Art & Eats at The Apollo on Emma

We are so excited to announce the upcoming Artist | Chef Spotlight Dinner at The Apollo on Emma in downtown Springdale on Thursday, May 30th at 6:30pm. Local artist Amber Perrodin has created an elaborate new series of nine works of art that will be on display in The Apollo's cocktail lounge. Local Chef Brent Hale with Big Sexy Food has taken inspiration from these nine pieces to create a 5-course meal that showcases what he sees in the artwork. The signature cocktail hour's craft drinks will also be created with the vibe of the artwork serving as inspiration to create the specialty drinks.

Artist | Chef Spotlight Dinner Experience

ARTIST’S PREVIEW  (6:30 p.m.)

Meet the artist during the signature craft cocktail hour featuring live music 

CHEF’S DINNER (7:30 p.m.-10 p.m)

1st Course: Pickled beet salad, arugula puree, shaved purple onion, cocoa nibs

2nd Course: Chilled butter poached scallop, smoked corn puree, Parmesan crisp

3rd Course: Chicken confit, wild mushroom, bourbon soaked cherries, sweet potato puree

4th Course: Roasted pork, black olive tapenade, roasted tomato jam, sour cream potato puree, roasted asparagus

5th Course: Crafted dessert buffet

Each of the first four courses will have wine pairings followed by a dessert buffet with champagne and live music on the outdoor patio. Tickets are $75 each and can be reserved in advance under Artist & Chef Spotlight Dinner. Experience includes: signature cocktail hour to meet the artist, 4-course chef’s dinner with wine pairings plus dessert bar & champagne on the patio with live music.

A little about the artist & chef. . .

Amber Perrodin | Artist

Amber Perrodin is a mixed media artist living in Springdale, Arkansas with her husband Jonathan and two daughters, Raine and Ezmah. Amber received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking from the University of Arkansas in 2010. She has a love and appreciation for the quiet, poetic nature of combining muted colors, papers, discarded prints, and paint on birch panels.

Amber is also the co-founder of Perrodin Supply Co. with her husband Jonathon, founder and creative director of NWA’s indie craft show, The Little Craft Show, and previously worked as the Programming Director for the Downtown Springdale Alliance. In early 2018, Amber co-founded the Creative Social Retreat with four other amazing artists.

Brent Hale | Chef

Chef Brent Hale founded Big Sexy Food in January of 2016 specializing in high end, in-home dining. (Chef Hale still continues to do this and is really great at it too!)  BIG Sexy Food expanded into the food truck business in August of 2016 because, well, why not right? BIG Sexy Food now has three food trucks across Northwest Arkansas and Chef Hale loves every second of it.

Chef Hale was a recent winner of Guys Grocery Games on the Food Network, “Friend or Foe” episode and returned back for the “Supermarket Rematches” episode where he was destroyed by a cool vegan chef out of Dallas named Jessica.  Yeah, it was bad.
