Soragumi Top Announcement

As I am a RATHER big fan of Serika Toa, here are a few fun stats to celebrate the extremely long-awaited announcement of her and (surprise!) Haruno Sakura's impending Soragumi takeover!

When Kiki becomes top star on June 12, she will have been a nibante (as wholly official a nibante as nibantes get) for 103 months. For reference, Tamaki Ryou became top star of Tsukigumi 100 months after her debut.

Kiki will be ken-17 at the start of her top stardom. Sou Kazuho was also ken-17, and Hokushou Kairi and Oozora Yuuhi were both ken-18.

Haruno Sakura has one total lead of any kind, shinko or small theater (it was the Never Say Goodbye shinko). The last musumeyaku to become top with only one total lead was Dan Rei (top debut in 1999 with one last minute shinko lead in 1998). Before that, we have to go back to the early 80s. Sugata Haruka (became top in '82), Wakaba Hiromi ('81), Kuroki Hitomi ('81), and Azuma Chiaki ('80) all did it with one lead. Kanna Miho ('85) and Haruka Kurara ('77) did it with none.

Her first named role in the Grand Theater was in High & Low; James Bond will be her second. It's difficult to confirm full cast lists from the 80s, but since the 90s at least, Dan Rei ties her for fewest. We love an underdog!

I have absolutely no way of proving that she is the first musumeyaku to be announced as the next top without first having a proper, performance-themed, on the Grand Theater wall head shot, but if someone is bored enough to dive deep into the internet archives, please let me know!

wataru and tenma: wataru would think tenmas great but kinda boring. tenma would act like tomoya, who the fuck is this guy get him away from me, wait hes kind good at acting. he would begrudgingly accept watarus skill but says hell never lose to him watarus just like okaysies

chiaki and sakyo. i dont think theyd have much reason to meet and are ultimately neutral on each other. chiaki admires sakyo as a cool older guy but sakyo dgaf abt him

adonis and chikage are also neutral on each other. i dont see them needing to interact much they have mutual respect but dont have much beyond that. chikages not a guy to get close to others anyway.

leo and itaru. lol. itaru wouldnt like leo but would also find him really funny. kinda like citron without the verbal typos. he would grow on him eventually. itaru does love a goof

subaru and azuma. LMAO. they could not be more different. hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby. milf vs penny sniffer. azumas maternal instincts would kick in and give that kid some weed to calm him down. he would give subaru a refreshing nap and some essential oils. hokuto wants azumas secrets but azuma just giggles

misumi and yuki join wxs with tsukasa and rui. yuki can only talk with nene everyone else pisses him off. rui scares him tbh. tsukasa and misumi are in total sync. misumi and emu are doing a whole park triangle hunt dragging everybody else with them. yuki considers killing them all and blaming it on rui

masumi fucking despises ramuda. he thinks hes annoying as fuck, and is he wrong? he gets weirdly defensive of the whole troupe whenever ramuda and samatoki (yeah im inserting him too) talk to the spring troupe. itaru doesnt have a stromg opinion on samatoki hes kind of scared of him.

tsumugi and azul arent friends but tsumugi gives him some psychology and acting tips and azul gives him some manipulation scheming tips. mutual respect. tasuku will never know a day of peace again

"Gimme Back My Phone!" Tags: Competition, PvP Story designed and illustrated by Azuma Aya, artist of Wild and Horned Hermit and several unofficial series in SCoOW (adapted for the book by the main author Nakanishi Eisuke). The first introduction of PvP to the game, whatever that means in this case, and the first scenario with the Lunatic difficulty (meaning not necessarily bigger numbers but just a lot of custom mechanics to work with).

Baby Panic! Tags: Baby Transformation, Comedy Story designed and illustrated by official fairy manga artist Hirasaka Makoto (and Ototsuki Chiaki), adapted for the book by Nakanishi Eisuke.

Shanghai Phantasm Night Trip (may not be the final translation) Tags: Devil Capital Shanghai, Scarlet Devil Mansion Written by none other than the author of Otherside Picnic and notorious Hifuu fan, Miyazawa Iori! He's actually a writer for the RPG studio that made Narratograph (albeit he was not involved with the game before this).

Also taught me that Shanghai used to be nicknamed the "Devil Capital" in the early 1900s due to its nightlife and number of Westerners there. Great coincidence given the SDM.

I'll check back in with more characters and the cover of the fifth scenario when they're revealed or at the latest when the book comes out (but again, the translation will take a long time after that.)

Gensou Narratograph - Expansion Book

A bit over a year after its original release, the tabletop RPG Gensou Narratograph is receiving an official expansion book! (Seemingly just titled "Expansion Book") (store page)

The book is slated to include:

30 playable characters (on top of the 30 in the base book) Currently Kokoro, Sumireko, Jo'on and Kutaka have been shown.

Rules to create your own characters (this is big, assuming the rules work)

"Incident Revival", some system to recreate the incidents from the canon games

Prewritten scenarios

Simplified alternative rules

Six more spots added to the map

As the way the map is numbered doesn't allow easily adding "more" spots, they're instead being added as some sort of parallel locations for existing spots: Divine Spirit Mausoleum for Mayohiga, Rainbow Dragon Cave for Nine Heavens Waterfall, Muenzuka for Kirisame Magic Shop, Animal Realm for Palace of the Earth Spirits, Shining Needle Castle for Bamboo Forest of the Lost. The Dream World exists as some special unnumbered spot.

The release date is January 20, 2025. Obviously don't expect a fast translation, since it is a whole book, but I will be working to get it done as quick as possible, and getting help for the layout again.

I'm glad this game is receiving some continued support and not just being left as a one-off.

Hey, same person who told you which A3! VAs can rap, again.

1st, the JP TWST server will have Deuce’s & Kalim’s B-day cards where Deuce’s will have Malleus interviewing the B-day boy which was a coincidence when Ace interviewed Malleus on Malleus’s 3rd B-day card (Malleus’s 2nd B-day card had Riddle interviewing Malleus, which made some B-Project THRIVE fans happy). But the biggest news is that there will be a new Al’ab Nariya Fireworks event where Vil is the SSR card & he’s model worthy gorgeous in Scalding Sands clothing (which can compete w/ the A3! charas wearing Zafra outfits or Azuma in general).

2nd, BLACKSTAR: Theater Starless will have a Bridal event of 2 mixed team performances w/ utaites kradness & Shakemii singing the feat. songs. Also, the participating members outfits are gorgeous.

He was lanky 19-year-old university student with spiky black hair and grey eyes, and was dressed in a black suit, white shirt and a blue tie, with a blue armband pinned to his black jacket that had a white stylized gate symbol on it. He placed his hands into his pockets, observing the group of Tamers and Digimon below him.

''Do you think that Meiko had managed to track the V-Pet Crusher down?'' Chiaki's partner, a small yellow glyptodont-like Digimon, Armadillomon, asked.

''I believe that we'll hear from her soon,'' Chiaki replied. Right on cue, his D-App, the device having a white body and a yellow ring, had started beeping. He held it up, with a screen appearing above the D-App. ''That was fast. So, have you managed to break our target's defenses down?''

The person he was talking to was the 17-year-old Azuma Meiko, a girl with long black hair and grey eyes, wearing a pastel pink sweater, washed-out and torn skinny jeans, and glasses. She too was wearing the same blue armband with the stylized gate symbol pinned to her sleeve. ''Nice, that was some quick thinking,'' Chiaki noted. Meiko cracked a smile.

''Thanks, but we're not done yet with this case,'' she replied. ''Anyways, do you think that this guy will be a city-level threat or a multiverse-level threat?''

''If he is as smart as he appears to be, he'll probably be gunning for a Millenniumon rather than a Machinedramon,'' Chiaki replied. He sounded quite nonchalant, so Meiko had no idea whether he was just stating his opinion or being sarcastic.

I was wondering if you knew what happened to the riren artist END/Azuma Chiaki/id=29134 on baka updates manga/twitter user @0i0i0i0i0i0i0? They seem to have deleted their pixiv AND twitter. Their artwork was amazing and their last tweet was a black box with a lot of japanese text and it was pretty eerie since i didnt understand it ^^;

I think the last time I checked on it was like 2018-ish and it was a pretty huge fiasco (well...as huge as cross fandom disasters go haha), but I’ll try to explain it to the best of my ability and give a (pretty bad) tl;dr:

In the beginning, there was this recurring issue--someone kept hurling insults and ridiculing rivaere and victuuri shippers. Their name was Saimau--a rabid eruri, past ereri, fujoshi. They misused pixiv’s tag editing feature to delete kind tags left by fans of rivaere, uke-levi, and levihan artwork. 

(Some things you should know! ereri != riren/rivaere in the Japanese fandom AT ALL, they’re treated as pretty much different, “competing” ships)

Anyways, Saimau targeted Chiaki (a rivaere and victuuri artist--so it doesn’t even make sense why she would hate her own ships lol) and Mitsuhashi (another rivaere artist) of this by manipulating screenshots (inspect element-ing sites) and harassed, slandered, and doxxed them through anonymous methods. They went on to encourage other users in Japanese 5chan to do the same. 

So that “eerie” last tweet was her getting an attorney and getting the cops involved. She never posted again and deleted everything years later I believe--which I don’t really know why she did.

Then, Saimau went on as an imposter-ereri-fan of a one hour ereri drawing account. She slightly edited artworks from other fandoms to fake-draw Eren and Levi and continue to trespass other tags. This was an attempt to disparage ereri shippers’ image again. 

They made more accounts to slander rivaere artists. Turns out, when you really hate rivaere, you feel compelled to accuse them of voter manipulation of official character popularity contests. She used other accounts to mock rivaere shippers calling them delusional, exposed the identity/pseudonym of a manga artist (a rivaere artist who quit after being sued for her dj Sex Pistols), doesn’t keep her hate tweets to herself and continues to go under a fake pro-rivaere account on twitter (@misat1192). It is rumored, that to this day, she is still trying to contact the official Japanese SNK twitter accounts under her own delusional accusations (jk, but fr).

Disclaimer: these actions do not reflect the integrity of all Japanese eruri fans! Fans usually keep to themselves (not like the western AOT fandom’s constant disrespect, but of course I guess there are more children here anyways) and I don’t think Saimau called any rivaere shipper a pedophile. Only a d-bag that tried to accuse others of her d-baggery.

Moral of the story: 

1. Japanese otakus are scary.

2. Trust scrolling video proof instead of screenshots.

3. Honestly, how hard is it to just let people ~vibe~. As long as they’re not doing any harm, you’re just exposing your own jealousy and insecurity.
