You slowly open your eyes and blink sleepily up at pink hair and honey-colored eyes. Yuuji is leaning over you, smiling his sunshine smile, already making your heart beat faster first thing in the morning.

A slow smile spreads over your face as you reach out to ruffle that soft pink hair.

"Hey, good morning, baby."

Your mind is still too tired to function properly, but getting woken up by your cute boyfriend is always the best way to start a new day. Yuuji laughs happily, probably thinking that your sleepy expression looks cute, and leans down to press a sweet kiss to your cheek.

"Happy birthday, princess! Today is your day! I have so much planned!"

Oh! Finally, your mind catches up, and you laugh too, wrapping your arms around your boyfriend's tall, broad figure to hug him tightly.

"Aww, thank you, baby."

Your heart is racing, happiness flooding your chest as you feel Yuuji's heavy, muscular body snuggle against you, pressing you down on the bed as he hugs you back and his lips find yours in a slow and tender birthday kiss.

He feels so good on top of you, warm and strong, making you feel so safe and loved. His voice is like honey, warm and sweet.

"I love you so much, sweetheart. Do you want to get up now? I made birthday cupcakes for breakfast!"

"Yuuji! You are so sweet! I'm still tired, though…"

Yuuji laughs loudly, and when he lifts his head and looks at you, there is a cheeky sparkle in his eyes. Large, warm hands slowly trail down to your waist,

"Well, I will not let you miss your birthday, though! Know what? I will just carry you!"

And the next moment, those strong hands tighten around you and pull you up and into Yuuji's arms.

He laughs at the loud squeal coming from you as Yuuji gets up from the bed, holding you princess-style. Automatically your hands wrap around his neck, and you snuggle your face against Yuuji's broad chest, marveling at the feel of his firm pecs.

You sigh happily, breathing in his scent, cherry blossom shower gel and powdered sugar. You can already tell that this is going to be the best birthday!

Of course! I actually really enjoyed writing this!

Wally had spent especially long doing his hair on this lovely day. The neighbors were having a cherry blossom picnic, and he figured it was the perfect time to go all out with his hair. 

He had sat down in front of his vanity since 5 am combing his hair and adding glitter and blossoms to the gel. All of the other neighbors had complimented his hair but so far you hadn’t. He was starting to grow sad that you hadn’t noticed his hair. 

As he finished setting up his easel under the tree, he sat down to begin painting. A thin frown sat on his lips, his fingers gripping his paintbrush tightly. He didn’t like pouting over it like this, but you were one of his best friends. As you placed your hands on his back gently he spooked. Quickly jumping and turning around to look at you. His frown easing up a bit at the sight of you. “Hello Neighbor. It’s a pretty day today, isn’t it?” He smiles softly when you nod in agreement. A grin grows on your lips as your gaze moves to his hair. A small look of awe crosses your face before you speak.

“Oh my! Wally, your hair is so beautiful! That must’ve taken forever!”

You turn around him as you fawn over his hair. Although he was just grumpy it melts away into a bashful happiness. He adores your attention and the praise you’re giving him for his hair makes his heart swell.

“Gee…Thank you, Neighbor. I’m really happy you noticed.”

His cheeks grow a bit red as he smiles at you. He places down the apple he was holding as a reference for his drawing before beginning to laugh softly. Now he could really enjoy the picnic with his beloved neighbors.

Anything less and they just feel as if their wires are crossed or they're reading the signs the other gives off entirely wrong. Kisses in the aftermath of a fight that could have gone very badly; all tongue and teeth and hands clutching tight to clothes and shoulders so the other cannot get away. Chasing the other through the streets or rolling down a hill like children, breathless and laughing ridiculously, and covered in grass or bits of dirt and dandelions. The kind of physical, all out graphic sexual escapades that would put extremely well paid adult movie workers to shame--especially since it takes a special kind of talent to get to the finish line together in a little nook under a roller coaster with hundreds of people passing by and NOT being seen or heard or arrested for indecent exposure~

She absolutely does! While Violet does purchase items for Zach, most of what she purchases for herself is for Zach’s benefit.

Zach loves when she wears perfume, and she will always lets him pick the scents he likes best for her to use. So, on most of the Bath and Body Works trips he tags along or shows up because she’s taking too long. Violet uses the test strips for the fragrances, gives them to him to smell, and Zach’s very vocal about which he does and does not like. This leads to him insulting the store staff (for scents he hates) and flirting with Violet (for scents he loves).

Zach is a stickler for cleanliness, so she buys hand soap and pocket bac for both of them, Violet usually goes for more clean scents for him, but he’s also a lover of the floral and fruity scents. For hand cleaning purposes, he really likes crisp morning air, turquoise waters, sweet pea, fresh cut lilacs, and Japanese cherry blossom.

Violet buys shower gel for herself, but Zach ends up using it sometimes, so she’s bought him Sweet Pea shower gel on a few occasions, much to his displeasure….

Zach: “I never use that, why did you buy that!?!?”

Violet: “you literally used it this morning, I can smell it on you….”

Zach: “No I didn’t!”

Violet: “Do you want me to take it back?”

Zach: “….No….”

Her go to purchases for him are from the aromatherapy department. She buys him products that help him to relax and unwind after a long day of running his company, trying to outsmart the Wild Kratts, or creating his inventions.

Violet typically purchases items that are Eucalyptus + Spearmint scented to help him relax, and Lavender + Vanilla to help him fall asleep. She’ll get items with these scents in shower/bath gels, shower steamers, candles, lotions, and pillow mist.

She also buys him items from the Men’s Shop. Zach likes these items because they make him feel manly. Zach is prone to coughing at the more “robust scents,” so Violet usually keeps her purchases to the shaving and hair care items. Zach particularly likes the hair gel and beard oil, yes, he uses this only on his soul patch, don’t judge him, lol. He also likes anything in the Black Tie scent because well, it has black in the title, and that’s his color, lol.

And I’d like to end by clarifying that Violet uses his credit card for a lot of things…I kind of headcanon that Zach gave her one of his credit cards when they were still friends so she could get things she needed, prior to her getting a job, and even after when her money was tight, without having to go to her aunt or cousin for the money. Violet is not the type of person who would take advantage of this, and she usually kept her purchases to a minimum.

If one squinted, they could see the stains of long-dried blood that Lena couldn't - or wouldn't - get out of the worn leather. There was a story there, woven into the fraying fabric of clothes thrifted and stolen alike, of a child, a teen, a young woman desperate to shatter the cage of expectations.

In a bag in the corner existed the threads of conformity, another identity donned of Tracer, Overwatch Hero. The woman painted on posters and t shirts alike, packed down beneath the rebel garb now adorned. And there, it would remain, if only for the night.

Lena took the opportunity between Odessa finishing the look and retrieving the makeup to admire the fanned locks emitted from her head. Something in her chest panged, a feeling of certainty and comfort that she hadn't felt in a long time. Briefly, Lena considered the idea of shaving another crooked undercut into the base of her head, stopping just above the ears, just as she did so many years ago. But before the idea could grow, Odessa was back.

"It looks so good-" Lena's sentence was interrupted by the taller woman, piercing gaze and steady hand already lurking around face. Lena felt something heavy catch in her chest as the scent of dirt, oil grease and Odessa's own hair product filled the air around her. Something about it, like Odessa, buzzed with a vibrancy, a life, that the Wasteland couldn't extinguish.

Warmth bloomed beneath her skin, sparks set by the Junker Queen that blossomed out into the rest of her being, as the fingers gently tugged her face upwards. Lena felt constricted, trapped, in the knowing red-tinted gaze, but for once, it was a feeling she welcomed.

Pale lips split into a soft grin before parting, giving Odessa permission to apply the lipstick. It stood out against her freckled skin, highlighting the pointed Cupid's Bow and natural slope to her face. Lena popped her lips together, smearing the cream makeup into position as Odessa pulled away. Lena permitted a long look into the dusty old mirror in the corner of the room, admiring the work that had gone into highlighting her roots.

"It looks amazing. Thank you, Odessa."

The moment had expired, and excitement bubbled in her chest at the coming concert, the thrill of the show, the thrum of the music, and of course: the feeling of Odessa Stone right there next to her.

THE STARS OFFICE, EARLY MORNING: ANOTHER ALL-NIGHTER. Streams of light break in through the white window shades, illuminating a sole figure's silhouette. Captain Wesker sits in his brown leather chair, feet kicked up upon the cherry wood of his desk. Glasses are off, thrown haphazardly across the swirling, dark brown and burgundry grain, and fingers knead tension out of the bundle of stress between his eyebrows. He wears his usual attire, but his tactical vest is off and laying in the seat in the corner of his office. 

Albert is... a mess. 

Dark hues of purple decorate his under eyes, and he has been sleeping even less than usual. His carefully brushed, spun-gold locks are back to their more unkempt placement, as if they had decided to rebel against his gel. His muscles ache with lactic acid buildup, the pressure enough to make him more sluggish - and within, a storm churns, rotating faster and faster.

Since Christopher Redfield had been attacked and so gregariously injured by an assailant, Wesker has been to himself, only coming out of his office to bark orders and recieve reports. He seems to ignore everyone but Chris, as if the rest of the STARS team is just a distraction, or he pays them little attention. So unlike the man who made it his duty as captain to build and keep a strong repertoire with his team. And when he does give Chris his attention, it is fleeting -

Whenever he sees the marksman, all he can see is the crimson slowly overtaking the concrete and Redfield's pale form, like Chris was getting tucked into a blanket of blood. The fear and panic that rushes through him when he remembers how quickly he offered up his own vein for a blood transfusion, and the relief when he started being stable, is an acknowledgement he cannot run from: he is hopelessly in love with Christopher Redfield.

He doesn't remember when the feelings started getting uncontrollable, just that one moment, Albert viewed him as that really handsome pilot who saved his life during the Gulf War, and the next, his best friend whom he could not live without. Chris had become a permanent fixture, as reliable as his own hands, and the experience of almost losing him had shaken him to his core.

In the orphanage where he grew up, he had always been taught to never let another impact him as such. That emotions were little more than tools that the exceptionally bright could manipulate.

It had developed out of his control, and Albert felt he was being devoured alive with want. Chris dominated his thoughts. 

After filing reports for what feels like centuries into the early morning, the captain grabs his belongings (a set of keys, his glasses which go back into place so easily upon his features, his fingerless gloves that he shoves on, and a leather backpack that he slings over his shoulder), and meanders out of his office. Clicking the light and turning his back to the rest of the STARS headquarters, Wesker rubs sleep from his eyes and yawns as he sets about locking his door. His keys rattle and jingle while he turns the lock, and when he moves to leave, that storm inside of him swells when he sees Chris, asleep, on a stack of folders at his own desk. He looks so peaceful, the soft rise and fall of his chest enough to soothe Wesker's fears. No blood, no losing him, just his steady breath -

Oh, how he loves him more.

Deciding that he cannot leave him there, Albert pads over and stands behind him for a moment. Chris smells so good that he leans down a little and breathes him in - one un-gloved hand moving to bury itself in short, dark strands. Soothing touches, soothing strokes. 

"Chris," he whispers, "wake up."

And when the other rouses from sleep, Albert moves away quickly and gives his shoulder a squeeze.

"I'll take you home. You shouldn't be driving. You're still recovering."

Albert's own blossoming splotch of blue, yellow, black, and purple reminds him of that, too. 

His blood had pumped within Chris's veins to keep him alive. And Albert had never felt the urge to give quite so much. He had almost passed out from it.

By the time Chris comes out to meet him and slides into the passenger seat of Wesker's Jaguar, Albert is tapping the steering wheel to some Vivaldi that blares through the black car's speakers. 

"Put on your seatbelt," he orders, waits for it to be done, and then peels off towards the direction of Chris's apartment. Wesker is silent, keeping his distance, ignoring the fact that Redfield's presence still makes him feel like he's buzzing. The drive isn't too bad, not enough people on the road to cause any issues or traffic. The only companion to the Jaguar as it coasts down the street is the occasional stop sign or street light.

They pull up to the curb, and Albert climbs out. He almost hops back into the car and drives off, but something keeps him rooted there, and he cannot leave him. To do so would be agony. He shoves his hands into the pockets of his slacks and walks on, his Oxfords clicking against the concrete.

And as he walks behind Chris, he realizes this is the first time they'd been truly alone since the incident when he'd almost lost his best man.

When he comes to the door of the complex, the thought to turn and run back to the safety of his car does strike his mind, and yet, when Chris turns to say goodbye, and those blue-brown eyes look at him, Albert falls into them, and he knows... he knows that he is going to change their dynamic forever. 

"Chris," he whispers, "wait. I - "

Genuine feelings are so difficult.

Albert's hand reaches and wraps around Chris's wrist, to keep him there, too.

"I want to apologize."

The sentence feels heavy in his throat, but Bert persists.

"I know you wonder why I have been keeping my distance. It is... because I almost lost you."

Glasses are pulled off with the other hand and placed into shirt pocket, blue eyes shining with something intense and inexorable, if Albert did not know that the name for the emotion was love. 

The captain leans in close, resting his forehead to Chris's.

"If you haven't noticed," he says, a smirk quirking his lips to the side, "that thought causes me a lot of grief."

The smirk turns into a ghost of a genuine, happy smile, and Wesker's other hand moves to rest against the side of Chris's neck.

"It is because I love you, Christopher. I do."

The wind whips around them, and Albert can barely help it when he closes the distance between his and Chris's mouths. Both hands move to cradle Chris close, a bracket that means he cannot get away from this bestowal of affection.

It is a kiss of claiming, of longing, of devotion and possession, of devouring. Wesker's fingers curl along his carotid, thumb gently tracing Redfield's pulse as he desperately tries to prove how much he means his words. His nose presses into Chris's cheek, and with each passing second, Albert finds himself falling deeper and deeper, soul intertwining with Chris's in a loop, an ouroboros, that never stops.

let's see what has left my possession. most is skincare because duh I use that like twice a day everyday. we start with my proud empties and lead into the shame that is my declutters

e.l.f. Cosmetics Jelly Pop Luscious Lip Mask - this smelled so heavily like artificial watermelon flavoring? Felt like I was smearing melted candy on my lips. It was a fine lip mask though. I don't like my products to have any scent at all so even if I was given the chance to repurchase, I wouldn't. Pretty sure it's discontinued anyways.

innisfree Dewy Glow Jelly Cream - It's a gel moisturizer. A while ago I had some samples from innisfree and I hated pretty much every moisturizer since it was just too rich for my oily skin but this is good, doesn't take like six hours to dry down like some of their other products.

Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream - I'm going to miss this. I had the tube version which I think(?) had more product than the jar. It did what it said it would, it was hydrating and soothed any irritation in my skin. Pretty pricey though so maybe I would buy it again when it goes on sale.

VUE DE PULANG Frozen Cream - I really like this! I stick it in the freezer for a few hours but you could use it at room temperature. If frozen, it's kind of like scooping shaved ice and it melts into the skin. Nice chilling sensation that lingers a bit. It feels hydrating and dries down even if you slathered on a thick layer. My second tub actually, might opt for a third, might not. Probably not because I get bored with products easily and like switching things up.

Jin Jung Sung Soothing Moisture Skin Essence - It's a thick liquid in a nice glass bottle, I don't refrigerate it but it feels nice and cool nonetheless. Makes my skin feel nice and soft. Might repurchase or use again if my mom has a spare stashed somewhere

e.l.f. Cosmetics Holy Hydration! Daily Moisturizer Mini - What's the difference between this and the face cream? Other than texture? Fuck if I know. This has a noticeable fragrance which I hate with a burning passion, it smells like how Airheads Candy Bites (Original Fruit, Watermelon) taste which,,,, might be a hyper specific reference but my brother got gifted a box of them and I've been chipping away at it. It's fine. Not the candy, that's good, I'm talking about the moisturizer. Will I buy the full size? No, not unless there's a fragrance free version, it's on sale, and I need a new moisturizer ASAP.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Pure Skin Moisturizer Mini - Huh. I don't know what I expected but it wasn't this that's for sure. How did I even get a moisturizer to be streaky? You need to really rub this in to get it to not look like you dipped your face in paint. Also sometimes it stings when my skin's extra irritated. Anyways this feels like nothing on the skin and leaves me matte which I guess could be a good day cream situation. I don't think I'm going to go out of my way to get this but it's ight. Maybe I just need to stop being so fucking aggressive with my hands who knows

AOA Cherry Blossom Lip Oil (Avocado/Cherry) - Scent isn't overwhelming (it's there but like. Only a little though) and it applies just fine. The flocked applicator you usually see with lip products seems like an odd choice since it do be soaking up product but to be fair a lot of other lip oils are packaged with that kind of brush. I don't know if I just go through lip oils quickly or if there really isn't much product inside (probably both) but this really didn't take long at all. I like using an oil as a base before putting on balms/creams because my lips really are that crusty as to need this many products slathered on. Maybe a repurchase, maybe I'll try other lip oils. Can't beat $1.88 though.

Florence By Mills Hit Snooze Lip Mask - Fuck no. The texture was fun, felt like jello kinda, no noticeable scent or anything but it dried my lips out and putting on a thicker layer just made it worse. Wish this worked for me since it's a pretty good amount and again, it's fun to touch but I can't be bothered with lip products that don't immediately improve my lips. This was in one of those holiday gift sets with a tinted lip balm I also hate lol live and learn.

Florence By Mills Oh Whale! Lip Balm (Candy Cane) - I don't have beef with the lip balm portion, I just don't like the color. It's a bright bright hot pinky red that I think looks bad on me and also doesn't vibe with my preference for darker, grunge lips.

The Creme Shop Permanent Popsicle Lip Juice Stain (Eternally Grapeful) - Yeah no I couldn't handle the grape scent. Call me weak I Do Not Care. Once you open this bad boy up it hits you like a truck. I described the smell as artificial grape candy but now that I think about it that would imply it's at least a bit sweet. This is cough syrup. I will miss this color but also it's nothing revolutionary, I can find a purple elsewhere. Probably in my collection already too. This hasn't soured by opinion on The Creme Shop entirely (just the lip products) so I'll keep an eye out for anything else from this brand.

Euphoric Sun Winter Mochi Lip Gloss (Rice Ball) - I really tried to make this work but why am I in 2023 choosing to suffer with products that don't work for me? Like with The Creme Shop's lip tint, it's gotta go.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Mint Melt (Mint Sparkle) - Same reason as the one for Brain Freeze, it's a really pretty shimmer but it is also scented. More chemically but still overwhelmingly sweet? It's weird.

BH Cosmetics Mrs. Bella Lip Gleam (Golden Peach) - Just not a fan of corals or metallic finishes

Profusion Cosmetics Lip Dazzlers (Daring) - I don't need another sparkly pinky nude gloss nor do I need a bullet lipstick in a pretty common color with a fragile little cap just waiting to be broken. Sure I don't have this color technically, but I have other lipsticks I can mix. Not to mention I've never been in a situation where I ever thought of this over my other lip products.

NYX Professional Makeup Liquid Suede (Alien) - It uh started to smell weird so I think I'm going to have to switch to the Euphoric Sun black tint. A little thin and patchy in the expected areas anyways so maybe it's for the best. But also maybe I'll pick up the black in their Lip Lingerie XXL formula.

Focallure All in One / 5 in 1 Multi-Use Concealer Palette (#01) - My mom was looking to try color correcting so I passed this along to her. Hopefully since they're not pure correcting shades it's more forgiving to a beginner. It was just waiting to be used so probably a better idea to give it a new home where it could be used year round. Crazy how my mom's been wearing makeup for decades yet I have to teach her a lot of basic concepts and techniques. Also is it really a new home if I still live with my parents so it's technically just in the other room?

Coastal Scents Original 88 Color Palette - Too many colors. My pea brain couldn't keep up. Choice fatigue is real. I have blues I already like, neutrals are a dime a dozen, I have the pinks and purples I'll use, I don't like oranges, I like deeper reds, I don't wear green or yellow enough to warrant keeping this for that alone... there's just no reason for me to have this. Sure there's colors that I don't have but if I don't have them already that's probably a sign I'm never going to start wearing them.

UCANBE Precise Definer Liquid Eyeliner (Brown) - This fell apart on me lol the cartridge sticks to the cap and not the barrel component. I very rarely use brown liquid liner, and even if I did, my mom has backups on the AOA Artista Fine Tip Liquid Liner I'm sure she's willing to part with.

NYX Professional Makeup White Liquid Liner - I've decided I'm above really long skinny brushes, both in makeup and in art. Also I haven't felt the need to draw on any lip highlights since I got it. I like pressing and rubbing my lips together, that's not going to survive it. I have face paint as a last resort.

Ulta Beauty Full Coverage Liquid Concealer (Light Warm) - This just got too old and started separating on my skin(???) so it had to go. Probably not going to repurchase since I think I found my favorite liquid concealer already (The Saem) not to mention I have a couple of e.l.f. ones to go through but maybe when those are gone I'll revisit it.

Qibest Multitasking Cosmetic Stick (#03 Contour Stick) - I really did like this but my mom wanted to try contouring and her skintone is lighter than mine so I thought this would fit her better. I have the AOA one to fall back on and it has a pointed edge so I don't have to awkwardly angle a stick or try to load up a brush and paint it on my face anymore.
