thinking about that time i took a test and drew House MD on the scratch paper, which is collected along with the test, because I was very very very Bored ™ and why not.

i drew the "you DOSED me!!!" "only because you didn't trust me!" "i'm not ON antidepressants, i'm on SPEEEED" scene. whoever grades that is going to have either a good time, or they will mock me, and i'm okay with either option.

sadly because i was not allowed to keep the scratch paper, i could not keep my drawings, despite that piece of scratch being devoted entirely to House MD and containing absolutely nothing about my test, because why would i do the intelligent thing and use scratch for good purposes?

do you guys remember how girls "weren't as smart as boys and couldn't be in school with them because their role and biology did not align with academic excellence"?

and now college-aged young women are smart and cunning and phenomenal while their male peers are fasc1sts with no future prospect or sociocultural literacy.

you know what? it's fine.

#tomorrow i either pass clinical psych or i don't pass. or i get a 3 and i'm forced to consider if it's worth trying again or not #that's fine. then i try to do something with the school psych assignment over the weekend #then i do a bit of preparing for the stupid fucking neuropsych online exam. so I don't go in blind #you gotta know how to cheat and how to use your notes y'know what i mean.#and then i start studying for the comprehensive exam and also work on the research paper #and if i fail clinical psych i can try again one or two weeks later (can't really do one bc i don't want to be back here that week) (so two)#and if i fail the comprehensive exam (or if it's crap like it's a 2 or a 3. bc it kind of needs to be a 5 bc of the degree grade) then i #try again on may 7 #and if i don't manage to finish the research paper by may 6 for the first check‚ i still have until the 19th to do it #i will make it through if it kills me.. and it shouldn't like if this tests my limits then i deserve to be hit with a #giant hammer until i die 💀

I wrote a long post abt how hysteria over cheating with AI is borderline irrelevant to my field and how that post implying it's a huge epidemic annoys me and then deleted it bc nobody cares. lol

#thinking of the guys who watched video games playthroughs during class all day and now he assists w cardiac and transplant surgeries #and he's great. we get training after graduation anyway and often what you learn in school is only narely applicable to your actual job #plus you're in an environment with a lot of other people who are keeping an eye on your decisions. ideally #but 'oh no teacher they're cheating at HOMEWORK' just comes off as very silly to me #ALSO if you genuinely think a nurse can glide their way through nursing school using chatgpt you clearly don't know #how our exams are structured or how we need to choose the right mc question of 5 extremely complex ones #or how if we get under 77% we fail the class and how most of the grade is in mc exams.#at least for me #I don't think using AI to cheat would even be possible #and ppl who were cheating were already doing so before AI anyway #welp that's it basically #disclaimer this is based on my experience but the national licensing exam IS myltiple choice and people DO fail #also if you're really graduating w chatgpt essays and going into a field and getting hired and NOBODY notices #that indicates maybe it doesn't actually matter?#I know for a fucking fact engineers need to be able to actually do their jobs to keep them too #cor.txt

I do understand that post that’s like “future nurses are using ai to glide through classes rn” in the sense of like. Sure if you’re going into a lifesaving profession you should probably actually like. Know that shit to save lives etc. but I simply can’t rb bc like. Do you think nurses (and college students in general really) just. Weren’t cheating before ChatGPT? Do you think they weren’t having other people write their essays? Or getting the questions for tests from their friend who took the class the day before them? Like. Ai is not the birth of cheating in your college classes. My aunt tells a story about her and one of her best friends from college made sure to take the same class with the same professor but on different days bc her friend was better at that kind of thing (I think it was like. A geology class?) and her friend would copy down all of the questions from the labs (and sometimes quizzes/tests if she could remember them) to give to my aunt for her lab the next day. This was in like 2003 long before ChatGPT. People have been doing that since we started giving each other tests probably.

#my uncle did a similar thing when he was the ta for a class his friend was in. this isn’t new !#idk the post is very weird to me.#like the ppl say it’s terrifying I promise you there have always been nurses cheating on their exams. they’re just using computers to do it #which is not to say I’m for ai just the wording of it is certainly a choice #although I personally don’t think there’s anything wrong with cheating on an exam so. maybe it’s a morals things idk #fuck academic dishonesty I don’t give a shit about that.#mostly bc I think lying is. literally whatever in. a lot of situations.#like obv there’s situations where you shouldn’t lie/it would be wrong to do but like. there are many more where it’s literally fine or even #better to lie than to tell the truth.#so actually the post is literally fine probably I just don’t think cheating in your classes is like. morally wrong nor is it a particularly #good reason to hate ai. bc cheating has always and probably will always existed #prsnl

#in the incoming freshman discord for my college.#these kids are bragging about cheating on all their placement exams #FIRST OF ALL. there are literal employees of our university in this chat + 200 other students. u could get in so much trouble EASILY rn #SECOND. these are PLACEMENT exams. to see what you know so you are placed in the right class. being in a higher level does not help or #affect you in any way graduation-wise. why would you cheat to get into a class that’s too hard for you that you’ll fail in and damage your #gpa and make you miserable & confused. when you could take the appropriate class & get placed at your level & be confident in your learning #& get more out of the class & have a better more prepared understanding of the concepts when you graduate #like you are setting yourself up for failure for what. to be in the advanced class? that litrally nobody cares about or will care about ever #????? that’s so so so so so so so so stupid idk what to tell you.#i’ll be over here with a 4.0 in my ‘easy’ math class enjoying my learning and understanding the concepts. have fun failing & being sad tho

i hate the passage of time genuinely i feel sick thinking about my exams this week

#auri rambles #im generally fine when im swinging at deadlines and labs but as soon as exam season hits and the time is unstructured #i become an academic slug. im caught up w the coursework and im almost done making my everything cheat sheet to take into the room #but i still need to do a bunch of practise questions oh god oh fuck #and i still dont know how to pull myself out of bed :(#and i hate knowing that im going to have to pretend to be okay in front of my relatives when i visit them at the end of the year #unfortunately flying 'home' fills me with dread and i havent fully recovered from what happened in january #yeah hiii school's going JUST GREAT i love it so much and i am a functioning adult woman (twists smile) and am doing well #because i am just as smart as you think i am and just as happy as i ought to be. no i dont plan on becoming a doctor.#if i have put on weight please do not make me your conversation

Being high is slightly dangerous for me because I literally cannot lie. It's a truth serum to me. Idk why or if anyone else has that effect. I will tell the truth like always and if I tried to lie it would be super obvious
