In order to bid, you will have to register with your CHARACTER’S NAME. The website asks for an email address in order to verify. You can create a one time email address with mailinator if you don’t want to give out your rp email etc. Otherwise, feel free to use whatever email address you want! We won’t see it, don’t worry :)

If you play more than one FC, and you want them all to bid, you’ll need to register each FC individually.

The minimum bid is $50, but feel free to rack that number up as there is no maximum number!

Remember to stay within your FC's net worth range

You can bid as many times as you want for as many people as you want.

If your FC is in the auction you cannot have that FC bid on the others.

If the same FC is the highest bidder for more than one person - you will be paired with the one you spent the most money on and the other will go to the next highest bidder. We are doing this so we can get as many different people involved in the event as we can.

All bids will be kept anonymous until the pairs are released.

The pairs will be announced on February 18th

From February 19th - 29th at 12am EST you have to send the main (@rededgerp) the link to your date para/gif chat (when it hits at least 6 notes) or send the main the link for your chatzy/discord post when you post it on the dash. PLEASE DO THIS VIA IMS. Please do not tag us in the threads as we may miss it. (Texts will not count.

If a member from the auction leaves the rp/switches their FC or gets reopened, we will remove them from the auction and they will not be replaced by a new member due to the fact that there will be less time to bid on that member.

If your date auction partner leaves the rp or gets reopened before you could finish your thread, we will just remove you from the list of needing to complete the thread.

★  BEST EXPERIENCE: I... honestly can't think of any? I've had more bad experiences than good. Maybe I'd say when I finally found my footing with independent OCs with Izren and ended up buddies with Bear and his whole entourage of writing partners. I've joined up on Discord servers with people I write with in the past, but I've never had fun like we do on his server. Plus we play D&D!

★  PREFERENCE OF COMMUNICATION: Discord is my go-to if you wanna reach me. I use Tumblr IMs too, though with how they're about as functional as a Bethesda game, I often ask if we can move over to DMs.

I've got my Discord tab open 24/7 on both my laptops, plus I have the app on my phone. I lurk a lot. But nine times outta ten, I'm more of a reactive replier, almost always messaging back rather than messaging first.

★  MOST ACTIVE MUSE: Kouki, always. Getting into the mood with him is so stupidly easy. Put on any rock music, think about any series, play a video game, whatever- and there's always something that makes me do that Leo pointing meme and think "Hey, that gives me ideas for that white-haired little gremlin!"

★  EXPERIENCE / HOW MANY YEARS: I've honestly lost track lmao. Ballpark estimate is 11-13 years since I started around 2010 to 2013, with my intro to roleplaying being those ancient Quotev quizzes and the chatroom website Chatzy. If I remember correctly, my first actual RP was either in a Sonic chatroom or a Naruto chatroom. And I've never even watched Naruto- I was going on nothing other than the Fandom Wiki. You could even say that my cringe-worthy OC there was the first iteration of Kouki. Only reason I still remember that chat was one of my writing partners died of some terminal illness. Basically drowned in her own blood.

After that, I moved here to Tumblr. It started with Pokemon blogs... then Steven Universe (where I saw them actively out-toxic the MLP fanbase and drive them out of the fanbase)... then I was the sole Soul Calibur roleplayer... then I made a Skyrim OC based on the Kid Dragonborn mod... then I fell back onto Naruto and joined the fanbase here with more cringy OCs... made my other, still on-going Pokemon blog about eight-ish years ago... joined the JJBA fandom, which was and still is the best fandom I ever joined... then I joined the RWBY fandom... then the BNHA fandom... and now we're here!

★  RP PET PEEVES:

I'm gonna cheat a bit and leave two of Bear's peeves, if only because he completely hits the nail on the head. There's just no better way to put it without rehashing things.

Excessive commentary blogging. Before it was just a lot of dash commentary that had me going 'eh'. But in recent years it's gone past that. I've become disenchanted with blogs that become largely commentary for whatever it is they're doing on Discord. All power to those Discord groups doing what they do! But it reaches a point for me that I don't really see them as indie, and it can feel insurmountable trying to interact with them if you're not entangled with their zig-zagging plotlines.

Blog hoppers. Because for a slow burner and long hauler like myself, they're the most impossible people to write with! Which is a shame, because a lot of the hoppers I come across do seem to have some writing talent to them!

Fandom RP events. When I was younger, I used to love the idea of these big events with their own plotlines and moving parts that anyone could participate in if they wanted to. Galas, holiday parties, festivals- stuff like that.

That lasted until 2018, when I kickstarted Bernadotte's original JJBA blog and brought back my long-running Pokemon blog. In the span of something like 5 months, eight separate RP events happened back-to-back in just the JJBA fandom alone. You can only try to participate and be entirely ignored for so long before it sours your whole outlook.

And I mean entirely. I remember writing twelve different starters that people asked for, responding to numerous open threads and starters, liking many different event starter calls, sending asks- the whole shebang. Not even once did I get anything back. If you enjoy fandom RP events, more power to you. But I've been burned too many times to even want to try.

★   PLOTS OR MEMES: Doesn't matter to me! Either way is great! Back in the day, I relied heavily on memes without any ideas for plot, just sending in whatever sounded like something my muse would say. Basically "Oops! All Memes!" Now? I put more thought into things. Overthink things too.

Receiving memes? I almost always ask if there was a reason or an idea driving my partners to send in that specific thing 'cause you never know, y'know? They usually do. But it really doesn't matter to me if they do or don't. I'm just happy to write with y'all.

★  ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S)?: There's a little bit of me in every one of my muses! An example off the top of my head? Kouki is based on how I was as a kid his age. Corbin was inspired by my high school years, my love for old books and poetry, and my music tastes. My Pokemon OC was straight-up a self-insert when I started that blog. Tino came from my RWBY days and my absolute love for weaponry.

THE BLOSSOM FESTIVAL - SPRING EVENT

The blossoms are blooming and, with the start of Spring, Town Hall has decided to put on Lunar Cove’s very first Blossom Festival. The event will kick off on Friday, April 14th, strategically occurring outside of any National Holiday given how the Catalyst has a tendency to attack on them and plenty of security measures are being put into place to ensure the event kicks off without a hitch. But, we need your help!

CALLING ALL PLAYERS 

We will be having two different discord “chatzy style” IC parties as part of this event, so if you can vote in the Event Channel as to which days work best for you for both of them that would be great!

For the first discord event/plot drop, we will be having a Basket Auction which we need volunteers for! During this Discord event, characters will either submit baskets anonymously to be bid on or they can choose to wait until the Discord Event to compete in an all out bidding war in an attempt to win the basket/outing of their desires. We would love to have AT LEAST 19 CHARACTERS submit baskets so that everyone will have a chance to participate in a basket outing.

We hope this event will be a fun way to throw characters together who otherwise might not have interacting with one another, help spark some muse and be a fun and festive celebration of Spring. So, although it is completely optional as to whether you submit a basket or not, the charity auction and the pairing portion of this event will be mandatory. Also, IF YOU PLAY MULTIPLE CHARACTERS, at least ONE must submit a basket, and hopefully it will be a lot fun!

We will explain how voting works during the Discord Event, but the biding is half the fun, so if your basket is not chosen to be auctioned off, have no fear! A woven basket is filled with two vanilla milkshakes, fries, a Caesar salad, two cheese burgers and a homemade apple pie. On top sits a single red rose and a small radio with the song “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer playing the the background.

Oh bidder, bidder, wherefore art thou bidder? That’s right. This date is a Shakespeare-themed extravaganza. From starting the date off with a gift basket with your own wheel of gouda straight out of She’s the Man to going on a paddleboat and playing paint ball like in 10 Things I Hate About You, be prepared for cheesy puns and goofy costumes. The evening will conclude at a nearby pub for a Drunk Shakespeare reenactment.

MARREN'S EVE MINI EVENT 001 . . . RED RUM FRIGHT NIGHT !

hellooooo everyone ! in celebration of our server finally opening for ic - interactions, i was thinking it'd be fun to do a little mini - event as a warm up for writing together. and, well, since we did drop in the tags right on halloween . . . what better event to do than a costume party ? the details of our mini - event can be found under the cut.

this mini event will take place ic - wise on NOVEMBER 9TH, starting at 8 pm & ending at 3 am at the coveted RED RUM NIGHT CLUB. each saturday, red rum hosts a "costume party" where the best dressed gets a small prize.

now, ooc wise, this event will run from the point of publishing, up until MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH. it's a very quick event that's just for fun, & can be used to start sns threads or para threads. there will also be an event thread made in our event threads channel that members can write in, in the same breath as those old, chatzy style rps that people used to do. if you wanna make an edit for your muse's costume or something too, you can & can just post it in the edits channel in the server.

as for costumes, bc ik this is likely to come up . . . so long as a fandom is not being written in the rp, i will allow you guys to assume that it can be media that characters can dress up as ( or, could be referenced in the rp in general vs. just having a ripoff title of the media but still like . . . is the media. ) if the fandom is here then the media just won't exist in marren's eve ; mainly bc my brain is getting a headache at trying to explain rip - off fandoms that are basically the same as stories these characters partake in.

HI, ANON! discord is an instant messaging and chatting platform where our ooc server will be located. if you're an old school roleplayer, maybe you will remember skype, chatzy, etc. — it is a bit similar to that. there, members will be able to chat with each other, as well as post starter calls and plotting calls. we will post announcements there too for members to read and react to. occasionally, we might also use it for fast-paced roleplaying during events if our members want. joining is mandatory to keep up with the roleplay, but you're not required to chat in it if you don't want to. if you need any more clarification, just let us know and we'll be happy to help you out!

Discord rp guide - Hollywood edition

This is going to look long and complicated but it will only take two minutes to do. Let's get started!

GETTING STARTED

The first thing you'll do is set up the tupperbox. This is basically a way of letting people know which celebrity you're replying as. This is especially helpful if you play more than one celebrity and/or you use this Discord account for multiple groups. First, you'll set up a name. To do so, you'll click on tupperbox under the navigation tab. Then, you'll type the following: Tul!register “PUT YOUR DISPLAY/CELEB NAME HERE” FIRST NAME HERE: text. For example, I typed: Tul!register “Selena Gomez” Selena: text. This means I'll type 'Selena:' before all of my replies and my name will show up as Selena Gomez.

Then you'll set up an icon. To do so, type: Tul!Avatar “DISPLAY/CELEB NAME HERE AGAIN” and upload an icon in the same message by clicking the plus sign and hitting upload file.

Now, when I type 'Selena:' before anything I want to send, it'll show up like this:

OOC STUFF

From there, you're free to introduce yourself in the welcome channel, talk in the group chat, and use the plot call channel. For the latter, all you do is pick an emote you want people to react with and message anyone who uses said emote.

INTERACTIONS

You can interact in a few ways. Everyone can reply in the group chat. This works the same way as a text thread except it's not limited to two people.

You can have a text thread, which works the same way it would work on Tumblr (only two people in a thread).

Sometimes, events will be held. In this example, it was an impromptu thing that was decided based on the ic group chat and I asked if it was okay if I made a channel for it in the ooc chat. It works the way chatzy parties used to work, except far less time sensitive.

We don't currently have any para threads to use as an example, but you could certainly ask someone to para as well.
