Kansas City Barbecue! We’re visiting KC for our kids spring break this week and I wanted some BBQ. Tonight’s meal was @q39kc. I had the pick three platter with brisket, pulled pork and chipotle sausage with some pork belly added on. The sides were Mac n cheese and baked beans. The brisket and pork was super tender and tasty. The sausage wasn’t bad, but I wanted more of a punch of flavor. The pork belly was very tender, but a little burnt around the edges. The Mac n cheese was pretty good. The beans were a little too sweet for my taste, but fine. The sauces were really good. I had the Brew 39 amber ale. Not bad. My wife had the salmon with slaw and vegetables. She really enjoyed it. My kid didn’t eat anything but fries. Pretty good meal! Is it lunchtime yet? 😁 first meal of this crazy day. This soup from @jlgoesvegan has gone the rounds like a game of telephone today. @anunrefinedvegan made hers with @fieldroast #chipotlesausage I made mine with black lentils and wild rice instead of the beans and barley that the recipe calls for. I added avo, tomato, squeeze of lime, #carrotbutter and some cilantro. If you want to continue the game, go to JL's profile, click her link and search for her bean and barley soup.
