#7: At what point do they reach their limit?

Very very interesting to think about... See, most of the time Mimas acts out in what appears to be anger or exasperation, they... Aren't?

Take Scapegoat for example.

These seem like Mimas is losing it towards Sun, but if they really wanted to, they could have deleted or corrupted him at any given point. Xe kept him around for fun, no matter how annoyed it made them.

So what would cause them to reach their limit?

The answer is a little disappointing.

I don't know, and god help whoever finds out.

Two AU ideas for DRDT, because i just listened the Butcher Vanity cover of J's VA.

Game Killer/Stopper Ace AU, where his attempt of attacking and breaking MonoTV is actually successful. The mastermind only has one spare of it and the data in broken MonoTV has way too many information that's important for them. Therefore, when Ace broke MonoTV, the game is temporarily paused until the mastermind gains access back to it's body to keep it running. While mastermind is scheming, Ace takes over the leadership of the group and divides them to two seperate positions: Guards and Lookers. Guards are those that'll guard the body of MonoTV and try to figure out its secrets; and Lookers are people that’ll look and search the academy throughly again for an escape route or hidden passage that might lead to mastermind or outside, whichever one happens the first. Daily, Ace not only manages the news/reports and problems from both of the positions, but also partakes in both activities (Aka he is the only person that looks for an exit/passageway AND partakes in MonoTV's "autopsy"/guarding in the entire class) to make sure nothing funny is happening. He's been known as a coward among the group and he knows that if the game starts again, he will certainly die. Ace needs to make sure that they can either bring down the mastermind or escape outside as quick as possible; he also tries his hardest to train everyone physically (because despite his weight, he is canonically stronger than majority of the group) and prepare them for a fight, just in case in the mastermind tries to get MonoTV back by attacking the Guards. While Ace knows he can't clean his reputation after killing Arei, he is not willing to let the chaos and distrust among them ruin the class more than it already have. Especially with whatever mindfuck David, Teruko, Veronika and Hu are going through right now. Because of the broken glass from punching MonoTV cutting his hand and fingers, he now has a horribly scarred hand and is way more confident and bold on leading the class to their survival. He'll make sure Arei's death will be the second to last one their group will have to suffer from, with the mastermind's own death being the last one.

Butcher Vanity J, where J is the mastermind. She has an eating disorder which she can only eat meat otherwise her body will refuse to function. She quickly learns that out of all meat types; the human meat is the healthiest, tastiest and easiest to get. Therefore, she sets a Killing Game to consume more corpses. Whenever a Trial ends, she eats the corpse of the blackened and victim behind closed doors.

I'm curious; During the malls hayday, what did the boys do after hours?

What they were supposed to do was act as security and prepare for the next day. Normally one of them would patrol the area in case of intruders and prep anything needed for the next day's sale's along the way, while the other would stay in their room to charge. They would do this in shifts until morning — though, eventually management got tired of seeing Sun with less than 100% battery, and Moon made the decision to just do security full time while Sun charged. (That issue goes much deeper, but this is already getting long so I'll save it for another time)

Despite the rules, more and more often the two of them would be caught playing with all the features of the mall as though they were customers themselves. Management looked away from this habit at first (they didn't care so long as security checks were still being performed, ie their playing wasn't becoming a distraction) but after so many times of getting caught goofing off instead of doing their jobs, the boys had to get a little more clever with it.

Sun liked to spend his time trying on the make-up and jewelry that he wasn't normally allowed to wear, or would blast his favorite songs from every speaker and dance the night away like a teenager. Moon preferred the arcade and could put away multiple hours in there. Occasionally they would pretend to get a table together at one of the mall's restaurants, or see a movie together at Waning Lights.

There was at least one occasion of them riding/racing mattresses down the escalators. They got in big trouble for that one.

"Yes, lift it higher" Luisa threw a quick look at her Abuelo who loaded it on the second floor. Everyone seemed so busy, what does Luisa do? Maybe move some benches or help townsfolk. Her gift wasn't made for creative outcome, but she still can help! Or just do something, there was a way to be at least useful even if the creativity that Abuelo loved so much wouldn't come with it. If anything, physical strength was far more for destruction things. Somebody, what as he said was accociated with the inviders that attacked him and Abuela Alma all the way back when the miracle was born. Luisa didn't want to be a bad person or have any relation to murders. She actually wanted for everyone to be safe.

Luisa swallowed the bile, her fists clenched. Yes, there must be something better to do. She could go check if the fireworks are installed correctly. She spent several hours cleaning the place. Maybe Abuelo would at least say she did a good job. He said that being creative and making things of their own is what keeps the Miracle alive. What could Luisa do? Don't get her wrong, she loved her gift more than anything. But Abuelo preferred bright beautiful colors, or perfect melody of the musical instruments Luisa couldn't even name, or a delicate embroidery.

Somewhere above their heads a bright sun heated the air. Luisa tensed, feeling her muscles sweating. "Thank you, Mira! It's perfect!" Rainbow shone above Tía Pepa.

Mirabel, of course, Luisa couldn't escape Señorita Sofisticado, smiled gently, placing her hands on her chest. "You don't have to thank me! I mean, how could mother not look her best at her baby's ceremony?" Her dark brown curles twirled in the air as she turned around, practically bumping into Luisa.

"OUCH!" Luisa yelped, more from surprise than from anything else. "Look where you're going!"

Mirabel groaned, fixing her glasses. "Yes, because I'm TOTALLY supposed to see behind my back!" She rolled her eyes, staring up at Luisa. Damn, she can be so annoying sometimes. Most of the time.

Okay, no time to distraction. She had to work. Luisa pulled the sleeve of her himation, running to the other chore. Yes, maybe check if the fence for guests' donkeys are secure.

"Luisa?" She turned her head to her Papí's voice. What did he need her help with. Staring at the bee stings Luisa had a feelings he should seek her Mamá instead. "How are you doing?"

"Just helping with the preparation, I gotta do my best for the family!" Luisa exclaimed, proud and determined, placing her hands to her sides.

Agustín pat her shoulder. "You're working too hard, is Abuelo talking bad about you again?" Luisa didn't think working too hard was possible. She just wanted to be helpful at the very least. "I swear to Alma if he dare..."

Luisa squeezed his thin wrist, pulling her dad gently. "Don't worry, it's just such a big date! I would hate if we messed up on this one!"

"OH, I get you. First ceremony since Mira's!" Luisa swallowed the rotting heartache deeper to ignore it. "Lots of emotion. I just mean if you are..."

"OH, I think I have to clean the backyard!" Luisa interrupted him, rushing away on the full speed. The last thing she wanted was to listen to another dose of support. There was just so many better ways to kill time

Are you going to make anymore Self aware swap AU content?

I’m not exactly sure.

Originally, the SAS au was supposed to be a direct parallel to Welcome Home, a what if scenario where the puppets are the ones that were self aware of their existence instead of Wally.

But ever since the new updates came out, i realized that the Welcome Home story wasn’t so black and white. Wally might be the most obvious when it comes to “characters that definitely know what’s up”, but other characters like Eddie, Home, and even Frank also have been theorized to have a level of awareness about their situation.

Plus, the au was a bit too “edgy” and not in a good way. I do love horror, but there’s a line between what’s a good story with very dark and horrific ideas, and just plain edginess without any substance. I did have a story that went along with it, but as I mentioned earlier, the au was supposed to be as close to canon as possible, so it just kinda fell apart once the updates released.

And the au’s characters were also very OOC. But then again, I did make this au before the first major update of Welcome Home 😭

I don’t think I’ll continue it, honestly whenever I think of the au I just cringe a bit 😭😭

But that’s not to say that I regret making the au, it was my first major post on tumblr and I met some wonderful people!! Plus it did help me draw the characters a bit more accurately too!!

“Scapegoat” (Story told through the Incubus Maine News Gazette)

“2 Bodies Found In The Harmony Arcadia; Owner Claims “Killer Robot” Is To Blame”

On April 22nd, 1994, The body of 25 year old [REDACTED] and 34 year old [REDACTED] were uncovered within the Harmony Arcadia. The victims were found tangled in an axial fan of the main ventilation system, recovered by unsuspecting maintenance workers. An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be blood loss and asphyxiation; [REDACTED] suffered blunt force trauma to his skull and chest, while [REDACTED] had visible fractures on her neck and clavicle from strangulation. The case was ruled almost instantly as a murder.

Police noted long, abnormal rows of shallow bruises and lacerations on both parties, wrapping around the limbs and torsos in a “spiral” pattern. Closer examination confirmed the wounds were sliced with metal coils, such as those represented on the Henry Security puppets (the Arcadia’s robotic security devision made to replace human security guards.)

Forensic investigators came to a definitive conclusion that the puppets were somehow used in the murders, and received verification from Arthur Greywhinder—the founder and creator of the Harmony Arcadia— in his police interview.

He confirmed that the puppets are programmed to only ever act on the commands of their artificially intelligent leader, the Commander Henry. Every action they make is result of its own explicit instructions, which provided a compelling lead to a deeper investigation. According to investigators, the Commander wasn’t able to be brought in for questioning; it verbally invoked its “fifth amendment right to remain silent” before the interrogators had the chance to speak with it one-on-one.

Only when security camera footage was accessed did law enforcement unfold the hidden story. Video logs reported that on the night [REDACTED] went missing, the Commander intentionally disabled all cameras in the Arcadia until the next morning. The same was said for [REDACTED], whose car would never be moved from the mall parking lot. It remains unclear whether or not the Commander itself was behind the assault, or if it sent the other security puppets to attack the victims, but its unmistakable involvement was enough to convince authorities to take action.

On April 30th, after the video footage was released, Commander was officially handed over as evidence to the Incubus Maine police department. First-hand police accounts reveal that the puppet violently resisted the arrest, regarding that it took six officers to restrain the machine and move it outside of the building.

“I’ve never seen anything like it,” one injured officer told reporters. “You know, you wake up, have breakfast, go to work like usual, and the next minute you’re expected to take down a killing machine with a couple of your partners. Like c’mon now… I just barely got my shoes on. It’s too early for this…”

Greywhinder spoke with press that afternoon concerning the murders. He suggested that faulty wiring must have been the initial cause of the robot’s malfunction, but later doubled down on his first assertion, claiming instead that:

“…The Commander Artificial Intelligence grew sentient, and became filled with a bitter hatred for humanity…”

He continued:

“…What was once created to protect the Arcadia became its greatest threat… I believe I speak for all of us when I say no one could have predicted these horrific acts at the hands of our trusted ally. Given the subject matter, I fully understand the public scrutiny. A case as this one feels all too familiar…”

As of writing, the investigation is still underway. Greywhinder himself declared in his speech that Commander will be disassembled on May the 8th by authorities, and that the security puppets will be temporarily discontinued to avoid the risk of anymore attacks.

“…There comes a time in every man’s life where he has to put his foot down in the event of a liability. You do what you have to in order to protect your family. The Commander—in this situation— is a rabid dog. A once beloved pet, reduced to nothing but a raving, sputtering mess of an animal. It’s best for all of us that he’s swiftly put down before he gets the chance to infect anyone else…”

Ultimately, a trial will not be held for the android, nor was a confession ever recorded. The Commander was last seen in its final moments being transported away from the mall in a police vehicle. The Arcadia has agreed to make investments towards more human security guards, and the families of the deceased will be awarded with financial compensation.
