The other classmates have had their say. They were letting Marinette have hers. And she knew in that moment that if she spoke up…if she did as Adrien wished and tried to help Chloe…she knew they would go along with her. It may be more out of respect for Marinette than it would be out of any sort of forgiveness for anything Chloe had done, but it would still help Chloe and it would still make Adrien happy.
…and hadn’t Marinette already done that enough?
“Did you know?” Marinette started, not looking at anyone. “I would have been well within my rights to press charges against Chloe?”
Adrien balked at that.
“She’s stolen from me at least three times now.” She shrugged. “I mean, sure, I wouldn’t have been able to do anything about my diary since she had Sabrina steal it for her, but she did steal my hat design for a competition and I had proof. I could have pressed charges against Chloe and let her face some consequences…but I didn’t.”
She looked up at Adrien. “I also could have pressed charges for what she did to my gift for Madame Bustier. Since she did break into my locker and vandalize my property while it was still technically mine…but I didn’t.
“Adrien.” She spoke almost in monotone, the only sign of her emotions being how she clenched her fists. “Did you know that after the fashion show, my parents and I took a train to get home?”
He furrowed his brows in confusion. What did that have to do with anything?
“It was the same train Chloe took control of and nearly caused to crash.”
Several gasps resounded around them. Apparently this had not been common knowledge.
“Even if Chloe could have bought her way out of any consequence for the other things, we all could certainly have had her face some major trouble for that one…” Marinette took a shuddering breath. “But we didn’t.”
Adrien frowned. “I…I see that—”
“No, I don’t think you do.” She cut him off. “Because instead of any of that…rather than hold Chloe accountable at any point, I catered to her. I tried to understand Chloe. I tried to make things nicer for Chloe. I tried to excuse Chloe. Time and again. Just like everyone else. Just like you wanted me to. Just like you’re asking me to now. And what did that get us?”
The more she talked, the more words filled out and she was unable to stop the torrent.
“I defended her from Alya after Madame Bustier was akumatized, and Chloe stole a Miraculous and nearly got my family killed. I helped Chloe bond with her Mom—costing myself any chance at a once in a lifetime opportunity in the process—and Chloe tried to get me banished from Paris just for saying she wasn’t a superhero. I threw Chloe a party to show her some appreciation, and she willingly worked with a supervillain to take over Paris. Just to fuel her ego and because she felt she was owed something that wasn’t hers.”
She tilted her head, considering.
“What is that American saying? Three strikes and you’re out?” Her eyes narrowed. “I have given Chloe more than three chances. I have done nothing BUT give her chances. And clean up after her. And just…try to help her. At no point has she been grateful. At no point did she ever apologize. Or show the slightest bit of remorse for anyone she hurt. Or just…try to do better.”
She stepped forward. Past her classmates. Past Alya, who looked ready to tear into Adrien herself.
“So tell me, Adrien. How much more am I supposed to do? What miracle am I supposed to achieve to help Chloe to be a better person that I haven’t already done?”
“You can just try.” Adrien begged. “Chloe’s alone. She has no one in her corner. You’ve given her chances before! Can’t you find it in your heart to give her another chance this time?”
“Why haven’t you?” Alya demanded.
Adrien drew back in surprise at that.
But the girl wasn’t letting him off. “If you’re so certain Chloe is the victim in all this, then why aren’t you stepping up to help her? Why are you pushing Marinette and the rest of us to do it?”
Alya wrapped an arm around Marinette in support. “If you truly believe Chloe has some sort of inner goodness that only needs the right person to bring it out, then it’s pretty clear Marinette is just not that person. She’s tried enough.”
Alix nodded. “I’m pretty sure she could’ve demolished a brick wall with how many time she’s banged her head against it by this point trying to drag a decent person out of Chloe.”
Others in the class also nodded and gave sounds of agreement to that.
Adrien frowned, lowering his head despondently. “I’m just one person. There’s only so much weight my word will have. I just...I just want to give her the best chance.”
“That’s nice for Chloe, I guess.” Kim muttered. “But not much for us.”
Adrien looked up in surprise. “What do you mean?”
Alya stepped forward, releasing Marinette in the process. “Adrien, why should we as Chloe’s victims have to help protect her? That’s the thing we’re not getting here. WE are the ones she hurt. WE are the ones she betrayed to Hawk Moth. So why are WE supposed to try and save her from her own consequences? Why are you wanting us to?”
Adrien hesitated.
“Can you even imagine what it was like? Being frozen in time. Unable to move or speak? Only able to hear her voice in your head? Feeling your body respond as she’s calling you and being unable to stop?” She clutched her arms, as if trying to hug herself. “Do you have any idea how terrified I was knowing what she was doing to us but being completely unable to stop it? How humiliating it was when she had us bowing to her and calling her our Queen? And then…” She took a breath. “She made us fight our heroes. Ladybug and Chat Noir trusted us to help them and we used the Miraculous they entrusted to us to try and kill them.”
“We were just lucky that they were able to turn the tables on us.” Kim muttered. “I don’t even want to know what would have happened if we had won.”
“Luka still has nightmares.” Juleka whispered. “He won’t talk about it, but he hasn’t had a good night’s sleep in weeks.”
Marinette winced. She hadn’t even considered that everyone else could be suffering ramifications of Miracle Queen as well.
“We could have killed them.” Max stated. “Given the nature of the Snake Miraculous’s power, we very well could have more than once for all we know.”
“Maybe you wouldn’t have killed them?” Rose suggested, trying to be positive. “I mean, Chloe wanted all of the Miraculous, right? She probably wanted them as her servants as well.”
Max glared. “I’m pretty sure I attempted to send Chat Noir into space. Even a Miraculous can’t protect someone from that.”
Adrien tried not to wince at the memory. How he managed to even move enough to activate the Miraculous, he still wasn’t sure.
“We fought against them. We never wanted to, but we did.” Alya bit out. “Not even because of Hawk Moth this time, but because of Chloe. And now you are wanting us to just…overlook the trauma of the whole thing to help Chloe after what she did. For something she hasn’t shown even the slightest remorse for.”
She shook her head.
“I know you’re nice, Adrien. But this level of kindness is a cruelty.”
He winced. And it looked like he wanted to argue. But he just…wilted.
“I just…it feels harsh. What’s happening to her. The amount of hate she’s getting. That her entire life could be over.”
That was true. While they felt her current status was well deserved, it was a harsh sentence for anyone. Especially a teenager.
Nathaniel sighed. “Adrien, it is harsh. Maybe cruel. But fact is that she still brought on herself.”
“Isn’t that just victim-blaming though?” Adrien countered, frustrated now. “I mean, Hawk Moth manipulated her! How was that her fault? He’s the one who did it. She was…” He clenched his fists in anger. “Chloe is a victim.”
“No, we are the victims.” Alya insisted, gesturing to herself and the other revealed former heroes. “We were the ones used to fight our heroes. We were the ones who had our identities revealed to the world against our will. And now we are the ones having to live with the results of Chloe‘s choices, just like we always are.“
Adrien looked ready to argue. And maybe he would have, except...
Nino rested a hand on Adrien’s shoulder.
“Adrien. Dude. Just stop. We have enough to deal with and this…this isn’t helping.”
Adrien frowned at that, concerned by his friend’s attitude. “Nino?”
Nino lowered his head. “I wasn’t going to say anything. Really, I was trying not to think about it. But my parents are currently talking with police about their options. Now that I’ve been exposed as one of the temporary heroes, they’re questioning if it’s not safe for us at home anymore. There is a chance of us having to go into protective custody.”
Alya winced at that, drawing attention to her. “My parents have been talking as well. My mom quit her job. She said she doesn’t want to work for someone who would let their daughter do such a thing and put me in danger. She’s looking at drawing me out of school since it was pretty much Chloe‘s base of operations. And since Chloe is the Mayor’s daughter…and Hawk Moth…and just…everything?” She looked away, clearly anxious.
“There’s a chance we may have to move out of Paris altogether.”
Marinette gasped.
Alya looked to the other girl, sad and guilty all in one. “I’m sorry, girl. I guess I’ve been hoping it wouldn’t be an issue. I’ve been trying to talk them out of it, but it’s hard given everything that happened. Currently, the only reason they’re willing to stay is to see through to the end of the trial. But after that…” She shrugged, shaking her head uncertainly. “Who can say?”
“No…” Adrien whispered in shock.
The others in class came closer around her, trying to offer some comfort and reassurances—what little they could give, at least. This was a situation that was clearly beyond them. Marinette herself hugged Alya tightly for all she was worth, and the other girl held her back just as much, neither wanting to be parted.
Adrien, however, remained on the outside looking in. Watching the people Chloe had tormented even before Miracle Queen and realizing just how badly they’ve been hurt by this. It hit him then—for what was perhaps the first time just how much pain Chloe had caused his friends. And how unfair he had been to expect them to simply deal with it.
He stayed the lone person outside of the circle. By this point, did he really deserve to join in the comfort? To try to be the one to give comfort? After what he had tried to push on them all?
After minutes passed, they were finally able to draw away from each other.
“I’m sorry for not saying anything sooner.” Alya told Marinette. “I guess I was just hoping…y’know…that it wasn’t real. Or that it would go away and things would work out on their own.”
Marinette smiled. “No, I understand.”
And she did. That’s exactly what she herself had been doing for the past few weeks as well. Trying to deal with things without really dealing with them. Working without acknowledging just what it all meant because she was scared she would break down and that would be just one more thing Hawk Moth would have won because of this whole mess.
“I was kind of the same way.” She admitted, and it felt like a slight relief to be able to say aloud to someone. “I’m sorry I couldn’t talk to you about it.”
She still couldn’t, unfortunately. Not about Ladybug and the kwamis and the Miracle Box.
But…she could talk about Fu. How she lost him. How she feels. She could help support Alya and her classmates and be there for them in the meantime.
She…hadn’t lost everything.
Not yet.
And that was the scary thing…
Adrien gaped at the group. He had thought the trauma was bad enough, and that at least could be worked through. But this...
“I’m sorry. I...I didn’t even realize...”
“Adrien, what Chloe did put a major target on our backs.” Alya explained. “Nobody knows how we became heroes, or that Ladybug was the one to specifically choose us and give us the miraculous to use. Nobody knows WHY we were chosen. It’s not just Hawk Moth, any regular criminal can come after us now in an attempt to get a hold of that power. And we can’t exactly protect ourselves.”
She shrugged helplessly.
“We kind of have enough to worry about with the fallout of Chloe‘s actions. And now you want us to try and protect Chloe on top of that?“
Seeing it now, in this light...it was cruel. It was cruel and unfair and hurtful, and Marinette felt horrible for considering letting herself be talked into it.
Adrien himself felt horrible for even suggesting it.
“We all have to live with the consequences of Chloe’s choices.” Alya stated. “So why shouldn’t she?”
Silence followed. It practically echoed throughout the entire hallway.
He said nothing in response. What could he possibly say? He’d known that Chloe was…difficult with other people, to say the least. He’d known the type of person she was. But she was his friend and friends forgive and support each other, right?
But they were right as well. It wasn’t fair to expect them to help Chloe after what she did. Especially once he knew of the level of harm she’d caused them. He felt the horror trickle in. The trauma everyone felt. The knowledge of what they’d been forced to do. The fact that…
He suddenly found it harder to breathe.
Nino could leave.
Adrien could lose his best friend because of this.
And who knew how many of the others would be forced to leave as well. Aside from Nino; Kim, Max, Alya, and Luka were other heroes as well. Juleka was Luka’s sister. And how many of the other classmates might be pulled out of this class and school because it’s unsafe? And Kagami—oh god, she was outted as well. He hadn’t heard from her in a while. Her mother is probably furious. She could move back to Japan because of this. And Marinette…she had been lucky to not be caught up in that fight since she was a hero only the one time, but that could have been just one more thing Chloe ruined for her…
…what about himself?
He paled.
He was longtime friends with Chloe. Went to school with Chloe. Was in class with Chloe. Chloe, who was currently getting a lot of heat from all of Paris. How was his Father going to react to that? The man was always focused on the company and appearances…what would he do now that Chloe had fallen from grace in such a way? Would he forbid Adrien from talking to Chloe again? Would he pull Adrien from school?
…would he ban Adrien from leaving the house altogether?
How was he only just now considering the impact? For himself or anyone else? Of course people would be hurt. Of course they would be upset. Of course people would respond. Somehow, he knew that, and yet he had only been focused on Chloe that it hadn’t actually hit home until now…
And in that light…
It had been selfish to ask. Honestly, he’d known that when he first tried to approach Marinette. But he felt he had to try. Honestly, part of him had known better than to ask in the first place. But at the same time…there was a part of him that still believed things could just go back to “normal”.
…how foolish. That was a “normal” that nobody else wanted. And even more, it was one that was now impossible…all because of Chloe herself.
“I just wanted to help.”
He deflated, losing all remaining fight.
“I’m sorry.”
The classmates glanced between each other. There was much they could have said, but really, anything they could have said already had been. And with him seeming resigned, it appeared there was no longer a need to defend themselves.
Marinette—ever the mediator, stepped up and hugged Adrien.
“Adrien, this isn’t something you can help with. None of us can. What happens in the trial is up to the courts. And what happens to Chloe is up to her.”
Slowly, he reached up and hugged her as well. The warmth and comfort brought some limited solace in this situation. He felt lost. Out of control. Like the world was moving around him and he didn’t know where he was standing much less where he was supposed to be.
They weren’t ready to forgive Chloe. And he couldn’t force them to be. Given the circumstances, he couldn’t blame them. And it was really unfair of him to try. Especially…
“I’m sorry, Marinette.” He whispered to her.
He had tried to use her. Looking back, he had a bit of a tendency to rely on Marinette to fix things when she shouldn’t have had to. Especially when it was for Chloe’s sake. He knew plenty of times Chloe had done things…but he always seemed to overlook how hurt Marinette was because of it, simply due to how well she always appeared afterwards. She was strong and confident, but also a good listener and willing to forgive. It was like nothing really brought her down.
It was due to this that Marinette was often the one he turned to whenever things happened. Because she would listen. She would understand. And she would always try to help, regardless of her position.
In this light…he may have over relied on her too much.
“I wasn’t fair to you.” He admitted. “I just saw Chloe hurting and only thought about how to fix things for her. I didn’t consider your feelings.” He hugged her more strongly. “I’m sorry.”
She didn’t speak. But she squeezed him back.
He felt another body press against him. A quick glance showed it to be Nino.
“I’m still super mad with her. And I don’t like how you tried to push us to defend her after what she did. But I get that she’s your friend and you care about her. I’d do the same if it were you in her place.” He gave a small laugh. “Not that I think you ever would, of course.”
Adrien smiled back. “Thanks.”
This…this felt much better.
Things weren’t okay right now. He still wanted to help Chloe. His classmates were still hurt. People were still angry. Hawk Moth was still out there.
But whatever happened...in this moment, he felt they could make it.

Lay Me Down
Characters: Sam, Dean, Reader, Crowley, Zydeco (OFC)
Prompt: My prompt was the song Lay Me Down by Sam Smith
Summary: The death of her wasn’t what broke him. It was that he was no longer with her. How does one cope? Or do they simply fix the problem?
Word Count: 2.2k-ish
Warnings: angst!, fluff in the end, death(??), bad writing
a/n: This is my fanfic for @the-awkward-writer‘s 500 Follower’s Challenge. I just wanna say that I’m sorry it’s late. School’s been a bitch. But congrats Chloe!! much love
Yes I do, I believe
That one day I will be, where I was
Right there, right next to you
To put it plainly, she was dead and Sam knew that, but he didn’t believe that. He had the mindset that she was going to come back from her hunting trip. Dad did, so why couldn’t she?
She had always called him every day when she was on a hunt. This one lasted for two weeks, or maybe longer--he didn’t know. For a week, calls came in every day from her. Then it became once every other day. And then there were none.
Today, the ceiling never seemed as interesting to him before as it did now. The fan spun at such a fast pace, but he never once took his eyes off one blade. It had a piece chipped off of it. He wondered about what had happened to that blade. Maybe something hit it and it feel. Or maybe it even shot at by one of the Men of Letters before him.
He remembered that fan for more than just the imperfection of it. He had noticed it the night that he met her. It wasn’t expected to happen that way, it just did; that was the beauty of it. They weren’t supposed to meet. They weren’t predicted to find each other all just found it’s way together.
It wasn’t just the fact that she was there that today that intrigued him.It was the small blush that crept on her cheeks whenever he had introduced himself as he sat on the bar stool next to her. It was the way she used her manners when talking to the diner’s waitresses. It was the little thing her eyebrow did whenever she was judging someone in her mind, but too sweet to say anything out loud.
That was the night that he noticed the chipped fan blade.
At the time, he hadn’t known that she was like him--a hunter. It just came to pass that the next day, on his next hunt, there she was, FBI suit and all. He knew she was just a counterfeit copy of one by the way she stood. She was all too professional about it.
She laid next to him that night, tracing random shapes on his bare chest and again, he looked up at the fan with its one fragment missing. That night and every other night that they spent together since then, that’s what he saw.
Oh, how he missed that night. She was so smooth--not just her body, but everything about her. She was smart and sly. Her eyes were a creamy color, a home-y color. Everything felt good about her.
He thought about laying with her now that she wasn’t here with him and he hated it. He loved being attached to her, but with that came consequences. She was the eye of his hurricane of a life.
“Sam,” he heard from his door. He hadn’t even noticed that someone had opened it. There stood Dean, hunting uniform on, so without a second though, he was up and reading, getting changed for whatever venture he was headed to next.
The moon and the stars, are nothing without you,
Your touch, your skin, where do I begin?
Part of him hated to say this, but he wanted to be next to her. He missed her warmth although she was probably cold now. One day, maybe not one day soon, but one day, he would be next to her again and he couldn’t possibly wait.
Anyone with half an eye could see that this made a difference in him. He was moved dramatically, more than anything else in his life. Not even his dad disgracing him from going to college changed him more than this.
Dean felt for Sam. Although his situation with Lisa was different, he understood what it was like to have someone pulled away from him. Hell, Sam even carried around her diamond necklace that he bought for her in his back pocket anywhere he went. But Dean was determined this time. This case would get him pumping again. This would be the life-changing job.
Halfway through the trip, Dean finally spoke up to his mute brother, “You ready for the case?”
For a few seconds, Sam sat quietly, contemplating his answer. He didn’t want to talk about his feelings with Dean. He was coping as best as he could and he didn’t need his brother to be making it tear-fest. So with a shrug, he answered, “Yeah, I guess.”
“Good,” Dean replied, “because I’m going to need all of the help that I can get.”
Sam shot his brother a puzzled look, “Dean, you can handle anything, why do you need my help?”
A sly smirk shone across his face, “Well first, thank you. I know I’m pretty awesome.” Sam rolled his eyes, but didn’t mind to correct him. “And secondly, it’s gonna be a lot of research. From what Jody told me, this looks like another love call to the dead?”
“Like that time that grandma was having phone sex with her dead husband?” Sam asked, a superficial chuckle in his voice.
“Yahtzee.”
Sam remembered that case all those years back. That crocotta was one son of a bitch.
Then an idea popped in his head. “Hey, Dean. You remember that witch that we met in Mississippi a few years back? Zydeco?”
With a slightly concerned look on his face, Dean said, “Yeah, at Bonnie’s. Need some witch work?” He winked at his brother, a smirk forming on his face.
“Actually,” he sighed, “I do.”
Sam pushed the crocotta into the ground, noticing the wound in the center of his back looked worse than it had a first. It didn’t bother him, though. With this new formed plan in mind, nothing would.
A spark of light later, the crocotta was ignited and Sam and Dean stood over it, a small victory in hand.
“So you’re going down south or what?” Dean turned to his brother, hands tucked away in his jacket pockets.
“Yeah, just maybe for a few days. You gonna be okay?”
“I can hold the fort down for a couple of days. Do what you gotta do.” That smirk rose on his face again and he held his arms out for his brother. Sam followed his suit and hugged him right back. He would miss this soon enough. He knew he would, but he would see her again and that’s all that matter to him.
I’m reaching out to you
Can you hear my call?
When Sam got to Bonnie’s, he wasted no time. He ran into the bar and immediately asked the bartender where Zydeco was. The man pointed towards a room off to the side. It had no door, but jewels were hanging on string from the ceiling to the floor.
Sam rushed towards the room, not even caring about the stupid jewels. He walked in to see a woman sitting at a wooden on the far side of the room with her eyes closed. She reminded him of Missouri, but he didn’t mind that right now.
Candles were lit all around her and he could tell she was working on a spell. She opened her eyes at the sound of his heavy breathing. “Come in, Samuel,” she motioned for him to sit across from her.
Hesitantly, but not slowly, he made his way, sitting oppositely from her.
“So what have you come to me for, today?”
Sam pondered for a few seconds before speaking up, “I need to get in contact with my girlfriend.”
Zydeco let out a soft chuckle, “And where might she be? You know you can make phone calls, right?”
“Behind the veil,” he answered bluntly.
Her eyebrows almost reached her hairline at his straightforwardness. Of course she knew the otherside existed, but never thought Sam Winchester would ever want to go anymore near death than he normally did on a daily basis.
“Can you do it or not?” he asked impatiently after she hadn’t answered him, but only looked at him shockingly.
“Yes, I can do it,” she huffed, rolling her eyes, “Do you have something of hers?”
He nodded his head and showed her the beautiful diamond necklace. Not that he wanted to say, but he gave Y/N that for her birthday and he knew she loved it more than anything.
Zydeco took it from his hand and began to walk around the room, grabbing spices and other ingredients here and there. By the time she was finished, a bowl was set in front of Sam and things laid all across the table.
“Are you ready?” Zydeco asked him with an imploring look.
“Yes, now let’s go,” he urged her.
She sighed again, but began performing the spell anyways. Loud, vigorous chants left Zydeco’s mouth as she threw herbs into the bowl along with Y/N’s necklace. She motioned for Sam to give her his hand and he did willingly, without any question. With one swift motion, she cut the palm of his hand and squeezed his blood into the bowl.
Sam hissed at the sudden rip of his skin, but he didn’t bother stopping Zydeco by any means.
“Mortuum tuum videre!” she yelled finally and for a second, everything went black for Sam.
Waking up, Sam found himself in what seemed like exactly where he was before he had passed out. Only now, everything seemed dull and lifeless, so he knew he was where he was supposed to be.
He turned around and started looking frantically for Y/N. She had to be here somewhere. He lingered past Zydeco’s jewel door and saw her standing by the bar. She wasn’t sitting or even leaning on it. She was only standing there, staring off into space.
“Y/N,” he called out, hoping to see her smile again, but she didn’t budge. Maybe she hadn’t heard him, so he called her name again and stepped closer to her. Again, she didn’t move an inch.
What was she looking at that made her tune him out? He tried following her gaze, but nothing of even slim importance was there.
He inched closer and closer to her, but didn’t call her name again. He didn’t want to scare her away when this was his only chance to be with her.
When he got close enough, he touched her shoulder gently and whispered, “Y/N?”
She was a stone wall to him and he believed it was that she simply couldn’t see him, not that she didn’t want to see him. He knew by then, there was no way she could even feel him grazing her shoulder; there was no way she could even hear him calling for her.
So he did what he thought best--he stood in front of her and stared at her. He would do this forever if he could. Although he couldn’t see the glimmer in her eyes or the way she twitched her nose whenever she caught him staring, he thought she was the most precious thing and he couldn’t let go of that. He wouldn’t.
And then he saw her blink. He could’ve sworn he saw it and he knew he did. His gut was telling him that there was something about this that made it different. Smiling to himself, he began to have hope again. He knew she was going to see him again. There was a way. There was always a way.
Lay me down tonight, lay me by your side.
Zydeco was only a witch and Sam knew that, so he did what had to be done: he went to Crowley. Well, Crowley came to him, but that was besides the point.
A smug look came before Crowley said anything. Sam knew that Crowley knew what he wanted.
“Where’s your squirrel?” He asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Besides the point, Crowley. I’m here to make a deal.”
“Ahh. What finally made you crack?”
There she was, beauty and all. Her body was no longer laying lifeless, but only laying in exhaustion. When she opened her eyes, Sam couldn’t help the tear that found its way rolling down his cheek.
“Babe, what’s wrong?” Her hand caressed his cheek lightly even though it was painful. “And wow, your hair has grown. How long was I out for?” she joked, unknowingly.
He brought his hand to hers and held it softly. After a moment, he kissed it and wiped his tears away with his opposite hand. “I love you, Y/N.”
A smile shone across her face and she blushed a little. “I love you too, Sam.” She scooted to the side of the bed and patted the now-open space next to her. “Come cuddle.”
Sam surely wasted no time laying next to her. Her head laid on his chest and he instantly brought his arms around her and held her.
She yawned after a second and asked, “So what happened to me?”
Being able to lay down next to Y/N made Sam more at home than he had ever had before. Silence filled the air because he wanted this moment to last for as long as it could have. When he could feel her breath steadying, he knew she had fallen asleep. He kissed her head and whispered, “You’ll know in 10 years, babe.”

"Another Time, Yeah?"
Tuesday 15th June 2021
(Part One & Part Two)
Hello again everyone, as promised I'm back with another post - 3 blog posts from me this week, that's more than I did last week!! But anyway I'm going to review everything from Tuesday's episodes in this post.
So without further ado, I'm going to begin with mentioning Ruby. The day after her second miscarriage, Martin is surprised to learn that once again she has every intention of going to work and forgetting about the events that have occurred. Martin tries his best to convince his wife to rest for the rest of the day but as Ruby tries to explain her reasons for wanting to go to work, she notices the screen on Martin's laptop, it shows that he's been looking up options for IVF.
Understandably, Martin is trying to help in any way he can to make sure he and his wife have they family they've been longing for. However Ruby makes the valid point that it's not the getting pregnant that's the problem, it's being able to stay pregnant. Martin tries to explain that if they really want to have a family they can consider other options available, but Ruby then drops the bombshell that after everything she's gone through she really can't bring herself to go through any more trauma and loss. She informs Martin that instead of trying to fight to have a family, she's going to embrace the family she already has.
However, later Ruby is seen alone, visiting the memorial that she and Martin created for their lost baby, she gently adds another stone to commemorate the second baby she has lost. As the camera spins we see that just across the patch of grass, Jean is sat on her own but as she turns around and notices Ruby, she joins her. Jean realises exactly what's happening and speaks softly to her. Informing Jean about the decision to not try for another baby and to accept the family she has, Jean makes a very touching statement - "You know what I see? I don't see a woman who's given up, I see a woman who's grieving, and I believe there's still a lot of fight in you!" - as beautiful as those words are, it completely hits Ruby to the core and she softly begins to cry, such a moving moment.
--
The next thing I'm going to mention is Tiffany and Keegan. It's the day of their photoshoot and Tiffany is completely excited about the press and media attention. Wanting to get her name out there also, she informs Keegan that she's come up with a name for their joint business - Something along the lines of "ButcherBakerBeauty-Baps?" ... (I'm sure they'll come up with a better name eventually!) Suddenly when Tiffany sees herself in the mirror she's horrified to see that the day of their photoshoot she been graced with a spot on her chin, frantically she begins to flap, claiming that she needs to look good for their photoshoot - I have to be honest the main thought that was entering my mind at this point was "The photoshoot isn't even meant to be hers so why is she making such a fuss?" - without meaning to be mean, but I don't know I guess it just didn't sit right with me, she shouldn't be focusing on her and should be supporting her husband instead.
As Tiffany calls her friend in desperate need of some assistance, it seems that her friend manages to get someone round to do Tiffany's make-up. However when Tiffany compliments the stylist's skin, the lady informs her that she does cheat by using injections such as Botox and fillers. Realising that injecting herself with something could change her appearance to the way she wants, Tiffany urges the beautician to use the injections on her for her photoshoot - even though the beautician warns her it can be very pricey! Again, I have to be honest - as soon as I realised that Tiffany was going to ask for injections my mind just went racing - how much do you want to bet that Tiffany is going to become addicted to beauty injections?! It could be a possible new storyline for her which could end with serious consequences?
Even though she is thrilled with the end results, Tiffany is shocked to see the price she has to pay for the treatment and asks whether she can pay half now and pay the rest within in the next couple of days. Later as Keegan and Tiffany are enjoying the photoshoot - the photographer is keen on focusing on Keegan and asking him questions about his business. But when Keegan tries to turn their attention to Tiffany so she can promote her business/brand - you can see that the photographer is the least bit interested.
The next day, as everyone is gushing about the article in the newspaper about Keegan, Tiffany buys herself a newspaper hoping to see a whole page spread of herself and her husband in the newspaper. But she is visibly devastated when she realises that she hasn't even been mentioned and the whole article is about Keegan and his business. She later voices her annoyance and devastation to her friend Chloe, claiming that she has spent a fortune on injections for nothing! But worse still, how is her husband going to react when he finds out she's spending money on things she doesn't need!
Chloe then suggests that in a way to make as much money as she can so Keegan won't suspect anything is for her to flog diet pills. She claims she doesn't know how they work and has never used them but manages to sell them and get decent enough money for doing so. For a split moment I had hoped that Tiffany would know better than to sell some dodgy diet pills, but it looks as though she is very tempted. Later when she meets up with Bernie, she confides in her friend about the money she has spent on fillers to make herself look good for the photoshoot.
Of course Bernie is sympathetic towards her friends, but then suddenly Tiffany starts rummaging in her bag for something and empties out the contents of her bag, quickly Bernie notices the tubs of diet pills she's in possession of and asks where she got them from and whether they work, it's then that Bernie drops the bombshell that she needs to lose weight quickly, and Tiffany is a bit surprised by her choice of words, asking why "Quickly". It's then that finally Bernie feel able to tell someone about her plans and informs Tiffany that she's agreed to be Rainie and Stuart's surrogate, much to her best friend's shock. Tiffany warns Bernie to be careful where Rainie and Stuart are concerned because when she offered to be their surrogate she recalled that they didn't leave her alone. But Bernie is adamant that she needs the money for her family and claims that her Mum believes that she'll be getting a bonus from the call centre. Eventually she practically begs Tiff to allow her to use the diet pills, she claims she can be her guinea pig in a way and will pay her once she's made her money from the surrogacy. Tiffany looks really reluctant to do so but makes Bernie promise that she'll read the instructions before taking them.
Honestly, I fear this is going to be a massive downward spiral for the both of them. Tiffany getting hooked on beauty injections and then Bernadette getting addicted to diet pills and both making themselves ill. What do you guys think?! I'm really intrigued to hear your thoughts on this one!

Elsewhere on the Square, Shirley is still reeling about the news of Linda's pregnancy, she still can't understand why she wasn't told much earlier on when she arrived back in Walford. She admits to Nancy and Frankie that she feels as though her family are shutting her out. I have to say though I loved the banter between the three of them in this scene. Nancy tries to swerve the conversation from her parents sex life to Shirley's own love life and happens to point out that she hasn't been with anyone since Buster!!!
Oh my goodness, do you guys remember Buster??? It was proven that he was in fact Mick's biological Dad, which makes him Nancy and Frankie's Grandad. Hearing that Frankie has a Grandad seemed to excite the girl, but she and Nancy still continue to make fun of Shirley - claiming that for her next birthday they're going to buy her a pair of slippers and a throw as they claim it's time for her to hang up her knee-high leather boots. I do love the jip that Shirley snaps back at them, it makes the whole scene much more comical and the dynamic between them all is just brilliant!
It's then they Frankie points to Terry sat on his own and urges Shirley to ask him for a drink, at first Shirley shows no interest but after being goaded by her Granddaughters, she eventually gets the courage to approach Terry and (in not so many words) informs him that he will be buying her a drink. The one thing that completely confused me though was that Terry called himself by the name "Rocky" as he introduced himself to Shirley, can anyone explain to me why? His name is Terry right? I don't understand where the "Rocky" came from? - Unless it's similar to Callum's name - Callum "Halfway" Highway?!
Meanwhile, as Terry agrees to have a quick drink with Shirley, Sonia is at home prepping a lovely roast dinner meal for herself and her Dad to celebrate and early Father's Day. But back in the pub, as Shirley and Terry begin to chat and get to know each other, Nancy and Frankie keep showering them with drinks. As the sisters notice that they appear to be getting on, Nancy places down another drink in front of them claiming it's on the house, while Frankie sneakily changes the time on the clock.
Terry is adamant he can only stay until 1pm as he has a lunch date with Sonia, but as he looks at clock to see he still has plenty of time, he continues to drink. Unfortunately though, both Frankie and Nancy reveal to each other that instead of giving them single vodka drinks, they've been serving them triple vodka's all shift. Eventually as things get a bit loud, Nancy and Frankie realise their mistake. Shirley and Terry are both drunkenly singing along to "Come On, Eileen!" and then eventually "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)".
I have to admit, even though it was hilarious watching drunk Shirley singing along to the music and having a laugh with Terry, you do feel sorry for Sonia as you realise that Terry has accidentally stood her up for her meal. Arriving at the Vic and seeing the drunken state her Dad is in, she demands Terry to leave Walford and to never come back. Over the next day or so, Terry is desperate to make it up to his daughter and he appears to think that the only way he can do it is to roll out the red carpet in her house for her and make her a meal of her own and instead of calling it "Father's Day" makes it a "Daughter's Day".
As Sonia agrees to give him one final chance, they make it up by taking a selfie together. But when Terry leaves his phone on the table and Sonia takes a look at the picture, she begins to scroll through his phone and sees that there are other photos of houses on his phone. What could these mean? Is he planning on moving to Albert Square for good? OR is he in some kind of business where some of the local properties are going to be knocked down? Who knows?!
--
The next thing I have to mention is Kat and Phil. Kat is completely excited to learn that things are on the move where her business with Phil is concerned. Phil has confirmed that he has bought the laundrette for their business opportunity and they're just waiting for the paperwork to go through. Only her happiness doesn't seem to last for long as when she enters the café and is confronted by Sharon, it seems that Sharon warns her that anything that Phil is involved in is never legit. Although Sharon's relationship with Phil was completely different compared to Kat's relationship with him, it seems that Sharon's words fill Kat's head with doubt. Eventually she takes it upon herself to confront Phil, claiming she wants to see the paperwork to make sure everything they're doing is legit. She claims that she has already been prison once and doesn't want to end up there again, she needs to be completely certain that going into business with Phil is the right thing to do. I think people are too easy to judge Phil, they should give him a break, he informs Kat that he shouldn't listen to a word that Sharon's said and to trust him, he wants to focus on their future and having something in place for both of their children, but more importantly if she is wanting this as much as he does, then she needs to learn to trust him. I still think that if all goes well for these two, Kat and Phil could potentially be the new power couple on the Square! What do you think?!
--
Lastly, Callum is still appearing to struggle with the trauma of what happened with his partner. The one person he's been able to confide in is Whitney. After anxiously waiting to hear news about his partner's condition, he was completely relieved when Ash informs him that Fitzy's operation was a success and he should make a full recovery.
As he excitedly informs Whitney about the good news, Whitney reminds him that he should tell Ben now, considering that Fitzy is going to be okay. Callum kind of shuts that comment down and asks Whitney whether she'll accompany him to the hospital to see his partner. However, without their knowledge, Ben sees them from across the Square getting into a cab together, I have to say Ben & Callum's married life hasn't really started off well has it? They've come back from their honeymoon, Phil is still reluctant to talk to either Callum or Ben as he stills holds a grudge against Callum for going behind his back, and Callum has had to deal with the trauma of witnessing his partner being stabbed on the job.
But even though Callum maybe wants to tell Ben about his, Ben did at the start find it hard to accept Callum in the police and had the cheek to ask him to quit, but realising that he loves Callum for who he is and not is job, changes his mind and just requests that Callum never speaks about work to him. So of course, with that in mind, Callum must feel that he has no one else to talk to about recent events, which is why he has leaned on Whitney over the past couple of days. But when Ben sees them getting into that car together, you can tell he's beginning to speculate what they could be up to.
Unfortunately, after returning from seeing Fitzy in the hospital, it looks like it hasn't really helped Callum cope with it, he begins to fret and lash out claiming it was his fault that he's in hospital with wires all attached to him. Almost hurting himself on the garden gate, Whitney acknowledges that she has seen Callum this way before, and it's all down to his PTSD - (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) - we know that he went through it when he was in the army, but now it appears to be resurfacing. The one thing that crossed my mind was, is Ben aware about Callum's PTSD? Has that always been a thing that Ben has known about, I'm a bit unsure?
However, it seems that Whitney is eager for Callum to inform his husband now more so than ever that what's been happening. But when Callum arrives home and Ben asks him how his day at work was, Callum lies to him once again claiming he's had a really busy day and just wants to have a shower alone. Now Ben knows that Callum is lying about being in work, so obviously he's going to be wondering what else he's lying about or not telling him. As Callum makes his way into the shower, Ben grabs his opportunity to search his rucksack and it seems he's completely stunned to find an engagement ring - of course he's going to be completely clueless and wondering why his husband has an engagement ring, but we know that before Fitzy was rushed to hospital, Fitzy gave it to Callum to give to his girlfriend.
I think Callum really needs to talk to Ben soon before he jumps to conclusions and lashes out, accusing Callum of something he's completely innocent of. Overall a good few episodes I have to say, I've really enjoyed being able to type up a couple of blogs this week, I was getting myself a little stressed out that I was so far behind and hadn't posted in a while, but again I want to thank you all for continuing to follow me and show your interest in my blog, it really means the world. Please feel free to send me any thoughts or opinions you may have on the current storylines. Enjoy the rest of your week and I'll be back very soon! Love you all xXx

Central Park was also made after a black community was erased from history. Development displacement? Alleyway dwelling authority? Even those rabid for history can find out new things everyday. We wanted a no -nonsense Dem who pushes on and does not puss out. I am a bit surprised to see we have it. There are so many pressing issues that I hope Biden works a bit more on Haiti though.

The Emmy’s were a little different this year with more of a Golden Globe look. Cedric the Entertainer hosted with Reggie Watts as DJ. Lots of minority noms but barely a win. It was a white people night. Ted Lasso had a great night. Mare of Eastown took home a few with Evan Peters, Julianne Nicholson and Kate Winslet. Now, Kate is great but how did Anya Taylor- Joy not walk away with that? Queens Gambit did win a couple and gave the longest speech with the seemingly arrogant director Scott Frank who opened up 2 page acceptance. Categories were tough but I was routing for Renee Elise Goldberry and Bowen Yang but perhaps next year. The people in England who had their own party for all the statues that the Crown won seemed to be having more fun! Hacks won for writing and directing and Jean Smart!! It was nice to see the Norm Macdonald love which was barely mentioned by Lorne but celebrated by John Oliver. Colbert ‘s election night special won as did JB Smoove. Hamilton won and Debbie Allen got the big one. I do not understand why real singers and or musicians have to be there for the in Memoriam. It takes me out of it a bit and concentrates the focus on them. Do they think that people will pay attention more? Do they want to keep the home audience or live audience from the bathroom? My best dressed were Anya Taylor-Joy, Michaela Cole who won for I may destroy you, Jean Smart, Josh O’Connor, Kathryn Hahn, Billy Porter, MJ Rodriguez, Keenan Thonpson, Leslie Odom Jr., Catherine O’Hara, Trevor Noah, Eugene Levy, Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys, Bowen Yang, Anthony Anderson, Leslie Grossman, Amber Ruffin, Allyson Felix, Renee Elise Goldberry, Samira Wiley and Rege- Jean Page. My worst were Sarah Paulson, Gillian Anderson, Beanie Feldstein, Elizabeth Olsen and Aidy Bryant. To me the best part of the show was the enthusiasm of Conan and the way he injected himself into much of the evening .He was the show. Go Conan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thousands and thousands of people are in need. Haitian refugees and other immigrants have seen nothing like this what with assassination, a hurricane and earthquake. The Southern border is a mess.** Why does Fox news keep telling refugees the border is open as they sit back and laugh at Biden’s predicament. Spreading false info to intentionally hurt poor, distressed people has no end for them.

Do companies know how fucked up their employment websites are? It is true that some people do not want to work. It is true that people schedule interviews and don’t show up. It is also true that companies have made it so hard to apply that many can’t. I suppose it is easier for them but the poor who may really want to work have a hard time. Paper applications are almost completely gone. The old fashioned way of walking into low paying job sites and finding a connection with a manager rarely exist. Some places only accept texts or have long ridiculous psych tests that a working Mother may not have time for. A Father working many hours already, may not be able to go to the library to get online if they cannot afford a computer. Many websites tell you that there no positions available in your area while there is a huge sign in front of the establishment. Can’t find people to work.. Gee I wonder why?? And treat people with respect once you find them, how about that?

Free coffee day came and went but only a few places really gave you free coffee without rules to govern the promo. Some places wanted to sell you something else and some made you belong to their club. Starbucks held that customers had to come inside for the free cup of Joe, handicapped or not.

Sad to lose Mick Brigden, protégé of Bill Graham who managed The Stones and worked with Frampton, Dylan and Santana.** And the comics were very vocal about the loss of Norm Macdonald. He was one of a kind and he will be missed!
