Things I achieved today:
Wrote 203 words on "15 Minutes" chapter 11! Yeah, I'm absolutely celebrating those 203 little words because they're 203 words I was beginning to be afraid were never going to show up. 😬🤗
I think I figured out a way where I can go ahead and pre-order the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster! This is also HUGE because I really, really want this thing but thought I couldn't try it because of my concerns about how Georgette will be able to handle the Denuvo Anti-Cheat. However, I realized I do have a way to test that without paying full price for the game: Dead Rising 4 (which I own already) still has Denuvo on it. So... I'm going to do a full backup for Georgette, pray super duper hard, then install and see if I can play DR4. Don't have to play the whole game or anything, of course, but I figure a couple of hours of play should give me all the info I need. If Georgette handles that okay, then I'd say that's the green light for DRDR! It has soooooo many awesome things in it, friends, and I've been dying on the inside at not being able to play it when it becomes available! (If Georgette returns to dying every 10 seconds, then I'll cry quite hard for a while but at least I'll know.)
Frank stared wistfully into the survivor rooms in the original DR, wishing he had a friend. No, neigh, longing to have a friend! 🐎
Cheryl is apparently doing *jazz hands* back at Frank. I'm not quite sure what that means... 🤔😂😉
Here's what she was seeing, though...
I mean, who WOULDN'T want to be Frank's friend, right?
Right???
Ahem.
Anyway! That was plenty for one day, lol! Hope you're doing well, friends, and having a nice weekend! Love to you all! 🤗💖
#aislynn's exciting weekend so far#dead rising#frank west#writing#ais is writing#*fingers crossed*#georgette#is cool with#denuvo anti-cheat#because that will absolutely make so much of the pain i went through with her a little more worth it#if she can just let me play the#dead rising deluxe remaster#i'm also considering trying for the#7 day survivor#achievement but that's a frickin' 14 hour real time commitment#it's all that's keeping me from 100% the original game though and i just thought it would be cool to get it#we'll see how that goes though#i might try that first before testing out dr4 and denuvo#i dunno#we'll see#ageless aislynn

From the Giorgio Armani collection, the suit is softened in a new way. B! G! L! R! V!
from here
I’m v flattered that you’re interested in all these things bxbnxjxjmx I got verbose (shocker 🙄) so answers under the cut
B: What was the first fandom you read fic in? Which was the first you wrote fic for?
I definitely found buffy fic online as a teen! But I didn’t start reading fic consistently until 1D (I know), which is also the first fandom I wrote for (I know)
G: If you wrote a sequel to [insert fic], what would it be about?
hmmm since you didn’t give me a fic, I’ll say that I have considered writing a version of canine teeth in the side of my neck from Charles’s pov, since I have ideas for what’s going on in his weird little brain. also I would write the further kinky adventures of Charles & Max from no such friend
L: Which of your fanfics was the most emotionally challenging to write?
I’m gonna cheat and say a three-way tie between you don’t have to know that it’s haunted, i can feel the sun on you, and would have loved you (in a day or two) — each of those fics is deeply personal to me in a way that made me agonize over details more than I usually do
R: Which writers (fanfic or otherwise) do you consider the biggest influence on you and your writing?
generally: Jia Tolentino, Cheryl Strayed, Hanif Abdurraqib, Frank O’Hara, Edna St Vincent Millay
fiction influences, for good or ill: Marisa de los Santos, Robin McKinley, JK Rowling, Orson Scott Card, JRR Tolkien, Becky Chambers, Sally Watson, Joss Whedon, Virginia Woolf, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Georgette Heyer, Jane Austen
(Forever disclaimer that I don’t give JKR or OSC or Whedon my money and I don’t think you should either)
Fic: I would remiss not to mention gyzym, fic author of all time, or seefin, who orphaned their fics for moral anti-jkr reasons but whose fic Wild is the first fic I ever publicly bookmarked on ao3 and I think is a high point of transformational work. But I want to say that having @oscarpiastriwdc read my work, and reading theirs, has made me so much better at structure and dialogue, and helped me be much more disciplined in the way I write
V: Are there certain comments you’ve received on your stories that have stuck with you?
So many!!! Every comment means the world to me, and I always love comments that point out specific lines or mention reactions they had <33 if you’ve ever left me a long comment it’s screenshotted in my phone lollll
I will say that every commenter on “i can feel the sun on you” that said they wanted to go to Buenos Aires bc of the fic made me want to weep with joy, as did the Argentine commenters who said I captured the city 😭
also shout out to the one person who pointed out that I just removed Carlos from the grid and didn’t mention it in “canine teeth in the side of my neck,” you’re a real one hxjxjjxkkx

My husqvarna Viking has the anxiety of a racehorse (tension issues like the rest of her breed) but does some lovely work and can be very speedy. I have great luck with vintage industrial machines (have used two different one and love their gumption, sturdy draft horses with a lot of speed) and every machine in the theatre costume shop I work at has a different personality. My faves are Elizabeth (a Morgan like horse, durable and dependable, but oddly scary to just a select couple of people, does amazing work and is accessible!!!), Thomas (sounds like a train, but boy howdy is a really useful engine. Really all purpose equine, does everything from Georgette to jute!), and Cheryl (technically identical to my frenemy Trixxie, but unstoppable. Takes on multiple thick layers at a time with no question. Occasionally gets pissy if used for too much dainty stuff or if she senses you’ve started favoring another machine. She needs a firm hand and a fearless approach, but she’s oddly gentle with a complete newbie. No patience for the cocky though).
to be honest I think working on a sewing machine strains my eyes as much as being on a computer does. However, I am incentivized to remain alert and focused by keeping my fingers within stabbing distance of a needle making 60 stitches per minutes.

Kills Birds share new single ‘Cough Up Cherries’
LA-based incendiary rock band Kills Birds are sharing their introspective and impassioned new single ‘Cough Up Cherries,’ the third offering from their upcoming, sophomore album Married, out via their new label home Royal Mountain Records and KRO Records on November 12.
Vocalist Nina Ljeti explains ‘Cough Up Cherries’ and says, "There are a lot of themes to Cherries, as it was written during the height of the pandemic in 2020. The song touches on feelings of loneliness, paranoia, and hopelessness that we all experienced. In addition, Cherries also addresses the identity crisis we all face in the digital age. What our performative personas are vs. who we really are when we’re left alone, and if in the midst of great injustice, we are actually able to hold our own selves accountable."
Guitarist Jacob Loeb adds, "This song's instrumentation reflects some of the layers of confusion and chaos that were felt by so many at the height of the pandemic. It’s music that we found at the apex of isolation and outrage. This song has a deeply ominous kick drum heartbeat that drives through the unnervingly twisted and interwoven guitar and bass parts that crescendo to a chorus that feels like an authentic expression of our collective rage at that height of that chaotic time. Bosh Rothman, who drummed on the record, brought some serious fire to the drum fills that close out the song."

okay @fredheads asked, so here’s my reasoning for the names I mostly invented for the second batch of archie parents. specifically, these were the main girls’(ethel, nancy, midge, cheryl) parents.
Ophelia Grant: Ophelia is the name of a similar character to ethel that appeared a bit before ethel, essentially a prototype of her. Grant is a reference to the mostly phased out nickname, “Big Ethel”; Grant means tall or large.
Darren Muggs: Darren is also a reference to the nickname, “Big Ethel”; Darren means “great”. Muggs is Ethel’s already existing surname.
Georgette Harris: Georgette was a placeholder name but I liked it so I kept it. Harris was one of the last names given to Nancy before Woods became her official last name.
Walter Woods: Walter starts with W, like Woods, and I wanted to continue the comic book tradition of alliterative names.
Daisy Davis: Daisy is a nickname for Margaret, which Midge is also a nickname for. Davis was chosen for the alliteration like Walter was.
Michael Klump: Michael starts with an M like Midge. Also, mostly unrelated, but I have two made up siblings for Midge that I headcanon named Doris and Michael Jr and that’s where the name Michael for someone in Midge’s family originated.
Penelope Popper: Penelope is canon! Obligatory “Read Cheryl Blossom(1997)” reference, as that’s where she is first named, I believe. Popper is a homonym for pauper which I thought was funny because Penelope is actually very wealthy. Also, it’s alliterative.
Clifford Blossom: This name is fully canon! No invention required!
i’ll probably write up my Thoughts on each of these parents (e.g. hobbies, their personality, where they grew up, etc.) and post that later. There’s not a lot of canon for these so they’re mostly based on their kids and extrapolating from that what I think their parents would be based on their characterization. And, just like, the vibes I get from my general thoughts on their backgrounds.

full name: Persephone Ophelia Greengrass
nicknames: Close family have called her Seph in the past but she prefers just Persephone
nationality: English
mbti: ENTJ-A, The Commander
zodiac: Leo
schooling (and house, if applicable): Hogwarts and Slytherin, as if there was ever any doubt
wand: 12¾ Rosewood and phoenix feather
special skills: Persephone has quite the green thumb, able to get almost any plant to thrive. Quite the gifted potioneer. She also has quite and knack for performing hexes and curses.
boggart: She is small and weak and incapable and it is her father standing over her with his cruel words and hurting hands.
mirror of erised: It’s herself, powerful and admired and fearing nothing and she is in love with someone who loves her back the way she deserves.
amortentia: Pomegranates and the smell of expensive cologne, a tantalizingly sweet vintage wine that brings with it an appealing rush, the cloying scent of the gardens, the smell of smoke, and the soft embrace of cinnamon and brown sugar.
top three qualities important to them: Intelligence, both in herself and other people. Make no mistake, Persephone wants to be the smartest person in a room, wants to know that she is ten steps ahead of the others, but she never wants to deal with stupid, ignorant people. Beauty. While she does appreciate the pretty things in the world around her, and she certainly surrounds herself with beautiful people, Persephone mostly values this in herself. She is content in the knowledge that to be beautiful and smart is a truly deadly combination. Admiration, mostly in others. She doesn’t want any wishy-washy maybe affection. She wants all of it, or she wants none. There is no in-between.
worst thing about them: My god, her vanity. Believe me when I say absolutely nobody loves Persephone more than she loves herself. She holds herself on a pedestal, is unlikely to admit any mistakes she’s made. And she holds others to the same caliber she believes herself to be at and is, inevitably, disappointed when everyone falls short of her expectations.
first impressions: The toss of red hair over her shoulder and a saccharine smile with lips perfectly lined with red lipstick. The click of heels as she walks away and the lingering scent of pomegranates and cinnamon and roses in the air. The expanse of her neck as she tilts her head batting her eyes at you and offering a coquettish smile. Foul words that most ladies won’t use but when she says them it’s jarring and unexpected and strangely intriguing. A laugh slipping past her lips, unbridled, too much personality to ever be contained in such a small body.
aesthetics: Blood red lipstick, roses with razor-sharp thorns, pomegranate seeds inside a delicate crystal bowl, perfectly manicured nails, nimble fingers with a lit cigarette draped between them, expensive dresses and even more expensive lingerie, multiple rings dotting her fingers, a ruby pendant resting in the hollow of her throat, a wine glass filled to the brim being balanced delicately on the edge of a clawfoot tub filled with too-hot water and rose petals
character parallels: Georgette, Oliver and Company; Roxie Hart, Chicago, Brooke Maddox, Scream; Cheryl Blossom, Riverdale; Lucifer, Supernatural; Chris Hargensen, Carrie, Selina Kyle, DC Comics; Nogitsune, Teen Wolf; Negan, The Walking Dead; Bela Talbot, Supernatural; Spike, Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Amy Dunne, Gone Girl

Sculpting in clay during the art class in Cheryls first ear, what a great job she has accomplished. Cheryl has enjoyed moulding the eyes, nose and the mouth but found the ear far more rewarding as she said it made sence. Copying a silicone ear one is able to follow the line and levels which is what sculpting is all about.

Thompson On...Interview with National Known Writer, Editor and Blogger Cheryl Holloway!
Julius Thompson Question/Answer Interview!
Julius, I would like to thank you for having me in your newsletter
JT: Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Cheryl: First and foremost, I am a writer and I firmly believe, ‘writers write.’ I have been writing for many years, now. My writing varies from articles, informational pieces, poetry, books, short stories and magazine articles. You name it and I can write it. I have put a great deal of time in learning my craft over the years. As a result, I am exceedingly passionate about writing. I write in several genres, but mostly romance. I have been told that I am an avid reader, dedicated writer and amazing blogger, who is passionate about writing.
JT : As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Cheryl: As a child, I wanted to be a teacher and a writer. I am proud to say that I accomplished it and have been both in my long career.
JT: What inspired you to become a writer, editor and blogger?
Cheryl: I think I was born a writer, because I’ve been writing since I was a small child. I have always wanted to write stories. I began reading books when I was three years old and my mother bought me Golden Books once a week. I wanted more books, so I began writing my own little stories to entertain myself and eventually, my brother. Later in my career, I became an editor and enjoyed helping other writers perfect their work. Then, it all lead to my blog, which is my passion for paying it forward!
JT : When did you first consider your profession?:
Cheryl: When I was in college, I decided that I would not take a job unless it involved some form of writing. So, that is how I became an editor through training and a desire to learn more about my craft. I had an internet radio talk show, which later evolved into my blog.
JT : Do you work at your craft full-time?:
Cheryl : Yes, I do. I write all day, every day—mostly I am writing my books and my blog. I just write everyday with no particular word count. I usually write 4+ hours (more like 8+ hours) every single day. You do what you love. ☺
JT. Do you write from imagination, personal experience, or a mixture?
Cheryl: A mixture. I generally take a personal experience—mine or a friend’s—and elaborate with imagination to create an entertaining fictional story.
JT . Do you have a current ‘work in progress’? Can you tell us anything about it?
Cheryl: Yes, I have several projects in the making. I’m currently working on a two-book series. I am writing the story from a male point of view, something new for me. It is entitled Love Makes the Ride Worthwhile (The Love Struggle Series Book 1). The World War II love story is about a woman my father met while serving in the Navy. Then, I am collaborating with two of my writer friends, Georgette Littlejohn and Winona Addison. So, I will be busy writing for some time, especially with several unfinished books. LOL
JT: The theme of your blog is “paying it forward” to give other writers a venue for getting known. Did you have such help when you were starting out? When your first book came out, how did it become well known?
Cheryl: No, in the beginning I did not have a way to get the word out about my book, A Forgotten Negro League Star: A Personal Look at Al Burrows, which was published in Jan 2004, but it is currently out-of-print. So, in 2005, I created Just About Books Internet Radio Talk Show. I gave authors a one-hour interview to discuss their book. The Negro League book wasn’t my first book; however, I needed to promote it locally and nationally, so I decided that a radio show would help me get the word out for myself and other authors. The book became well known by my writing press releases, local and national newspaper articles, and of course, word of mouth. Al Burrows was alive during that time and he promoted the book, as well. I have continued to pay it forward since 2013, by creating my blog, www.CherylHolloway.net/blog . My blog will celebrate its Fifth Anniversary this year. Please visit my blog and subscribe, so you won’t miss great books and wonderful authors.
JT : What advice would you give to unpublished authors?
Cheryl : I have learned one important point about writing and that is writers write…on a regular and continual basis. If you continue to write, eventually you will publish your work. If not, email me for inspiration.
JT: Anything additional you want to share with the readers?:
Cheryl : Yes, a special offer for your Newsletter readers. Please visit the Amazon Link: http://tiny.cc/z3fvsy Order my latest book, A Sisterhood of Women Living Life: A Short Story Collection Book 1, and write an Amazon Review. Then, email me and tell me which short story was your favorite. As a ‘Thank You,’ I will send you a free eBook.
Please feel free to contact me. I love to hear from readers and writers.
Email: [email protected]
JT . Do you have links on Amazon, twitter or any other social media sites where your books are on sale and readers can follow you?

Kills Birds share new single ‘Glisten’
LA-based incendiary rock band Kills Birds are sharing their all-consuming, intense new single ‘Glisten’, the second offering from their upcoming, second album Married, out via their new label home Royal Mountain Records and KRO Records on November 12.
Vocalist Nina Ljeti says of this single, "This song is about loving the wrong people. It was written after I experienced a profound betrayal, at the hands of a person who was unable to take accountability for their actions. The lyrics in the chorus (why don’t you love me) are directed at the person in question. In retrospect, they're also questions I need to ask myself."
Guitarist Jacob Loeb adds, "’Glisten’ was written to kind of feel like water. The chorusing, arpeggiating guitar melodies and the rolling, steadily intensifying rhythm section throughout the verse are meant to kind of create a sensation of floating in a river—like being gently lead by a force of nature that lures you somewhere turbulent and dangerous—the chorus with its angular, sharp and aggressive instrumentation."
