Every plate was accurately placed, reflecting the anticipation and care that Y/n had poured into the evening. She stood by the door, her heart a mix of excitement and worry, waiting for her handsome boyfriend to return home. The table was set at exactly 7 pm, each dish carefully chosen to be his favorite, creating an inviting smell that mingled with the delicate scent of flowers in the centerpiece. Y/n knew Rin's demanding schedule well, his travels for tournaments and intense matches often keeping him busy. His practice was supposed to end at 10 pm, and with their home just 30 minutes away, he should have been back by 10:30. Next, she tackled the carpets, the hum of the vacuum cleaner filling the air as she meticulously covered every inch, ensuring no speck of dirt was left behind. With a bucket of soapy water and a mop in hand, she scrubbed the tiles, watching as the grime dissolved and the floors gleamed once more. Finally, she turned to the laundry, carefully folding each piece of clothing, smoothing out wrinkles, and stacking them into tidy piles. Just as she was about to finish, Rin comes home, his face a mix of exhaustion and frustration. Y/n didn't pay much attention to his facial features but asked, "How was your day at practice?" Rin, irritated from Bachira and Isagi's constant annoyance, responded roughly with a stern voice, "Don't worry about it." He scoffed, his irritation evident in his tone. "Well, I should worry if my boyfriend is sounding upset. Here, help me put the laundry away," she states, trying to keep the atmosphere light. Rin groans, "Why me? Do it yourself. I want to rest." He slumps onto the couch, his body language screaming fatigue. She hands him a stack of freshly folded clothes, her eyes softening as she watches him. "Come on, it won't take long," she says gently, hoping to ease his frustration.
"No, for once can you fucking leave me alone? You're all over me, it gets annoying! You're too clingy! Why can't you just do shit for yourself without asking me for help?" he screams irrationally. "Me? Annoying? Clingy?" she chuckles, her voice tinged with disbelief. "Seriously, me out of all the girls you fucking dated! Itoshi Rin, do you not notice the hard work I put in the entire day? I work my ass off just for you to sit here and discredit me? Like seriously I'm the one you should be thankful to, that you still have a clean home to come to, food on the table for you! So don't sit here and say I ask for help too much, which I don't. I understand you're upset because of practice, but lashing out at me is not okay!" she heaves, her chest rising and falling heavily with emotion. "Whatever, all you ever do in this house is nag. Without me, you wouldn't be able to pay for a roof over your head!" Rin snaps, his face flushed with anger. Y/n's eyes widen in shock, but she quickly regains her composure. "Nag? Is that what you think I do? Every day, I wake up early to clean this house, cook your meals, and make sure everything is perfect for you. And you think all I do is nag?" Her voice trembles with a mix of hurt and frustration. Rin turns away, his jaw clenched. "You wouldn't survive a day without me. I'm the one who pays the bills and keeps us afloat." Y/n takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "You think money is everything? What about the emotional support, the care, the effort I put into making this house a home? Until she heard the door swing open from their shared bedroom. Footsteps coming from upstairs traveled all the way down to where she was seated, and then she felt a dip next to her. Y/n couldn't look. She couldn't look at his face. She knew that if she looked into his beautiful grey teal eyes, she would forgive him easily. "Baby," he started, grabbing onto her hand that was still shaking. "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry. You're not clingy, you're not a nuisance, you're not a hassle, you don't nag at me, you don't complain, you don't whine, and you’re definitely not a bitch." He began. "Then why did you say those words?" she spoke up with a whisper. Rin's face softened as he felt agony and guilt creeping into his body, sending chills down his spine. "I didn't mean it. I was upset from practice, and I'm sorry for missing out yesterday night. I know that we planned it out, but by the time I was going to text you, my phone died. I couldn't text you, and I honestly should've let you know about the plans that were made." Rin grabbed her chin to lift her face up, looking into her teary eyes that were now swollen red. The room was silent except for the sound of their breathing. Y/n's heart ached with the weight of his words, but she could see the sincerity in his eyes. The tension between them hung heavy in the air, a stark contrast to the warmth they usually shared. Rin's hand trembled slightly as he held her chin, desperate for her forgiveness. Y/n's mind raced with conflicting emotions. She wanted to believe him, to let go of the pain and embrace the love she knew was still there. But the hurt was still fresh, the wounds still raw. She searched his eyes for any sign of deceit but found only remorse and a deep longing to make things right. Rin's voice broke the silence once more, softer this time, almost a plea. "Please, Y/n. I know I messed up. I know I hurt you. But I promise, I'll make it up to you. Just... give me a chance."
"You hurt me." She cried again, her face in her palms as she leaned forward, pressing her forehead onto his shoulder. Y/n continued her cries while Rin patted her back and whispered soft apologies. After her crying calmed down, Rin kissed her forehead, and she smiled, happy to know he owned up to his actions. "So, do I get another chance?" he pleaded. "Welllllllll..." she began, teasingly drawing out the word. "Babyyyyyy," he practically begged, his voice filled with desperation. "I'm just kidding," she smiled. "You can have it, but the trust... you're going to have to make it all up." She spoke before booping his nose. Rin smiled, a mixture of relief and determination in his eyes. "Now you're going to refold all this laundry," Y/n pointed out. "What? Why?" he whined, looking at the pile of clothes with a dramatic sigh. "Do I have to repeat myself?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "No, ma'am," he saluted, a playful grin on his face as he began to fold the laundry. Y/n watched him, feeling a sense of warmth and contentment. She leaned down and gave him a small peck on the cheek. "Thank you," she smiled before going back to folding clothes alongside Rin, her beloved boyfriend.
As they folded the laundry together, the atmosphere in the room shifted from one of tension to one of quiet companionship. The Beginning After the End...
A new journey... Perhaps?
The New Year is always a bit magical, isn’t it? As the clock ticks down on December 31st, there’s this weird feeling in the air—kind of like everything is about to reset. Like hitting the restart button on your phone. You get to say goodbye to whatever happened in the past year and look forward to all the new opportunities, dreams, and even challenges the next one will bring. And honestly? It feels pretty exciting.
I’ve had a pretty memorable Year to say the least, from stressing about school to just chilling at home with family. No matter how you how you look at it, New Year’s is near approaching and well now, its time to appreciate what I've learned, and stepping into the next chapter. Here’s how my experience in 2024 so far has made me even more excited for New Year’s, and what's in store for me in 2025.
The Big Moment
Let’s be real: there’s just something about the moment the clock strikes 12. Suddenly, everyone’s shouting “Happy New Year!” and using their vehicles to honk as loud as possible. It’s like you’re part of this giant global celebration that connects everyone, no matter where they are.
For me, New Year’s Eve has always been a mix of excitement and reflection. One year, I spent it with my family, playing games and trying my best in school. The next, I was at a friend’s house, eating snacks, watching fireworks, and trying not to let the stress of school weigh me down. Both ways were fun in their own way. But what makes the night so special isn’t just the celebration, it’s what comes after: the feeling that a new year is here and with it, endless possibilities.
Looking back...
Before jumping into all the things I want to do in the next year, I usually take a moment to reflect on the year that’s just ended but, i guess i am doing this advanced. Since, 2024 is ending soon and well, yes it has had a mix of ups and downs. There were definitely times when I felt like I wasn’t good enough, or like I wasn’t accomplishing what I wanted. But looking back, I realized how much I actually grew. I handled tough situations better than I thought I would, and I definitely learned a lot from my mistakes.
It wasn’t all bad either. I made new friends, finally started taking my health more seriously, and even got better at managing my time (still a work in progress, though). So when I look back, I think about the things that shaped me—not just the perfect moments, but the messy ones too. All of them contributed to who I am right now.
Resolutions i guess?
Okay, so I’m not always the biggest fan of “New Year’s resolutions.” They often feel like these giant promises we make that we know we’re probably not going to keep. But I do think New Year’s is a good time to set intentions and figure out what I want to focus on in the coming months. Next year (2025), I'm planning to set some big goals like working out more, getting better grades, and being kinder to myself. And, yeah, some of them probably won't exactly stick. But i will try and make some progress (hopefully), and that counts for something.
For 2025, I’m keeping it simple. I want to be more mindful of my mental health and spend more time doing things I enjoy, not just things I feel like I have to do. I also want to learn something new—maybe pick up a new hobby, like drawing or picking up a new instrument. I know, I won’t stick to everything 100%, but I think that’s okay. What matters is that I’m trying, right?
A Fresh Start
The best part about the New Year? It’s like a giant reset button. No matter how the past year went, you get to choose how you move forward. Sure, it can feel a little overwhelming to think about all the things you want to accomplish, but that’s the beauty of it: you get to decide what kind of year it’s going to be. It’s like being handed a blank notebook and a shiny new pen. The pages are all empty, and you get to write whatever you want on them.
For me, New Year’s isn’t just about making big resolutions. It’s more about giving myself permission to try new things, grow as a person, be content with the past, and find peace in not having everything figured out. It’s about embracing the idea that every day is a chance to start over and that's what make's it so refreshing.
My Final Thoughts
As the end of 2024 is right around the corner, I know there are going to be challenges. Life’s not perfect, and not every day will feel like a “new beginning.” But I think the New Year is a good reminder that we have the power to change things up if we want to. We don’t have to wait for the perfect moment or for everything to fall into place. We can start right now, and with the new year, we’re all kind of starting together.
So, here’s to new experiences, growth, and hopefully, a little more happiness in 2025. Whether you’re out celebrating with friends, staying home with family, or just taking a quiet moment to reflect, I really hope this coming New Year's will bring you everything you’re hoping for—and more, and once again

When It comes an Ideal city that is pedestrian oriented as well as highly sustainable, there are few places that match up closely to Copenhagen, Denmark. 
      Located on the eastern Island of Zealand of Denmark, Copenhagen Faces the Øresund to the east, the strait of water that separates Denmark from Sweden. In addition there are also canals that add to the waterfront living in Copenhagen.The water provides the city with abundant of economic and social advantages overall raising the quality of life for the people of Copenhagen.

      Being one of the most walk able cities in world, Copenhagen prides itself in providing its people in a comfortable lifestyle. Many downtown streets are pedestrian-only removing cars from the inner city and limiting them to only car specific streets. Being a compact city many landmarks and sites are located to be easily accessed by on foot allowing anybody to move easily and quickly throughout the city. Another popular way of getting around the city is biking, over 50% of citizens commuting to work, school, or university use a bicycle as transport.         Copenhagen’s public transportation consist as a Metro, S-trains, and buses. The cities public transportation system is has been made so that it is efficient and inexpensive to it’s citizens. All public transportation can be accessed with the same ticket, there are also Copenhagen cards that allow free transport to the public. Public transportation is always getting updated and enhanced making it more comfortable for the cities citizens.

Climate
In Copenhagen, the summers are comfortable and partly cloudy and the winters are long, very cold, windy, and mostly cloudy. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 29°F to 71°F and is rarely below 17°F or above 79°F. The warm season lasts for 3.1 months, from June 4 to September 9, with an average daily high temperature above 64°F. The hottest day of the year is July 30, with an average high of 71°F and low of 56°F. The cold season lasts for 3.9 months, from November 21 to March 19, with an average daily high temperature below 43°F. The coldest day of the year is February 8, with an average low of 29°F and high of 37°F.
Sustainability
Copenhagen is one of the most sustainable cities in the World, by 2025 it is on track to being the first carbon neutral Capital. The planning process plays a significant role by making environment friendly forms of transport easily accessible, focusing on sustainable urban redevelopment, and efficient energy use tactics.

Automobiles are not the main source of transportation, and instead infrastructure is focused on Biking. This has helped in eliminating over a third of all transportation fossil fuel use. The easy accessibility is a main reason for the people of Copenhagen choose to use bicycles rather than cars. They are also investing in electrical and or hydrogen powered vehicles rather than fossil fuel burning cars.

They also have climate change in mind when it comes to planning for the city. They make projects with flooding from water and sewage systems in mind. They plan to build high above sea level by investing in dikes, increasing sewer capacity and more emergency preparedness. They pass on knowledge of flooding and risks that come with it to the people, keeping the public informed of the environment condition and give people options in preparing for disasters.
For heating and cooling they produce it centrally and it is later dispersed to surrounding neighborhoods. They use combined heat and power, which captures, and reuses heat energy lost when electricity is generated. For cooling, they distribute chilled water mixed with cold sea water. The plant that powers this is fueled with biomass reducing its carbon footprint. It reduces the district heating costs around 45%, it is affordable energy production without harming the environment.

Copenhagen also puts an emphasis on energy efficient buildings, with new buildings and older buildings alike by “retrofitting” meaning modernizing older buildings with energy efficiency in mind. They also preserve green space, with buildings being intertwined with recreation spaces and green parks. This is to combat the urban heat island effect where the suns heat is stored in the buildings and gets bad if no vegetation or water to help the process.
They make it a municipal priority to be sustainable. It is a part of their plans, and they even do a public service. The Energy advisory service informs many citizens on energy efficiency and how to use natural gas and limit energy usage. They teach people as young as elementary students, exposing the young to energy conscious lifestyles.
Urban Space
By 2025, Copenhagen is expecting over 100,000 new inhabitants. More planning and development must be done in the city streets and open spaces.
Urban spaces:
-        will need to be arranged to accommodate more people
-        must provide a framework for a wide range of activities: transport, work, relaxation, sport, meetings, celebrations, markets etc.
-        must be creative and available

You lost your sight - along with everyone else on Earth - in The Great Blinding. Two years later, without warning, your sight returns. As you look around, you realize that every available wall, floor and surface has been painted with the same message - Don't Tell Them You Can See. ~Writing Prompt
One fine morning, fine as i am about to do my usual stuffs without having an eyesight, the whole world is now running without any vision, but after years of struggling they have accustomed to function their other body parts quickly. Just back then realisation stuck into the head, what was lost once is back again,  I can see! First i thought i am dreaming, and once the alexa, which is one of the useful tool of our kind, rings right in 7 am . I look at the clock it was dead i asked alexa what time is it? "'its 7 past 15'". I am very nervous now and i jumped out of the bed to ask everyone in the house, that I can see, Can they?
Then, suddenly a chill runs through my entire body,  The entire bedroom looks usual except the walls. I have seen it! Oh god! What is this? My wall once it was painted in yellow and pink is now covered in pitch black letters. ' don't let them know you can see'.
And, now one thing stuck on my head, again, How i have lost my eyesight at the first place? I remembered very quickly that one night a beautiful one probably i was reading a book about hansel and gretal, i smelled rotten eggs mixed with rose water and wood, it was very strange but petrified kind of smell. Mixed  of toxins, but yet so good!  and suddenly everything turned black. No other colours i could see. No other person i could see. Just black.
First i thought it was a black out. But when i realised it was not I freaked out. I cried for mum and dad, they were crying too. The entire surrounding was crying just like me , for help. But, no help came and we kinda grow our habits according to it.
Now, i am freaking out again. Because, the entire world is now based on intuitions. Alexa stuck again "  its 7 past 25, time for breakfast" .   I am trying to neglected the message completely. I want to forget it as soon as i can. Because, i can see now. I can read books, i can watch tv, i can see soccer. I can do so many things which i was used to and loved to. I am so happy rn, i can forget the whole world. And, it's just a message. I ran down to my kitchen where my ma and baba is having breakfast now. They are working people. Very hard and generous one.  And, suddenly again fear cut down my spine. I don't know they can see or not. Should i ask them? What if they don't? Will they be happy? Will it give them hopes? That once something is lost can retrieve back to them as well? They look unusal. Honestly, i forget how they look in past years, I could not measure that that is it normal or just they are pretending too? Because, the persons i am living with, i don't know how they look until now.  I sat down the dining table. I looked around.  I want to give them a hint, that i can see. " Alexa play the tv" Dad, looked to me in fear.
" There are tvs back in 2009, its 2025. Maddy".
How can i forget  the entire system in now without sights. It means, no soccer, no books in hand, no video games! I got my answer.
My mom and dad turned into me. And, the look made me realised they have their eyesight back as well, just like me or maybe before. But they got the same message just like me, maybe. but i don't know how to confirm. So, i asked them lowering my voice, ' ma, baba, Can you see? Cause I can!'
The next moment i was not expecting. Alexa turned on again " Noone can see, seeing something is a myth. Seeing in 2025 is like playing football, or watching tv, you must be dreaming or lying! "

Literally the smartest people in the world think an unprecedented wave of job destruction is coming with the development of artificial intelligence, robotics, software and automation. My friends in Silicon Valley have read the Second Machine Age and Rise of the Robots and they see a wave coming. The White House published a report last month that reinforced this view. Some of the headline stats: 83% of the jobs where people make less than $20 per hour will be subject to automation or replacement. Between 9% and 47% of jobs are in danger of being made irrelevant due to technological change, with the worst threats falling among the less educated. Between 2.2 and 3.1 million car, bus and truck driving jobs in the U.S. will be eliminated by the advent of self-driving vehicles. Source: Executive Office of the President of the United States; Artificial Intelligence, Automation, and the Economy; December 2016 Read that last sentence again: we’re confident that between 2 and 3 million Americans who drive vehicles for a living will lose their jobs in the next fifteen years. Self-driving cars are the most obvious job-destroying technology, but there are similar innovations ahead that will dislocate cashiers, fast food workers, customer service representatives, groundskeepers and many many others in a few short years. How many of these people will be readily employable elsewhere? Okay, you’re thinking. But isn’t this all still in the somewhat distant future, since unemployment is only 4.6% according to the headlines? Actually, automation has already eliminated about 4 million manufacturing jobs in the U.S. since 2000. And instead of finding new jobs, a lot of those people left the workforce and didn’t come back. The U.S. labor force plummeted by about 10 million during the same period, down to levels not seen in decades. The labor participation rate is now at only 62.7%, a rate right below El Salvador and right above the Ukraine: Each 1 percent decline in the labor participation rate equates to approximately 2.5 million Americans dropping out. The number of working-age Americans who aren’t in the workforce has surged to a record 95 million, up almost 500,000 in the last month alone, with many of these being factory workers. Yes, there are 95 million working-age Americans no longer in the workforce. The Great Displacement is already here and is set to accelerate. High rates of unemployment are linked to higher rates of substance abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, depression and just about every other social ill. Despair, basically. Note the recent spike in drug and opioid overdoses in the U.S. If you care about communities and our way of life, you care about people having jobs. This is the most pressing economic and social issue of our time; our economy is evolving in ways that will make it more and more difficult for people with lower levels of education to find jobs and support themselves. It’s a boiling pot getting hotter one degree at a time. And we’re the frog. I run an organization, Venture for America, with the mission of helping to create 100,000 U.S. jobs by 2025. We do this by helping growth companies access talent and training the next generation of entrepreneurs. We are taking some of the strongest young people in the country and saying, “Hey, use your talents to do some good and build businesses in Detroit, Birmingham, Baltimore, New Orleans, Cleveland, Philadelphia or some other U.S. city that could use a boost.” We’ve had some incredible success stories with people building multi-million dollar businesses that have hired dozens or even hundreds of people, including some low-skilled manufacturing workers. We’ve trained over 500 aspiring entrepreneurs to work in eighteen cities around the U.S., and are now recruiting executives from Silicon Valley companies who want to help. We saw the decline in American entrepreneurship in markets around the country and resolved to do something about it. I’m proud of everything that we do. But I feel increasingly like we’re working on islands of relative prosperity that are shrinking beneath our feet. Every business will hire the very best people it can find – particularly startups. When our entrepreneurs start companies and expand, they generally aren’t hiring the down-on-his-or-her-luck-marginal-worker-in-need-of-a-break. They’re hiring the strongest contributors with the right mix of qualities to help an early-stage company succeed. The majority of the startup jobs that we’re helping to create essentially require a college degree. That excludes 68 percent of the population right there. And some of these companies are lifting further inefficiencies out of the system - reducing jobs in other places even while hiring its own new workers. I’m reminded of a scene in The Hard Things about Hard Things, when Ben Horowitz meets with his two lieutenants. He says to one of them, “You’re going to do everything in your power to make this deal work.” Then he turns to the other and says, “Even if he does everything right, it’s probably not going to work. Your job is to fix it.” That’s where we’re at. Unprecedented things are happening in real-time and starting to wreak havoc on lives and communities around the country, particularly on those least able to adapt and adjust. We should do all we can to reduce the worst effects of the Great Displacement – it should be the driving priority of government and non-profits for the foreseeable future. We should invest in education, job training, apprenticeships, relocation, entrepreneurship, matching people to opportunities, tax incentives to hire – anything to help make hiring and retaining workers appealing. And then we should assume that, for millions of people, it’s not going to work. Uber is going to get rid of its drivers as soon as it can. Its job isn’t to hire lots of people – its job is to move customers around as efficiently as possible. One programmer, Labib Rahman, said to me recently that “any responsible technologist has to be for providing people a universal basic income to make ends meet.” He knows what’s coming. Before long, we’re going to have to rethink the relationship between work and being able to feed yourself. And then figure out how to convey the psychic and social benefits of work in other ways. It’s one reason why what Sam Altman is doing in Oakland is so fascinating and important. He’s basically piloting what the government should be doing so there will be relevant data when the need is too pressing to ignore. Many of my friends think that people will just chill out if you give them free money. I tend to think they’ll make the most of it and try to better themselves and their future. Sam is going to find out for all of us. Will our jobless future look more like Star Trek or Mad Max? If you squint a little, you can see which way we’re headed. As William Gibson says, “The future is already here – it’s just unevenly distributed.” The future of automation and job loss is right now. This article originally appeared in Quartz.
