Just a little considerations for those still grieving Liam Payne
So, right now, you are probably still lost in some very real grief over someone you never met but has still been a major part of your life since you were thirteen. You feel like you've lost an extremely close friend. It's hard to imagine your life where he isn't somehow present.
I know all this because felt the exact same way seven years ago when Chester Bennington died by suicide. And I do have a little bit of wisdom to share with you all right now, wisdom that I really wish I didn't have.
First of all, it's okay to be sad. To cry. To feel like shit and wish this had happened to someone else, someone who deserved it. Give yourself the time and space to feel all that because it's the only way you can start to move on. Feeling sad is only a problem when, months later, you simply CAN'T move on. That's depression, and that's when you should seek professional mental health treatment.
Secondly, there aren't going to be ANY easy answers in this. Right now a lot of people are looking for fingers to point, people to blame, and even finding conspiracy theories that Liam was murdered. While it may be initially comforting to fall into the idea that Liam didn't do this to himself, he was murdered for some reason (usually because he was going to expose a pedophile ring of some sort), conspiracy theories are always wrong and will NEVER give you the satisfying answer you want.
It was Liam's decision to step out onto that balcony, and his alone. It is no one else's fault. Accepting that is incredibly hard to do, but it is ultimately what will grant you the most peace.
As for what lead up to that, well, there's a lot. Fucked up celebrity deaths are kind of my Roman Empire, so while I never knew Liam, I DO know a lot about what leads up to huge, terrible tragedies that play out in the tabloids in extremely ugly ways.
Becoming famous at a really young age is an incredibly mixed bag. While you do get to live out this shit 99% of people on earth can only dream of, it does mean you often find yourself at 30 with a career that's basically over. A lot of young celebs simply don't know what to do with themselves once the fame and adoration has dried up, and the answer is usually to do an absolute fuck ton of drugs.
Drug and alcohol abuse changes your personality. I know this from personal experience. Someone very close to me developed a serious problem with alcohol, and turned from a kind, funny, wonderful person to someone nasty, abusive, and resentful. Someone I didn't recognize at all. While I and my person were very lucky that they were able to quit drinking, not everyone is so lucky.
Liam deserved better. He was so young and he still had ample opportunity to turn his life around. But he made one terrible decision, and now he's dead, and there simply is no changing that.
So what do you do? Remember him, and love him. Be grateful for the joy that he brought into your life. Sing his songs, and stay close to the friends you made because of him. The fact that you are so fucking sad right now is a beautiful thing, because it only shows how deeply loved Liam Payne really was.

This is my protocol bingo! (Thank you as always osric.com).
Lena is just doing her evil job - No thoughts, no morals, no alligence. Girlboss.
Nobody ever finds out Jmart's real names - I just think that would be tragic, and fit in with what RQ have been saying about this not being too attached to Archives.
Redemption arc - There was a notable lack of these in Archives even though forgiveness and making a conscious effort to behave morally were important themes in the later seasons. I'm ready for Mr Bonzo to have Kylo Ren's exact redemption arc where he's redeemed mostly through kissing. I don't even care who he kisses.
Froyo trip - It's pretty clear that we're being told that this is Somewhere Else through things like the Archives staff having tea and the OIAR staff having coffee. The s1 Archives gang iconically got icecream, so I'm gunning for a froyo trip, and a Gwen monologue about preservatives.
Colin dies first - He's just so killable. Plus, Celia can't die until they do her reveal and they'll probably want to build up to it, Sam can't die because he's the driving force behind investigation into Magnus, Alice can't die because she kinda makes the whole show, Gwen can't die because she's mid-arc and it is of the type that if left unfinished it would be anticlimactic not tragic, and Lena can't die because the impact would be pretty low.
Nostalgic PC games - I LOVE that RQ appears to be into old tech. I want to see Chester and Norris play Catz 5. Lowfi retro charm.
Dyhard - I go back and forth on this one, it feels too obvious what with the hot drinks imagery workplace annoyances to lovers stuff, but at the same time it does Just Make Sense.
Somebody becomes disabled - In Archives people were injured a lot, but none of that amounted to a long-term physical disability, except for Melanie's blindness. Feels like something to do in Protocol.
Police brutality - Feels like a theme that Jonny still has more to say about, and an incredibly easy one to weave into this kind of story.
Alice is hiding something - I actually think she isn't but y'all are saying it.
Alice naming stuff has consequences - She does it so much and Colin warned her off it, clearly seeming concerned but not explaining why, I think it will have unforeseen and damaging consequences.
Someone has a pet - In Archives, especially in the earlier seasons, everyone was notably unattached. Martin has a mum to take care of, but nobody has partners or children. I think this was partly because it made them easier to manipulate, and partly because it meant that tragedy could be dialled up: Sasha dying was sad, but not as gutwrenching as Daisy dying because Daisy's relationships were more fleshed out because it was later in the series. We're already bucking that trend with Celia's son, so I think we might see a pet too. Also, the pet will probably die.
Alice dies in the last season - Alice is very killable but she's also the heart and soul of the character relationships, so I think they will kill her but they'll wait to do it, and then do it mid-final season as an OOH THEY WENT THERE turning point, like how Tim dying brought in a new, darker era for Archives.
Conclusion that love isn't what makes you human - At London Comicon in October, Alex or Jonny (I forget) said that if Archives was about what makes you a monster, Protocol is about what makes you human. I think it's kinda trite if love is the answer, and I think the conclusion re love will be that monsters can love, because that's cooler. Hell yeah romantic monsterfucking.
Celia evil - I LOVE that we're seeing another Welsh person, but she doesn't sit well with me.
Agnes returns but we don't hear her speak - The tree on the other side of the rift is still alive, and if that universe was this one then that means that Agnes may still be alive. Jonny and Alex have said that they regret not doing more with Agnes, and I don't think they'll miss out on the opportunity to use her again. However, I think the fact that she doesn't speak is central to her tragic character and role as Jon's character foil, and I don't think they'll change that. I actually posted a tiktok about this.
Scene on London public transport - We're already seeing our gang at the pub and on dates, I think we're going to get some tube content.
Jmart fate worse than death - They're going to have us WISHING that they died in mag200.
Fears never treated as separate - I just think we're over that.
Breakup - They're getting the character relationships in early, so I'm predicting an onscreen breakup, because that's one of the few ways that we didn't see relationships between characters going bad in Archives.
Gerry's life gets ruined again - I'm sorry guys but I don't think they're going to let him have peace. He's going to get dragged into the OIAR situation and he's going to suffer.
Alice's brother lives - People are already noting similarities between Alice and Tim, I think that it'll be essentially the same character beat again if her brother dies. Adapt, improvise, overcome, RQ.
Another Michael - Just another character called Michael, unrelated to the four existing Michaels. I wasn't going to put this because Jonny is very aware of the four Michael problem, but this man plagurised his own full legal Christian name, so anything is possible.
Jack is Agnes' Jack - I think it's cool if we all think about how there was actually a massive age gap between Agnes and Jack because she didn't seem to age past her twenties, so he was absolutely a child when she was an adult. Not that I want to have Discourse or anything, that relationship was hecked up and complex in plenty of other ways, just because it's interesting.
Onscreen kiss - They said they wouldn't do it during Archives and then they did and it wasn't that gross, so I'm ready to see it happening again. They might have a relationship between allosexuals this time, I don't think they're going as far as onscreen fucking, but I'm game to be surprised. Insert joke about reusing the whimpering noises from Archives here.

Hi there!
I read that one and really liked your headcanon about Danny and his relationships with his exs and wondered if you had any for JimmyTimmy? I know you're more a tigerghost blog so it's okay if you don't!
It's so funny that I have that reputation since I've only been active in the fandom for like a few months.
But actually I do have a few! I was playing with the idea of expanding this into an actual fic at some point, but if you're curious I included the main points below the cut.
I like to hc that Jimmy's never actually been in a relationship or even kissed anyone before. I know his implied love interest in canon is Cindy (I don't recall if they actually get together in canon or if there was anyone else he showed interest in), but I always saw them more as rivals that end up begrudgingly becoming friends over the years. I also believe that Jimmy would know he's demi-sexual and homo-romantic from a very early age. It just never comes up in conversation because he simply shuts down any conversation about romance by saying he doesn't find the person his friends are talking about attractive (Cindy starts a betting pool with the others because she's picked up on the fact that Jimmy is basically gay but everyone else thinks he's ace).
While Jimmy's love life is rather drama-free for most of his adolescence and early teen years, Timmy on the other hand experiences the equivalent of seven different disney channel tween rom-com movies. He's caught up in the fantasy he's created of Trixie, and his affection will bounce between her and Cindy depending on which girl has shown more attention in the last few days. He'll often annoy Jimmy with his elaborate plans on how he intends to ask one of them out. Occasionally he'll also spend an entire afternoon on an inter-dimensional video call about how annoying Tootie has been lately and what her latest scheme had been to win Timmy's affection.
Jimmy meanwhile has realized he has feeling for Timmy, but locks them away because he believes Timmy is straight. He's honestly just content that Timmy reaches out to him as often as he does and that they're able to still spend time together. He also never points out that what Tootie is doing to Timmy is the exact same thing that Timmy is doing to Trixie and Cindy.
Right before they enter high school, Timmy will read the signals wrong and ask Cindy to go steady with him, but Cindy will politely turn him down and say she'd rather they just be friends. Completely crushed, he'll double down in his attempt to woo Trixie and pull out all the stops, putting on this extremely cringey and embarrassing performance to ask her to be his girlfriend (he got the idea from Cosmo). She'll just straight up laughs in his face and will stomp on his heart, leaving him to be the laughing stock of the school. When Tootie comes and tries to comfort him, Timmy will snap and yell at her, saying all sorts of hurtful things to her face and making her cry.
High school starts, and Timmy finds himself a complete social outcast. No one want to be associated with him after the stunt he pulled to ask out Trixie (even Chester and AJ don't want to spend time with him). Timmy then starts spending more time in Jimmy's universe, annoying Jimmy by randomly showing up inside his lab. Jimmy's annoyed at first, but realizes that Timmy's just lonely and lets him stick around. Timmy eventually makes himself at home (he sets up base in a small corner of the lab that is basically his area that Jimmy doesn't interfere with), and will say something to Jimmy along the lines of "I'm really glad you're apart of my life." Which just kills Jimmy a little bit because he knows that Timmy means it platonically.
After a few months of teen melodrama and some advice from Jimmy, Timmy will approach Tootie with the intent of apologizing to her. He finds her is eating alone in the lunch room at school and just spits out the apology point blank. It will take some time, but the two will reconcile and become friendly with each other, but Tootie will still harbor feelings for Timmy.
Meanwhile, for plot reasons, Remy will transfer to Timmy's school. Timmy expects that Remy is going to make his life hell, but a few weeks pass and Remy seems to actually be avoiding Timmy. It's messing with Timmy's head. He can't have his guard up the entire time at school, Remy was always more of a threat than Mr. Crocker ever was. So during one of the school's pep rally's, Timmy will pull Remy under the bleachers and confront him. Remy promises that he's done with trying to expose Cosmo and Wanda, and Timmy wants to know how he can trust Remy's words. Remy will then kiss him, confusing the hell out of Timmy. He says he has feeling for Timmy, and would never do anything that would hurt Timmy and ruin his chances. Timmy is hung up on the fact that they're both guys and Remy just kissed him??? So he says nothing and just walks away.
The next day he'll be sitting with Chester & AJ in class and tells them about it (they never apologized for ditching Timmy at the start of high school but he doesn't really have any other friends and they're forced to talk with him since they all sit next to each other). AJ asks if Timmy knows what homosexuality and bisexuality is, and Timmy has honestly never heard of those terms before. After all, his parents never let him watch TV or give him money to go out, and still force him to have a babysitter at his age. When AJ explains it all (he has graphs and examples of non-heterosexual relationships observed in other mammals) something just clicks for Timmy. When school is done with, he runs home (ignoring Remy and Tootie who are both planning to confess their feeling again) and poofs over to Jimmy's lab.
Jimmy's surprised to see him. But he's even more surprised when Timmy just grabs him by both shoulders and pulls him in for a kiss without another word. Jimmy's brain literally crashes (he wonders if he's having a stroke or some sort of stress-dream), and when Timmy pulls aways he's a blushing mess. Timmy will apologize and start rambling on about how he just found out that this was a possibility and that it makes sense. He always feels comfortable around Jimmy and once he realized two guys could be together, kissing Jimmy was the first thing that popped into his head. Timmy keeps talking for several minutes as Jimmy attempts to process everything, but Timmy will end up taking Jimmy's silence as a bad sign and try to leave. Jimmy's forced to grab Timmy's hand to make him stay and they then just sit in silence for several hours as Jimmy rearranges his thoughts (Timmy will eventually fall asleep on him as they just sit on the floor of the lab).
After that they start dating. Tootie and Remy have no idea until Jimmy shows up one day to pick up Timmy from school for a hang-out/date. Timmy is casually chatting with Tootie and Remy (as both of them continue to interrupt each others attempts to ask Timmy on a date), when Timmy suddenly breaks away from them and charges at a boy they'd never seen before (Jimmy) who just showed up at the school gate. Timmy tackle's Jimmy at top speed, nearly barreling him over as they hug and plants a big kiss on Jimmy's cheek. He waves goodbye to Tootie and Remy, who are just watching slack-jawed as Timmy walks away hand-in-hand with Jimmy. Tootie and Remy then form an alliance to take down Jimmy so they can go back to fighting for Timmy's affection.

Alright, the new episode. I haven't talked about new episodes in like two years. Back then I was on Twitter. How things have changed.
One thing hasn't changed. Parker, how many times have you worn that exact same shirt in these videos? Is that your favorite shirt or something?
Oh, also, the hand gestures. Those haven't gone anywhere.
At least he's still leaving his hair longish.
Thank you for asking the question we all had, Chester.
He's obviously trying to look like a psychologist or something. However, I appreciate it as a more general "This is how an intellectual dresses" vibe. I have a history of trying to write intellectual Parker (White Noise, Stars Shining) so this fits well for me.
Slightly annoyed honestly, the new fic I'm working on starts with a dive into psychology a bit and now I feel like it's gonna look like I was trying to rip off this episode.
Pretty sure we've seen him in glasses somewhere before though.
Okay, the little Beauty and the Beast sign is cute.
I legit think that Caleb might have been Chester in a wig. He sounds like him, has a similar body shape, etc. They purposely blur his face when he turns to look at Parker in the next shot. Of course, that might just be to hide the horrible vomit effect but still, why do we never see his face? Usually they show their faces.
Everything about this scene. The way Parker's hair is weird and kinda styled like he was trying to avoid getting the gunk on him. The way his glasses are somehow spotless yet he still takes a moment to clean them. The way he thinks this is vomit but is just totally fine with it. Would you just stand there calmly if somebody just threw up on your face? Also, does this count as blackface?
Pretty certain she only invited them over because she wanted to bang Parker and you know what? Good for her. Go for it girl.
I appreciate the extra detail that this bed is the nicest, cleanest bed they've had on the show. They could have just made it generically gross like the other beds but no, they wanted to make sure we all saw how spotless Chester's bed was when he lied to Parker.
I love that this is the smallest bed yet but Parker sleeps like a legit vampire.
Pretty sure they just had Beetlejuice in their house.
Thank you for catering towards my choking kink once more guys.
Unfortunately, no marks left on his throat this time.
The way they seem to go out of their way to show her barefoot just to stick her in these random heels in bed? Was she trying to seduce Parker with her bare feet? Or did she put on the heels before bed in case he came back and took her up on her offer?
And lastly, the apparently broken clock:
#life of luxury#there's a reason it has the initials LOL#spoilers I guess#as if we don't all know what is going to happen

*Massive Explosion* It's question time mfs!!!
1) How bad do things have to get before your Bug asks for help?
2) If the group was trapped right before escaping the arena and Bug was told they had to pick one of the gator boys to die, which boy would they sacrifice?
(They have to pick otherwise they will all die, no avoiding it)
3) Does your Bug often find themself feeling guilty for something they've done? Either in the past or recently?
4) Is your Bug ok with crying around others?
If no, why not? Is there a way to change that?
If yes, how easy is it to make your Bug cry? Are they very emotional?
5) Scenario time #1!!! (cw: poor mental health)
(Yes this is long, I'm sorry, I promise you can talk at some point)
Life is hard, it always has been. Bug knew that, Bug knew life wasn't going to get easier and that's how they found themselves lost out here.
They had been struggling recently, like really struggling, so one day they decided they would walk out into the swamps and whatever happened...happened. They didn't know where they were going, they didn't know how far from home they were, they simply knew that they were alone.
It had been days since they left the others, days since they decided to run away and hopefully never be seen again. But it wasn't until this exact moment that they realised something...they didn't want to never see them again. The Bugs, the boys, they wanted to see them again. They also realised, at this moment, that they were so lost they'd probably never be able to make it home again
This caused them to break down, they cried as they crouched on the floor, already regretting their choices from days prior. They didn't know what to do, it was all too much and that's when they felt it...a cold hand gently resting on their shoulder as a voice spoke from beside them
"*Bug*? Oh *Bug* we've been looking for you for days! What are you doing all the way...out...here, oh"
Chester knelt beside them, his hand still on their shoulder as he realised what was going on. He wiped some of Bugs tears away as he tried to comfort them
"*Bug*, it's okay, things will be okay. Even if that doesn't look possible right now. They will be, we'll make sure of it..."
Okay generic comfort wasn't helping, he sighed, thought of what he could say that may help in some way then stood up and began to speak once more
"Look I want to help but I think in order to help I need to know what's going on, so why not we make our way home and if you want you can talk about what's up on the way there, ok? No pressure if you don't want to but it's an option"
He paused, considering his words carefully before continuing
"You mean alot to me, you all do, and I wanna help in any way I can. So tell me what's wrong... once again only if you want to...either way though we need to get you home, its cold out here and getting sick won't help anybody!"
He offered them a small smile before reaching out a hand to help them up, their choice
Do they wanna talk abt it?
6) Scenario time #2!! (Inspired by @idontevenknow7878 ghost stuff!!!)
It was a rainy day, really quite heavy rain and against all of the other bugs warnings (and Chez's concerned nagging about the dangers of going out in the swamps when it rains) your Bug decided to head outside. They walked around the swamps in the pouring rain, no sounds other than the wind and the rain hitting the ground...well and that occasional giggle coming from nowhere yet also everywhere.. but they chose to ignore that
Till they couldn't ignore it anymore as the source of the noise was stood...not stood...was hovering right infront of them.
The figure they saw looked sort of like Chez, but different. This boy was noticeably younger, perhaps around 17? 19 at a push. His hair was much shorter though the same blond tone, his eye colour however did not match Chez, they were blue unlike Chez's purple eyes. The final, and most noticeable, differenc though was the smile plastered over the boys face, a smile you would never catch Chez with. The boy laughed as he danced in the air, he spotted Bug and seemed shocked when he realised Bug could see him too!
"*gasp* you can see me! Oh my divines that's the best news I've heard in like forever!"
He sold over to beside Bug and hovered Iver their shoulder as he introduced himself
"The names Milo! Milo Markins! Sorry if I seem excited its just I've been able to see you guys for so long but nobodies ever been able to see me before!!!"
He spin around Bug, still grining like an idiot
"I just can't believe somebody can finally see me! And one of my brothers friends no less, tell me has he let up since I died? Or did he nag you about the 'dangers of going outside when it rains' as well?"
Does your Bug talk to ghosts?
7) Silly scenario so that we can leave on a slightly cheerful note! (Based on smth I do lol)
Modern! AU
Chez had been in his room for a while so Bug decided to go check up on him, from outside the room they could hear loud music playing...well if you could call that music. It was really just a load of shouting with some instruments-
Anyways, they knocked on the door and upon getting no response they sighed and let themself in only to find Chez lying on the floor just staring at the ceiling
"Chez? Wtf are you doing?"
He glanced over at them
"Floor time, you wanna join?"
That's it you lay on the floor, listen to metal music and stare at the ceiling. My fav activity

I've seen the theories about how Chester and Norris aren't actually Jon and Martin following the most recent episode (or are and are evil / controlled by the web) and I'm not ruling it out but IDK.
To me, this could still be another case of Jon trying to warn Sam away (albeit one that goes horribly, horribly wrong). Like the statement starting immediately after Celia sort of convinces Sam to give up looking into the Magnus Institute is kinda damning and I can see why people are seeing it as a lure. But on the other side of things, Sam is still doing the same stuff that Alice keeps warning him is going to get him into trouble, he's engaging with the weird shit in the office. He's filling out the deeply cursed paper work and answering the deeply concerning questions.
So a statement about someone doing something seemingly innocuous (rolling a pair of dice) and being met with costly rewards and horrible misfortune doesn't exactly seem out of place. (we can all see the parallels between 'I refuse to give it the satisfaction of giving up', 'It's kind of compelling at this point.' and 'I still don't really know if they made me roll them' and 'I don't think I ever felt them calling me' right?)
Also insert small domino to big domino meme here but the first step to Jon destroying the world and possibly dooming the multiverse was literally him signing a contract (and the contract itself does have some supernatural significance based on the way daisy joined). I also think - given we don't know how much control Jon and Martin have over their statements (but there are thematic parallels) the Magnus Institute link might be at least in part Jon's own trauma - (please for the love of god this place is deeply cursed and the worse nothing good can come from this it only has eye mutilation and cursed dice) and part hey Sam remember your horrible hidden trauma about this place, it is so much worse than you think pls stop poking around while you still can.
Like I think the first statement, the 'canaries should stay above ground' was just a general warning. Look at this horrible thing that happened but don't look to hard, let's just move on, we're not even going to tell you what happened just allude to the horrors. Only Sam didn't take that warning. And Jon's been here before, in this exact position in fact, being kept ignorant never did him any favours it just meant he made things worse in his search for answers. So I think this is his way of saying look, this is the kind of thing the Magnus institute dealt with. This is how horrible it was, and how terrible it could be for you. STOP.
(I actually kind of think that the Gerry thing was another attempt to do this that backfired. Gerry was the one who properly clued Jon in about the world and if we assume that Jon has access to the supernatural files but only the supernatural files then he knows that Gerry was involved with the MI but not what happened to him after. So he might have been hoping that Gerry would give Sam this universe's version of colour theory only for Gerry to turn out to be a happy, friendly painter - better for Gerry but not as helpful as a haunted encyclopaedia)

Late live episode due to me panic baking!
The Magnus Protocol - 29 Keyed in spoilers below.
Oh Sam is alive that’s nice poor Celia for tripping over her.
Samama “it was a Bentley” Khalid.
It was searching for something? It wanted information about the Institute.
Do you think that ERROR was what the old man was creating?
God this is traumatising for Sam.
Celia I need you so bad you don’t understand.
Ah the ladies are arguing love that.
CHESTER. FUCK.
missing Norris
Hm Homicide. Wonder what that’s about
Currently sat on the floor behind the door to really create the desperate atmosphere ( art shit is all over my bed)
Yeah how does this turn into a homicide sweetheart?
Oh they’re old and inlove. How is there murder.
The music. Oh nice new words
“Odemknout své srdce”
Sigh this is a code isn’t it.
DID SHE KILL HIM.
The key to the lock?
Nevermind lock gone.
“Unlock your heart” I see.
Hm Chester so much passion and character in Open. This is a damn journal.
Ah the wooden door has the key.
My brownies are nearly ready damn.
Lock room? It’s the lock museum why am I confused.
Strange -> Simple.
Aha. Why is there the noise of moving a locked handle ahaha what.
Sharp lock with blood nice
Their lock was in the Lock Museum. And the simple one was bloody. Hm
Picked up the lock and then obviously everything went to hell.
Oh so they translated it.
Oh so to get out is to kill the other.
‘Unlock your heart’ meaning to kill your loved one to escape.
Oh so he just died from slipping.
Oh!
No he begged for help.
The fear here was their death. And using their love to seal both their fates. Nothing really to guess.
The key unlocks anything after they sacrificed their love. She believes it can remove her grief.
FUCK
Brownies are ready :3
Oh Chester is losing the Jon-ness
When she killed Stanley her love for him left as she unlocked her love. Sweet
ALICEEEEEEEEE MY LOVE
TEDDY OH MY GODDD TEDDYDYYYYYYYY
Oh
Worm?
His new job???
What is it???
ALICE DYER YOU AAAAAAAA
wh
Oh Sam
For fucks sake Sam
Alice dyer the woman you are
Teddy yk we love you dearly
ALICE DYER THE WOMAN YOU ARE
ALICE
“I can’t let you pass without a ticket :|”
ALICE
ALICE MY LOVE
Alice what’s going on
Alice dyer
ALICE
WHAT THE FUCK
WH
WHATS
NO
ERROR DID YOU NOT PAU FOR A TICKET WHAT THE FUCK
ERROR. oh that’s it’s. NICE!
Well time to get my burning brownies
Hm.
So those were some episodes
My brownies didn’t burn they were still gooey after 30 minutes in the oven which is nice (not)
So Sam passed out the prior episode and survived which we all can yippie at that. Passing out and having no control of your body is very traumatising and for Sam to instantly panic and decide that dealing with ERROR was his priority is. Concerning. But god he is going to do the exact same thing as Jonathan. Celia not wanting for him to go alone but while also hating the idea of even entertaining ERROR at all seems like an accurate response. I feel like people experiencing the horrors together feels more relevant in this rather than TMA but still all the inescapable horrors happen alone anyways. I had something i was meant to add one but ill mention it in another post
The case the case the case. Chester read it thanks Jonathan for that. Two old lovers went to their most important place of travel where Stan proposed and they had locked their love on the bridge. They then went into a ‘Lock Museum’ and gained an ivory key and looked at all the locks there. A saying was found Unlock your love which referenced the act of killing your lover and setting your love for them go to escape. We can assume she didn’t love him after escaping as she said she “wouldn’t miss him”. Nothing too alchemy themed here really and it was just a case about two lovers who had to sacrifice the other to escape the horrors oh it’s Jmart again of fucking course. No words after that fuck you Chester. Bring back Norris 2024.
Alice my love you care so so much you have such a big heart and you’re such a little shit. Nothing wrong with Alice truly. Alice seems slightly bitter about Sam’s new adventures in the OIAR, enough to express it to Teddy who HAS MYSTERIES OF HIS OWN???? What’s up with his new job is it like tha Magnus institute from the hit podcast The Magnus Archives????? Whats that about Teddy boy what’s going on. But realistically I’m assuming he’s having trouble keeping a job after leaving the OIAR. I wonder if it has to do with the horrors that lurk. Maybe he’s having troubles in his jobs so he has to turn to the OIAR? Would make sense. Also Dammit Alice truly cares she heard Sam was going on that train and decided to really leave her lovely pint. and last but not least ERROR IS ON THE TRAIN????????? Either a) Error paid a very, very expensive ticket. Or b) jumped the metro like a boss. Either way, way to go Error way to go.
Now after an hour of listening taking a break and screaming online my brownies are still NOT DONE!!!!!!

...What does race have to do with this?
Also, doesn't the exact same law apply to small companies as well? Like, say, a corner store where the owner's kid works behind the counter?
What, precisely, was the nature of the violations?
So from what I can tell, it's a local franchisee, presumably done without corporate's knowledge.
None of the charges actually seem to be "having child employees", which is actually legal, just restricted. It was things like not offering breaks, and not getting work permits or parental authorization.
Which is bad, obvs, but I feel like LAC is, as usual, misrepresenting the situation.
White supremacy and US prison policy go hand in hand.

Review: They Met in a Taxi (Alfred E. Green, 1936)
If you haven't seen this movie yet, I strongly advise you to not read this review, to not read any reviews, and to go in knowing as little as possible. It's a much more fun and rewarding experience to go in completely fresh, I promise.
What a lovely surprise! They Met in a Taxi is a fun romantic comedy that ends up pulling a really clever bait and switch part of the way few. For the first chunk of the movie it's set up to look like one of the 'runaway bride' screwball clones that were pretty common following the critical, financial, and awards success of It Happened One Night. (To be clear, I don't generally have a problem with those clones, and 1936's Love on the Run is actually one of my very favorite movies). Ambitious cab drive Chester Morris takes one of his regular fares - a gossip columnist of the social upper crust - to a pre-wedding gathering for a European Count and one of the city's most eligible bachelorettes. So when an incredibly upset woman in a wedding dress (Fay Wray) rushes into his cab while he's waiting for his regular and demands he drive her away, he assumes she's the bride-to-be fleeing her groom. He agrees to help her, even allowing her to say the night at his place, only because he's trying to save up to buy a fleet of cabs and she's promised to pay him well once the ordeal is over.
With the way it's all set up, we're clearly meant to make the same assumption Morris's character does, and the writer (Noel Langley) seems to be using the audience's knowledge of the 'runaway bride' subtype of the screwball genre to guide us toward that assumption. It's such a great setup, very meta in the way it uses the conventions of the genre, and in particular this subtype of the genre, to guide the viewer's expectations of where the story will go in order to make the story's twist really hit. Because Wray's character is not actually the wealthy bride to be, which we learn at the exact same moment Morris's character does. She's actual a model who was hired to model the wedding dress for the bride to be, but when an expensive necklace - a gift from the Count to his fiancée - went missing and she was blamed, she ran away from the scene in a panic and ended up in Morris's taxi. It's a revelation that complete shifts what the movie is into something else, more into the realm of screwball mystery, another popular subtype of the genre at the time.
It's such a fun, clever twist on the runaway bride formula, and really I think it's a twist that only became more effective with the passage of time, as the runaway bride screwball and its formula became even more deeply entrenched in the collective cultural consciousness.
But as great and well done as that twist is, it's not by any means the only thing the movie has going for it. While there are aspects of the mystery that don't work as well as they could have (which is not exactly uncommon with even some of the best screwball mysteries), there are enough solid twists to the stories to play around with expectations and the create a real question as to how honest Wray's character is being. There are also a lot of fun relationship dynamics. At the center is, obviously, the romance between Morris and Wray, which does a really great job of creating that usual screwball give and take where they drive each other crazy but clearly are also crazy about each other. As Lady in a Jam, which I watched on the same night, proves, that's not actually an easy tight rope to walk, but They Met in a Taxi really threads that needle. It's not the only interesting relationship, though. By the end of the movie an unlikely friendship group has grown beyond just Morris and Wray to include the gossip columnist (played by Raymond Walburn) and Morris's fellow cabbie who has a past of theft and picking pockets (played by Lionel Stander). This is a pretty short movie, so there's not a lot of runtime to play with, but it's still able to take time to establish a solid relationship among this group, decent motivations for Walburn and Stander to help out, and to have some fun with the dynamics among the characters.
They Met in a Taxi is a real treat, and deserves to be a lot better known than it is. It doesn't appear to have any commercial releases, nor does it look like it's available on any of the streaming services. But there it has been uploaded to youtube and there are rare video and rare classic dealers online who sell copies, so thankfully it's pretty easy to watch. But it does deserve a better release with a better video quality.

passionate need for your thoughts on what characters C-wing plays for Smash, who wins the most, who is throttling the other for "cheating" ....
get ready for a bunch of smash knowledge i've picked up thru osmosis from my brother >:)
Torston strikes me as one of those people that has like, their favorite. He plays Bowser and nothing but Bowser and insists that Bowser is always the best choice. And he is only okay at playing Bowser. He likes to blame his losses on how many shots he's had.
Chester is the same as Torston, except he's really bad at Wario. But he will fart on other players and howl with laughter until someone kicks him off so someone else can actually play.
Trant plays with Mikael at home and exudes dad energy while he plays, giving advice to the other players and encouraging them, not picking on the person with one life left, that sort of thing. He puts the character thing on random and usually does really well with whatever he gets. (I bet he has a soft spot for Ice Climbers. He just has that kind of vibe.)
Harry fucking sucks at smash. He just does. Jean has tried to teach him. Kim's even tried to teach him. It doesn't stick. Half his deaths are to falling off the edge.
Jean's pretty decent. He plays Sheik and only Sheik. He played growing up and still has... unresolved feelings over the way Zelda could turn into Sheik and back
Jude's still learning, but she's getting really good at Marth and the other sword-wielding characters. She's mastered the art of jumping back onto the platform when knocked off, so she's already head and shoulders above Harry and Chester. She usually prefers to play with Trant and Jean, who are less competitive about the whole thing.
Kim "doesn't care" about winning or losing. He'll only play "if no one else wants to." It's "just a game." Except.... He brought his old-style nintendo controller for the switch. And then he goes and picks Peach, again. He's mastered floating just above the ground. He will throw turnips at just the right moment to piss you off. Get ready to bounce on that fucking umbrella the moment he gets you up into the air. And when people complain that Peach is OP, he'll switch to Daisy, who has the exact fucking same broken moveset. Why are you getting so upset, Chester? This is a game for children :)
#kim's only claim to fame in high school was being very good at smash#disco elysium#points at jean. i cast trans ur gender.#sybilius

Oh Danatole Brainrot We’re Really In It Now, aka Danatole playlist annotations!
I am NOT going apologize for making this. I’m not. But know I am feeling shame.
Nobody - Hozier
“I wouldn’t fall for someone I thought couldn’t misbehave”
This is a bit of a best-case-scenario song, but I really feel like the vibes are encapsulated here. It’s got the energy of “i love you because we sin together and it’s fun” and also “I have a lot of lovers but lowkey.... you’re my fave 😳” which is, as I said, the best I could ever see them getting to.
Bad Decisions - Bastille
“So we’ll make the same mistakes til the morning breaks”
This song is about being idiots together and also knowing it’s not good for you which is the vibe. Also the refusal to have an Actual Relationship in “love me, leave me, rhythm of the evening” pops off. This song GETS that it’s a more casual thing but also weirdly important to them. Oh and “maybe this is where it ends” can be interpreted to be about the elopement plan if you want to stretch it.
Quarter Past Midnight - Bastille
“Good times, bad decisions”
“Let’s go be stupid together in public and also maybe hold hands uwu”
Glory - Bastille
“Passing the drink from hand to hand, we admit we really know nothing at all”
“Let’s go get drunk together in private and also maybe hold hands uwu”
Nocturnal Creatures - Bastille
“We’ve only got ourselves to blame, again and again and again”
The whole deal with this song is like. We’re in love kind of I guess but like only when in certain situations when our guard is down. Does that make sense?? It does in my head. And the idea of it being something stupid that they both keep coming back to despite being aware of it really fits. Disclaimer I’m not trying to suggest these two are Deeply In Love I’m just bad at wording things
Nicotine - Panic! At The Disco
“I taste you on my lips and I can’t get rid of you”
“You’re bad for me but we keep coming back to each other” vibes again. I don’t think Anatole is aware of how bad this actually is, he canonically has no idea he’s being manipulated, but I do think Dolokhov has a much better perspective on it. In my mind, Dolokhov really wishes he did not feel Anything for Anatole but. That is not working out the way he planned it, so a lot of these “why do I keep doing this :/“ songs are more from Dolokhov’s side than Anatole’s.
The Waves - Bastille
“Oh what would your mother say if she could see what we’re doing now?”
Look I added this for the Dolokhov’s mom jokes okay. That was the whole reason. I could very much see Anatole saying this exact thing to him.
Hell and You - Amigo the Devil
“Live with me in this sin forever”
Man the ENERGY of this song. The admittance and focus on them both being terrible people but enjoying being terrible together...yeah that’s them.
4am - Bastille
“You are my familiar”
The idea of just accepting something maybe not so great because it’s familiar which becomes easy which becomes fun...I very much think that’s how their relationship progressed, at least from Dolokhov’s end (You’re probably thinking “wow Wren, this playlist is super skewed toward Dolokhov’s feelings on the matter” and you’re right it’s because I hate Anatole 🥰). It’s definitely too forthcoming about actually enjoying the experience but oh well. Oh, and I stole a line from it for a fic once so it gets a permanent spot.
Bad Romance - Lady Gaga
“You and me could write a bad romance”
It is objectively a bad romance, but the real reason this song is on here is that I always forget it is and it makes me laugh every time
It Will Come Back - Hozier
“Don’t let it in with no intention to keep it”
Man Dolokhov really said ok I will manipulate this kid for a lil bit for money and then seven years later he’s helping him plan some illicit elopement for no personal gain huh. Life is crazy. Basically this song covers the “you were not intending for me to stick around but I’m a fixture of your life now!” thing. I wholeheartedly believe Dolokhov never planned to spend this much time with the Kuragins he just accidentally got attached.
Mamma Mia - ABBA
“You know you won’t be away too long”
It doesnt work super well but it makes me laugh okay!!! The concept of being bad for each other and not really working well but coming back to each other for some reason anyway is there.
No Light, No Light - Florence + The Machine
“No light in your bright blue eyes”
I heard the phrase bright blue eyes and smashed the add to playlist button, that’s it. But the more I listened to it the more I decided it could work post-elopement if you stretch it. “I’d do anything to make you stay” is obviously intended to be a romantic don’t-leave-me thing in the song but you can take it as the preparations scene if you really want. Not to suggest preparations is a romantic don’t-leave-me thing, that is very much not what I mean. “You cant choose what stays and what fades away” We all know Anatole wanted to flounce off with Natasha but in the end he was left eating dinner with Dolokhov 😔✌🏻 Dolokhov stayed and Natasha faded away hmmmm. Yes, purposely misinterpreting media is one of my favorite pastimes, why do you ask?
A Little Party Never Killed Nobody - Fergie
I don’t even have a lyric for this this is straight up just there for the hedonism/partying energy
We Are Young - fun.
“Maybe we could find new ways to fall apart”
This is mostly also just here for the friends/lovers at bars and parties living it up type beat. But the line “I know that I’m not all that you’ve got/I guess that I just thought maybe we could find new ways to fall apart” bit does kinda hit. It’s by no means exclusive but they do kinda have fun yknow? Also the awareness that they are falling apart rather than doing anything worthwhile or loving is pretty fun.
Fine Line - Harry Styles
“You’ve got my devotion, but man I can hate you sometimes”
Obviously Dolokhov would not admit to being devoted to Anatole, and I don’t think I can in good conscience say that he is, but I think he’s definitely more devoted than he wants to be. It’s more about the hate line anyway. I initially just added it because I was like oh it works as a fine line between love and...not love, but honestly some of the lyrics work pretty well. Now that I’m armed with the knowledge that Anatole’s name means sunrise, I can say “you sunshine, you temptress” fits too.
I Dare You - The Regrettes
“I never wanted to get too close to you but now it looks like I’m getting too close to you”
RIGHT OFF THE BAT this one gets it. That lyric is The Vibe. “You’re gonna fall but I’ll catch you” is reminiscent of Dolokhov helping Anatole get out of (and into) messes constantly, although in an ideal world it would be a lot more grudging. And not to harp on about this but “you’re the one that brings the sun” 🔈ANATOLE MEANS SUNRISE🔈
Nine in the Afternoon - Panic! At The Disco
“Your eyes are the size of the moon”
I did warn you guys there would be several songs on here that are only there because they mention eyes, right? I definitely said that somewhere. I am going to use Dolokhov’s bright blue orbs for my nefarious Danatole playlist purposes and there’s nothing you can do about it. “You could cause you can so you do” does encapsulate Anatole’s thought process pretty well though, I think.
The Mighty Fall - Fall Out Boy
“Your crooked love is just a pyramid scheme”
Not Dolokhov constantly using Anatole for money 🙄✋🏻 MLM in more ways than one. But also the idea of falling for someone being a kind of defeat works well. Admit you like him, Dolokhov. I dare you.
Bromance - Chester See & Ryan Higa
“Bromance, nothing really gay about it”
Historians will say they were roommates. I’m sorry this song just makes me laugh and I refuse to remove it.
Sarah Smiles - Panic! At The Disco
“You fooled me once with your eyes now, honey, you fooled me twice with your lies”
Rhyming eyes with lies is peak Dolokhovcore! And the “Sarah doesn’t care, she lives in her world so unaware” is Anatolecore because he’s stupid. The bit about “my destiny lies with her” or whatever is irrelevant ignore that.
Fred Astaire - Jukebox the Ghost
“Those eyes, they get me every time”
The entire rest of this song is someone being blind to the other person’s flaws and initially I was like wow this doesn’t work at all and then I realized it could be stretched to mean Anatole being super oblivious to Dolokhov’s manipulation. But when it comes down to it, it’s about the eye lyric.
I Don’t Know Why I Like You But I Do - The Wombats
The title says it all. Literally that’s the whole explanation.
Daft Pretty Boys - Bad Suns
“I don’t like you, you look so pretty from afar”
If you don’t think Dolokhov calls Anatole a pretty boy (derogatory) you’re so wrong and I cannot help you. That was why I added it but the vibes of “you’re hot but wow your personality is terrible and I hate you” are there so. Enjoy! Oh and the bit about wasting your time works too, I can think of like sixty three better things off the top of my head Dolokhov could be doing than hanging out with Anatole, including but not limited to stapling his own fingers together and arson.
Rich Friends - Portugal. The Man
“I could really really really use a rich rich friend like you”
Do I HAVE to explain this one? I also like “Hey man I’m cool to lean on but I’m not your property” for them, if you stretch it it gets across the way Anatole thinks Dolokhov is His Friend but in reality. He’s using him HDHHSHDHDHBS Also the chorus has hedonism vibes, which ALWAYS works with these two.
#why do i insist on shaming myself for this ship. idk#war and peace#fedya dolokhov#anatole kuragin#my post#w&p playlists#rat hours#danatole

.
1941, Camp Lehigh
.
"Come on, ladies! I don't see much effort in those push-ups! I want that chin touching the ground!" The boots of the Major's stood at the end of his face, gritting his teeth, he felt the blood rush to his face as he forced himself up slower than the others.
Rogers glanced up to the woman who wasn't even looking at him. No pettiness was shown on her face when she looks at him, but she didn't even glance at him to yell.
The way she did it made him think she was trying to intimidate him to push more. He ignored her and continued to push up. "All right, stand up," She calls out, the soldiers jumped back onto their feet.
The soldiers held their hands behind their backs, chins high up as they panted. She didn't look at the scrawny boy on his knees as she continued on. "Sergeant Duffy will have you run a two mile trail, after that you'll continue on with the push-ups, sit-ups and jumping jacks once again along with your drill commands before we do the dirty work."
Hodge, one of the trainees smiled at that as he looked over to his buddies who had the same thought of what she said. They laughed lightly as the woman gets a tap on her shoulder and turns to the other woman who spoke into her ear.
The Major nods to her and turns back to the soldiers, "All right, you know the drill." The woman nods at them and sends them off.
Rogers watched as she walked away from them and Duffy called them all in for that run. "All right, you heard Major L/N! Fall in!" Duffy shouts.
Steve found out her name was Y/N from Erskine, said she was a soldier like him before. Scrawny like him, asthma, high blood pressure, and similar illnesses he had. She was probably in her thirties by now, joined at the age of 17 and she struggled the same way he did before she built up so much and became taller and stronger.
How he imagined himself just being the exact traits. He didn't realize his Major had turned around and looked at him, he didn't think to look away. He haven't spoken to her but wish he could-
"Rogers! I said fall in!" Duffy called, Steve broke his graze and rushed over to his teammates while Y/N watched him line with his group. She went inside the tent, spotting Chester Phillips and Peggy Carter in the room.
"How they looking?" Chester asked, Y/N walked over and sighed, "They're getting there."
"And the little one?" Chester was referring to Rogers. Y/N looked away from his gaze, "He's just a bit behind." Chester inhaled sharply and turned away. "Why would Dr. Erskine think this camp is some kind of circus. We're not getting out there if one man is pulling us back."
"Dr. Erskine has a point that Rogers is for the Project Rebirth."
"We need someone who we know is best. Like Hodge," Chester says. Y/N walks up to him, "Erskine told me Rogers had been trying to enlist himself into the army multiple times. He's wants to be out there."
"You only have pity for the boy because you're friends with Sergeant Barnes."
"Barnes has nothing to do with Rogers' enlistment to the army, that boy is just like the other men. I don't show pity for him because I know he can do it," Y/N almost shouts, some people can hear it from outside. Chester and Peggy stand there in silence as Y/N finally lets out a huff.
"I was just like him when I was 17. I've been serving this country for 10 years and you thought I couldn't do it from the beginning. Look where I got to, now. If I didn't get that chance to be in that project, I'm sure damn well I can make that happen for someone who is like me. And I don't fail my mission here, Colonel. He came here for a reason, I’m damn sure I can give him a reason to be in this army."
After that, Y/N walked out of the tent leaving Peggy and Chester speechless. No, Y/N wasn't crushing on Rogers. She was just like him when she was young, she didn't get that Project Rebirth thing during her training. It was just as hard as it was for him. Y/N was the only female who became one of the highest ranks in the army.
The first one to Major in the US army.
A day had gone by, the same routines for the candidates. Rogers struggling once again as Y/N watched them. Once again, ignoring him, he thought she was now just completely too frustrated to even look at him. Until she did.
One short glance, she looked away to spot Chester and Erskine coming their way. She glanced at Peggy, "Take over for me, please." She nods, "All right, up!"
Y/N walks up to the two men. "You stick a needle in that kid's arm, it's gonna go right through him," Chester says to Erskine. Y/N looks over to Rogers who's doing the jumping jacks with the group.
"Look at that," He says, "He's making me cry."
"I am looking for qualities beyond the physical," Erskine says, turning his head towards Chester. "By what I've heard from Peggy is that he had strategy on taking the flag by removing the pin. With that I think he's the one," Y/N said.
"Do you, Chester, know how long it took to set up this project?" Chester asked, Erskine groans, "All the groveling I had to do in front of Senator What's-His-Name's committees?"
"Brandt. Yes, I know. I am well aware of your efforts."
"Then throw me a bone. Hodge passed every test we gave him," The three look over to the taller man in the group. Y/N watched him in disgust, "He's big, he's fast. He obeys orders. He's a soldier."
"He is a bully," Erskine said.
"You don't win wars with niceness, Doctor," Chester looks over to the truck and walks over to it, taking a grenade. "You win wars with guts," Chester takes the clip out and snaps it, throwing it over to the group in front of them. "Grenade!"
Everyone looks down to see the grenade, "Move, move!" Hodge and the rest scatter off and Y/N watched as Rogers runs over to it. Peggy began to make the sacrifice as well till he slides on top of it and curls up.
"Get away!" He shouts, Peggy halts.
"Get back!" He swats his hand. Y/N watched in shock to see such a similarity of herself from him. The act of bravery and sacrifice. The memories of her life came rushing through.
His eyes were scrunched up to see the light just not on the Earth but it never came. Slowly, he opens his eyes confusingly. Quickly, he sits up. "It was a dummy grenade," Someone calls to the group on the other side while Steve looks around to the soldiers who continued on with their business.
Erskine managed to crack a smile.
Panting, he looks over to the three, "Is this a test?" Y/N walks over to him, Erskine looks at Chester as he shrugs. "He's still skinny."
Y/N stood at his feet as he looked up to her, all he saw was her grin before she looks up to the rest. "All right, back in line." Y/N holds her hand out to him and he takes it. Never in his life, a woman would do such a thing for him. Being ignored was one of them. Bucky knew one day he'd find someone, but Rogers knew it won't be close.
He takes her hand and she helps him up to his feet. She towered over him, "Brave thing you did," Was all she said to him that afternoon before leaving him there with the group as Peggy waited for them to get back in line.
Steve watched her go with Dr. Erskine.
It was dark that evening, most of the soldiers were either out hanging around the camp after a long day of training. Some rested in their tents or small lodges. Y/N heard that Steve was the chosen one and first thing in the morning he would go for that procedure. After that, Y/N will have to move on somewhere else.
Walking into the building, she spots Steve sitting on the edge of his bed, he looks over his shoulder and his face drops. "Major," He said. Y/N cracked a smile, "It's the end of the day, Rogers. When we're alone, I guess you can call me Y/N."
He smiled as she sat on the bed across from him. "Trouble sleeping?" She asked. He sighs, "Something like that, yeah."
She nods softly, "Excited for the procedure tomorrow?" He looks up at her. "Not sure I'm 100 percent," He says, she chuckles lightly. "You're lucky to be the one to do it. Those men couldn't pull off what you just did in the field. Gave me some memories of my training."
"You were bullied as well?" He asked.
She licks her lips, the grin losing its emotion, "I was similar to what you are. Back then, everyone never really expected a girl with asthmatic problems and such a small body that could snap if someone had simply shook my hand."
"Never knew you were like me. I mean, this training changed you other than being a project." Y/N smiles, "I never wanted to pity you. I never wanted to look at you with such hate and regret that you were just like me. The weak ones tend to be the most ignored beings and they still show goodness around others. I see that in you. In both of us."
"Guess you're the only woman who doesn't show much pity towards me."
Y/N grins, "You never spoken to a woman before?"
"This is the longest conversation I've had so far. Especially being alone in a room with beautiful one. I mean- You're...yeah..." He says. Y/N chuckled at him and slowly stood up, "I would've liked to be there for your procedure. But, you know, those men still need me. Carter will escort you to Dr. Erskine. I'm afraid you won't see me for a while."
Steve inhales sharply, "Well, I guess it's a goodbye, then."
"Goodbye is a rough one. Good people never say goodbye. They simply say... See you soon," She says. Steve smiled at her as she gently hung her head down as she walked out of the building, leaving Steve there alone. See you soon, Rogers.
.
1943
.
Steve hadn't been in the battle since the procedure. Chester gutted him out again.
"I asked for an army. All I got was you. You're not enough."
Steve would've burned those words in hell. As if the project meant nothing but some fun high school project ready to be thrown in the trash just to be noticed in the school papers. But, Steve was not turned down by Brandt. With his action in the papers of saving a child from a Hydra agent who killed Dr. Erskine for a super-soldier serum which was smashed on the ground. Brandt had given him a chance to serve his country, which Steve gladly accepted and he was promoted.
Steve was now on tour around the nation. This is not what he wanted, he got noticed by the people, but he wasn't in the action to take bullets and explosions.
This wasn't serving his country, this was offering them entertainment. He felt like a circus clown making balloons for the children and getting pictures by men and women, gladly signing everything.
If Y/N saw him now, she would scream like hell at Chester. Unless she's already doing that. She's probably more busy than he was right now. Probably fighting in the war with Hydra agents, punching men like he had punched Adolf Hitler two hundred times for 2 years straight.
This was too awkward for him, he couldn't even say it to anyone.
He was now in Italy performing in front of active servicemen, who seem to not like him at all.
"How many of you are ready to help me sock old Adolf on the jaw?" Steve asked in his proud voice, staring at the group of men watching him in boredom.
"Okay," He says, "Uh..." He thinks Y/N's there, trying to spot her in the crowd but it was all men. "I need a volunteer."
"I already volunteered! How do you think I got here?" One of the men called, the crowd laughs. "Bring back the girls!" Another shouts. Everyone cheers at that and Steve felt like a kid again. The bullying came back, it always did.
He turns his head, "I think they only know the one song, but, um," Steve turns again, "I'll see what I can do."
"You do that, sweetheart," A man calls. "Nice boots, Tinker Bell!" Hodge called, the crowd laughs. Steve's shoulders drop, "Come on, guys, we're all on the same team here."
This is exactly how it felt. A man who wanted to just be a man of service. And it became opposite. A kid who became a clown show for everyone to see and laugh at.
"Hey, Captain!" A man stands up, "Sign this!" The man pulls down his pants and Steve looks away from the man's butt he shown towards the stage and the crowd cheers.
Another man stands up and throws a tomato. Where the hell did he get that from? Steve lifts up his shield and the tomato splatters onto his shield. More came and he hid behind the shield.
Embarrassed, he storms offstage and the girls rush pass him causing the crowd to burst out in happiness as the women pose on stage. He hoped Y/N wasn't there to see him act like a clown and be treated like one.
He didn't see her, so he felt lucky.
But she was angry. She stood off to the side by the stage watching him get humiliated. The chance to go find him, she looks at the men on the ground and walked over to the stage.
Steve slowly walked offstage and sighed. "Don't worry, pal. They'll warm up to you. Don't worry," His stage man says, Steve walked down the stairs in silence as the woman rush up to do their song on the stage.
It began to rain, the show ended just an hour ago. He covered himself with a coat to hide the awful suit, telling himself a job well done. Well done to be embarrassed in front of men who he trained with.
He felt like a complete idiot.
All he did to get rid of those things was her and drawing. Not even realizing he was sketching her in his notebook alongside a monkey on a unicycle.
The rain pounded on the tent above him, the dirt turning into mud. He didn't hear the footsteps behind him on the stage as he doodled in his book.
"I see you have something on your mind," Someone spoke. Steve turns around to see Y/N, her coat in her arm as she smiled at him. His mouth gaped, "Hi."
She smiled, "You're a good drawer." She sits down next to him and reaches for his book, "May I?" He felt the blood rush to his cheeks as he nods handing her the book. She smiled at the sketch, "It's beautiful," She looks at him. The look of embarrassment washed away with his smile.
He could never get enough of it. "I almost didn't recognize you," She says.
Steve grins, "Was it the bullying that gave it away?"
She shook her head, her eyes looking over his features. "No. It was just you," She said. Steve looks down and fidgets with his hands, she shook her head again, "What the hell happened to you, Steve?"
He looks up, "Trust me, I would've wanted to be in a fight more than pretending to be in one. The crowd I'm used to are usually more, uh... twelve."
Y/N smiled, "Well, those idiots act like twelve years olds." Steve gave her a sided smile. "You were meant for more than this, you know. Not a lab rat or a dancing monkey," She points at the drawing beside her sketch.
She flipped the page and smiled, "Can I?" She asked. Steve hands her the pencil, she began to draw. "You know anyone would've wanted to be in your shoes right now. With this serum thing you could do anything, but Erskine chose you for that reason. You're a good man. If this was planned years ago, I would've done it as well. Being like us isn't easy."
Steve smiles at her, "How much were you bullied?"
"A lot. For a woman, I thought they'd just have at me one day. But they just told me to quit. No woman like you isn't gonna reach the big leagues. You'll die once you take a step into the field. Look where it got me now," She glanced at him.
Steve looks down to the book, her arm was blocking his view to see the drawing. "Did your parents support you?" He asked.
Y/N gently grins and loses it in a second, "My dad was in World War I, died from a grenade in the pit... He took the sacrifice and jumped on it."
"My dad was in the war, too. Died as well," He says. Y/N looks over, "I had a mom, she left the family just a week after I was born. Left a letter said she wasn't ready cause she was only 20. She felt too young cause she was 19 when she first found out. I was left with my dad's side of the family."
"I'm sorry," Was all he said. She shakes her head, "It's got to be at least someone to deal with it. Everyone's gotta have one problem in their lives to solve in the future. Conflict is what brings us to our ends or beginnings to what makes us, ourselves. It builds up your reputation, your actions, your life."
Such deeps words from someone who was similar to Steve himself. He wouldn't have said those words to explain some meaning to him. What she said was unbelievably right. Something you have to deal with in order to build your reputation.
Make it. Don't replace it.
Y/N closes the journal with the pencil inside. Handing it back to him with a smile, "Would be awesome to be like Captain America, maybe Miss America is up for the beauty pageants. Might want her as a side kick," Y/N winks playfully as she walks up the stairs to head back to the camp.
Smiling, he looks down at his journal and opens it.
Glad to see you again.
He read, the drawing she had was a picture of him. Without looking at him during their conversation, she seemed to have every detail of his face on the paper. He had a charming smile, his hair was exact like his there. Through all that talking, she made this and it would take an professional artist to pull this off in hours. This took her minutes. Her cursive was neatly written, something he would love to see more.
He glanced back but she was gone. Only to see her rush to the tent when a truck pulled in the injure man. Peggy came over, "They look like they've been through hell," Steve says to her.
She glanced over her shoulder, "These men more than most. Schmidt sent out a force to Azzano. Two hundred men went up against him, and less than 50 returned. Your audience contained what was left of the 107th." Steve's head shoots up.
"The rest were killed or captured."
"The 107th?" He asked, Peggy furrows her brows, "What?"
"Bucky? Oh, my God. It's me. It's Steve."
"Steve?" Bucky smiles as Steve helps him off the bed. "I thought you were smaller."
Steve looks around. Steve helps Bucky out.
Steve had gotten the 107th back from Hydra. Saved most of the soldiers back to camp. Everyone in the camps watched them walk in, all cheering for the Captain. Steve spotted Peggy and Chester. Raising his hand up, he salutes to Chester. "Some of these men need medical attention," Steve looks over to Peggy than back to Chester, "I'd like to surrender myself for disciplinary action."
"That won't be necessary," Chester says, he managed to crack a smile, "Yes, sir," Steve did as well. Chester turns to Peggy, "Faith, huh?" He asked.
She seemed worried, Steve furrowed his brows, "Where's Y/N?" Her eyes seem to wander off. "After you left for those men, she found out about it and went after you. I thought she'd return with you."
Steve's mouth was gaped in shock, fear of now he put his one possible friend in danger. "I have to go back to her."
"She said if she doesn't come back, don't go after her. That's what she told me," Peggy says. Steve let out a huff and she swallowed thickly. "She wanted to give you this, though."
Peggy pulls out a letter and slips it into his gloved hand. Steve stares at it and drops his hand down, wanting to open it when he's alone. Peggy gently smiles, "We'll find her. If you came back with these men, I'm sure you'll bring her back."
Peggy knew Steve had somewhat a connection with the woman. All she could think was that he should be the one to save her.
"Let's hear it for Captain America!" Bucky shouts. Everyone around him shouts and pat his back as he smiles.
Steve was in England for a briefing, he found out some of the coordinates from what he saw when saving Bucky. After explaining the coordinates, the man takes the map from Steve and Peggy, he looks at Peggy. "I just go a quick look."
She sighs, "Well, nobody's perfect."
Steve looks down again, "They must've taken her to either of those or the main base."
"We'll be sure to reach every single one for her Steve, your men will find her. I know that she's gonna be okay."
After the briefing with Chester and Peggy, Steve remembered the letter from Y/N. Going over to the desk, he leans on the desk and slips the letter out of his suit pocket and opens it.
See you soon.
He saw the similar writing, much like his mothers. Another drawing was him again, this time with a suit on. A Captain America suit of her artwork. The details and looks were good. Something he can arrange to Mr. Stark about. The shield was different. It was a circular shield, the star in the middle. Without colors, he assumed it would be red, white and blue, of course.
The helmet had wings on either side of his head, belt buckles below with a chin holster hanging loosely. The A in the center of his helmet representing America to his suit.
He loved it.
A smile grew on his lips. He'll make sure she sees what she built for him.
"A letter from a lover?" A woman asked, he looks up to see a blonde woman looking at him in the flirtatious way possible. It didn't phase him. "From a friend..."
"Well, if that friend was a girl, she'd be lucky to have you," The woman says, walking up to him. "You've saved over 400 men that day, you're a hero and I'm sure she's impressed."
"She's-uh... I-She's not interested--"
"Oh, I'm sure any girl would be interested in you," She grasps his tie, "The women of America, they owe you their thanks." Lightly, she pulls him leading him to hide behind the shelves. "And seeing as they're not here..." She grabs the collar of his coat and pulls him into a kiss.
He paused in shock before kissing her back. The letter goes back to his mind. A letter from Y/N. Then she popped into his head. His hands gently held her hips, not holding them there. Not sure where to put them.
He needed to be serious. Him and Peggy need to find Y/N-
"Captain!" Steve pulls away, holding a hand up to his lips, facing Peggy, "We're ready for you, if you're not otherwise occupied." Peggy glares at the woman, storming off. Steve follows her, regretting that kiss now.
"Peggy, I--"
"Looks like finding Y/N was not on your mind at all, even a partner wasn't that hard, was it? When we find her dead, I'll be sure to tell her you were occupied with another woman."
"Peggy, that's not-" He heard what she said, "What? No, that's not what you thought it was." Steve shoves his tie back into his uniform. "I don't think anything, Captain, not one thing. Be sure to tell Y/N that, huh? Possibly to her grave."
Steve closed the gape in his mouth, Y/N wouldn't be dead by now.
Howard was going over the shields for Steve, explaining every one he had except the one that caught his eye. Pulling out the letter, he sees the similarity between Y/N's sketch and the shield. "What about this one?" Steve picks it up. "No, no, that's just a prototype." Steve shows it off, "What's it made of?" He asked.
"Vibranium. It's stronger than steel and a third the weight. Steve sees the straps and slides his arm in. "It's completely vibration absorbent." Steve grazed his fingers over the edge, "How come it's not standard issue?" He asked.
"That's the rarest metal on Earth," Howard says, "What you're holding there, that's all we've got."
"You quite finished, Mr. Stark?" Peggy beams in, "I'm sure the Captain has some unfinished business. We're still on the look for Y/N." Steve holds the shield up to him, "What do you think?" He asked.
Peggy thinks for a second before reaching for the guns on the table and takes the handgun. She fires at the shield, Steve immediately hiding behind it as the bullets fall to the ground at his feet. He peaks over the shield. "Yes, I think it works."
Howard walks around the table as they watched her walk off. Steve takes out Y/N's letter and holds it out.
"A friend had some ideas about the uniform."
Howard takes it in his hand, "Whatever you want, pal." Steve looks at him, "After you're done. I want that back." Howard nods. "Sure thing."
1944
See you soon.
"Bucky! Hang on! Grab my hand! No!"
No sign of her. No sign of Bucky. He lost two of his friends. Y/N would be dead by now. He wouldn't give up and not avenge for her and his friend. He would do what is right an continue on with this war. All he could remember of her is the sketch and letter of hers. See you soon, the three words repeated in his head. Another set of three words he would've wanted at the end of those first three.
"You know, it's never too late to think that she's dead."
"It's been a year. One of those days, they could've taken her life already. If Bucky was in pain when I saved him, she's twice in much pain."
Peggy sits down in front of him, "Even if she weren't gone yet, we'll find her. I promised you that a year ago."
"I guess we can just forget it now," Steve says, eyes on his drink on front of him, "Can't really drown in my sorrows cause I can't get drunk, so..."
"You're drowning in them, Steve. But you know this fight still continues. It wasn't your fault."
"For Bucky it wasn't. For hers... definitely."
"You did everything you could for the both of them. For Y/N, she's strong enough to take care of herself. I knew she was just like you. Do you believe in them? Did you respect them? Then stop blaming yourself. Her choices were her own, she made the most risky choice of all. Allow their choices. But don't let her be the reason you're not doing this. She would want you to keep going, whether she's not there or not."
Steve looks down and swallows.
"Steve..." Peggy reaches over and grabbed his hand.
His eyes look up to her.
"Whether she is gone or not... she'll always be there."

2015
.
See you soon.
Steve stared at the monument in front of him. "Major Y/N L/N was Steve Rogers and his candidates commander during their training in 1941. Y/N and Dr. Erskine had chosen Rogers for the Project. When Y/N was 17 years old, she was just like Steve Rogers."
Steve saw a photo of her, the picture was old enough to tell it was when she joined. She was small, short than she was now. Y/N was just a few inches from Steve's height. "After the 10 years of training, she became the first woman Major in the US Army Forces. Joining the Captain's side."
A short clip of Steve and Y/N stood there, the two were discussing some things in his training. Then Bucky came up in the clip with her in it, "Y/N L/N and James Buchanan Barnes were also friends, she helped the 107th in 1943. Helping less than 50 injured men while Steve Rogers went out and saved over 400 men back to camp in Italy, 1943. Y/N was reported dead after being captured by Hydra."
After seeing Bucky being tortured by Hydra and saved him from the river after the helicarriers in Washington crashed down. Steve was left with nothing now. Thoughts were going through his mind. Was Y/N actually dead? How do they know they have proof when they didn't show Steve her body?
Steve didn't want the answer. He didn't want to ask Nick after he woken up 70 years later. Before the ice, Peggy gave him the last thing before he went under the ice.
"She would be proud of you, Steve." And Peggy let him go.
If Y/N was alive and Steve went under ice, she'd be in bed like Peggy was. Maybe she was and he was too late to tell her how he actually felt. He took a last glance at his compass, a picture of Y/N with the letter she wrote folded with his suit sketch she made.
Steve did visit Peggy once. She was diagnosed with dementia. He was patient with her, she even gave him proof that Y/N was indeed not found. Not even her body after the war had ended.
Shield had Zola in their organization, having Hydra agents in the building. Now Natasha released all that information to the world. Steve got information for Bucky, if Y/N was alive and had gone through same thing Bucky went in, she could be out there. They must've burned her files to keep her information from going out.
Steve's assumptions could be correct. But he would have to find her in 7.2 billion people in the world.
It was hard to find Bucky, even when he died in front of Steve. It was just a coincidence he happened to be in the same time as Steve. Natasha has heard about Y/N, even added a smug remark with a smirk.
"We always knew you'd go for the women who are higher ranks than you."
She was right. Steve was a Captain but Y/N was a rank higher as Major. But he didn't go for her because of that. He couldn't explain why he did. It was something that just pulled him in. Was it the smile, kissing her teeth at him in the most flirting or happy way possible? Was it her eyes that just show what she felt, the glistening in her e/c eyes.
Or was it that she understood how it felt to be just like him?
"Nobody, special though?" Nat asked. He chuckled but he stops when Y/N flooded his mind, when she mentioned the kiss, it wasn't Y/N.
"Believe it or not, it's kind of hard to find someone with shared life experience."
Steve would've slapped himself mentally for that reply, Natasha believed Y/N was out there. Natasha would dig up a whole website just to find the person he didn't spend his time with. Someone with shared life experience, someone who he barely met but felt like he knew them from inside and out.
Natasha read about her. During her free time, maybe hack a few things to get some information to get the same files like Bucky's.
"She's an artist?"
Steve flinched at Natasha's voice when she spotted his letter from her, she smiled at him. "She has good hand writing." Steve looks down at the letter and slipped it back into his pocket. "She first sketched the suit. The shield was partially Howard and her idea." He could feel Natasha's eyes and her cheeks pull her lips upward into a smile.
"She has good taste."
Everything he could've imagined wasn't in front of him. He should just tell himself, she's gone and go to bed. But the feeling of her being dead was just keeping him awake. He wanted to go out and find her, to stop those nightmares of seeing her being tortured to death, the words saying that he left her there to die.
"You left me here to die!"
Steve has heard her shouts, but these were the shouts of anger. Betrayal.
He didn't realize his phone has been buzzing for the past minute and he takes it out. Natasha's name popped up.
I found it. Get to the compound
Steve quickly darted out of the monument and to his bike in the lot. He revved his bike and rode off. Going quick, he was aware of police and tried very little to slow down in traffic. He didn't like the way she used the word 'it'. She meant by the file, but she could've said 'her'. He reached the Avengers compound in 10 minutes. He stopped at the entrance and quickly darted to the lab.
Natasha was at the table, a box with files were stacked in. She was holding a piece of paper. "It was hard, you know. Maybe you could return it and get pizza, eh?" She asked. Steve walks over to her, "Where is it?" He asked. Natasha reaches over and hands him a file.
"I was looking through the files and came up to her files. They said she was writing letters and when the war ended Hydra burned what was left of their things and they've collected the things that kind of... survived." Steve lifts up the letters, the similar handwriting. "It's hers. I can tell by her handwriting."
Natasha licks her lips, "One of them is a picture. It's burnt, I can't really see what it looks like but it's got a date." Steve picks up the photo, it was half burnt.
1944
"That was the year after she was taken," Steve says, Natasha shoots up, "So, she was alive." Steve looks up from the photo. "They must've knew we were coming. They took her somewhere else. But it doesn't prove that she's alive now."
"If you look closely at the photo, it looks like there's a hand inside a chamber. They probably put her in one. Like your other friend," Steve pulls the photo up to his face and sees her hand. He wanted to disagree she was alive. It would break him to know she had been tortured without him coming to save her. What would she think if she realized she was held by Hydra all these years?
"She's beautiful. Now I know why you chose her," Natasha smiles up at him when he gives her a warning look. "What's this?" Steve pulls up the paper.
Captain Hydra.
Captain Hydra. Who the hell was Captain Hydra? Was Zola planning on taking Steve to use him for their own Captain? "They might be referring to your friend, Barnes," Natasha says.
"But this is in Y/N's file. Out of the people she knew most was me," He says, "She must've talked to them about me. And they were gonna find me and use me as one of their own men." Natasha glanced at the paper, "Everything there has been erased. I didn't even find it in their computers. Almost like they were planning this all along and kept it from others."
"How do we find her?"
Natasha stared at the papers, "We just keep our eyes and ears open till someone reports something similar to what the Winter Soldiers traits are. Ballistics. Soviet-made."
Who knows how long it would take for them to find out where she was. If they find Bucky, they could use him to find her. But they were both gone. Steve looked at the photos that were burned with her letters. "How long do you think these were burned?"
"Well, could've been recent. Probably in the 70s, everything that was written in there was from a floppy disk so this had to be in the 70s. Information about Y/N's live was probably written by her close friends, either Howard Stark or Margaret Carter."
"They knew her, yeah. So can we find out where these were burned?" Natasha shrugs. "With the right technology, probably, yeah. I mean from what you're coming from, sounds so stupid."
"What I mean is if we find that exact spot where they found these photos, that means Hydra's undercover base is near that area."
This could be it. A way to find Y/N. "Steve..." Natasha says, he looks at her, "What we're doing for her, it's not gonna be easy. She's Hydra now. She won't remember you. For the time being, keep our distance and be aware. Don't overthink about it, if she engages, we could do something we both will regret."
Steve didn't want this plan to go down. If Natasha would have to kill her, he would be upset. He won't allow it.
He nods. "Okay."
Natasha dug through the files more, finding Zola's file. "Looks who's in his file." Steve glanced over to the paper Natasha had held up to him.
"Ulysses Klaue, he was the guy from the ship wreck, remember? The one who was selling that vibranium?" Steve takes the photo in hand, "What was he doing at the Hydra's base?"
"He was only known for the vibranium. They must've used the vibranium to make something strong." Natasha flips the papers over to read the backs. "There's a date and location here. 2012, in Kiev, Ukraine. There's a photo of someone," Natasha looks closely at the blurred picture. Steve takes it into his hand.
A dark figure with red stripes, their curves were shown due to the tight war suit. The symbol of the skull with tentacles coming out on their back. It stood taller than the people around them. "Who's that?" Natasha asked.
Steve didn't want to ask that question. The realization that could be answering their questions now. " We need to go to Ukraine."
"Steve-"
"Once we get there, we'll get her alone and we get her here, keep her-"
"Steve, we can't expect this to go the way we want to. This is Hydra we're talking about, I mean, you've taken them down inn the 40s but did we capture Bucky the time we saw him?" Steve doesn't reply, "No. So, we need to find some way to do this without her being known to Hydra. We have to at least think about this before we find her."
Steve wanted to just run out that door and fly over to Ukraine. Y/N had been gone for too long. He was looking for her back then why shouldn't he now? He nods. "Okay."
Kiev, Ukraine
Natasha and Steve were in the city of Kiev, they found out the coordinates on the photo they found in the files. Natasha stared at her phone as Steve kept his hand on the wheel, slowly driving down the road. "How much further?" Steve sounded impatient, Natasha hadn't spoken if they had made it there or not. "Relax. Just a few more," She says.
Steve sighs as he drew his eyes back to the road. Natasha tensed up a bit, "Stop." Steve pulls into the empty spot on the side of the road, people were still around. Steve looked around the area from the car windows. "This doesn't look like the right spot."
"It says we're just at the spot. Says it's below us," Natasha steps out of the car, she was wearing a brown coat with a scarf around her neck. Steve was wearing a leather jacket with a grey t-shirt and dark jeans. He covered his hair with a dark blue cap and dark shades.
Natasha walks around to Steve's side of the car, standing on the sidewalk. "They knew we were gonna go after her, they took us off the path."
Natasha smiles behind her shades, "When's the last time you've seen secret rooms in such a crowded town, hm?" She asked. Natasha walks into the store just across from them, looking up to the title of the store.
It was a antique store, sighing in the process he walked in with Natasha. The two heard the music play around the room as a woman with dark hair greeted them nicely. Natasha slipped her phone into her pocket and walked over to the wall, Steve followed her. "We don't have time to look at clocks."
Natasha smirks, "Relax, Cap. All you need is a secret password you have to say to the woman there and she'll take us there."
"How do you know that will work? You don't know it."
"Yeah. But you do," Natasha says, Steve looks at her. The shine of her shades shimmered at him and he knew what he had to do.
"Who the hell are you?!"
"The first of many. Cut off one head..." The man uses his tongue to slip his tooth off his gum, he bites into the tooth, "Two more shall take its place..." Steve watched as the man's mouth began to foam. "Hail Hydra..."
Steve turns to the woman who was patiently minding her own business at the shop desk. Steve walks over to the woman, "May I help you?" Her accent was thick. Here we go. Natasha peaked over the shelf as Steve placed his hands on the desk and leaned forward.
"Hail Hydra."
The way the woman tensed up a bit, she reaches under the desk for something. Over the shelf, Natasha went to reach for her gun in her belt. Steve tensed up a bit if this woman had found out who he was under those shades.
She pushed something and Steve pushed himself off the desk as the woman guides him to the back. Natasha releases her gun and follows. The woman took them to the back and she nods to the shelf. "Hail Hydra," Is all she says before leaving them in that room. Natasha watched her leave and pulled out her phone, "I got some kind of energy flowing behind here. A four inch wall on the other side."
"So she tricked us?" Steve asked, Natasha smiled, "If you're hiding a secret Hydra facility..." Natasha reaches for the book and pulls it down, "...you gotta have more steel." The doors open up, they were the four inch steel as it revealed a hallway.
Natasha smiles. "Let's find your girl Major, Captain."
The two began to walk down the dimly lit hallway, stairs leading down further. "Put the phone down, you're gonna get us caught." Natasha shoots a look at him and slips the phone into her pocket. "We're in the danger zone, anything that goes down, we're two against over 50 men. If they find out we're here for her, they'll probably kill her."
"They would have to kill me in order to get to her," Steve says. A Hydra agent began to walk down their way, Steve and Nat kept walking. If this man was to engage, Natasha would have to do the talking.
They released their breath they held once the man had passed them without saying anything. They were now losing signal. Unable to call anyone, if they catch them, no one will ever know they were there.
Steve and Natasha reached the big room. Doctors and agents walking all around the room. No one spotted them come in because everyone was just scattering around. "All right. Now we just find someone who may be the leader in this facility."
Steve looks around, "We can't. If we do, they'll pick us off and take us out. We need to just find her on our own." Nat began to walk down the stairs and took one of the halls, Steve picks up his feet. "Where are you going?"
"Finding your girl, what do you think?"
Someone shouts out in a foreign language causing the two to stop. Steve and Nat turn to the man, who looked like a leader. "Who are you?" He asked in his foreign language, that they both understood.
"We're here for the leader..."
"You're speaking to him. I am Vyslav," He says, Natasha smiled up at Steve, hinting him to keep his mouth shut. Let her do the talking. "We heard about your new project... This. Captain Hydra?" She almost sounded flirtatious, the way the man smiled knew they were gonna get information about this Captain Hydra and plan.
He nods, "Follow me." The man takes them down the hall further and further. Steve was looking at Natasha who just had a smug look that she had just covered them from getting killed by the worst way possible.
They were gonna die there.
The man took them into his office, it was big. He walked over to his desk and sat down. "Sit," He says in English, his accent still thick. Natasha and Steve look at each other before they sat down. "I know who you two are," He says.
Steve looks over to Natasha. The man stands up, "Captain Steve Rogers and Black Widow. You can't fool me. After what you did in Washington, releasing our files into the world, we had to hide more discreetly. You want to know about this project we've had for a long time."
"If you're planning on using me for your project, you'll have it over my dead body," Steve says. The man stares blankly at him before bursting into a fit of laughter. Natasha had enough of his fuss and stood up from her chair and pulled out her gun.
She pointed it at him, the man holds his hand up, "Oh, you don't want to do that, Miss Romanoff. There are two of you, against 100 of my men out there." Natasha looks over to the door on his left before glancing back at him. "We stopped Pierce's plans with just less than 5 people and you think we can't handle a hundred men?" The corner of her lip lifts up. Steve was on his feet as well, holding his hand up.
Vyslav looks at Steve, now. "Captain Hydra is not a plan to use you for one of our own, Rogers." Steve watched the smirk rise on his face. "We already finished the plan. Just like your friend Bucky. She will have her fun on you two."
A loud bang hits the doors behind them and Natasha turns to face the door. A dark figure appears in the door way. Steve's face drops. The soldier was a copy of him, the shape of them was odd but he noticed the shield that was black and red, the symbol of Hydra on their shield.
That's the vibranium. Vyslav takes the advantage to scatter, Natasha points her gun at him and went to fire till the soldier throws their shield and Natasha gets tackled by Steve. Steve watched the shield retract back to its owner.
Steve pants as the cold stare behind their mask. It resembled much of his outfit. "Go!" Steve helps Natasha back up and she darts for the door. Natasha fired at the soldier as Steve rips the door open that Natasha spotted and he grabs Natasha's arm.
The soldier drops their shield and storms towards the door. "Who was that?" Natasha asked, Steve kept pushing her up the stairs. "I don't know-" Steve ducks to the shooting below them. Looking over the railing, he sees the soldier at the bottom of the stairs. The gun aims at him and he moves his head away and the bullet hits the railing. "Go!"
Steve pushed the door open and they met the second floor. "The door to the exit is down this hall!" Natasha says. Steve and Natasha ran down the long hall. The labs beside them, doctors and men saw them and began to pull out their guns.
Steve instantly ducks his head, holding Natasha down as well, glass shattering from the labs as bullets fly. Steve turns his head and spots the soldier at the end of the hall where they came from.
He saw them place their shield onto their back. "Keep going!" Steve pushes Natasha further up. The soldier empties their gun and throws the clip up and snaps it into the bottom of the gun. Slipping into its holster, the soldier runs towards them. Steve looks back at Natasha who was slightly closer to the exit. Looking back to the soldier, they were getting closer.
Steve swats at Natasha, "Go!" Steve falls forward from a large impact from behind and rolls onto the ground. Stumbling back up, he meets the eyes of the soldier. Captain Hydra. They pull out a blade and began to swung. Not this again. Steve swats the soldier's hands away from his face, taking their wrist and twists it. The soldier does a flip to the direction of the twist and releases Steve's grip, whipping around and kicks him back.
Steve stands back up and a gun shot was heard. The soldier comes to a halt and Steve looks over to see Natasha with her arm up. Steve looks back to see the soldier look down at the shocking disc on their chest. Swiftly, Steve swings towards their face and makes a run for it.
"Go!" Steve shouts, he grabs Natasha and they run down the hall again. "Clearly Y/N is not there!" Natasha shouts, Steve helps Natasha duck from the gunfire behind them. "They must have had her in a lab. I saw them!" Steve said. They reach the door to the back of the antique store. Steve comes to a halt when Natasha had to put the code in due to the lock down.
She pulls out her device. Steve looks down the hall, who was that soldier? Captain Hydra.
"Just like your friend Bucky. She will have her fun with you two."
"Captain Hydra is Y/N."
"What?" Natasha asked, she dodges the flying bullets seeing the men get closer. "Y/N is Captain Hydra!--" Natasha got the door open and once they opened, they fly out caused by the loud explosion of a grenade. Steve hits the shelves and Natasha rolls into the store to see the woman quickly reach for her gun.
Natasha was quick enough and shot her before she could shoot her. Steve groans, lfting himself up, he looks down the hall again and spots the soldier. He can't leave her here, now. Not after finding her. "Steve!" Nat called. Steve gets up and Natasha pulls him out of the store. "I'll drive!" Nat jumps into the driver's seat and Steve in the passenger.
She steps on the gas and drove off. "We have to go back!" Steve says. "Steve! No! You saw what happened back there, we almost died!" Natasha shouts. "Y/N is Captain Hydra, we need to go back!"
"I said I will help you find her, not catch her. There's a difference," Nat says. She lets out a sigh, "You wanted to know if she was alive. That was proof that she is. We can't do anything about it, Steve. I'm sorry."
The soldier steps over the large wooden planks and shattered antiques as she looked around. No one was found. Her eyes stop to see the shades that belonged to one of the two Avengers. Taking it in hand, she looks at it. "I have a mission for you, Captain Hydra. Find them. And kill them."
Her eyes look up, eyes that could kill anyone. The eyes with the look of death and cold blood. Her gloved hand crushes the shades in her hand before walking out of the store.
Avengers Compound, New York
Steve sat at the table, hand in his hair as Natasha was doing things around in the kitchen. Glancing over her shoulder to see how much stress he was in, she kept her thoughts to herself. The longer she bothered him the more frustrating he gets and starts to shout. Steve wasn't a guy to shout, but to blame himself for leaving someone he wanted to say those three words was just too much for him.
He had it at the end of his fingertips, only to slip back another thousand feet. Her eyes turn concerning when she slightly hears a faint sniffle coming from him. She gazed up and saw him holding a letter. The color of it was dark, it was so old and she guessed it was from Y/N. Not wanting to ask about it like last time, she turns away from him.
"Go to bed, Steve. Gets some rest and we'll think about something tomorrow," Was all she said before leaving him in the kitchen with that light on only in that huge room.
Taking in the handwriting and those three words, he managed to keep the tears at bay. He sat there for a few hours. Thinking what Y/N and him would've done in the 40s. Movies were partially his idea, but the walk and talk were mostly a good idea. Even though they were similar, he still didn't know her from the inside.
Such a strong woman with such deep words and a smile that he could never get bored of. A woman who stood up for him. In return, she got tortured. Steve was too late to save her. He would deserve a complete slap from her. He would allow it.
He knows she’s alive. And he will find her again to bring her back.
“See you soon, Rogers.”

A Dangerous Game - Chapter 4 (Theseus Scamander x OC series)
Prologue, Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3
Summary: When Victoire McKinnon, one of the wizarding world's most proficient Curse-Breakers, is asked to assist and protect the Ministry of Magic's Auror Department in their crusade against Grindelwald, she finds herself stuck working with the extremely annoying, exceptionally good looking Theseus Scamander.
Warnings: swearing, violence, fighting, death, 2,823 words
..........
On Friday afternoon Victoire and Theseus had turned in their mission proposal to Travers and the rest of the Head Aurors. They had said it would take the weekend to review the plan and get back to them on Monday. To say Victoire was anxious about it was an understatement.
The plan was to, under Victoire’s leadership, return to the house on Chester Street, cast Homenum Revelio, and see if the presences of the three missing Aurors were still in the house. If they were, both her and Theseus would use the Summoning Charm to bring them back from nonbeing.
Victoire had included countless pages of research to show the credibility of their proposition. Theseus had spent all of Friday reassuring her that their plan would undoubtedly receive approval, but Victoire wasn’t so sure. It was definitely risky, and save for one case in 1763, there was no proof of such a plan actually working.
Victoire had tried to put all her stress in the back of her mind for the time being. It was Saturday afternoon, and in a few minutes she would be apparating to her parent’s home for the weekly McKinnon family dinner.
It had been many years since Victoire and her siblings had moved out of the house, but they all still looked forward to seeing each other face-to-face once a week.
Victoire looked in the mirror one more time, tousling her hair to give it more volume. She was wearing a dark grey shirt with chestnut colored trousers, something she hoped looked sophisticated enough to please her brother’s posh French girlfriend.
Thomas, who was a professional Quidditch player now, had been dating this girl named Juliette for a few weeks. She’d been to the last few family dinners and each time she’d criticized something about Victoire’s outfit. Naturally, Victoire was pissed and had finally decided to show up in something other than loungewear to put a stop to Juliette’s derogatory comments.
She walked out of her bathroom, slipping on a pair of black flats before calling Short-Snout from the kitchen. The light brown owl swooped in, perching on her shoulder before she grabbed her wand, slipping it in her back pocket, and apparated away.
Augustine Manor had been the McKinnon family home since it was built in the 1500s. Augustus McKinnon had built the rather impressive house on Dalkey Island, which was bewitched heavily to ensure muggles left the island alone.
Victoire landed in the middle of the living room, immediately taking in the smell of freshly baked bread and herbs wafting in from the kitchen. Short-Snout quickly flew off, probably in search of something to eat.
“Glad you finally showed up,” came a deep voice from behind her. She turned around, grinning at the sight of her eldest brother, Emrys.
“Sod off,” she joshed, walking over to hug him tightly. “I’m right on time.”
“I’m a little offended you’ve been working at the Ministry for a week now and still haven’t found time to visit me,” he chided. Victoire rolled her eyes.
“Seeing you once a week is more than enough,” she said sarcastically, “and I do believe the Department of Mysteries has too much security for me to break into.” Emrys chuckled.
“I’m sure if anyone could find a way in, it would be you,” he replied. Victoire laughed, pulling away and squinting at the navy suit her brother was wearing.
“You’re looking quite formal,” she noted.
“As are you,” Emrys shot back, gesturing to her outfit.
“I’m just trying to make sure Juliette doesn’t make a snarky comment about how casual my outfit looks,” Victoire said honestly, throwing her hands up in defense.
“Well then, you’ve managed to sum up my reasoning for dressing up tonight, as well,” he replied. Victoire grinned.
“And maybe mum will be so distracted by how good we look, she won’t talk about how Thomas is the only one of us in a real relationship,” Emrys added, walking past her and heading into the kitchen.
Victoire laughed and followed him, grinning at the sight of her aunt Maeve swatting her father with a newspaper.
“What did dad do, now?” Victoire asked, leaning against the doorframe.
“Victoire!” her aunt exclaimed, throwing the newspaper down on the island and rushing over to give her a hug.
“Hi, Aunt Maeve,” Victoire said, wrapping her arms around the older woman.
“Oh, you look so lovely,” Maeve gushed, pulling away and looking over her shoulder. “Adelis, look how lovely Victoire looks.”
Victoire’s mother looked up from the pot on the stove, a warm smile on her face.
“She does look quite beautiful, though I’m sure that’s a result of Juliette’s comments last week rather than her own accord,” she said with a wink. Victoire grinned and nodded, while Maeve rolled her eyes at the mention of Thomas’s girlfriend.
“I swear, if Thomas doesn’t break up with that entitled woman soon I’m going to go insane,” Maeve muttered under her breath. Victoire and Emrys stifled laughs while their mother hushed her sister-in-law.
“Maeve, they could apparate into this house any moment now, do keep your opinions to yourself,” Adelis scolded, turning back to the stew she was stirring.
“Oh, we know they’re gonna be fashionably late,” Emrys said sarcastically. “Might as well make fun of them before they’re here.”
Victoire laughed and walked over to the island, sitting down across from her father.
“And how are you doing, dad?” she asked, watching as he dramatically rubbed his forearm.
“Other than your aunt beating me up just now, I’m doing just fine,” he grinned.
“Kean, if you quit insulting me all the damn time I wouldn’t have a reason to beat you up,” Maeve replied, pouring herself a glass of wine. “All the newspaper onslaughts you endure you’ve brought upon yourself.”
Victoire laughed as she watched her father and aunt bicker relentlessly, her brother throwing on an apron over his suit to help their mum cook. For the first time in a week, she was completely distracted from the stresses of her job.
~~~~~
On Monday morning, Victoire walked into Theseus’s office five minutes late, two coffees in hand.
“Hey, I’m-”
“You’re late,” Theseus said coldly, cutting her off. Victoire frowned at him as she closed the door, a little startled by his tone.
“I, uh, got you coffee,” she mumbled, holding up the coffee cups she was carrying awkwardly. She could’ve sworn she saw his eyes soften a little before his expression hardened once more.
“Travers approved our proposal,” he said bluntly, gesturing to the manila folder on her desk.
“Oh,” she said, setting both coffee cups down. “That’s good, right?” she added, looking up at Theseus with a small smile. His gaze was fixed on a piece of parchment lying on his desk.
“Obviously,” he said. Victoire looked at him in confusion.
“Are you alright?” she asked softly. He nodded curtly, though she was unconvinced.
“They made a few changes to the plan, but the bulk of it is the exact same,” Theseus added.
Victoire flipped the folder open and began reading over the file, brows furrowing as she saw that Theseus would be leading the team of Aurors, not her.
“I thought we agreed it would be best for me to lead the rescue team,” Victoire said, looking up at him.
“Travers thinks otherwise,” Theseus said dryly, eyes fixed on the paper in front of him.
“You said it would be safer if-” Victoire started, but Theseus cut her off once again.
“Do you really want to go argue with Travers?” Theseus asked cooly, looking up at her. Victoire bit her lip nervously at the stern expression on his face.
“No,” she muttered, “but-”
“Come on, McKinnon, did you really think they were just going to let a Curse-Breaker lead a Ministry mission?” Theseus asked sarcastically.
His words stung, and Victoire felt her eyes tear up at his rather mean comment. She cursed herself internally for being so damn emotional and focused her gaze down at the folder, refusing to let Theseus see how he was affecting her.
She read over the file quickly, noting that Theseus’s leadership over the mission was the only thing Travers changed. She smiled slightly at that, proud her research had done its job.
“Should I go summon the rescue team, or are you still reading?” Theseus asked. Victoire flinched a little at his cold tone.
“No, I’m done,” she murmured, flipping the folder closed. Theseus nodded and walked out the door quickly.
Victoire exhaled shakily, a little shocked by his sudden hostility towards her. A week ago, she would’ve been less surprised by this behavior; she’d been on her guard around him in the beginning, not wanting to reveal anything about herself that he could make fun of. By Friday, however, they’d been joking around with each other and exchanging stories about themselves.
She felt stupid for opening up to him, for talking to him about Gringotts, about her family. She’d even written to her friend Anthea about how their contentious relationship had eased into something more friendly. Clearly, she’d been mistaken.
“Miss McKinnon?” came a small voice. Victoire looked up at a young man standing in the doorway.
“Yes?” she asked, standing up from her seat.
“Mister Scamander says we’re ready to leave,” he said nervously. “Just waiting on you, uh, whenever you’re ready, of course.”
She forced a smile and nodded, closing the folder on her desk and picking it up.
“Thank you very much, you can tell him I’ll be right there,” she replied.
She sighed as the Auror left the room. If Theseus wanted to be an asshole, so be it. She wouldn’t let his attitude distract her from the three lives that hung in the balance.
~~~~~
By the time they’d reviewed the game plan and apparated to the street outside 16 Chester Street, it was around two in the afternoon. It was overcast and rather windy, precursors to the rather large thunderstorm set to reach London that night.
Victoire could not help but feel like something was off. The seemingly empty street did not feel so empty, and she could not help but wonder if someone was watching them.
“I feel like we aren’t alone,” she muttered to Theseus, who was standing next to her. He rather obviously rolled his eyes.
“You and your spectacular Curse-Breaker intuition,” Theseus said sarcastically. He’d been bullying her relentlessly all day, and Victoire was honestly starting to feel rather dejected. She had no idea what she’d done to warrant this behavior from him, but she was also too afraid to ask.
“Should we just abandon the mission then? On account of your paranoia,” Theseus added. She shook her head, knowing her voice would come out shaky if she tried to speak. The last thing she wanted was to appear vulnerable.
“Let’s head in!” Theseus called, waving to the four Aurors standing behind them. Victoire quickly followed him up the walkway, not wanting to be the last one in the house.
When they reached the living room, Theseus began to order the rest of the team around, positioning them so one Aurors was standing in the doorway and the rest were lined up by the wall. Those three were tasked with apparating the missing Aurors back to the Ministry after they were un-vanished, practically speaking.
Theseus gestured to Victoire and leaned back against the wall.
“Go for it, Curse-Breaker.”
She gulped and nodded, grabbing her wand from her pocket and pointing it at the spot on the floor where the cursed vase had been,
“Homenum Revelio,” she spoke clearly, grinning as the translucent silhouettes of three people appeared on the floor.
She jumped as thunder boomed around them, heart pounding in her chest. Something was definitely wrong, the storm wasn’t supposed to be here for hours and the thunder sounded like it was right overhead.
“The Curse-Breaker’s afraid of thunder,” one of the Aurors mocked, but Theseus held up his finger to silence them. It seemed he too was concerned by the anomalous weather.
He slowly reached for his wand, looking at Victoire and nodding for her to keep going.
“Accio Pembroke Mallow,” Victoire said shakily, casting a Summoning Charm in the direction of the three silhouettes. She gasped as a man with dark colored hair appeared out of thin air, stumbling forward and falling to the ground.
Theseus gestured to the first Aurors, who quickly stepped forward and apparated away.
Suddenly, a loud boom echoed throughout the house. Victoire spun around, watching as the front door of the house flew through the hallway, crashing into the stairwell and breaking in two. The Auror at the doorway drew his wand, but it was too late.
“Avada Kedavra,” came a gravely voice, and in a flash of green light, the Auror had crumpled to the ground in a heap, dead.
With a flick of his wand, Theseus launched a chair across the room and into a tall man in a black trench coat. The man fell to the ground with a shout, several other similarly dressed people rushing into the room from behind him.
“Keep going!” Theseus shouted to Victoire, rushing forward with the other two Aurors to deflect the intruders’ spells.
“Accio Roger Grouse!” Victoire shouted, rushing to duck behind an already toppled desk as one of the attackers began to launch Killing Curses in her direction.
As a blonde bearded man appeared in the middle of the room, one of the Aurors rushed forward and grabbed him, quickly vanishing from sight.
Victoire looked over the desk warily, watching Theseus and the other remaining Auror hurl curses at their assailants. Spells of every color were whizzing through the air in both directions.
“Accio Louis Sullivan!” Victoire cried, jabbing her wand towards the middle of the room once more.
The remaining Auror launched himself backwards, grabbing onto the final man as he stumbled into existence and apparating away.
“Alarte Ascendare,” Victoire muttered, launching one of the attackers up into the ceiling, grinning as he fell face first onto the ground.
She jumped out from behind the desk, stunning two wizards who had begun to rush towards Theseus. He’d jumped behind another toppled piece of furniture, casting spells over the top of it while trying not to get himself killed.
“Descendo,” Victoire shouted, pointing her wand at the chandelier in the hallway and watching as it fell onto two wizards.
“Victoire!” Theseus called, using his wand to pull her towards him as a flash of green whizzed past her head.
Victoire ducked behind the couch Theseus had been using as cover. She poked her head out cautiously, launching a Stunning Spell at a wizard hiding behind the door frame. He fell to the ground with a loud thud, but his place was quickly filled by someone equally as intimidating, and equally as determined to kill them.
“How many of them are there?” Victoire asked.
“Too many,” Theseus replied through gritted teeth, jabbing his wand in the direction of the doorway. Victoire winced as she heard a loud explosion.
“We have to apparatus back to the Ministry, they won’t be able to follow us,” she shouted, grabbing a chipped mug from behind her and hurled it over the top of the couch. It collided with the head of a dark haired woman, who slumped backwards against the wall.
“We can’t just let these people go,” Theseus retorted, repeatedly jabbing his wand in the same direction until she heard a satisfying thud.
“They’re going to kill us if we don’t leave, Theseus,” she exclaimed. Theseus looked at her with wide eyes.
“Everte Statum!” she yelled, throwing one of their attackers backwards into the staircase. “Why in the name of Merlin are you staring at me like that?” she shouted, hitting him on the shoulder.
“That’s the first time you’ve said my first name,” he muttered, mirroring your last attack and sending a hooded wizard flying backwards.
“Oh, fuck you,” Victoire seethed. “You don’t get to treat me like shit all day and then get sappy when I say your fucking name.”
She jumped up, stepping out from behind the couch and hurling Stunning Spells at the remaining wizards.
“Kill the girl!” someone bellowed. “We need to kill the girl!”
“Fucking try!” Victoire shouted back, dodging a Killing Curse as she lunged towards the entrance of the room.
“Flipendo Tria,” she muttered, sending three wizards spiraling through the air.
“Stupefy, Stupefy, Stupefy,” she chanted, watching as each one fell to the ground. She whipped around, easily deflecting the spells of the last attacker.
“Who the fuck are you?” he hissed. “Incendio!”
“Protego!” Victoire shouted, the bright orange spell fizzling into nothing against her invisible shield.
“Stupefy,” Theseus muttered from behind her, the man toppling backwards as he lost consciousness.
Victoire turned to Theseus, panting heavily as he scanned the room for any more intruders.
“I think we got them all,” he muttered.
“I fucking told you,” Victoire seethed, glaring at him. “I told you we were being watched, and you fucking ignored me.”
“I’m sorry-”
“You don’t get to fucking apologize!” Victoire shouted. “My whole job relies on me having solid intuition and you didn’t even listen when I said something was wrong!”
“I didn’t think we had any reason to worry!” Theseus shouted back.
“Clearly we fucking did,” Victoire yelled, gesturing wildly at the unconscious bodies around them.
“I’m-”
“I know you think I’m an idiot, but your stupid grudge against Curse-Breakers almost got us killed,” Victoire said, laughing incredulously. “I almost just died because the idiot I got assigned to work with doesn’t want to listen to me.”
“I don’t have a grudge against Curse-Breakers!” Theseus shouted in defense.
“Oh, so it’s a grudge against just me, then?” Victoire asked. “Fantastic.”
“No!” Theseus shouted, rubbing his temples in frustration.
“Well then what the fuck is it, Theseus?” she questioned, saying his name with just as much malice as she could muster.
“It was Travers,” he muttered. Victoire tilted her head in confusion.
“Elaborate, please.”
“He’s the one with the aversion to Curse-Breakers, you know that,” he said. “He told me I had to stop being so cordial with you.” Victoire laughed again.
“You seriously let Torquil Travers tell you how to behave?” she asked incredulously.
“He’s my boss!” Theseus shouted.
“Ok, and?” Victoire asked. “My boss is a fucking Goblin, if I let him dictate my manners I’d become a hoarder.” Theseus sighed.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured.
“Oh, shut up. You made me feel like shit, all day,” Victoire scoffed.
“I didn’t mean to,” he said softly, watching with concern as she accidentally knocked her shoulder against the wall behind her, wincing in pain.
“Are you alright?” he asked, walking towards her.
“I’m fine,” Victoire muttered.
“You sure?” he asked. She paused, looking down at her shoulder and sighing softly. She shook her head.
“No, no I’m not fine,” she admitted. “I think someone hit me when they first entered the room.”
Theseus nodded, continuing to walk towards her until he was standing right in front of her, effectively trapping her between himself and the wall. Victoire bit her lip, captivated by the delicate intimacy of the moment. Theseus brought his hand to the sleeve of her shirt and looked at her gently.
“May I?” he murmured. Victoire nodded quickly. He tugged her sleeve down, revealing a dark purple bruise covering her shoulder. Victoire hissed as he grazed the injury with his thumb.
“That hurts,” she whined.
“Sorry,” Theseus said softly, his gaze fixed on her shoulder. He gripped his wand with his spare hand and brought it up to the bruise, muttering ‘Episkey’ under his breath. Victoire watched as the bruise steadily faded, the skin on her shoulder returning to its typical tan color.
“Uh, thanks,” she muttered breathlessly, looking up into Theseus’s grey blue eyes. He looked down at her and bit his lip, eyes flickering down to her mouth momentarily before coughing and pulling away abruptly.
“We should be getting back to the Ministry,” he said, face flushing pink.
Victoire nodded slowly, pushing herself off the wall.
“What about all these people?” she asked, pointing to one of the unconscious wizards on the ground.
“Travers will send someone back to bring them all to Azkaban,” he replied, reaching his hand out to her. Victoire looked at his hand, then back up at him.
“For apparating,” he clarified, sensing her confusion. Now it was Victoire’s turn to blush.
“Oh,” she said, “yes, of course.” She grabbed his hand loosely, praying he wouldn’t notice how clammy her palms were as they apparated back to the Ministry.

A/N: I took several creative liberties with how spells work, so don't accept all this stuff as canon in the HP universe. Who knows if this is actually how someone would go about un-vanishing another person. This is now the THIRD Theseus Thursday (that's three "th"s, #alliteration). Hope y'all enjoy, remember to leave a like or comment or something, and ask me if you wanna be tagged in future parts. :D

Have you seen the S7 trailer that dropped? I would love all your thoughts and speculation. You’re always so smart and intuitive.
Aw, thank you, nonnie! That’s so sweet of you to say! I have seen the trailer, and there are a few things that really stood out to me.
First, I really loved the trailer, overall. As with many Flash trailers of the past, it looks fantastic (and I’m also aware of this, so as with all things, I try to adopt a measured perspective, despite the fact that I think it looks really amazing). Technically the trailer was leaked though, so I’ll bullet-point my thoughts now, and then I’ll hopefully go more in depth tomorrow.
Candice is going to play four versions of Iris in what was 6x20 and what is now the season 7 premiere. She’s playing our Iris, but also Iris from the pilot (and she looks the exact same, because she literally does not age), 2049 Iris, and Iris in the timeline in which Savitar killed her. This is going to be a personal mind-scape that Iris has to navigate and will likely parallel Barry’s Bloodwork-induced hallucinations in 6x07. Finally, we’ll get to see Candice play opposite herself, and I’m excited to see her range as an actress on full display. So, we’ll see Iris fight through the metal torment, but I expect it to be an incredibly emotional, traumatic, and physically and psychologically taxing ordeal.
I do think Iris is going to develop Mirror-related abilities from her time in the Mirror, but particularly from her ordeal in 6x20. This will allow her to fight Eva on an equal playing field, if you will. I still suspect that she will redeem Eva by the end, though.
Idk about this artificial speedforce thing that’s still going on, but Barry is in tears at some point in this episode, so that naturally hurts. I wonder if it’s related to Barry and Cisco trying to get Iris and the others out of the mirror. Barry seeing Iris’s video message, mayhap?
Speaking of which, there was very minimal Cisco in this trailer, and by contrast there was a lot of Chester and Allegra, so I suspect that 6x20 gives the newbies time to shine (Chester, in terms of working on the artificial speedforce, and Allegra, in terms of being out in the field/using her powers in some way to help permeate through the mirror). I also think Chester will be working on the artificial speedforce, hence why we saw a lot of him, but Cisco’s story will mostly be tied to helping Barry rescue Iris, Kamilla, and Singh, which the trailer was very careful not to tease. Which is why we only had one brief clip of Cisco (and I don’t even know if that clip was from a past episode).
A little disappointingly, the guest actor from previous seasons is not Vanessa Williams as Francine West, as I’d hoped, but the actress who plays Top. Idc about that Top/Cecile story-line, quite frankly.
There’s so much potential for Iris’s arc within that mindscape, especially in terms of dealing with her trauma of the past and the present. Her residual trauma from a timeline where she was murdered. Her trauma from losing her child. I would hope that this arc very much focuses on this, by showcasing Iris interacting with so many other versions of herself.
So yeah, these are my initial thoughts on the trailer.
